Third Age Of Purification, Council Chambers of the Cityship Celestial Harmony, In Orbit Above Aldebia, Capitol World Of The Holy Empire.

The Council Chambers of the City Ship were ornately decorated, intended to impress those not worthy of any stature within it, and to keep the wandering eye focused for those who were. For all its beauty, It served a singular purpose, to provide a medium for the Empire to meet and settle issues of the domestic and of the divine.

And in session today it was. From a frail creature seated in a floating device akin to a throne, Did a singular voice resound around the chamber.

"The Council recognizes the delegate representing our most devout disciples and stalwart warriors, Cha'zaan, Please enlighten the council." It said.

A tall figure stood amongst the ranks of the council, wearing ornate armour seemingly crafted to provide protection, comfort and stature. His multi-jawed mouth opened and began to speak.

"Thank you, Voice of the Way. As the council is no doubt aware, We have been pursuing the affront to the celestial order known as mankind for quite some time."

There were hushed murmurs from around the chamber, as they died down again, the one known as Cha'zaan continued.

"Our efforts have been... disrupted by the delaying tactics of these rodents, and by the will of the gods themselves, however - our ships have finally been able to pierce the area we have long called "The Barrier Of The God's" due to its recent dissipation and.." The council chamber silence broke as a few whispers of Heresy bounded around the room, before Cha'zaan was allowed to continue.

".. Hm, yes, And finally our fleet stands ready to leave our star cluster and pursue the creatures of mankind back to their lair - where we may finally remove the infestation as the way permits" Cha'zaan paused as the council chambers once again erupted into a frenzy of hushed murmurs. Cha'zaan finished speaking and attention shifted back to the original speaker.

"Very Well, All those in favour of dispatching assets needed to remove the infestation and restoring sanctity to the beleivers of the way, Deliver your assent now."

There was no dissension.

The Taliri System, Identified as home to the "infestation".

The Taliri system was, of course, unbeknownst to the Phi-Hyadian Empire - merely a offshot colony that had become home to a fledgling human civilization of its own.

With a homeworld holding 7 billion inhabitants, The Taliri had been shielded from the eyes of the Empire by a natural phenomena known to "The Barrier Of The God's", a phenomena the Taliri had navigated, and in doing so drawn the ire of the beleivers of the way.

Inconceivable Grace, Angelic Class Cruiser, Lead Vessel Of Battlegroup Harmony

Cha'zaan stood on the sleekly lined and professionally staffed bridge of the Inconceivable Grace. The Ship and its attached battlegroup of 12 vessels total had followed the retreat of the human fleet back to its home.

"For all we are told, I can not help but beleive these creatures have some semblance of sentience." Cha'zaan mused, mostly to himself.

"On Celestial Harmony, that would of got you branded as a heretic of the utmost contempt, Cha'zaan" A voice responded, a slightly smaller but similarly dressed figure of the same race responded, stepping out of the shadows behind Cha'zaan.

The Voice continued to speak as it came to Cha'zaan's side. "But It is lucky I am your friend, and that we are not there. Nonetheless, They are an infestation, and they have nowhere left to run."

"Indeed, we will purify their homeworld as we have done with their colonies, for that is what the way demands, Isnt that right Sal'vass?" Cha'zaan responded.

"Yes, and we would both do well to remember that in the presence of our.. brethren in faith." The one identified as Sal'vass responded, turning to note the several other crew members on the bridge, all of varying stature and species.

"Quite, Have the fleet move into orbit of the Fourth Planet and prepare for bombardment, it is the most dense in centres of population, their fleet numbers in the singular and we are not detecting any orbital installations, it seems our scout wave did their job well." Cha'zaan responded.

"As the way Commands." Sal'vass responded, turning to a station and tapping a series of keys.

"Ah, It would seem we have Four Vessels incoming, comparable in size and armnament to our lesser destroyer classes, the Merciful Ambivalence is intercepting." Sal'vass reported, keeping his eyes on the display in front of them.

"Very well, divert full power to the engines and begin fleet orbit routines, the time has come." Cha'zaan ordered.

In the space above the home of the Taliri, Eleven vessels assumed positions in low orbit, whilst in the distance there were four pinpoints of light as the last vessels of the Taliri navy were snuffed out.

"All ships in position and targetting vectors secured. All weapons are interfaced and ready for surface bombardment." Sal'vass told Cha'zaan, resuming his position at Cha'zaan's side at the centre of the bridge.

"Cha'zaan to all ships, As is the reward for those who do not know the way, Open Fire."

Sal'vass and Cha'zaan turnt to the viewscreen. Cha'zaan could not help but feel just a slight pang of regret as the first barrages annihilated every major urban centre on the surface.

He dismissed it, afterall, they were merely rodents, clever, but rodents - and afterall, the Way demanded it.

OOC: Oh yes, another Intro thread! Im using convenant influence, and im AWARE of it, so no posts going "lolconvenant" are really necessary, Im assuming anyone showing up is investigating the firestorm on the planet, or the dissipation of the natural phenomena that is allowing my ships out.

The Eternal Imperial Hegemony of Deatharon had long since been expanding their hegemonic influence to a variety of human colonies that had been scattered across the many sectors of the Galaxy. This meant that the Imperial Hegemonic Star Forces had many patrols going to and from the outer frontiers to hunt down likely worlds for assimilation into the Imperial Hegemony.

The problem was that sometimes rogue alien races liked to exterminate these potential worlds for their own expansion forcing the Hegemony and their citizens to constantly fight brush fire wars across many different star systems.

It would seem this would be another scenario as a Imperial Hegemonic Frigate on patrol would soon discover the increased solar activity of the system as the human colony burned from it’s massive firebombing from orbit.

The Imperial Hegemonic Frigate (http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c309/Xharnia/ImperialFrigate.png) “Imperial Wraith” under the command of Captain Alfred Sula II entered the system to investigate the strange readings from the long range sensors. The discovery would deeply anger him and his crew as his ship exited out of their artificial wormhole and entered the Taliri System.

The Imperial Wraith detected the unknown warships in orbit over the burning world and the Deatharoni warship immediately sent a hail to address these intruders:

This is the Imperial Wraith a frigate of the Eternal Imperial Hegemony of Deatharon. We demand an immediate explanation for your orbital bombardment of this world?

The Imperial Hegemonic frigate immediately powered up her weapons and shields and prepared to defend herself while initiating a distress signal to the Imperial Hegemonic Star Forces. It would soon draw the large fleet formations to this system….

Inconceivable Grace, Angelic Class Cruiser, Lead Vessel Of Battlegroup Harmony

Operations had resumed their normal pace as systems reported total surface destruction, Chaal'zan had seated himself and Sal'vass had returned to his position in the secondary commanders chair.

"Chaal'zan, An unidentified vessel has entered the system and its transmitting a message towards our position" Sal'vass informed his friend.

"Indeed? What do you make of it?" Chaal'zan responded.

"The ship design is unknown, however the language is similar to that used by the Taliri, with some differentiations. As with the rodents this language is simple, ineffective, without grace. It has also transmitted a message on another frequency out of this system" Sal'vass answered, tapping keys on his console once more.

"Interesting, Well, The way encourages understanding so let us take advantage of our first encounter outside of the Barrier, have the fleet perform a micro slip jump to the target. We shall disable it and learn what we can. Contact Celestial Harmony and inform the Speakers of our encounter.. And, Do not jam the alien vessel, let us see who they dare bring against the will of the way."

The 12 ships hovering in orbit and turnt, powering out of the immeadiate gravity well of the now burning world. The sleek ships reflected the light of the now passed massacre below, almost seeming to revel in the destructive light before their forms coalesced and disappeared into the ether.

Within a few moments they were re-appearing around the alien vessel. There was only one transmission as weapons systems powered up ready to disable the enemy, and boarding parties were readied.

"Surrender to the way."

OOC: Language is extremely complex, with syntax's for relative position from homeworld and certain individuals and vessels and religious sites etc etc, So you arent expected to understand that as of yet.

On the Bridge of Imperial Wraith…….

Captain Alfred Sula II was a natural born Deatharoni a descendant of the first colonists to Deatharon Prime. The throne world of the Hegemony and as such he was not born a natural human but was genetically engineered as were his forefathers all the way back to the beginning of their existence.

The Deatharoni were naturally a warlike people being forced to fight off alien incursions and rival human colonies to establish their Empire that would one day after several years of brutal expansion and heavy handed political oppression of conquered subject worlds would eventually become a giant interstellar Hegemony incorporating several human star systems under the benevolent rule of the current Imperial Hegemon Victor Von Antheron XXII.

The genetically engineered humans of Deatharon Prime used their increased physical and mentally conditioning to form the core nucleus of the Hegemony serving as it’s administrators and elite guardians while the subjects and citizens of incorporated worlds were given the lesser tasks of serving as low ranking workers and foot soldiers of the Hegemony’s armed forces. This relationship had created a lot of resentment within the confines of the political system but the fear the Deatharoni inspired is what got them their power in the first place. The Deatharoni unlike their citizens saw themselves as superior creatures and as such refused to allow the lesser citizens to see them without their encounter suites (http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c309/Xharnia/XharnianDeathKorps.png) which the Deatharoni wear at almost all times.

These suites provide not only protection from hostile environments but also served as intimidating armor when dealing with new worlds. The Deatharoni were at this time infamous for coming to new human worlds and offering their “protection” and the sight of seven foot tall super soldiers dressed in armor with glowing red eyes would often get most worlds to quickly agree to become incorporated rather quickly to the Hegemony’s way of thinking.

Captain Alfred Sula II was such a Deatharoni and he looked upon the advancing alien ships with a look of pure hatred. His suite hid his facial features but his bridge crew knew that their commander was in a foul mood about what had happened to the world down below.

The human bridge officers watched from the view screen as the alien message was being decoded by the ship’s A.I. system a tricky process considering the language seemed needlessly complex like several species were trying to say something all at once.

This mumbo jumbo did not impress the Captain and he looked upon his first officer Zachary Yeager a human from some outer world that had managed to work his way from the bottom of the Imperial Hegemonic Star Forces to first officer of the Imperial Wraith a rather high position for a non Deatharoni but still an impressive feat for a mere human.

Zachary Yeager noticed his Captain was looking at him and said, “Captain, I believe the enemy is trying to surround our position and force us to surrender. It seems a simple tactic consider their numerical superiority over us at the moment.”

Captain Sula nodded with agreement and responded in a computerized monotone voice thanks to his suite communication translator, “I understand First Officer, I want you to initiate a warning shot with our forward molecular disintegrator cannons. I believe that will show our intentions to fight to the death to protect ourselves and our citizens from alien aggression.”

The first officer nodded to his superior officer and barked the orders to the tactical officer…

The Captain stared back into the screen and sat back down on his command chair as he quickly switched on the red alert button on the armrest of his chair. This alert would put the whole crew on battle stations. The one hundred and fifty man crew quickly mobilized for combat as security personnel both human and Deatharoni quickly gathered their plasma rifles and prepared to be boarded. The humans quickly donned on personal combat armor as their Deatharoni counterparts already armored formed the initial defense line around the key systems such as the bridge and the engine room.

The human security personal on the other hand would be in charged with being the counter muscle to push back any boarding attempts. The Imperial Wraith’s crew were now ready for a ship to ship fight as the following events would surely lead to war…..

***********************************************************************************

The Imperial Wraith aimed her first forward energy weapon just above the enemy vessels to avoid a direct hit. The weapons were designed to break down the molecular matter to it’s base particles turning them into dust. Thus the name of the weapons the molecular disintegrator cannons which fired a purple like beam directly above the alien ships in a display of power to show the Hegemony could throw down with the best of them.

The ship’s other weapons the torpedo bays and the point defense grid were also on standby along with the ship’s energy shield which was running at full power. It would clearly show it’s defiance to the aliens to the very end….

The Outer Frontier of the Eternal Imperial Hegemony of Deatharon…….

The Augusta Task Force of the 4th Imperial Hegemonic Fleet was the closest fighting force to pick up the distress signal from the Imperial Wraith. The Commander of the Taskforce: Task Force Commander Isabella Sularand was assigned the task of intercepting this alien menace and exterminating it quickly to avoid another alien incursion into Imperial Hegemony space.

Task Force Commander Isabella was quite excited about this turn of events considering this was her first real combat order and thus her first mission to prove herself a worthy Deatharoni warrior. The young Commander quickly ordered her taskforce of twenty two vessels to begin a wormhole jump into the coordinates of the Taliri System. It would take several hours for such a large body of mass to reach the destination as the warships entered the event horizon of their artificial wormhole with the intent of saving humanity from this terrible scourge that dared to challenge their supremacy of the stars….

OOC:

A breakdown of the taskforce:

A small pulse of radiation, and they slip into the system. No one before has seen a Setian Battleship, and hopefully, it will remain that way. The single Destroyer that comprises its escort is a massive construct, but even that 3 kilometer long hulk is dwarfed by the 15 kilometer long Armageddon, the first Battleship to have been commissioned. It's presence in the home system was no longer necessary, it was in turn dwarfed by the recently commissioned Dreadnought that had taken its place in high orbit. Now it commanded what was a fleet in name only.

<They are here. Ship designs match those of the First War. Possibly an affiliated faction. Power signatures are different, as are transponder codes. My conclusion is that these are an offshoot, or perhaps those we encountered were the offshoot. In any case, first contact protocols for human slaver vessels are clear. Numbers are imbalanced, and based on emissions, our vessels have greater drive field strength, and more powerful weaponry. Their shielding is slightly different, but it is only slightly superior to our own. Assess any further human presence within the system, and engage as dictated by the Elder. Other unidentified vessels may also be human. Assumption is hostility towards humans. We will contact them once the humans are dealt with.>

<Understood. Open a channel. They will be given a chance to surrender and scuttle their vessels.>

Human vessel. You are ordered to stand down, deactivate all defenses, cease any operations in this system, and abandon your ship. Failure to comply will be construed as an aggressive action and continued prosecution of your baseless war against us. Any aggressive action will be met with force. You nearly destroyed us once, humans. Never again shall you have that opportunity.

The leonine captain fades from view as the message ends, leaving only the threat of his vessels weapons to let the humans know that today they face the reckoning.

OOC: I am assuming the Andermani have encounter ships like mine but have never really encountered the Deatharoni Hegemony. This could lead to a very tense situation considering my people will now see you and the Phi Hyades as the aggressors of this war. I am also assuming my people can understand your language considering it seemed like you were trying to make a very clear threat to my frigate…

IC:

The Captain watched the message that he received with great interest as the alien leader sent a message demanding that the crew abandon ship and power down the defenses. Captain Alfred Sula was no fool to alien trickery and deception.

The Andermani would fire upon his fleeing shuttles as soon as they tried to abandon ship and powering down weapons in a hostile situation was just stupid considering the enemy had already shown intent on wiping out all human life in this area.

The seven foot tall captain looked upon his human shipmates and decided to let them all die a warrior's death, rather than become prey out in the merciless cold of space. The Captain opened a channel personally and sent his reply in full encounter suite bravado along with his computerized monotone voice…

This is the Imperial Wraith a warship of the Eternal Imperial Hegemony of Deatharon. We have been sent here to discover lost human colonies and incorporate them into our Hegemony. We were currently exploring this region of space when we picked up large amounts of radiation and solar activity from this system . We thus came to investigate and discovered these alien ships in orbit over a burning world.

We naturally assumed the worst and have already begun combat operations to expel these intruders from Imperial Hegemonic space. If you side with this rogue alien power. The Imperial Hegemony will have to assume you are in league with them and a declaration of war shall be given to you and your people……

The Captain’s image faded into darkness as the message ended giving most of the human crew a very cold feeling to hear their captain initiate such a command…..

OOC: You're still IoM based I assume, so yes.

IC:

Defiance is futile. You take it upon yourselves to judge the actions of others. Arrogant humanity, as always taking it upon yourselves to decide the fate of those you encounter. Death you have requested, and so shall you reap.

Particle cannon lit up along the length of the Andermani ship, raking the defiant human vessel with fire powerful enough to sink continents and even shatter planets given sufficient time. The two ships accelerated hard, going from a near stop to over 20 kilometers per second per second almost instantaneously. The Deatharon Frigate had invited doom upon its head by defying a pair of ships of unknown power and configuration, as well as another dozen unkown vessels. These were aparently either very foolish humans, or very arrogant ones.

OOC No my nation is not IOM based not anymore. We are just another advanced interstellar power that has had a lot of bad experiences with aliens leading to a very xenophobic attitude toward alien civilizations.

IC:

The bridge….

“Captain, Shields down to sixty percent and falling!” screamed the tactical officer as the explosions from the enemy energy fire raked the frigate in a brutal onslaught of fire and destruction.

The Captain immediately went to action and sent his orders to his officers, “Initiate Attack pattern Alpha 001, We need to get some distance between us and these enemy vessels that have us surrounded before they decided to join in and fire at us at point blank range!”

“Acknowledged!” cried the helmsmen as he initiated the movement protocols to the ship’s A.I. The Eternal Imperial Hegemony was now at war and could fight back now that the first shots had been fired…

*****************************************************************************************

The Deatharoni frigate began to lumber away from their attackers as the ship’s weapons trained at the Andermani vessels and fired a salvo of five purple beams at the enemy vessels. The molecular disintegrator cannons were switched to auto fire and every ten seconds another shot was unleashed at the Andermani vessels aiming for the ship's engines and bridge in the hopes to perform a one shot one kill scenario.

The six torpedo bays however unleashed their salvo of destruction on the Phi-Hyadian vessels. The torpedoes were equipped with anti matter warheads and were programmed by the ship’s A.I. to target the forward vessels that were in front of the frigate. The goal seemed obvious enough distract the aliens and use the line of fire to make an escape route to make a wormhole jump towards the outer frontier.

It was a desperate maneuver but the odds were against them as the Deatharoni vessel continued to take hit after hit from that particle cannon…

Inconceivable Grace, Angelic Class Cruiser, Lead Vessel Of Battlegroup Harmony

Cha'zaan watched intensely as first, an ineffective warning shot was fired, then another unknown species entered the fray. It was however with warning, albeit minor, that the firefight began.

"Our systems have been able to successfully splice a language conversion matrix for the new arrivals, their sentience is indeed superior to that of the parasitic humans. I suggest w.." Sal'vass was cutoff by the Battlenet.

"Incoming Warheads, probability of interception by on-board system, Minor, Advise action"

"By the way, Evade!" Chl'zaan cried as the ship shook from a series of warhead impacts.

"Minor Damage, Speaker's Fury intercepted and took impact from remaining warheads. They have suffered minor engines system damage and negligible hull damage."

"If that Battlenet keeps up with this, you wont need me anymore.. The Human vessel is making a break for it, the Fury looks like it shifted position and their using the gap its made." Sal'vass said.

"Move us directly into the damn human vessels path, we are not loosing our prey. Order all vessels to ignore the newcomers and focus on the human's engines, I dont care if they shoot a friendly in the process, Just do it!" Cha'zaan ordered, as he rised from his chair and glared at the viewscreen angrily.

"And for the way, tighten up the formation and try and tell the non-humans to be careful who they shoot!" Cha'zaan barked

"As the way commands." Replied Sal'vass.

As the battlegroup turnt and twisted and began to focus its attention on the fleeing vessel, a singular message was transmitted to the "Andermani" vessels.

"As the way commands, Wish understanding, disable rodents for much to be learnt for us of new enemies, the divine know their friends, we gift you the friendship of the way."

It was simple, but it would suffice, At least - Sal'vass hoped.

For all humanity lies in peril, and this is necessary. For dominion leads only to stagnation, in grand power lies the seeds of our destruction. Remember this, and suffer the alien to live.
- Perolai, First Watcher under the Unbroken Eye

There were no ships in-system. The Unbroken Eye was not so weak, so crude as to have to intimidate other races into compliance. The conflicts between the Andermani and the Deatharoni were watched with interest, but truly only idle interest.

Worlds burnt and died at the commands of some, but humanity would prosper. It had always been so. Rather, the Eye served the longterm interests of mankind, and here, there were many ways they could be served. The worst among all possible choices would be to annihilate the aliens.

Oh, it could be accomplished - and with relative ease, no less. The Andermani were very proud of their accomplishments, but they were less than nothing compared to even the tiniest sliver of humanity, who were the Unbroken Eye. They were no real threat. These newer people had successfully depopulated a world.

Aristedes smiled. Mankind was able to depopulate worlds before even he had left his own. No, there was nothing special about either of them. If they continued on their present course, however, they would certainly be destroyed, allowing his race to fall back in complacency, sloth. That was a real danger.

Radio messages were easy enough to disseminate, and, throughout the system, one came, to the followers of the way.

I would have you know, alien, that you are being watched. You may have a petty victory against the least part of the least part of mankind, if you will it. Play with caution, however. I would not have you crushed before your time.

A second, to the Andermani.

You enter conflicts too easily, too willingly, when you have not the power to see them through to the end. I once believed you had potential for our ends. You are rapidly whittling it away, however.

As if from nowhere, not even the tiniest dimensional disturbance to say where the messages had come from, the messages came. There would be no oppurtunity to reply. The Unbroken Eye would continue to watch, and, if the time came, perhaps - perhaps they would act.

The Imperial Hegemonic Frigate did not stand chance against such overwhelming firepower of both the Phi-Hyadian and Andermani vessels. The escape route was blocked just when the frigate was about to squeeze through and make a jump for open space.

The worst part about the whole thing was the engines were hit by incoming enemy fire and this knocked down the rest of the already depleted shielding and caused severe damage to the armor hull of the frigate.

The point defense systems were using everything in their arsenal to withhold enemy projectiles while the ship tried to take very evasive maneuvers to avoid being destroyed outright by the Andermani particle cannon.

*******************************************************************
On the Bridge…………

Captain Alfred Sula II watched his ship being picked apart by enemy fire. The view screen showed the enemy pounding his vessel and his own ship’s futile efforts to fight back using their energy weapons at maximum efficiency to hit as many enemy targets as possible.

The Deatharoni Captain looked upon his human bridge crew and said, “Prepare, to be boarded we are now dead in the water! I shall remain here and set the self destruct codes to destroy all our Hegemony’s technology and secrets to prevent these genocidal aliens from getting their vile hands on such crucial information.”

The bridge crew nodded and prepared to take positions to the shuttle hanger. It was standard tactic at this point for the human non combat personnel to evacuate the ship while the security forces stayed and fought to the last man to protect the vessel.

This policy was implemented by the Imperial Hegemonic Star Forces as a way to prevent key people from being captured and to prevent enemies from taking hostages from non combat personnel.

It would only be a matter of time before the Andermani and the Phi-Hyadian would detect the fleeing shuttles. The Captain whispered a silent prayer to Minax to protect his escaping crew as he and his fellow warriors gathered to prepare for the coming onslaught. The First Officer Zachary Yeager smiled and replied, “Captain, let us give these alien bastards a taste of what the Hegemony can due in a stand up fight!”

The Captain’s smile could not be seen thanks to his encounter suite but his expression showed pleasure at the thought of killing these creatures with his bare hands as he tightly gripped his plasma rifle and prepared to initiate the self destruct code that would destroy his ship in 10 hours time, if victory was unachievable…
