PRESS RELEASE:
Today Baldwin, Banks and Co. are proud to announce the commencement of production of a new export-version of the Tigro-Class Destroyer - one of the mainstays of the Royal Bruxellan Navy. This new and exciting class of vessel came about as a result of a competition run by the RBN who - noting the detrimental effect decisions to purchase Questarian-designed vessels were having upon Bruxella's own shipbuilding industry - decided it was in the Sovereign Kingdoms interest to stimulate competition amongst home-owned companies.
The new design was meant to complement the existing Type-29 Destroyers and, despite being slightly smaller and less costly to maintain, interchangeable with this class either on escort duties (accompanied by smaller numbers of more expensive, dedicated AAW/ASW vessels) or on lone patrol duties in those strategic areas where HSM Government deems it prudent to maintain standing patrols, in the defense of Bruxellan interests.
Realising the potential market for this product outside of the Sovereign Kingdom, Baldwin, Banks & Co. successfully applied for a Defense Export Permit - allowing them to sell this vessel freely to those nations not blacklisted by HSM Government.
