The small nation of The Free Land of The Chroniclers is now ground zero for an addictive hallucinogen. This might not normally be noteworthy, as many governments have addictive drugs legalized, but this particular drug seems to be a hellish mix that could cripple national economies and trade relationships.

The hallucinogen, which is called Strxa, is being produced by three factories in the island nation, including one in the capital city of Arianas. It is in pill form and avalable in large boxes in several countries. The corporation producing this has hired several chemists to get the right mix. Unfortunately, the drug seems to have an 96% addiction rate per use and has the ability with only minimal use to break down the psyche of a user. "I don't think we are doing anything wrong, people do choose to do this." CEO of Crystal Card Inc. stated today. What has been seen happening is a loss of impulse control in users.

Senator John Gricks commented on Strxa, "We should outlaw this abmonation of a recreational drug. The Chroniclers has purity in what it exports, including recreational drugs that are safe enough to use without running the risk of random deaths, pshycosis, or addiction." Crystal Card has hired many lobbyists to keep the drug legal, and are said to have more than half the senators on their payroll. As such, making Strxa illegal is an uphill battle, unlike other drugs produced with no controversy because of the relative safety of the drug and strictly enforced trade laws in place. The effect isn't only in The Chroniclers.

The real danger is that the drug is being exported, legally and otherwise. The highly addictive nature of the drugs is already seen having a profound effect on the economy of the nation, and could afflict other nations too. Another Senator, who wishes to remain anonymous, stated this, "Strxa is a great plauge that will spread over this earth until it destroys every economy. It needs to become illegal." No progress is being seen however, and with half the nation being users, none is likely to come. Other nations could now feel the effects of this drug, which the anonymous senator stated "This is much worse then any other drug war the nations have fought in the past. This one only needs a toe in the door, and then it takes the entire nation."

OOC: Other nations are welcome to have traded with The Chroniclers.
