"Crime is rapidly increasing within SilentScope003, and is expected to increase. We have done many policies in an attempt to stop this trend, including teaching all children how to kill a man from six paces, but all these efforts has failed.

The reason is because you can't stop crime. People will commit crime no matter what. Even with people with high police forces, all they do is drive crime underground, and crime is 'low', but cannot be wiped out. Instead, the only course of action is to regulate crime, not ban it.

Therefore, we are hereby enacting the 'Decriminalization Act'. From here on, in order to commit crime and break the law, you must pay a 75% tax on all reveunes gathered from the crime in question. All crimes must also be registered with the Police Station, so they know exactly what is going on and who is getting hurt.

That's it. Pay the tax, and our police will let you go and break the law. Don't pay the tax, and our police will use all means of force to compel you to pay that tax.

This new Act DOES NOT apply to breaking 'international laws'. If you break an international law, you WILL be punished. Don't go and commit genocide and expect to pay a 'tax' to get away. A murder of an innocent man, however, is allowed.

Much of the tax will be used to pay for police, so that they will be better able to collect the tax reveune, and so that they can help protect civilians from criminals (paying for any damages criminals done to civilians, for instance), and enforce international laws.

Brief Description: Hiring of a mercenary army and its use for the purposes of overthrowing the government of SilentScope003 and replacing it with a puppet government of Company bureaucrats for the purposes of administering an international trade cartel with the Company as a monopoly provider of all goods and services from and in SilentScope003.

OOC: Question: what if someone committed a crime, then committed tax fraud, another crime, in only paying a fraction of the 75% of their profits? Could they then pay 75% of the profits made from that crime? If so, could they keep doing this, layering tax fraud upon tax fraud, until they only pay a very small amount?

OOC: The Economics of such a move are well to be blunt "fucking" stupid. A meare 2 minutes of a move by any nation would destroy its economy and all society in question.

SilentScope003 Government overthrown by Police Officers, National Emergency Declared

An annoyed group of police officers has marched into the office of the Government, arresting the President of SilentScope003 and disbanding the People's Senate. The Police then seizes full control over SilentScope003 and renounce the 'Decriminalization Act'.

"The damage may have already been done," announced the Union of Police Stations, "but that does not mean that we can still rebuild. Crime is now illegal, and while the UN Law on 'ex post facto' prohibit us from doing anything to stop previous criminals, future criminals will suffer penatlies..."

The Union of Police Stations promise to write up a new consitution and then grant control over to non-police officers once crime goes down to 'low'. It is unlikely this will ever happen.

The coup was said to have been launched after the The Honourable Praetonian East SilentScope Co. offically registered themselves as a criminal sydnicate committing 'high treason'. The Police Officers, knowing that a simple invasion could very well topple the government, deciding that matters must be taken into their own hands.

When a government offical informed that the military coup was illegal, the Police Officers declared that they will pay the tax shortly, and then commenced with arresting the government offical.

All elections were to be suspended until a new consitution will be drafted. Dr. Bob has been recalled from his duty as "UN Ambassador", but Dr. Bob has announced intentions to stay in the UN until the 'rightful government' is restored.

Meanwhile, the Police Officers has begun getting rid of certain other laws that has been seen as "embarrsing" to the International Community. These laws include citizenship for animals, the banning of favorite colors, and the prohibition of all people with blonde hair from residing in SilentScope003.

No word on what punishment those arrested in the coup will get. The military has previously announced intentions to stage a counter-coup, but after the arrest of the lead General, the military has backed away from those plans and called for negogations.

Bankruptcy Notice - Honourable Praetonian East SilentScope Co.

Owing to unforseen circumstances, the Company has filed for bankruptcy under the Companies Act, 1835. Unfortunately the dream of seeing SilentScope003 overthrown and placed under the control of mercantilist Company bureaucrats is over.

"Sit down!" after yelling that he loaded a Colt Desert Eagle and placed it upon the metal table. The man he was yelling at was a POW from the nazi uprising that happened ever so long ago. The man who yelled, a Hawk, sat down and turned on his TV. There was the regular announcements then came a story about how in this one, SilentScope003, that there was a tax for crimes, you no longer had to get arrested, just pay a high tax for crimes. The Hawk then called his supervisors.

The Next Day

Two men stood a port with a clipboard and marked off who entered the boats. The men were all POWs from the nazi uprising and the boats were all heading for SilentScope003. The Grestonian Government would no longer have to put up with these scum of the earth.
