AP Release:

Alaskan citizens finally know peace.
After years of violent conflict a new nation has risen from the ashes. After the former nation of Nuclear Utopia fell into anarchy, several factions have been struggling for power and dominance.
Until recently a faction simply known as The Imperium had kept a low profile asking for peace amongst their fellow Alaskans, and for years the calls for peace remained unheeded. Nearing total exhaustion and facing the possibilities of foreign invasions the Imperium stepped up to the challenge.
Using military equipment left by other nations that had attempted to restore peace and black market arms, the Imperium declared martial law and put a quick silence to the ongoing chaos. Known looters and terrorists were quickly jailed. Once order was restored the government was quick to restore most civilian rights.
The newly installed Minister of foreign affairs had this to say, "We don't want to start off our role in the world on the wrong foot, so we're inviting other nations to open talks with us."
Citing that there is still a long ways to go until complete order and security is restored, the new government also announced the formation of the Imperial Foreign Legion. "Until complete security is installed they will be used mostly as an internal security force" the Minister of War stated in a press conference early this morning.

When these advertisements reached the Empire, thousands of young men, quite a number of them with some military training, moved to join the foreign legions of this new friend of the Empire.

A total 10,000 volunteers soon moved to join the Alaskan foreign legions.

The Legion's HQ was normally quiet. Since it's recent founding only a handful had joined it's ranks. In fact most of them were veterans of the recent local conflicts that had torn the land apart. "Uh, First Sergeant Moore?" Said Corporal Smith, the Legion's training Battalion clerk. The grizzled old Sergeant noted that the Corporal looked uneasy and replied "Yes? Whats up, Corporal?" "Sir, with your permission, I think we'd better get all the barracks up and running and get more supplies ASAP." Confused the First Sgt looked up from his work, and asked "Why?" "Sergeant, I just got a message from General Deppe and he's expecting roughly 10,000 recruits by next Thursday." Stunned, the Sergeant could only give the go ahead and picked up the phone to inform the Battalion's Commander, Major Rheinquist, who had an equal if not more stunned reply.
