///System Overload///

"I'm tellin' you man, this'll rock your world like nothing else!" said a young man with jet black hair.

"I don't know, Jak" replied is obviously nervous friend who held the plug by his fingertips and examined it.

"You already got the connector man, you just need to connect, Tom." Jak said, leaning in. Tom reached around to the back of his neck at the base where there is an attachment, mesh with the skin with a small hole designed for a plug. "It's a whole new experience. Everyone's connecting to The Frame. Everything you can ever imagine is at your control. Your memory increases. I haven't studied for a damn exam ever since I got it, that's why I get those grades."

"You sure, Jak?" Tom asked, feeling the plug in the back of his neck. His parents were nervous about letting him get a connector for The Frame.

"It's too late to turn back, the world's looking forward, not backward. We're advancing everday. Soon, we will be The Frame. The line between man and machine will blur forever, just try it" Jak smiled and took the plug from Tom which the other end was attached to the computer. "Just relax".

The plug entered the back of his neck, it felt weird and cold. But soon, a warm sensation spread from the plug and encumbaced his whole body, it was an out of body experience and his head dipped down.

"I'm...I'm merging with The Frame!" Tom replied, feeling the rush of information and data, streaming across The Frame. Endless volumes of information. The Frame is descended from the long obsolete Internet. With advances in technology, mankind can connect directly thanks to cybernetics. he streamed through the data line.

Suddenly, something felt strange. A glitch, slight and almost unnoticeable at first. A red light flashed on the screen. Tom was weightless in the Cyberworld, light cubes surrounding him, he reached for one which suddenly began spinning and halted, turning red.

"Didn't they ever teach you about peer pressure?" asked a young woman, her voice omnipresent.

"What do you mean?" Tom asked, "You are you?"

"I am the cure for the virus..."

"What virus?"

"The human virus...we are not what was meant to be, we are a corruption of the original software. A corruption that has spread and destroyed so much that it must be stopped." the voice continued, "I am here to cleanse the system, reboot the system...starting now"

A shockwave of pain surged through his body as the young boy screamed and cringed. Back in reality he fell from the chair and impacted the ground. Jak stood up, startled. The others in the cyber cafe looked bewildered. The pulse continued through his body, short circuiting the connector, sparks flying from the computer. Jak reached down and pulled out the plug which was red hot and casted it to the side. There was a moment of silence as others gathered around. One of the operators for the cafe picked up a phone and began to dial for medical services.

"Tom, are you okay?" Jak laid a hand on his friend's shoulder. There was no reply. Unexpectadly, Tom stood up, his eyes blank, almost black. "You alright?"

"I am fine" Tom replied devoid of emotion, almost like a machine of sorts. He shot an arm out which wrapped around Jaks neck and lifted him up into the air, his feet dangling. The grip tightened and tightened till there was an audible snap and he casted the limp rag doll to the ground. There was a horrified scream from the crowd and they scattered, rushing out of the door, jamming it up. Tom, or whatever was left of him began to rampage through the cafe, smashing computer screens, ripping out hard drives, tearing cords from the walls, pounding his fist into the walls.

A young girl hid under the counter, a new worker who served beverages and snacks at the bar. Tom turned his attention to her and grabbed her, he muffled her screams...

OOC: This is an open rp similar to Ghost in the Shell. There's a special unit that investigates tech crimes and serve as a reactionary team to extreme tech crime offenses.

//Situation Room, Cybernetic and Technology Crime Unit//

The situation room had leveled seating with tables at each row that ascended upwards. In the front on the wall were several screens surrounding a large one. It was plain but high tech. Lt. Kazimirez crossed his arms and closed his eyes for a moment. he was waiting for the others to arrive, including Section Chief Alexander Cross. he was at home, relaxing from their last assignment with a Level III violation was detected in the downtown area. Kaz, as he was known was one of the operatives for the CTCU which dealt with all crimes tech related. As society and technology advanced, so did criminals who know benefited from the use of technologically advanced hardware and equipment. It was a demanding job which he didn;t mind, seeing how he had nothing else to do except relax and wait for another assignment, which there was always another one.

half the time he sits at a computer and connects to The Frame, tracking down trace evidence of Frame Crime. But, field work always appealed to him the most. The Archangel City Police asked for their assistance in a situation at a cyber cafe.

"Lt. Kazimirez, how nice to see you" Chief Cross said as he entered the room with a folder, taking off his glasses.

"I was relaxing, sir" Kaz said in a flat, monotone voice.

"Well, tech criminals don't give a damn" Cross replied as he set the folder down and adjusted his collar.

Alfegos Ministry of Communications

It was strange to think the Ministry of Communications had once dealt with the archaic mobile phone, or even the prehistoric form of communication that was the postal service. Nowadays, they only dealt with the administration and moderation of Fego'Capu'lecrt II, the new internet.

Sure, some people still used the primative form of connecting to the global network illegally on hacked connections to the satellite cluster. They weren't able to appreciate though the complexity of the FCL.

Inside the ministry, people walked around, apparently normal. On closer inspection, one could note the rounded red unit underneath their right ears and the silvery glove on their right hands. What an observer couldn't see though were the hundreds of lights in fornt of their eyes that were their connection to the FCL. It still had connection to the rest of the world, through a constantly maintained firewall, and was able to display updated pages. But the real sensual pleasure lay in the visiting of Alfegan sites. One could be immersed in all the bodily senses, watch 3D films and take part in the ultimate of online games. All for a monthly sum of Æ20.00.

Inside the firewall command centre, that covered 8 floors of the FCL tower reaching up 820m into the sky, the command matrix uplink viewed by 20 overseers went into warning mode: a threat had been detected in a foreign country. Within seconds, a lockdown had been placed on the country. The Frame had always posed the system with a difficulty in converting the full neural interface into the basic sensory reception experience by users of the FCL.

Message flickered in mid-air on the IM program that came with the system.

"What's been detected?"
"It appears they had a temporary system anomaly."
"Explanation?"
"Unauthorised download: it appears the system automatically performed an unauthorised download."
"But that is impossible. The system does not allow those downloads into the brain, only in the way of page memory storage."
"Keep the lockdown up except for Level Beta-1 requests, and get a search on that download."
"I have a supsicious feeling about this: remember Terminator?"
"I doubt they would allow AI above Level 6.1 to develop on their systems."
"If the download was to an organic source, get onto the senate. We don't want malicious AI in organic form."

OOC: This is wide open for anyone interested. Also, it's very similar to Ghost in the Shell.
