The Taft Littoral Combat Ship is the largest ship currently in use by the Binarian Colonial Maritime Guard. Designed to patrol the waters of the Binarian colonies to keep drug trafficers and piracy to an absolute minimium, the Taft can engage targets of all sizes and threat levels. When deployed in groups, it can serve as a stop gap against medium size air attacks.


Armarment:
The Taft Class is armed with a variety of weapons suited to patrol Binaria's vast colonial empire. the main guns can target both surface and airborne targets at long rages, while being much more compact than the AK-130 L/70 chain gun used on most Binarian ships for gun systems. It carries a large supply of long range surface to air missiles for enages both hostile attack aircraft and smugglers. To defend against small boats that may or may not carry explosives, it has 6 14.5x99mm dual Machine guns on each side of the ship. To help defend against missile and aircraft threats the Taft carries two Goalkeeper CWIS mounts.
Kratos Digital Combat System:

The Kratos Digital Combat System (KDCS) is a program that links together all of a ships electronics suites into a signle package, and overlay them with those of the ships around them, aswell as AWACS creating a true all in one sensor suite. The can control Targeting information aswell as defensive and offensive fire control, in addition to control the employment of countermessures and ECW. It can track and engage over 350 targets.

Radar

The Kratos' Radar suite is a twelve megawatt phased array radar system with 4 different transmitters with one on the bow, one aft, one port and one starboard. Each one of the transmitters is placed so that it gives 360 degrees of search and tracking capicity.

Sonar
The Sonar system is not located on any signle ship. It creates a sonar image from every sonar array in the ships its connected to. This eliminates blind spots, and makes jamming much harder. However, it makes the entire system more susceptable to noise-maker spam.

The Monitor Class Landing ship Heavy is a new Landing ship design to land large amounts of troops quickly, and providing light support for the landing forces. It can land half an Army or Marine regiment and all of their equipment and support units. Half a regiment has 1500 logistics personel attached to it. This ship lands the whole unit, equipment, and logistics in one ship.

The hull is is more flat bottomed at the bow, and is a very shallow draft for the first 100 meters, but as it goes farther aft, it becomes a round bottom ship. This allows the ship to land directly on the beach head and land armor and artillery directly onto the beaches which is critical for any amphibous assualt.

The 6 inch cannons are placed with 2 fore and 2 aft, with one pot and one starboard, this allows for support to be directed from the bridge which functions as regimental comand and control until an HQ is set up in hostile territory.

Aft of the Bridge are the VLS tubes and the helicopter launch platforms. They AH-97s are stored in 2 hangars; fore and aft. The First is directly behind the bridge, and the second is aft ahead of VLS tubes which are fore of the rear hatch; used for launching of divers and smaller landing craft. It has a over head crane system that can lift tanks into smaller landing craft in the event that the ship cannot reach shore, or close enough for the men to wade to the target.

The Halcyon class Attack Submarine is the first submarine to be designed for the Binarian navy. It is a large, fast submarine that can hit hard and get out fast. It carries the most advanced torpedoes in the Binarian Navy.

The M-77 is the pinacle of Binarian fighting vehicles. Designed for patroling urban areas and make troop insertions in hostile urban enviroments. The windows are made of Aluminium oxynitride, a transparent ceramic material that is highly bullet and blast resistant. It can stop an assortment of .50 cal rounds, including armor piercing, high explosive, and armor piercing incendiary rounds. This material can also withstand a near direct hit from a high explosive hand grenade, aswell as near hits from 80mm mortar rounds. The V-hull on the under belly redirects the blast of mines and IEDs to the rear of the vehicle and out bellow the rear hatch.

Cartridge
The 7.62 mm x 49 mm round is deisgned to have maxium lethality. The round is tugnsten that is teflon coated to reduce air friction. At 100 mters it has a 1.2 cm drop, at 250 meters it has a 2.36 cm drop, and at 350 meters the drop is 3.2 cm. Hollow point rounds have a core of phosphorous partialy exposed to the outside air, so that on impact with unarmored targets burning phosphorous enters the body, and is released when the mass of the bullet slows down so that the densely packed burning phosphorous travels into the body causing further pain and damage hopefuly stopping the target.


Sights
The Digital scope is built onto the weapon with a small camera on just above the barrel, which transmits back to the scope in HD allowing high resolution images for night and day, which turns on when the safety is turned off, saving battery power. The view screen can zoom to see targets at ranges up to 3600 meters, although round trajectory is not acounted for, forcing soliders to self compensate for drop at any range beyond 350 meters. The Screen and camera is powered by a Lithium Ion Battery pack built under the barrel, which can be replaced by soilders in the field quickly. The Digital screen isa clipp onto the scope which is has laser dot system that is sighted to where the round will hit before it is issued to the troops. This system allows the soilders to be garranted a high accuracy rifle when issued allowing quick resupply and return to combat. It has a back up iron sight incase the digital scope malfunctions.

Backround
The M-78 Kilgore Main Battle Tank is the first domestically designed MBT in Binarian history. Designed to replace the current MBT in service, the LY4 Wolfhound, which is an exellecent tank, it has been decided recently to phase out as many forgien designed equipment as possible with in 10 years.

Engine
The M-78 Kilgore has a powerful 18 cylinder 3000 hp deisel engine in a "V" configuration.

Armament
The M-78 Kilgore's primary weapon is a 130mm/65 cal ETC smootbore cannon. This weapon can place rounds with high accuracy out to ranges of 4200 meters. The long rod penetrator will still be able to destroy or disable medium tanks and heavier IFVs and ACPs at 5000 meters, although, agianst other modern main battle tanks, the chances of killing nuts, are significantly reduced. The High Explosive Anti-Tank rounds use a tandem warhead intented to reduce the effectiveness of Explosive Reactive Armor(ERA). Because HEAT rounds don't need to have as much speed at impact, the killing range against modern MBTs is increased to 5400 meters, although accuracy suffers at this range considerablely, a fair amount of luck is needed to deliver a kill.

In addition, the M-78 has a considerable secondary armarment with a 14.5x105 mm hatch mounted machinegun manned remotely by the commander, and a 9x76mm coaxial machinegun.



Bismarck Armor Scheme
The Bismarck armor scheme is the result of several decades of research into armor materials and their applications by The Peoples Freedom government and private agencies. The program originally started in 1970 with the introduction of the 'Nova' Main Battle Tank which was the nations' Principe MBT up until the adoption of the Nakil. The result of lessons learned with fifty years of Nova was put into a multi billion dollar program called the Enhanced Protection Scheme or EPS. The primary contractor of this scheme was the Army's Advance Research and Development Lab. Later companies to join was Blitzkrieg Land Systems and Krupp Industries. The Imperial General Staff was the primary funders of the project, with generals reportedly spending personal money and being the primary lobbyists for earmarks.

General Scheme
Bismarck armor scheme in its basic form is designed to reduce the threat of the modern kinetic penetrator to the tank as well as other threats such as mines and shaped charges. The design is also meant to be modular, with easy replacement of perforated plates and high updatability. In fact, while the design was originally introduced in 2022, it would served until 2045 ending with the Mark V scheme. Thus, the armor would continually be updated for two decades.

The first layer of armor is a specially designed Heavy Explosive Reactive Armor set [HERA] which is meant to provide high levels of protection for the tank with little gain in weight. The HERA, named “Rainbow”. “Rainbow” uses a system of operation whereupon the offending projectile in engaged by the “rays” of the HERA and thus deflecting the projectile or in some case managing to actually slice LRP in half thus drastically reducing penetrating ability. The system is composed of “bricks” making each “brick” easily replaceable once used, in addition the “bricks” are lightweight at around 3kg and this allows them to be positioned on all areas on the tank, albeit Bismarck Mark I only uses them on the frontal arc and turret sides and mantlet.

Passive armor consists of a ceramic mix backed up heavily by heavy metals. Bismarck relies on Boron Carbide sandwiched between layers of Improved Rolled Homegoues Armor or IRHA. This system, being physically the thickest on the tank at around 400mm in actual thickness, [At least on the Kilgore] allows for the defeat of shaped charge rounds and long-rod penetrators. This is not one large plate but rather a series [3] large plates interlocked to support each other and provide mutual protection. This also allows for somewhat easy replacement of shattered or cratered plates. This layer is also angled at 45 degrees, this helps to “deflect”long-rod penetrators along another flight path and disrupt shaped charge jets.

A second layer of passive armor is located in the rear of the first armor and consists of a variety of “bricks” which consist of depleted uranium encased by IRHA. This would most likely stop any surving long-rod penetrator or plasma jet due to the decreased speeds from the previous layer and the hitting of hard metals. All of these bricks also interlock and provide mutual support while remains separate blocks.

However, the armor scheme along the frontal arc of the tank and along the turret and glacis is very heavy and cannot be expected to continue along the sides and rear of the tanks. Thus, the side of the tank uses the side variant of the Bismarck scheme. In this variant, the primary protection is provided by IRHA which encases fiberglass or “S-glass” which is a lightweight solution that offers significant protection. Behind this layers is the same depleted uranium bricks as the frontal arc but fewer such bricks. A final layers is Light Explosive Reactive Armor which is also lightweight and used in the same brick format as Rainbow. However these bricks are not as thick or lengthy and thus do not offer the same protection. Despite this, Bismarck retains excellent protection against side threats.

The rear of Bismarck cannot offer very much protection due to the weight constraints,and thus most protection will have to rely on the interior of the tank it is used on, such as whether or not the tank has a engine, fuel tanks, or electronics to block the entry of a round. The basic Bismarck scheme provides protection against small arms fire, but additional protection against 30mm autocannon fire is provided by non explosive reactive armor bricks and a 40mm plate of IRHA. The NxRA bricks also offer multiple hit capacity.

Spalling is a perhaps the most dangerous threat and this is countered to a great extend by a thick [15mm] of Spectra, which provides significant protection against such a threat.

Top-attack rounds and mine threats are always of serious concern to the designers of armor protection. For top-attack rounds, any tank must rely heavily on its APS, but additional armor is provided by the Bismarck with NxRA brick mounted on the turret roof. These thick bricks allow multiple hit capability against threats such as explosively formed penetrators, and thus is the most effective lightweight solution that can be provided. Against mines, Bismarck uses two 15mm of IRHA thick plates on the floor of the tank. These plates are separated by a spaced layer consisting of air, gear storage, or an additional “S” glass layer. The inner plates are also lined with Spectra. Bismarck recommends that tanks users also install shock- seating and a plate on the bottom of the chair to further protect crew against fragments.

Backround:
The Admiral Andarsen is a ship with a single purpose. Destroy every ship it can target. It carries a large payload of Thunderstrike heavy Anti ship missiles. This coupled with the Kratos Digital Combat System linked with an entire fleet can provide advanced targeting to the fleet when it is linked with skirmish units at the edge of the CAP and ASW patrol radius.

Power Supply:
A 100 megawatt pebblebed nuclear reactor supplies power to all of the ship's systems. It has a number of fail safes inlcuding extra neon gas stores to refill the reactor incase of a leak. To repair leaks, a series of stainless steel reinforcements that can be secured in place over gas leaks until permenant repairs can be made. The reactor drives turbines that power three 8-bladed propellers that drive the ship at up to 35 knots.

Armament:
The Admiral Andarsen is armed to the teeth. With a massive missile payload that is solely aimed at destroying or disabling enemy ships. To supplement this, it has 8 1000 mm torpedo tubes mounted in 2 banks of 4. each torpedo is long rnaged and equiped with a massive high explosive payload designed for the destruction of enemy warships.

The ship wields considerable anti-missile defences in the form of four Goalkeeper 30mm CIWS and 12 RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missile (Block I) missile launchers.

Backround:

The VC-46 Raptor is the first tilt rotor Aircraft designed by the Binarian Millitary. The need for a long range tilt rotor aircraft was seen after several long range transport choppers crashed in the Baltic Sea off the coast of Binaria (Non RPed). This has lead to the devolment of the VC-46 Raptor. It is a large, long range tilt rotor aircraft designed for troop tansportation in combat zones quickly and safely.

The Troop bay has been removed and replaced with a weapons bay that carries anti-submarine warfare equipment. The General Hansen is part of the General series of Carriers. Although primarily a transport for AirCav units, it also serves as a ASW platform. It carries 30 ASW varriants of the V-46 family. These units have Airborne KDCS version that are linked to the centeral unit on board, which is in turn linked to the rest of the fleet. This gives a massive scope of operations for the ASW wing on board each carrier.

Background:The M-72 Sentinel Tank Destroyer is a hybrid between gun armed Tank Destroyers such as the B1 Centauro and missile armed ones as M901 ITV. This marriage of long range firepower with a high speed, highly mobile vehicle creates a weapon system that can eliminate tanks and enemy armored vehicles at long range and get out of hostile areas quickly.

Project History
The M-72 Sentinel was created to fill a need in Binarian forces for a fast, highly armored recon vehicle capable of deep penetration behind enemy lines to disrupt enemy supplies lines and the power projection capabilities given by enemy Main Battle Tanks and Infantry Fighting Vehicles. Designed by Clyde L. Choate, the lead designer at Binarian Ground Combat Systems' Light Armor Division. Originally a pet project of his after his son, a war correspondent in the Red Colonial uprising witnessed the B1 Centauro used in great effect in destroying Loyalist tanks and IFVs when deployed in small raiding parties. However, they were no match when faced with equal numbers of tanks. To make up for this, he decide to arm it with a larger, more powerful 120mm ETC cannon, and a pair of Lancer ATGM launchers.



Armament:
The M-72 Sentinel is armed with the M-785 120mm ETC L55 smooth bore cannon, a pair of Lancer ATGM Launchers, and a 14.5x105mm machine gun on a hatch mount. This give the M-72 considerable ability when engaging a wide range of targets.

M-785 120mm ETC L55 smooth bore cannon
The M-785 120mm ETC L55 Smooth bore cannon is the primary offensive weapon carried by the M-72. With a long range and high muzzle velocity, it can deliver long rod penetrators with sufficient speed and Kinetic energy to penetrate the equivalent of 900mm rolled homogeneous armor at 1200mm. This is enough to destroy most battle tanks at medium range. Although, it can be defeated by Explosive Reactive Armor. It can also fire a shotgun like projectile containing dozens of 10mm tungsten projectiles perfectly suited to engage lightly armored vehicles such as logistical trucks, light IFVs, parked aircraft, and massed infantry. This projectile is designed to kill entire squads that are hiding in thick vegetation, and in thin walled structures. The High Explosive rounds are filled with 12 kilograms of RDX and has much less propellant the other projectiles to make more room for the high explosive charge.

Lancer ATGM Launcher
The Lancer ATGM system mounted on the Sentinel is state of the art. The missiles are packaged in a two tube system. Each tube holds one Lancer ATGM. The missiles are fired one at a time out of the one use package. With a diameter of 234.8mm, each missile is stored inside a tube, 3 cm apart from the other. The launcher component is made up of several key components. The launch rail is located directly in the center between the two tubes that hold the missiles. At the base of each tube is an igniter. On the right side of the rail, there is a ignition coil. When a tube is on the rail, the coil completes the circuit with the igniter. When the missile is fired, a current is transfered into the coil, with goes into the igniter, which fires the rocket motor on the missile. On the rail is a motor that turns the tube to place on side of the tube on the firing coil. There is also a CO2 valve, which releases pressurized CO2, propelling the spent tubes forward and reading the rail for the next shot. The Magazine component is located at an angle in the side the hull, with one on the left, and another on the right side. At the bottom of the magazine is a piston, when activated, raises a missile tube up toward the the launch rail. Each magazine holds 3 sets of tubes. This gives the Sentinel considerable firepower in the field.

Hull Design:
The Front of the M-72 Sentinel Tank Destroyer is where to ends of the bottom armor plating and the top side slopes meet. The under side is mounted with 7 points that extend 40cm past the end of the point. This gives it the ability to punch through think vegatation such as hedgerows, and thin walls. When working with infantry, this gives them the ability to add an additional entry point into a structure. The side of the M-72 offers considerable protection against small arms fire. Although in capable of stoping tank rounds or ATGMs. Instead of raw protection it relies of speed and a knock out first punch to defeat enemy tanks.
