In Politics: Premier Rein Wilhelms will be official innagurated as Latislavia's leader and his official term of office will begin tommorow, January 1st. " This new year will bring new changes, and a new hope", Wilhelms said earlier at a press conference," We hope that this new year will bring success for our new government. The government, a multi-party democracy, will know consists of six major parties: The Nationalist Party, (the party of PMR Wilhelms), the Communist Party, the Conservative Christian Party, the Liberal Christian Democratic Union, the Labour Party, and the new Free Republic Party.
In other news: Latislavia's borders have expanded after borders between old territories of the old empire were cut down, and now they are incorporated into Latislavia. This expansion has expanded the land area of Latislavia from 5,000,000 square miles to nearly 7,560,708 sq. mi. This new expansion has caused the government to change it's name. The new expansion has also bought in more religions and ethnic groups. It has bought in more ethnic Scandinavians, Muslims, and Jews. The name change debate goes to either from Democratic States or Confedration.
In Science: Scientists have discovered ethanol, from corn, to be another possible alternative fuel source. "The only problem," says top scientists Alfred Wycek," is that Latislavia doesn't grow enough corn for it to become reliable on it." After hearing this news, the government is also expected to set aside more land for agricultural purposes.
In sports news: The Latislavic National Team won their Fuutebal match last night 5-0. " This was an enourmous win for us," said Latislavia coach Ferg Bjork," its just what we needed to stay in contention." Latislavia will take on San Artemis on Jan. 4th at 6:00.
