[S3] History of the Commonwealth and Territories of Kostemetsia
The Unified Kostemetsian Republic started out as a colony of United Earth. With Kostemetsia Prime originally being founded as an outpost in 2694 (as New Sol A b), in 2754 it had received ten militia regiments (ten thousand soldiers) and was officially classified a colony. In 2782, a platoon of one regiment staged a military insurrection, but the insurrectionists were captured by a "peacekeeper" UE force and shot. The New Sol A Colonial Administration retaliated against this massacre of its naturalised citizens in 2800, with its constitutional ratification and declaration of independence. After a three-year war, with the New Solic forces being led by the brilliant Colonel James Jackson, the UE forces finally drew up a non-aggression pact and granted the system's independence. In December 2803, the new Novasol state renamed itself Kostemetsia by popular vote, and established its governmental system.
