Unii Scout Ship Unity
The small scout ship plied through the far rim of Omicron Zetan space. They had now exited the reaches of the Home Worlds, the first ship to do so. At the helm sat Uniimatrix Unity, a holographic AI in control of the ship that manifested himself as a humanoid with an eerie blue glow. Omicrons, humanoids of Caucasian appearance, stood at the various stations arranged in a square around Uniimatrix Unity. No Zetans were to be found, as they were relegated to positions involving harder labor. They were busy performing the jobs that kept the ship running.
“Let’s go somewhere.” Unity ordered. With that, he pressed a button on the console and activated the faster-than-light drive. It was the first of its kind in the Union. The ship powered down for a moment, and the Omicrons looked around as the lights dimmed noticeably. Unity crooked a holographic eyebrow and pressed the intercom.
“What’s going on down there?” he asked forcefully.
A low voice replied. “I don’t know, sir. It’s quizzical. Lemme just-“ There was the sound of a kick and the lights returned. “Oi, that’s a major design problem right there. That’ll need to be fixed.”
“Just get us on whatever way we should be on.” Unity ordered.
“Right.” There were sounds of rustling about and a spark. In an instant the ship leaped to the speed of light. “We’ll have to fix that.” the voice said.
Unity rolled his holographic eyes and clicked the intercom off. “Where are we?” he asked of the navigator.
“Uncharted space.” the navigator said sarcastically. “Nothing we have maps for. We are the first Unii ship to go outside the Zone.”
“That’s supremely unhelpful.” Unity said. He became silent.
After three hours of travel, Unity spoke again. “Take us out of FTL.” he said. The ship slowed on his command.
“Alright.” he said, surveying the view of the area they had halted at on the ship’s monitor. “Let’s get oriented here.”
