This thread is for the OOC coordination of an encounter that will end in the repatriation of Abh POWs presently in Kanuckistani hands - specifically, one of his major characters - catalysed by a third-party attack upon the Hospital Ship by which they're being transported, and it's escort.

Participation is presently limited to myself, Abh, and Tidan.


The basic sequence of events thus far discussed is as follows:

Kanuckistani task force enroute home jumps into empty interstellar space and cycles their drives to continue the trip, having been preceded by displaced "forerunner" recon drones to insure the area was clear.

Tidani Pirates attack, break through the escort, and board the hospital ship. HS command crew should be killed, and Abh POWs should be armed to help defend the ship, and their lives.

Abh forces near by recive a distress call related from a KAG installation(because ya can't jam entanglement), and with the help of arriving KAG assets drive the pirates off.

Abh POWs transfer to their nation's ships and go home.

Kanuckistan dissolves the local pirate problem.

I think we just have to nail down the exact reason why Tidan's pirates are attacking me - the target's not exactly a lone freighter, afterall, and Kanuckistan is supposed to have a rather discouraging reputation amoungst pirates(tho it is a big galaxy, so we could wave that away).


Also, Tidan, I'm curious as to your weapons ranges, ballpark-wise. Myself, I sling ~lightspeed beams out to around a half-dozen light-seconds or so(tho effctive range is limited by the practicalities of lightspeed delays VS moving targets), and sublight missiles with indefinate range.

Well they could be anything we want. As far as I know no one said the pirates were mine, I was just asked to rp them. Personally I use focused energy beams and missiles at range and tend to use kinetics up close. I don't attempt numbered values, they would all be complete bs anyway since I don't know what I'm talking about.

It is possible that not all pirates have heard of you anyways Kanuck. Tidan said that his were mostly forced out by his government. I don't know how you wouldn't to run them after our thread where were hunting them down. I suppose you could say that the last remaining pirates were on the run and out of supplies. Stumbling over ships as large as Kanucks would prove tempting and desperate men tend to not always think rationally.

Aye, as I said, it's a big galaxy - most people probably don't even know most others exist(seriously, how many of the almost 200 nations iRL can you name? And that's just one planet).


As for your proposal, it's a good one, and I suggested a few myself when trading TGs with Tidan befor making the thread.

Tho ultimatly, I suppose it's not realy important what Tidan decides upon, so long as it's plausable and works for him. I just don't like the notion of creating suicidal mooks so the PCs have something to kill, hence the insisting on working out the who and why of the pirates.
