Faxanavia Outlaws Political Parties! (MT|Open|ATTN: World)

Faxanavia

0900 Hours, December the 21st, Vallingard, Faxanavia

The Imperator's palace (previously the newly rebuilt Hall of Freedom) was abuzz with much hustle-and bustle. Men and women dashed everywhere, and the sound of angry shouts came from outside the front doors, where massed crowds of angry people stood. The reason for their anger? Law 6199: the outlaw of all political parties in Faxanavia by order of the Imperator himself. Every single political party in Faxanavia, including the Imperator's Republic party, was disbanded, and anyone found to be practicing any political doctrine could be brought before a court, tried, and sentenced for up to five years jail time.

In his office, the Imperator, Hephaestus Blackforge sat, feet propped against his desk. The palace would withstand the attack, and eventually people would go home. They just didn't realize; sure, they had to give up some political rights, but it was for the good of the people. He smiled. Surely, they would understand it. Sooner or later...

Despite reassurance from the imperator himself, the president was still a bit dubious of his reasoning. More political freedoms going? The leader had not appeared to be a bad one, yet whatever he was planning was big.

"We're going to have to keep an eye on him. Can we get spyware into their system?"
"Negative, the government use an intranet, seperate to the main internet."
"Well, we'll just keep an eye on them for now. If they try anything, remember Valhalla, Mailstrom and White flash..."
"The systems are still operational: the last time whiteflash was used was beyond my memory, but the Valhalla system was used quite recently, to try and help bang heads together. As for mailstrom, that one is still untested."
"I just don't like this. Not one bit. Remember that as soon as they start anything that threatens us or their people, we will cripple them."
"Yes Mr President."

The Consul left the office, to sit in the congregating senate. The discussion for morning period was the rebuilding of Milkavich. Interesting, perhaps.
______________________________

"This is Mailstrom command, we have all nodes online."
"Send the package."

A virus was sent out from 60 severs across the world. They were specifically designed to enter computers, many of them Faxnavian. The virus would then become dormant, and wait for the command to use each node to send a storm of spam e-mails at any targets. A very good project indeed, if it could shut down a large swath of infastruture computers, or at least cripple a few hundred companies.

0915 Hours; Hotel Room facing the Imperator's Palace
Vallingard; Faxanavia

From across the square, the operative watched the crowds of angry Faxanavians massing in front of the doors of the palace. Many held placards and their chants could be heard clearly despite the double-glazed windows. They were protesting at the latest assault on their political freedoms - the outlawing of all organised political activity. It was just the latest in a long-running campaign against democracy in Faxanavia. The operative reached for his PDA, pressing his thumb against it to activate the device.

Situation deteriorating. Political parties outlawed. Mass public protests. End transmission.

Official Statement of the Federal Republican Duchy of Franberry

It has come to the attention of the Federal Republican Duchy that the nation of Faxanavia has outlawed Political Parties. This is an offense of the highest order towards democracy and liberty and displays a complete and utter disregard for the rights of man. We have no doubt that the international community shall not be pleased at this ridiculous act, and that there shall be a reckoning upon Faxanavia if they do not undo their malicious act.

The Imperator is resembling an inept totalitarian despot, and he must prove to the world that he is not. As of now, Franberry has established a complete stoppage of all trade that might be happening in regards to the nation of Faxanavia.

We hope that you shall see the reason in liberty,

President Joolitan,
We thankyou for your imput, and suggest that you reconsider your stance. These political parties create a system wherein bureacracy halts progress. Before the time of the Imperator, Faxanavia did not truly stand to its fullest potential. Though it may restrict some political rights once given to the people, it is done in the name of nothing but the people, for without progress, there is no people. We regret to hear of your blockade upon our nation, but we understand that you have yet to see the light of progress. Until then, we, too, shall be closing all trade to the nation of Franberry.

Respectfully yours,
Hephaestus Blackforge

We thankyou for your kind words of support to our actions. We are glad that the government of the Red Tide has seen the light of progress, and will continue to shine as a beacon of hope in a time so befuddled by the inefficiency of democracy.

The Grand World Order

The Grand World Order supports Faxinavia in it's destruction of bureaucracy, a cancer that leads to chaos and anarchy. Democracy practices the idea that the people control the government. We at the GWO do not believe in this idea. The Government's job is to control the people, enforce the laws, and protect the people from both each other and foreign attacks. Democracy leads to Controversy, and Controversy leads to Division, and Division leads to Civil War. People cannot rule themselves, simply because most are too ignorant and filled with the lies of society. Democracy allows people to control the government, control something they know nothing about.

We support your "cure" for the terrible disease that is democracy, but we also send the vaccine to division, why the democratic theory is flawed, civil liberty and freedom is as true as the sun is bright, the goverment of any nation does not know what the people truly need until it has is people behind them willingly, show your people freedom, to speak, to write what they desire, show your people the excellence of civil liberties, and they will show you loyalty, show the people why they WANT you and not NEED you, for in the end the people know what they need more than any goverment ever will, and it is the people that are a backbone of any nation, without your backbone, your peoples support, no goverment can survive.

We thankyou for your agreement with our concepts of government. However, we feel that the concepts which you attempt to embrace, such as those of freedom of political parties, defeats your own statements. While we support many civil freedoms- no person may be descriminated against within the Grand Imperial Federation- we feel that it is a necessity for certain political rights to be restricted on the grounds of the betterment of the populace at large.

Two Bums on the street, the City of the Blessed

Bum 1: I can't believe your running for mayor.

Bum 2: Hey, what is this Faxanavia? I'm free to be a member of a political party, and run for office, it's in our now constitution.

Bum 1: Faxanavia? What are you talking about?

Bum 2: You know, Faxanavia, they outlawed political parties, basically making it impossible to run for any elected office. Man, you got to get out of your box more often.

Bum 1: Sorry Mr. I read the constitution, and I'm running for mayor. This is a great way to get votes by the way, insult people who could be voting for you.

Bum 2: I didn't even know you voted.

Bum 1: Well you know what, I just might this time, just so I can vote against you. How do you like that?

While I am somewhat surprised at this move coming so soon after your taking over as leader for life, Orzio will not take any action either way towards our ally. I believe that this in an internal affair, one that does not need approval of other nations unless the situation gets out of hand an destabalizes the region.

For the sake of calming your citizens, have you given thought to a democracy of show? Perhaps the illusion of democracy, in the form of a parliment, could sway them from their protests. You of course would have the final say on any thing passed, but it still looks like a democracy to the masses. Give it some thought.

We thank the suggestions of Emperor Atoxon, and wish to indicate to him that we do, in fact, have such an establishment. The Senate of Faxanavia now may hold the power to defy the law of the Imperator only by unanimous vote (though the Imperator may overturn any descision by the senate.) The 160 seat Senate represents the people, and may bring the feelings of the people forward before the Imperator, to be decided upon as the Imperator wishes.

You have mis-understood what I have said, I do not have politicial parties, I merely said allow your people to say that they don't agree, not allowing political parties, just allowing your populace the freedom to openly speak as they want about the goverment and the job it is doing, while we do whole-heartedly agree with your dicision to outlaw political parties, your people should have a voice to speak on open ears, because goverments should be there for their people not for themself.

The Kiravian Empire congratulates and applauds the Faxnavians for peacefully overthorwing the false principals of prtisan democracy.

Kiravia is a Nonpartisan Civilocratic Democracy. Banning parties ensures that leaders are elected more for their true political views, and also that they will not bend to the will of their party. It stops legislative bodies from becoming nothing more than a useless deadlock between two parties(and yes, it all boils down to the left and right given long enough), rather than a political forum with the intention of serving the people.

The hustle and bustle of Huanmao was quickly dulled by the walls and thick glass separating the restaurant from the streets. Two men in long coats and hats quickly moved inside, out of the rain and noise, swiftly shutting the door behind them. They hung their outer garments on the provided hooks, nodded to the maître d', and gave their names. The woman seemed surprised to see them here, but smiled—albeit nervously—and nodded. She was gone in a flash, off to get them a table.
+++An Zhihan (安貭瀚) and Gan Fengjin (旰豊金), Director of the National Intelligence Agency and Director of the Office of Intelligence (Ministry of Federal Administration), respectively, were not long standing. A small waitress led them to a quiet corner, away from the rest of the patrons, made sure the seating was acceptable, and hurried away to get their rice and tea. A platter of oysters would certainly be accompanying them, as well—it was tradition.
+++"I suppose you have heard of the development in Faxanavia," started An gruffly, folding his hands under his chin.
+++"Quite," replied Gan, sighing. "It seems that every time we glance over our shoulder to look at one situation, another develops in front of us."
+++An nodded. "It is that way, unfortunately."
+++"Do you think we need to take action?" Gan asked, but put up a finger to stay An's response. The waitress was returning.
+++After everything from the tray was transferred to the low table, An looked at the girl as she was straightening herself. "We will need a few minutes."
+++The girl seemed a little unnerved, both by An's carriage of himself and the flat tone of his voice, but nodded and retreated without further ado.
+++"No, not at this stage," An picked up without breaking stride. "It worries me, but I think the Imperator will continue to stay firmly within our power bloc." An shook his head. "Certainly he has not shown a preference for moving out of it."
+++"Do you have people there, just in case?" Gan asked, inspecting an oyster.
+++"Not unless my managers are doing things they shouldn't,"—a distinct possibility in the Jeunese intelligence community—An replied. "I am comfortable at this point with our local intelligence sources without placing operatives within the country. If things become more restricted, however, I may have to resort to that."
