Description:
-Intro-
Any good airforce needs bombers. And, they especially need a bomber capable of high speed, large ordinance bombing. This is where the P25 B-9 Patriot comes in. The Patriot is just that- a high speed, large ordinance bomber, designed with superiority in mind.
-Propulsion-
For propulsion, the Patriot uses top of the line engines- specifically, the General Electric F404, famed for its use on the F/A-18 Hornet. It utulizes two of these fine engines, and together they can produce up to 34,500 pounds combined thrust. The F404's are outfitted with thrust vectoring and afterburner for maximal speeds.
-Airframe-
The airframe of the B-9 is assembled of Aluminum-Titanium composite for maximal durability in flight. The airframe itself is also kept as aerodynamic as possible.
-Electronics/Avionics-
The B-9 uses a fly-by-wire guidance interface for movement, and an integrated avionics system in the cockpit which compiles information from its many systems and presents feedback on the battlefield, weapons load, GPS image, and engine status. The Patriot also uses aft mounted chaff and flare systems to help protect against enemy assault
-Armorment-
The B-9 is a bomber, and so is armed like one. Its main source of bombing is its internal bay, which can house up to 6,000 pounds of ordinance. This can include multiple weapons, such as dumb weapons, smart bombs, guided missiles, or even a nuclear missile. The B-9 also has 10 external hardpoints- 4 under the wings, 2 on the wingtips- which can have other weapons mounted on them (GBU-24 Paveway III shown.)
