IC:
It was a beautiful day in San Diego, it was sixty five degrees, and in typical Southern Calizstana weather, the sun shone brightly. A limo drove up to the VIP terminal on Lindbergh Field, and 5 men got one, one including Harry Verdugo the Transport Minister, who was going to a Ministry of Transport conference in Las Vegas.
As they walked in the terminal, Harry saw the C-135 that was to take them to the conference, and he muttered to his aide, John Reed "They sure don't want to take us in the latest in greatest.."
Harry whispered back "It may look old, but it's interior was just refitted, supposedly has T.V's and leather seats, and all of those goodies.." Harry whistled and he noted the new engines, and the new paint scheme for the airplane, he could read "Ministry of Transport" in black lettering on both sides.
As they boarded the jet, he sat down in the leather seats and he said to John Reed "I can't believe how comfortable these seats are. This is a 50+ year old airplane, but it feels brand new." As they taxied from the gate, onto the taxiway Delta, John Reed said "Harry, I don't know about you, but I've got a bad feeling about this flight." Harry replied "Relax John, you're always nervous about flying these days.."
John replied "I know Harry, but still, this is the worst I've felt in a long time on an airplane." Harry replied, they were now on the runway, the engines were powering up now, "John, it's inside a brand new aircraft, the engines have just been overhauled, and it's new basically." John sighed and he said "I'll try to relax Harry." He put in the earbuds, and took out his iPod Touch
and started to listen to "All Star" by Smash Mouth.
The plane was soon in the air, and headed towards Las Vegas.
At the Julian ATC center, James Madernson said to the C-135, which it's callsign was Transport Two "Transport Two, this is Julian Center, we request that you fly around the lightning storms that are headed your way, at five teen thousand feet, we request that you fly on a heading of two eight fiver over."
The pilot of the C-135 carrying Harry Verdugo and John Reed, responded "Roger Julian, we're going around over.." As he dialed in the altitude, he felt the turbulance of the mountains, and he said "Julian, this is Transport Two, we're encountering so much turbulance, we need you to get us out of here on a different heading over." Julian responded "Transport Two, we can't give you a heading out of that direction, Transport Two do you copy?"
The C-135 had gone off the radar of Transport Two!
James Madernson contacted the government, which sent out a telegram to all nations of the world that read:
"All Nations of the World, we request your help, a plane carrying the Transport Minister, Harry Verdugo, has gone missing in the Julian Area, which is 45 miles east of San Diego. He was also carrying a foreign media reporter, which may interest the nation in question.
Signed,
