Shattered Glass
A large Space Flagship, Type B6 (http://features.cgsociety.org/stories/2005_12/maya_7/spaceship.jpg), tugged through the Aroran asteroid belt on it's way to the East Ying O.M.S.C. Inter-Stellar checkpoint (http://www.seankreynolds.com/fortheeyes/graphics/SpaceStation.jpg). The checkpoint was little more than a hundred miles to the north of the flagship. As it approached, and docked the ship, cheers were heard from the crew of the flagship, who have been on the ship for more than 2 years since the last checkpoint. The crew of the ship and the station unloaded some of the crew's belongings, as other engineers repaired some minor flaws in the ship, that had been earned by the ship on it's way from Earth.
Docking Bay A15
"Attend Hut!" The general yelled as he walked of the ship. Immediately the crew formed a straight line in front of the general who had walked of the ship. Their green suits glistened in the dull light of the nearest star, Aroran. "Present." The general yelled.
"Major Mark Ying, sir."
"Pleasure to meet you, major."
"Private I. Lying sir."
"Thank You."
When he all the solders had presented themselves, he presented himself.
"I am General Joy Kin. I am here on behalf of the I.F. We need supplies for our trip to Angard, roughly 2 million miles from here. We plan to leave in 2 days."
Hastily the general left the solders.
2 Days Later
The turbines of the ship roared up as the last of the crew hurried on.
"This is ship 1B6 Alpha, turbines ready, all crew to stations."
"Roger that commander, all land crew ready, proceed with lift off."
A glare from the gravitational manipulators and the ship was off the ground.
"Engine One, Go"
"Engine Two, Go"
"Liftoff, proceed"
The ship slowly moved out of the docking area and out into the blackness of space. The glare from the engines moved off, until, to the ground crew, was a speck in the sky.
On The Ship
"We're being Attacked!"
"All hands on deck!"
"Man the guns!"
"Battle Stations!"
"Pilots, take your fighters and move out!"
"Fire at will you slow bastards!"
"--------"
Special Ops Recording Station
"We've seemed to lost all connections, sir."
"Show me the exterior recordings"
They watched as the video displayed several orb like creatures clinging to the ship, firing something, while other orbs fired at the bridge.
"So They have come...."
