Hmm. As your message didn't say 'We'll have vodka', I suppose we'll bring some. Oh, and I suppose we should bring a gift...
We're on the way. Please have someone meet us at the airport with a car. We haven't had to drive in twenty years due to our huge investment in public transportation.

Antonia Faldini was Princess Yvette's childhood friend and personal assistant. She stood with her guards at the airport's landing strip and was dressed in a secretary's outfit with a medium length skirt and a white blouse. If one looked, they could see her famous long legs, they helped give Antonia the image of a beautiful young woman and many liked her but she was still a single young woman who had no plans to change her status. While she waited for the first guest, she looked at the picture of her family in the locket she wore around her neck and smiled. "They would be proud of me."
She placed the locket under her clothing and continued to look at the landing strip, expecting to hear the sounds of a plane landing and the occupants coming out. Antonia pictured everything in her mind and knew what to do. She would be polite and respectful, nothing more. If there were problems, she had a handgun and pepper spray to use, she learned how to use weapons from her father but never a tomboy.
Antonia knew that the Royal Palace was ready for the guests and that they were now beginning the coronation with a small party. All that was needed now were the foreign guests.
(You may send your guests now. There will be a small party before the coronation)

The modified Viper II VTOL swept in towards the airport, its engines shifting to point downwards as it approached the helipad. It was the non military version, painted in the Emperors colors, white and black, though the flight had left it smudged. It lifted slightly in the air over the pad, then slowly dropped down.
The side ramp dropped down, and almost before it touched the ground, 4 Nistolonians, dressed in Army Dress uniforms and carrying rifles, marched out. They stopped at the end of the ramp, two on each side, and dropped to one knee.
The Emperor of Nistolonia looked like he had dropped in from a fantasy novel. He wore a fine tunic, with the black cobra of Nistolonia on its breast, leather boots, and a cape that appeared to be made out of some sort of large reptile. His black hair was shoulder length (ala LOTR Aragron, if you need a reference), and he wore a sword at his belt. His two bodyguards, standing behind him, wore black tunics, with no markings. As he stepped off the ramp, several orderlies rushed luggage of the plane.
Flanked by his bodyguards, Emperor Lyros strode to where Antonia Faldini stood. He bowed, and smiled.
"Greetings, milady. I hope we've not come too early"

The "Sun" K-23 transport chopper, specially modified to carry diplomats, was going through it's usual touch down routines. It had radioed in to the airport, saying that it was intending on landing, and that a car should be ready.
Within ten minutes, the Premier of International Relations stepped out of his helicopter and surveyed the attendant. One of his aides suggested, "Comrade, look at her! We could sure use a woman Czar like her.."
The Premier cut him off with a flick of his hand. "Quiet! Speak no words until we get to their headquarters.."
He walked towards the attendant, and then did a courteous bow. "Bonjour, mademoiselle. I am Jonathan Jashenov."
The J-28 transport chopper began its decent onto the runway. Once it touched down, the side door slid open revealing Vaurion's diplomat, Prince Azron. He was dressed in red robes and his black hair was pulled back into an elegant top-knot. He stepped off the chopper and walked over to Antonia. Once he arrived at her location he bowed and introduced himself. "Greetings. I am Prince Azron of Vaurion. It is an honor to be here."

Antonia smiled as the Emperor of Nistolonia walked out of the plane. She knew he was the first guest and that she had to greet him and escort him to the Palace. Since she could not clone herself, she had asked for several limosuines to take other guests to the Palace if she could not do so herself.
Silently walking towards the Emperor, Antonia smiled at him and gave him a curtsey. "Welcome to the nation of Lussa. I am Antonia Faldini, the personal assistant of Princess Yvette. As soon as the Skgorrian helicopter settled down on the airport's tarmac, one of the doors swung open and a large figure dressed in an ornate uniform stepped out, his hand pressed to his head to stop his cap flying off. He walked until he away from the rotors, then drew himself up and tidied himself up, flicking dust off his black tunic. Two similarly-dressed men followed behind him, watching for potential threats.
"Well gentlemen, here we are," announced Beckenbauer. "Another mission to another small nation, quite why I keep on having to go to these things I'll never work out."
"The Emperor has great respect for you," ventured one of Beckenbauer's companions. "You are his most trusted advisor."
"Yes yes yes," spat the Storm-General, "but then why the frak do we bother with a diplomatic corps? Pah, it's not even like I'm any good at this talking business."
" 'Have faith in the Wolf, for His keen senses will lead us to the best trail," quoted the bodyguard who had not spoken yet. At this Beckenbauer fell silent and waited for a diplomatic representative.

Antonia was glad to know that more guests were arriving and tried her best to handle them all. Before she walked to the Skgorrian helicopter, she asked the drivers of the limosuines to be ready to take the guests that had arrived earlier to the Royal Palace. There were several limosuines, Antonia had made sure that the guests would be able to arrive at the Palace without having to wait for a limosuine to make more than one trip.
She saw Beckenbauer and smiled at him. "Welcome to the nation of Lussa. I am Antonia Faldini, Princess Yvette's personal assistant. It is a pleasure to have you here. Antonia's pleasant demeanour enhanced Beckenbauer's mood, who sketched a casual salute to greet her.
"Storm-General Beckenbauer of the Imperial Guard of the Emperor of the Wolf, servant and proud citizen of the Empire of the Wolf," he introduced himself using his full title. "Quite a mouthful eh?" He grinned, raising his hand and beckoning his two bodyguard to follow him.
"These two come with me, they're armed with pistols and will check their weapons if needed. Shall we go?" Beckenbauer liked to cut to the point, especially when the day was bound to be full of what he viewed as slightly less than necessary diplomatic poncing.

"Thank you, ma'am." He turned towards the nearest limousine, calling out something in Nistolonian to his guards. He waited for them to step inside and close the limo door before he slumped down in his seat.
"I tell you" he whispered, his eye on the black wall that separated them from the driver's compartment "this is not going to be a fun week."
The first guard looked up, for the first time not an impassive figure. "They seem friendly enough, Lyros. I doubt this is going to be a kidnapping attempt."
Lyros rolled his eyes "They're not that stupid, Felrin. We've got a new SOG Submarine off shore waiting to do something." He smiled through pointed canines (OOC: Not dogs...teeth) "Hell, that would be fun. Like the Slovakastanian War, eh? Thats what it is to be alive. This" he waved his hand around "is nothing but lies. Lies and fancy food."
The second guard grunted in acknowledgment. "True, Lyros. I'm half hoping for something to happen. Like your crowning. There was a fistfight we'll all remember."
Lyros laughed, glancing down at his hand, where a scar ran from his knuckles up to his elbow. "Just don't start anything, Relyn. Thats just what we'd need: Savage Nistolonian Injures Guests at Foreign Reception.
'Thats what we are here, you know. Savages." He pulled out his dagger and toyed with the point. "Savages in the middle of Civilization"

The limosuine driver continued driving through the city which was active during the day despite the fact that there was a national holiday that absolved people of their responsibilities. People of all ages could be seen on the streets of Monteriano and some of them stared at the limosuine, thinking it must be the limosuine of a government official or someone similar.
After ten to fifteen minutes, the limosuine was at the Royal Palace. An escort brought Lyros and his guards inside the Palace where they were led to a decorated room that was made in the typical style of royal celebrations. Tables were laid out and adorned with wine glasses and expensive table clothes while workers were bringing out the food and beverages. A sign could be seen: "Pre-Coronation Party will begin once all guests have arrived."

Adam Wincenty, crippled as he was, and with the wrecks from the Battle Over the Ports still smoking, still found some time to attend to matters of state. One message in particular caught his eye; a neat, floral, lightly scented invitation to some third-world nation he had never heard of, not even the size of the slums of Ville des Lumières, with a GDP lower than the Navy’s annual procurement budget. It was a nation where a few corrupt colonels could probably topple the legitimate government with only a small amount of cash. In a word: perfect; too small to be aligned with any major blocs. Indeed, the branch of the SSA charged with monitoring these young nations said that there was a chance it was allied with the Scandinavians, but they were no enemy. Indeed, it was likely that Lussa was probably safer than behind the walls and trenches of Mer de Noms.
Adam paged the Director of International Relations, and informed of him his intentions: a nice party would do the General good. With some coordination with the military, a letter was drafted and sent out.

Re: Coronation
Greetings to the infant nation of Lussa,
Arch Arsonist Adam Wincenty has expressed an interest in visiting your nation and witnessing the coronation. Unfortunatly, the Armed Republic of Mer des Ennuis is currently in an all out war with the unholy alliance known as “UFAN.” In accordance with this, Adam will require a unit of guards from the 88th Ranger division. Fourty such guards will be in attendance, though all need not be present during the actual coronation or during diplomatic negotiations. A small staff of 15 personnel will be present as well.
Security regulations require that, at this time, that transportation for Arch Arsonist Wincenty be provided at our expense. As such, we would would like to fly two HV-4 Goshawk assault and transport helicopters and an emergency MMPWV LV-08 light vehicle. Additional transportation will be required. We hope that these terms will be accecptable, and we wish your new queen a long and prosperous reign.

Greetings to Mer Des Ennuis,
We are glad to know that the Arch Arsonist is interested in attending the coronation of Princess Yvette. He should know that the security and transportation that you desire for him to have will be given to him by Lussan authorities, the terms are acceptable and we hope that we will see him arrive in our nation when he is ready. We also thank you for the best wishes for Princess Yvette.

Re: Coronation
I, Craig Schotter, King of the Harvest Lands, hear by accept your invitation to the coronation, and will be sending a delegate for now, and assuming everything goes well with tomorrows negotiations, will be attending the next day.
I will also be bringing along with myself, an armed unit of 20 guards from my personal Homeguard. If this is not ok, then I shall hope we can arrange security for my arrival, as I have many enemies.
We will also be sending a cart of fine silks and exotic spices, as well as 50 bags of precious metals and jewels as a gift.
Until then,
King Schotter

OOC: Your allowing armed guards to come? Damn, I coulda brought fifty guards and captured your Princess....oh well =(. Bye bye, ransom money.
With all the foreign guests at the pre-coronation party room, Antonia Faldini smiled as she sat alone at one of the tables. It would be a couple of minutes before Yvette arrived so she decided to have the guests talk to each other and get to know each other better. Taking a spoon, she tapped her glass and smiled before speaking.
"On behalf of the Queendom of Lussa, I welcome you all to the Pre-Coronation Party. Princess Yvette is expected to arrive in a couple of minutes so please enjoy yourselves and talk to each other until she arrives."
(Kanami, Harvest Lands: Assume your guests are at the party with the other guests)

OOC: I'd imagine that capturing the princess in a hall filled with important people would result in unhappy leaders, which tends to result in an outbreak of battle tanks and strike planes.
IC: Lyros turned to the man sitting next to him, who looked like Storm General Beckenbauerm, if the intelligence report was correct.
"You look like a military man, Storm-General. Surely this business of politics is dull compared to the business of war?"
OOC2: I hope you don't mind that slight seating assumption. Lyros and Beckenbauer seem to have the most in common, anyway.

Wagdian Embassy; New Theeb, Vetaka
Deep within the secured confines of the embassy, having returned from the diplomatic meeting in Strator not long ago, the elven ambassador Lady Uthiria Tóriel Lathíriel nós Farlond again spoke to the vampiress agent from State Security standing before her; spoke in all reasonable confidence that what was said here would not be betrayed to the outside world unless it was by her will. This coronation provided a truly unique chance here, if played correctly. Naturally, the diplomatic presence of Scandinvan interests was a complication; Wagdog's only contact with them had been years ago when evacuating those communists they'd allowed to live during a civil war at the time. But now... well, considering the alternatives, the chance to finish what Vetakan Security and Intelligence Service had started and at last avenge the Ennuisian assassination attempt on former President Scarlet Rogers and her then-unborn child simply couldn't be passed up.
"You understand what the risks of this mission are Agent Ariona?" Her Eldarin voice seemingly lofted above the hush of its' whisper, but then again her tall and ageless frame swept over with long platinum-blonde hair could have as majestic an effect even aside from matters of accent. "Wincenty will not be there unguarded; in fact, we have placed his converted dreadnought as his means of transport already via satellite reconnaissance. And given the Lussan protectorate relationship to the Empire of the Scandinvans, discretion is of the utmost importance." She was confident the young vampiress would understand, but certain things bore saying in any case.
"Understood, Ambassador." Agent Ariona's lush and perky voice echoed across the office. "I trust I shall be serving as an envoy of sorts? The matter of insertion would be vital. She stood with her arms crossed, tapping her finger on one end of a workmanlike and yet ravishing black blouse; she'd been at Smithy's Wine Bar down in the harbor district again, and from the looks of it perhaps had more fruitful exploits than her last visit.
"Yes. You will take ten other agents as guards, and make what arrangements you can to get in contact with Wincenty. After that, matters are left to your discretion." She began to gather some papers and soon presented Ariona with the dossier. "Choose from among these, and they shall not fail you."
"Then it shall be done." Ariona curtsied demurrely and began to sift through her potential coterie. Meanwhile, Lady Tóriel began to compose her response to the invitation, careful to put up what appearances were needed and would suffice to see the safe commencement of the operation...

“Well then Sir, the Luss… Lussans have accepted our stipulations, though I’m sure a gift is in order.” Tomas Swietoslaw, for all his coldness, seemed… nervous. The chief spook of the SSA wasn’t rattled often, though the Republic barely weathered the last war; they were now against a ruthless alliance , not a mere Orwellian-inspired empire.
“At the very least, might I suggest taking some Death’s Head with you? The Rangers are good,” he stammered at the old Ranger’s glare, “but the Death’s Head have more experience with guarding dignitaries, and their kill-to-casualty ratio is simply incredible.”
“Very well, Director,” muttered Adam, “I’ll take Team 4, I need to speak with Major Mikhalio anyway.”
“Here is your complement then, Sir.” Tomas handed Adam a small manila folder. “We’ve compiled quick biographies on the platoon selected and their load-outs. We aren’t attaching any HWTs; the Goshawks and domestic security forces can probably take care of that. I’ve also attached five of my best operators in covert roles, we can’t pass up a chance to snoop around with a new government, and another set of guns will be desirable. Due to your condition, the Disease Control Administration has requested we send a staff of three doctors, which I’ve accepted. Counting the five Death Watch, that leaves two of your choosing.”
“Good” smiled Adam, clutching his cane, “Bring (Chief Economic) Advisor Ioan, tell him he can bring an assistant. I’m sure with his contacts he can advise this new nation on Ennuisian Economics.”
“Will do Sir. The jet leaves in an hour, and the Goshawks have been loaded into a C-130.”
“That will be all.”

The flight, the only non-combat flight cleared to be in the air over the Republic, was pleasant. As usual, Major Dragos Mikhailo’s outfit, the feared Death Watch, kept to themselves. Some nations had secret police. Others had secret forces. The Death’s Head units transcended that, and now they were called for the pedestrian task of Guard Duty. The trip itself was a scant 9 hours before they were over the Pacific nation, a blip on the map compared to any of the cities of Ennuisia.
Both the Jet and the Turboprop touched down, and the helicopters were quickly unloaded and deployed. Another 10 minutes and the first gunship landed. Adam stepped out of the chopper, flanked by the five Death Watch in their Mess-Dress, platinum-plated L-26’s and all, and four civilians; one Special Agent White of the SSA, a Captain of the SSA who went by James Spring, Advisor Ioan, and his assistant, a woman who looked seven years his junior, Lisa Pendick. Adam took a deep breath as the gunship took off and circled, while the other departed for his hotel.
“Sir, Unit 2 has arrived via ground transport, and is securing the floor” said Captain James Xu, pressing his ear piece. Adam imagined the rangers in their battle armor stomping past the assuredly irate clerk at the hotel, and surprising the hell out of anyone who walked out of their room to see five burly men with assault rifles.
Clutching his cane, he hobbled quickly yet unsteadily away from the helipad, where a pair of combat-ready rangers stood at attention… he hadn’t seen them come off, and he was sure they weren’t alone. Adam wore a more comfortable gray suit; he had not yet had a class-A re-made to fit his new physique, gaunter on the bottom, bigger at the top. So was the cost of a .50 cal to the hip.
“Advisor, Agent White, might I ask that you come with me? I’ll send word for you, Major Dragos, if I need you services. Agent Spring, can you have a sample of our gift on ice? I would like to give it to the queen cold.”
“Indeed sir,” said the captain, before walking briskly to the car port. L'épice des Mers Dorées was the most valuable whiskey in Ennuisia, worth more than gold and retailing for $45,000 a bottle on the cheap end, Adam had brought a case with him, and he wanted to share it with the new queen the one way it was meant to: ice cold and on fire.
The small entourage made their way behind the General of the Home Guard and Arch Arsonist up to the main door.
“Adam Wincenty, I’m here for the coronation” he said to the doorman.

Emperor Sinakus strolled about calmly through the crowd of dignitaries heads of state and other officials...unlike previous diplomatic meetings the emperor was keeping a low profile, apart from the noticeable presence of his personal guard which was rather large compared to the security forces for many of the other officials.
Apart from official greetings Sinakus wasted no time mingling as he would at other conferences, instead he had decided to take the time to relax a bit and enjoy the change of scenery...after all they're weren't any major players here that would require any urgent attention from him...instead the emperor was using the coronation and diplomatic conference as an official vacation of sorts
Making his way to a window shrouded behind the wall of body guards the emperor paused admiring the view, flask in hand thinking of times gone by when life had been simple.

The doorman nodded his head and was silent as he opened the door for Wincenty and his group to walk through. They were taken to the room where the other guests were located and given their own table. Antonia, seeing Adam walking into the room, decided she would greet him (she would have at the airport but she had been at the Palace). She fixed her blouse and got up from her seat, looking at Adam. It made her happy to know that there would be several guests attending this coronation and the diplomatic conference and she wanted to make sure the guests were at ease.
Walking calmly and casually towards Adam, she looked at him with the same smile she had given all the other guests. "Welcome to the nation of Lussa. I am Antonia Faldini, the personal assistant of Princess Yvette and it is a pleasure to have you here in our beloved nation. You must be....?"
Antonia studied Adam and his group for a moment as she waited for a response. It was natural for her to ask who they were so she could have complete knowledge of all the guests that would be attending the coronation and diplomatic conference. While she waited for Adam to respond to her, she looked at all the other guests and pictured more arriving in her mind.

The Queens private chambers at the Otrera palace, The Amazonian Empire,
As lady Sharra entered the queens’ private chambers the queen was enjoying her breakfast in bed.
Your majesty, a letter has arrived from the nataion of Lussa.
The queen turned as her aide and lover addressed her and with a playful scowl,
Sharra my love we are in private, do I have to remind you to call me Cynthia when we are in private again.
Sharra blushed as she handed the letter to the queen.
I’m sorry Cynthia, that won’t be necessary.
As the queen took the letter she gently kissed Sharra’s hand, then opening the letter she read,
Sharra, please send a reply to Jonas Miette that we would be honored to attend and have the royal jet readied, then pack your bags as you’ll be coming with me. Oh I shall only require 2 members of the royal guard to attend me; Kahtia and Evelyn will do nicely.

"All right gentlemen," Agent Ariona surveyed the plainclothes State Security agents sitting in the cabin, the huge aircraft only being used due to the travel range involved. "Our orders are to act according to the situation, improving relations with the Lussans as much as possible while simultaneously executing the official sanction put out on Arch Arsonist Adam Wincenty by our Deputy General Secretary Christine Friedrich just this morning; the word came from her command aircraft by coded burst just after takeoff and it's entirely official now. Each of you will likely be searched, so you're only to pack your weapons with one reload each and stick by me until we figure out how we can most unobtrusively neutralize Wincenty." A fine word that, neutralize, she thought with the cool disdain that came so easily to an ageless and arguably-parasitic being. Not that she minded the pleasures of the human world, far from it, and hence she had no desire to destroy it at all; rather simply to enjoy and master it as best she could.
"Any questions?" Ariona's voice lilted up into what many a human starlet sounded like, her moon-pale skin and raven ponytailed hair emphasizing a face that belonged on magazines more than it did skulking about alleys for prey in the dead of night. When the agents nodded that they understood the simple brief and had none, Agent Ariona smiled seductively at them and returned to her seat to recline for the landing in Lussa; she knew she'd have no trouble enticing those assigned to her into obedience without need for fear. It was one of her specialites, and a very fun one at that as far as she was concerned; she drifting off while the agents readied their E-21CS silenced compact handguns and S-25 silenced PDWs into the detective-style holsters for both provided them as part of the armament for this mission...

On arrival in Lussa, the eleven-person team entrusted themselves to the local security and transportation to best handle their arrival at the festivities. Showing such trust was obviously the only way to go, strength in numbers being key against the anticipated heavy presence that the Ennuisians would bring to secure Wincenty and possibly press home what psychological advantages they could on neutral ground. Agent Ariona found the environment quite pleasing, and had scarce doubt that by the time they were seated and in place some helpful friends among the staff attending them could be made.
Yes, helpful indeed; but with discretion of course. Overplaying one's hand never worked, and least of all in sensitive places and at sensitive times like this. Whatever would be done to achieve the mission, the coronation itself would not be disturbed. After? Well, that would be played by ear, to the tune Ariona composed ideally. Hence the relaxed aspect she assumed, and actually felt; all was as under control as could be for now.
Congratulations your Highness! On behalf of the U.I.S. of AHSCA we would all offer our congratulations to you on this occasion. Regretfully as it is the start of the monsoon season, it is not feesable for any of us to travel. We are in for a rough season and we are all going to be needed to help weather this storm.

A limosuine driver, one of the last ones at the airport, had been waiting for new guests to arrive. When he saw Ariona, he knew she looked beautiful but for the sake of Lussa did not say anything that could get him slapped, he actually was not that kind of man. He helped Ariona into the limosuine and began driving through the city of Monteriano. Once again, citizens looked at the limosuine and thought about who was in it. It took a couple of minutes to get to the Royal Palace where other limosuines were already parked.
The driver smiled at Ariona as he helped her out of the car and pointed to the doorman. "Tell him you are a guest and he will let you in." The driver walked away and the doorman, looking at Ariona, prepared to listen to her say who she was. He was often silent when he was doing his job.
Antonia Faldini looked to see more people walking into the room and smiled as she got up from her seat and walked towards Ariona calmly with a smile on her face.
"Welcome to the nation of Lussa. I am Antonia Faldini, the Princess' personal assistant. You are?...." Antonia pulled out her guest list and a pen and looked at Ariona, ready to check off her name from the list. "You may talk to the other guests until Princess Yvette arrives. After a quick look around she turns to someone inside the jet and continues down the stairs and takes position at the base of the stairs.
The next down the stairs a slender and strikingly attractive brunette woman in mid forties dressed in an elegant if some what form fitting gown of royal blue, around her waist a slender belt with the coat of arms of the Amazonian Empire on its buckle.
Following close behind the queen a younger blonde haired woman in her early thirties dressed in a tailored business suite.
Finally a raven haired woman dressed much like the first exits the jet and remains at the top of the steps.
When a representative from Lussa approaches, the blonde steps forward smiles and introduces herself and the party.
"Good day I am Lady Sharra and this" indicating towards the older woman "Her Most Royal Majesty Queen Cynthia"

A limousine driver smiled and greeted the Queen and Lady Sharra respectfully. He had been waiting for the guest(s) he was to take to the Royal Palace and now he had found them and one of them was an attractive woman.
"Good day. You look beautiful today, Your Majesty." The driver escorted them to the limousine and helped them inside before he began driving into the city where they could see some citizens staring at the limousine, reading magazines or selling candy to schoolchildren.
After a couple of minutes, the limousine stopped at the Royal Palace and the driver looked at the two women. “If you walk to the front door, tell the doorman your names and say you are guests. He will let you in.”
Mer des Ennuis

Adam smiled as the assistant approached.
“I am Adam Wincenty, General of the Home Guard and Arch Arsonist of Mer des Ennuis” he said with a strong, yet somewhat quiet voice. “I am joined by our nation’s chief economist Alexander Ioan, and his assistant,” he paused, trying to remember her name “…Lisa Pendick. While gifts and other frivolities are a necessity, Alexander will be investigating future economic opportunities for our nations, a gift that will outlive us all. I am also joined by one of my aides, Stanley Butler.”
“Stanley,” looking dignified in dark grey tuxedo, addressed her next.
“Miss Faldini, I have some information on the security detail. As I’m sure you or your employers are well aware, we have brought a Ranger Platoon with us. At the present, fifteen have taken visible positions around the palace in view of your guards. I understand that they are coordinating a joint command of some kind”
“Joint Operations Command” interrupted Adam with a smirk.
“Right. Basically, they will be considered part of the palace’s guard unit for the time being, along with the five honor guardsmen that are waiting in the lobby. We have also taken the liberty of contacting local law enforcement as to the presence of the remaining twenty-five at the hotel where General Wincenty will be staying. That is all we have in your country,” he said, lying through his teeth about the other SSA operators, “concerning security, and we want to extend our full gratitude for accommodating these measures.”
“Indeed, I hope that this has not caused too much trouble” Adam said. Over the near invisible ear-piece that all the officials present wore, he heard the dreaded phrase, “This is Delta 3, Xenoform spotted.” . Agent White nodded slightly as the Wagdoggian revenant and her entourage glided in.
“I suppose you have other guests to greet” smiled Adam, “so this is adieu for now.” As soon as she was out of earshot, Adam leaned forward on his cane. “Agent White, I want them shadowed until we leave this rock. Constant surveillance, understood?”
The agent only nodded as Adam sat at the nearest table with the economist and, as Adam incorrectly presumed, his squeeze.

"The King and the Prince will be landing at the Lussian Airport soon." Interjected Sir Burke, The Harvest Lands foeign diplomat.
"I will be arranging a motorcade. If you'll excuse me."
Sir Burke headed for the door with his 2 Bodyguards.

"I'm sorry I couldn't have been here sooner, but we had negotiations with several warring nations in The Badlands."
"They're all in position Father." The Prince reported.
"Excellent. Have 2 squads by the main gates." The King ordered.
"Yes Sir." The Prince responded, as he left to execute the orders.
"If you'll excuse me." King Schotter said as he headed over to the buffet.

OOC: Not at all, I assume we're in a limo going to the event?
IC:
Beckenbauer looked approvingly at the Nistolonian.
"Yes," he confirmed, "I am a military man. Used to run Special Action Division, now I'm Head of the Guard. Been wearing a uniform most of my life and proud of it." He leaned back and tried to get comfortable in the limo's plush seat, "I must say I agree with you. Whilst war is a horrendously bloody thing, at least one can appreciate the straightforwardness of war. Here we wage another kind of battle, where metaphors are our artillery and promises our reinforcements. Personally, I prefer the real thing," he chuckled, removing his field cap. "I must confess I know precious little about yourself or your nation. Care to explain to a fellow old soldier?"

OOC: Actually, I'm pretty sure we're in the Royal Palace, but it really doesn't make a difference, eh?
IC:
Lyros smiled "I'm not surprised. We like to keep to ourselves, outside of trade agreements and international disputes. But I suppose you could say I'm just a warrior from nation of warriors. Just one that happens to be in charge." He laughed "Its like walking an angry dog, I suppose--They're always trying to get off the leash. And sometimes you just want to follow them. It's the perils of having warriors for leaders. "
He paused to sip at his wine.
"Nistolonia herself though--she is beautiful, Jungle preserve me. We try to work our cities into the rainforest as much as we can, to keep nature unspoiled. I wouldn't recommend walking far in them, though. There are things in there that would rip one of those flimsy" (he waved out the window) "cars apart in a second." He sighed "Give me a Rieak (Riding lizard) and a battle any day over a limousine and a dinner."
He looked around at the other guests
"I must say, Storm General Beckenbauer, some of these heads of state have exorbitantly large security staffs. Makes you wonder what their worried about, eh? A nation like this isn't possibly going to start something"

OOC: Fair enough :P
IC:
"Can't say I've had much experience of jungles myself, Skgorria...I mean the Empire of the Wolf," he corrected himself, "is mostly open steppe with a few forests. Large, rolling plains for the most part, though we do have a couple of jungles lurking in the south. We even have a couple of dinosaur species there, sometimes we trot them out on ceremonial occasions. Used to use them as cavalry mounts long ago, gave those Muslims rather a large shock!" He chuckled at the memory of the propaganda film he'd seen in school, all done with appalling acting and worse dialogue.
At the Nistolonian's mention of large security details, he looked around.
"You're quite right," he said lowering his voice, "we had best keep an eye out. There are probably a few rampant imperialists here looking for the flimsiest excuse to start a war. One of these leaders will start an argument that will lead to someone getting hurt, and voila! Your causus belli is right there. I should know, I've done it enough times in the past." He waved his security men forward.
"Gorobets, Servchenko, keep an eye out. I don't like this." Beckenbauer then turned to Lyros.
"Are your armed?" He asked frankly.

"Yes. My bodyguards and I have knives and .40 semi automatics, in addition to my sword of office. Not that a swords going to do much good here. More importantly" Lyros lowered his voice even more "There are 12 special forces operators--Black Dragons--at my plane, and an extraction team waiting in one of our new Special Operations Support submarines."
He shrugged
"If someone is going to start something, though, neither will get here in time to really be useful. One's 15 minutes away, and one is 45 minutes away. What about your detail?"

"I'm carrying a pistol, as are my two guards. I've got a small Imperial Navy taskforce lurking in international waters, and a couple of Wulfen in my helicopter but like your backup they're too far away to do any good if anything kicks off. I guess we'll have to pin our hopes on this nation's security forces," he spoke glumly. Raising his glass, he proposed a toast.
"To surviving horrendous screwups made by bureaucrats who've never even heard of a rifle, let alone held one."

"That's what I hear," agreed Beckenbauer, "I suppose that we'll get to sit through some ceremony and then get one with the social hobknobbing." At this he rolled his eyes, making it clear what he though of this. "Luckily I was able skip the coronation of our Emperor, have you ever done one of these before?" Beckenbauer asked Lyros.
Nistolonia
19-12-2007, 22:23
"Well, I suppose technically I am one. But I'm afraid it's not much like a normal ceremony." Lyros said "Traditionally, it occurs after the new Emperor has slain a Dragon-Snake (OOC: A big cobra, really) as part of his rite of coronation. There's feasting and dancing, a prayer to the Gods, and the High Council gives the Emperor a cloak made from the snakes skin, and his sword of office." He grinned
"But something interesting always happens. During mine, for example, one of the High Council made a comment about the woman of one of my Ryeik (OOC: Council of Nobles, aka the Emperors friends who were given noble titles), and she punched him across the face. The entire room erupted into fighting, as supporters of both sides lept out of their seats to do something...and that lasted until me and my Ryeik took the upper hand in the fighting. Thats also when the food came out." Lyros chuckled. "So I suppose mine was rather...unorthodox compared to what you've had to sit through."
Sinakus looked down at his watch still standing by the window behind the wall of his imperial escorts
"Typical of a second rate kingdom, no organization or punctuality, perhaps visiting this upstart was a mistake.."
he thought to himself before shrugging and taking another swig from his flask.
Slowly Sinakus began to walk through the crowd, staying in the middle of the roving block of escorts which surrounded him, he had learned from previous meetings to never take any chances with security especially not in less notable lands.
Occasionally the young emperor would glance out from his shroud and look to see who was in attendance still no one worth his time, some more notable dignitaries and leaders had arrived from more established nations but none of which had any relations with the Imperial Kingdom and Sinakus saw no need to establish them now.
Making his way to a refreshment area he was quick to help himself to some exotic drinks and snack foods not saying a word to the other guests he was anonymous and wanted to keep things that way

Beckenbauer's eyes widened, "dammit man, that sounds like good fun. I haven't been in a good fist-fight since some prisoners tried to break out of a holding facility I was visiting. " He raised his glass in salute and drained the remainder of the liquid. "Our Emperor isn't so directly martial, he was head of the intelligence services under the old regime. Cunning bastard though, managed to pull our country together when it was all going down the pan..." Beckenbauer trailed off as he briefly remembered the July days, before shaking his head and returning to the present.
"I'd rather be with my family, I'm missing my daughter's latest film screening. You got a family, Lyros?"

"Just a wife. She's helping run the country while I'm gone" He winced "Gods know what a mess it'll be in when i get home. She's probably declared war on some poor country by now, or insulted a foreign diplomat. There's a reason she's not here now, you know" He winked "A bit too spirited"
He waved over a servant for more wine
"But your daughter, with a film screening? An actress, I suppose? You must be proud of her"

"Director actually," Beckenbauer grinned, "this is her third film now. Svetlanka was in the SS with me for a while, but a Hatarian landmine took the lower part of her left leg off when the Hatarian homeland was invaded for the final time. She was in a few propaganda films like her father, and she decided she wanted to get on the other side of the camera. My little girl's work hasn't achieved a great deal of recognition on the international stage, though she remains very popular in the Empire and the Occupied Territories. I believe her most recent work is something to do with medieval Skgorria, I was supposed to be going to see it tonight but then this came up. And of course this," he waved his dismissivley, "is most certainly worth my time," he finished with dripping sarcasm. "Still," Beckenbauer brightened up, "it hasn't been a total waste of time. When this is over, you must come to the Empire at some point. I'd love to show you MegaCity one, for a jungle lover as yourself it will come as quite a surprise." Beckenbauer then turned to the nearest waiter and signalled for something to eat. "By the Wolf, I'm famished."
