Capitalist Underground (Mafia Semi-open, ATTN all crime syndacates)

Yanitaria
14-12-2007, 06:53
The Capitalist Underground grew out of the government backlash against corporations during the recent coup.

Aided by the Alfegosian Underground Mafia, and fronted by legitimate corporations, the CU is responsible for many good things, and many horrible things.

In order to cover their drug trade, they wanted airships. They reverse engineered Alfegosian designs, and sold them cheaply on the open market. Because they are not an uncommon sight in cities anymore, the syndicate has an easier time getting past security, and making large drops.

Inside Yanitaria they deal primarily in cocaine and "Zen", as well as LSD, Heroin, and many opiates. Outside of Yanitaria, they carry marijuana locally grown, and smuggle Yanitarian assault rifles and combat shotguns abroad.

They use abandoned airfields, bought under false names, as farms and bases. Their fields grow mostly weed, but hidden among the weed are various plants, like poppies and coca, which are refined in underground labs to make the finished product.

Using their funds, they bought out and killed the competition, leading to a period of lower crime, after a month of bloody massacres. The police in Yanitaria largely don't care what they do, so long as their taxes are filled in properly.

Currently, there are two major crime families. The CU is the largest, but because they killed so many other gangsters, there is now a power vacuum... just waiting to be filled...

The CU offers services, including weapons, drugs, human trafficking, and "Human Disposal".

OOC: This is a semi-open crime RP. There is one other major, pre-established family, for whoever wants it. First person to claim it gets it, but it has to be Yanitarian. Any other syndicates will have to set themselves up. Most likely, they will want to ask one of the two families for protection.

By participating in the RP, you allow your nation to also have syndicates operating with in their borders. Please list the things your nation's people will buy, and RP security forces.

OOC: Vetalia is pretty much the world's safe-haven for organized crime. Aside from the fact that most products are mostly or entirely legal, we have enough people skilled in finance and accounting to ensure any money you obtain will be completely hidden. Not to mention plenty of wealthy citizens with money to spare.

However, the anything-goes attitude has its risks. This place is probably one of the world's most lucrative markets for, well, everything, so there's going to be a lot of competition...and the Vetalian government prefers to let crime fight itself out than try to intervene. Unless somebody kills innocents, you're on your own, no matter how horrific a fate awaits you...although there will be plenty of people willing to lend a hand for the right price. To get an idea of the environment in Vetalia, imagine an impossibly rich and developed country with a government straight out of Roaring 20's laissez-faire America combined with the free market free-for-all environment seen in the immediatel post-USSR Russia. Pretty much one big casino, lavish opulence, cash-lubricated decadence and all.

So, if somebody's ready to really get down to business, Vetalia is ready to accommodate.

Secretly, the CU is run by the Yanitarian Government, but don't tell anyone ;).

So yes, yours would work. And don't worry about unfairness among the police. Only the politicians know about the CU's government backing. Although from time to time someone may tell the police to look somewhere else

@Vetalia: Lets get down to some Racketeering, eh? So how would the CU buy a few casinos?

@Vetalia: Lets get down to some Racketeering, eh? So how would the CU buy a few casinos?

Lots and lots of cash backed up by firepower, both literal and legal. Or, on the other hand you could establish and operate your own and take out the competition by brute force; either way, they're not going to be pleased by such a move and will fight back. For gambling, Vetalia City is the biggest market, but there are many smaller cities where the market is either safer, cheaper, or a combination thereof.

If they're really ambitious, there's always the financial markets, the country's true casinos...although unlike gambling and conventional racketeering, there's real law enforcement keeping an eye on things, mainly Securities and Exchange Commission officials and the Ministry of Finance. However, the payoff from a successful move, even a simple pump-and-dump of a penny stock let alone insider trading or cornering an entire market is colossal. One key advantage of these markets is sheer obscurity; you can usually find a financial instrument so abstract and rarely traded that it can be turned in to an almost undetectable goldmine for your organization.

OOC: There is always the "Burgeoise Youth" to engage in the last bastion of Capitalism in the Mutualist/Communist CTSS: Organized Crime. Even though there are totally legal drug business as well and they also try to smuggle drugs in countries where they are illegal, the difference being wage labor isn't accepted in legitimate business, which either must be individual enterprises or cooperatives. Basically the lines between what is criminal and what isn't might be a bit blurred. Also, I'm not trying to make pro-gun ownership propaganda, really.

Throwing a cigarette from the 200th floor window of a tall building and watching the bustling cityscape of Tucker, Pablo Medellin, owner of the largest criminal organization in Third Spanish States pondered on the last happenings of late in his "business", with her wife Maria observing his completely worried stance.

"Another goon was killed by a common civilian with an assault gun! This is the hundredth this month. At this rate, in a few years we'll all be dead! Damn the lack of gun control laws! We are at the wrong country and at the wrong time for our business, I should have listened my friend advice to not do business in a place where 12 year kids brainwashed by communism carry pistols"

"Come on! We are all alive and well, an that is what matters hubby. Also, don't you get more new recruits per month than losses?"

"Yes, but it is... temporary. Many are jealous of the rich cooperative members, but communism is growing strong and will soon demolish that also pathetic mutualist economy. Once "everybody" is equal, much less will want to join us"

"You have survived when they cared about having full-time vigilantes shooting your people on sight, and the losses by then were much higher, remember? Things change, but you know how to adapt, love. That's why we are here"

"Yes, adapt! This is the word. But we need some help or in a few years all will be gone. We are not alone in this "business". If we find someone who will be as much benefited by allying with us as we would be, then we will have a chance of succeeding. We could buy all those so-called "Anarcho-capitalists" as a lobby instead of a few, and even expand our influence on other, more hostile cities."

"But would you look for allies?"

"Well, I will check my contacts in the "Exports/Imports" business to find one which has a pint of honor"

As they talked, a random passerby was surprised as a cigarette burnt his smoker

"Crap! Why should this damn cigarette fall exactly at my suit! Well, damn it! I'll throw it here, and go to the party without it. Well, I think I should go there naked, they will have all type of stuff to smoke anyway, so most will be so crazy they won't care."

He then pulled a pill from his pocket and swallowed, and stripped himself naked

"Woohoo! This party is going to rock really hard!"

Port Rodachenko:

A Yanitarian business man smiled, as he signed the deal on three new casinos. It had cost billions, but the potential was worth it. The expected income was high, and it would serve as a jump off point for the stock market dealings.

The casinos were fancy, and afforded many luxuries, especially in the back rooms where drugs, girls, and even boys could be bought at the right price. Weapons from around the world also lined the back walls of the private rooms.

On the riskier side, the CU started a major magazine, distributing it everywhere. They used a "former" employee, who, while officially had been laid off, was really on their payroll, so that he could run the magazine with out drawing suspicion to the CU.

The Capitalist Underground bought up shares of a defunct search engine, then hired their own programmers to make an illegal version of copyrighted software, which was then "donated" to the company they had invested in. (Donated it, in that they found a particularly greedy programmer who they paid to say he developed it).

The magazine, mostly focusing on Tech and Business news, vastly over hyped the software, calling it groundbreaking, and such, and making a big fuss about it's projected release date.

Meanwhile the CU got ready to dump it's shares on the market.

In Yanitaria, there isn't much to do. The government controls the mafia secretly, so police would only give half hearted attempts to control the underground.

Just choose one, it'll make it easier that way. Oh and airships are going to stick out like sore thumbs in my nation seeing as we dont really have any.

Alright, I'll take the industrial city. Do you have a map of your nation?

Also, it doesn't matter if the airships stick out. CU MO is to drop sand/coffee bags overboard onto the tops of buildings at night, where a CU member slits open the bag, takes the drugs, empties the bag over the side of the building, and burns the bag.

For weapons, the hide them in false gas cells. It'd be pretty hard to find out where the contraband is.

I'm thinking we could make a whole gang war out of this. When your ready, make a new thread since this one is pretty cluttered with OOC posts.

Hampshire Haven International Harbor, 1:30 AM

Pablo stare deeply at the eyes of his informant as he asked

"Yanitaria you said?"

"Yes, and they have some new thingie there, named 'Zen'. Plus business there are going to get hot, while there is a group, the Capitalist Underground, ruling most of it, space for more business still remains unclaimed. Just be careful when dealing them, there are some big 'legitimate' business behind the C.U., from what I managed to assemble about them"

Pablo listened and replied:

"Interesting, you did a great job! Here is your payment.(transfers fifty thousand mutualist credits to his informant's card). I would be interested in getting my hands in this "Zen". If we can have exclusive distribution of it in Third Spanish States we can make some real profits, but I'm having another idea as well: do you know Cocaine-Cola?"

The informant answered almost automatically:

"Of course! Most popular national drink for five consecutive years, marketed as (laughs) 'The Hardcore Soft-Drink'. But they have almost zero exports due to anti-drug laws in other countries, is that what you are thinking about?"

Pablo replied:

"Yes, and they are a relatively elitist cooperative because not everybody has the 'ethical flexibility' to consider selling such drinks, so I doubt their members will have much restraints about having me helping them to 'export' their merchandise worldwide, starting with Yanitaria"

*gunshot*

His informant falls on the ground as the silhouette of an armed man looms at the distance. Pablo quickly run behind a container for cover and draws his 9mm pistol. "Vigilantes... I didn't expect them to exist anymore", he muttered to himself as he remained hidden, in full alert, his immediate thought being "I need to get those 50,000 credits back before that damn Vigilante decides to 'confiscate' it and run away like a coward".

Five minutes and no attempt of attacking him happened. Pablo took off his jacket and grabbed a loose iron rod. He wavered it using the rod beyond the cover of the containers and not a single shot was fired. With some fear, he got out of the cover, and wasn't shot either. After checking around for a minute he concluded the assaulter was gone. He checked the body of his informant and his credit card was still there and took it for him, he finally concluded: "That wasn't a vigilante. It's clear my informant knew too much from other 'business', but the question is, who?'. Pondering about the events that passed, he left the harbor and found his car still parked safely. He went back to the hotel to have some rest before meeting the members of Cocaine-Cola cooperative.

OOC: The "Zen" is what the people would buy, and "security forces" are basically any armed citizen who witnesses a criminal in action.

Go to the Museum of Fine Arts. Wait in front of the building. A homeless man will ask you for any of the old Yanitarian Denarii, tell him that you only have 3 Atlas and 6 pence.

He will then tell you that it is a fair day for a nice limo. He'll nod towards a limo, and you will get in.

Our limo will take you to the docks, where a small ship will take you 19 miles out. There, the airship will be waiting, and it will drop a harness to take on you and your entourage.

Nicoli was now flying in to this country called...Yanitaria, with him were two Montana security guards. Despite the orders from Confederate high Command at the peak of the civil war to keep all civilian aircraft grounded, Montana Inc paid a few radar operators to look the other way. The two men had the standard .38 come-apart 5 shot pistols. Of course they were in the luggage and could only be found by X-ray by the guy who designed them, if he was looking. Thats how good they were, not to mention company policy required Montana security to be armed at all times. I guess thats what happens when you produce around 800 kilos of cocaine daily.

Not to mention other things....

After a painstaking few hours of security and car rental and hotel check ins Nicoli and one guard, the other was securing the Hotel, waited for a begger....

Nicoli on the other hand was unarmed and rubbing his shoulder where he got shot the last time he was making an arms deal.

Airship, over the Sea of Yanitaria:

A business man dressed in a pin strip suit sat across from Nicoli. The room had a large bubble window, providing an excellent view of Yanitaria City.

"My name isn't important. I have been promoted to liaison to your company. For these purposes, you may call me Pavlov. So lets talk business. We have a new drug that's been in development for the last 10 years, that you might like. It is called Shift. It's a psychotropic fluid that can be delivered in ultra small does. A small gell pill, or a mini-syringe could be used, making the effects start as soon as 4 minutes, with a syringe.

"It has a 98% addiction rate, because it has a combination of physical and chemical dependency. Effects are short, because that's where the money is. Imagine selling a drug that's extremely addictive, but only lasts a few hours. People would buy many doses just to keep them through the weekend.

"The effects are pretty nice too, I am told. CU members aren't allowed to use drugs. Shift causes your body to release adrenaline, and starts breaking down ATP into ADP, causing a major boost in energy. In a matter of 10 minutes after it starts working, time will seem to slow to a stop. You'll react slow, even by your own perception, but you'll see colors, and be in a state of euphoria that seems to last for days. When you are depressed, it makes you completely forget. Our idea was to make it seem to last forever, so you'll be happy. Luckily, the forgetfulness was a side affect. Depressed people will use it like alcohol to forget. And because it makes the high seem like forever, it should be popular with students.

"The after effects aren't pleasant. Extreme addiction, a terrible withdrawal, and it'll light up a drug test like a christmas tree. Also, you can use it for about 5 years before your kidneys and live fail. If you are depressed, you'll have 3 years before you'll contract a mental illness like Alzheimer's. For depressed people, they usually show signs of autism after 1 year, and must 'learn' to deal with humans in a social setting.

"The main drawback is price. It's about $100 for a 30ml dose. However we plan on supplying it free the first two times. have dealers hand them out at parties. Get the kids hooked, and draw them in.

"Hell, it'd do wonders for prostitution."
Mokastana
19-12-2007, 17:32
"Is that how much you sell it on the streets or to other major players in the world?"

The guard looked out the window and scanned the room for any threats. Not like the .38 would do much good up here, but it was always nice to have something to shoot at in mind.

"But your sales pitch sounds nice, i think we would like to purchase some to bring back to the labs in Mokastana to analyze and run some "test" to see if it is as good as you claim. There are always the poor who want a cheap fix......Now, what we would like to show you is what Montana is selling as well.

Under drugs we are one of the worlds largest producers of cocaine, producing over 800 kilos daily. Most to medical firms and corporations around the world but a few on the side deals as well. Also we have a drug called Vida, very similiar to your drug, except with minimal addiction potential, well physical anyways, the psychological addiction is beautiful to watch. It last 6 to 7 hours and all it is pure euphoria, the main side effect is that you want everyone to be as happy as you. Imagine slipping this into a woman's drink, after 2 minutes she wants to make you the happiest man in the world.

On the military side our pride is the IronHeart APC, designed by the men and women of Lyras this has proven itself in battle and on the "underground" battlefields....."

"Inna grotta da Vida. Led Zeppelin. We may be interested in this for private use. Our drug's price is the projected street price. 30ml would cost about $40 to produce.

"The APC sounds interesting, but at the moment, we are extremely underground. Would the APC be able to look normal on a city street?

"As for our other services, we have many skilled hitmen, and sell your average drugs. We produce 500kg daily of cocaine, produce heroin, tonnes and tonnes of marijuana, vats of LSD, and we sell any sort of prescription medication you could care to name.

"We also have access to the armouries of Yanitaria. Anything that can be purchased in the Yanitarian Arms Store by a nation, we could theoretically get ahold of. Of course, mobsters aren't the biggest buyers of Super Dreadnoughts, you know."
Third Spanish States

Inside the ground floor a building designed to have the shape of a bottle, all Cocaine-cola members listened, either by being located physically at the meeting room, or through teleconference, to the sixth attempt of Pablo Medellin to export their merchandise illegally to the rest of the world, starting with Yanitaria. Heated discussions on ethics and risks already happened before. This time the focus was how much of the sales profits each part would get. After weary negotiations, someone got up from his chair and said in a loud and decisive tone, he was a tall but overweight bald middle-aged man of brown eyes.

"Last deal: Fifty-fifty or we won't speak any further"

As a commotion happened between the people in the meeting room and with loudspeakers announcing the cacophony of the teleconferences, Pablo looked at him, weary of such a long negotiation:

"Wise guy. Your offer seems fair enough, if most of you agree here, it's a deal"

Then some voices were heard claiming things like: "I am out of this cooperative. Cocaine-cola went so low on morality that it's unbelievable! Selling drugs to adults is one thing, reaping surplus-value with the capitalist pigs is another!". Such day was the day with the largest amount of people ever to voluntarily leave a cooperative in Third Spanish States, and soon the 55% who approved the proposal became 100%, Pablo then frowned as he mood went really down:

"If anyone of them denounces me, I will burn your lovely factories to the ground and I will kill each of you, one by one and all your families!"

Then almost instinctively one of the Cocaine-cola members in the room drew his MP7 submachinegun against Pablo, who, aware of being outnumbered, ran through the window and jumped away, barely escaping from bursts of fire. Soon all other members drew their weapons and shouted in a voice the resonated in the nearby streets "Capitalist pig! He tried to blackmail us! Kill him!"

"Crap! An angry mob of citizens armed with submachineguns, pistols and assault rifles will get to me at any moment now, I must hurry", he thought as he ran to his car, with his pistol ready. He then took the key to turn it and get away. It didn't go.

"Damn alternative fuels! Not this time! Get on! Get on!", he furiously attempted to turn on his car as a mob already was approaching his location.

It worked. He then immediately stepped in the accelerator and went at full power ahead, hoping that the fact his vehicle model is popular would make it easy for him to blend in the traffic. After running for a while in the chaotic streets of Tucker, he finally managed to get rid of his. He then turned on his car radio only to hear.

"Attention. The suspected leader of the largest capitalist criminal organization in Third Spanish States was finally identified as he tried to blackmail Cocaine-Cola cooperative. His name is Pablo Medellin and here is his picture: for those listening through the radio he is a tall, slender man of about 1.83 meters height, with brown short and curly hairs, brown eyes and a characteristic scar at his left cheek, he is armed and is skilled in combat, so unless you have experience fighting criminals or military training, do not attempt to intercept him. We believe he is heading to his apartment at Shale Street, 5032, number 562 at the 56th floor. All those capable are asked to eliminate him, as his death will crumble organized crime in the Confederacy. This is a transmission of SafeNet, if you would like to discuss and vote on public security related issues, join the SafeNet."

After it some music went back. Pablo then realized the mistake he made in Cocaine-cola: should he not have threatened its members, he would now have a profitable agreement which would allow him to expand his business beyond Third Spanish States, now he is nothing but a criminal who managed to call the attention of the entire nation and that any able-bodied citizen would be proud to kill. Thankfully the windows of his car were fully tinted and many did that with their cars too, hopefully he would manage to reach the International Harbor in safety from where he would be able to find a escape route to safer territories. While on his way, his cell phone calls, he then answers:

"Hello? Who is there?"

"I cannot say my name, but I can sell you something very valuable if you wish: I can sell you the formula of Cocaine-cola"

"Do you think I am an idiot? I will hunt and kill you too damn grifter from Cocaine-Cola!"

"I'm not a grifter, Cocaine-cola uses a genetically modified plant from where they extract coca leaves, it's called the CL-701 variant, I'm sending some technical details about it to your personal computer as freebies. Suffice to say, if you buy the whole formula you'll be able to expand it internationally without having to deal with those jerks."

"I am checking my computer now", Pablo replied as he opened his notebook, and soon saw an e@mail message with the archive. It was digitally signed with a 10240 bits key, of the type forging is basically impossible and was overall believable from the limited chemistry knowledge he had. He concluded then as he answered to the phone: "Only a computers, biology and chemistry genius would manage to forge such thing, so all right, you convinced me. Where and how much do you want?"

"250 millions of mutualist credits, the voice replied the account number is 801,987 at Banque Nationale Suisse"

"I won't question the price, but know that if for some kind of genius plot you cheated me, I already traced your cell phone and I will get back and kill you. I'll only deposit 10,000 m¢ now. Send me the formula first for the rest!"

He then called a goon to make the deposit, and then listened:

"I've sent it to you, check it first if you wish."

"I'm resending it to my drugs chemistry expert, he'll check it for me, and if you pulled a cheat, you better send those 10,000 back."

He then resent the mail to his scientist. Five minutes later came the answer: it was definitively a legitimate formula. By then he was about to reach the harbor. Then he ordered another transfer and replied to the fixer: "Your money should be sent, and I'm glad you were honest in your deal, goodbye for now".

Ahead of was the harbor, his memories flashing about the death of his informant, and then he parked his car discreetly and headed to one of his contacts, trying to be as discreet as possible. After greeting him, he replied in a low voice:

"I need to get out of the country as soon as possible, I'm going to Yanitaria for business!"

"I heard the news, I'll arrange something as fast as I can, now lay low for a few minutes, I'll be back", he replied. Then Pablo sat down and checked his computer. No new messages came, then he closed it and waited, while being alert to any threat. Finally he received a message from his contact saying:

"A Portuguese export cargo ship named "Pescador MCXIII" will transport you to Yanitaria, also they can hide your samples of Cocaine-cola in safety against coastal patrols, they are landing to the 5th dock to your left"

"Thank you James!", he thought as he moved towards the dock where the ship would land. However, while on his way there, walking through the cemented piers, someone recognized him "It's Pablo! The criminal leader!". Pablo simply draw his pistol and shot at the head of the man who shouted, and at two nearby citizens before running away to the ship.

"He is escaping! Kill him!" a growing mob shouted as he ran towards the dock. For his luck the ship was coming. Soon a bullet swooshed very close to his head. All he had was to run as there was no cover to take anywhere close. Bullets flied around the pier and the mob closed in, he was very close to the ship, so close he could feel the call of safety, then in despair he jumped in the water and dived.

"Somebody throw a buoy! Quick! Get him!", James shouted from the temporarily flag-less ship which name was erased from its hull on purpose. The mob of people had no idea whether they killed him or not, he could be a dead body buoying in the water, or could still be alive. Luckily the side of the ship from where he was rescued wasn't visible from the dock. Wet and weary, Pablo met James and tipped him a million of mutualist credits before heading to his dormitory he would use during his partially forced trip to Yanitaria.

From his dormitory, he could see the news from the Internet where Third Spanish States announced to the world about his existence. He then laughed "Now I'm worldly famous!" and laid on the bed, pondering on how to do business on Yanitaria.

"I am Very aware that Mobsters don't get any military goods larger then the occasional bazooka. But I also know that mobsters have connections. Perhaps Third world warlords or some type. The thing is we are offering friendship, a few drugs, and a sharing of connections. We offer cheap missiles, APCs, IFVs, tanks, and munitions. We need someone who knows someone who needs a few of these things. Drugs we can supply anyone with, the beuty is the addiction, people don't get addicted to war, which is why we need contacts. Can we work out an agreement amigo?"

After a long trip, Pablo has arrived to the outskirts of the town of Fort Marx, accompanied by James, which has accepted to remain as a bodyguard for him for a payment quite above the average he usually gives. He asked James "Are our passports ready?" and was answered positively. "Now all I hope is that Yanitaria has lax gun control laws, as he looked at his Beretta 9mm pistol, as he left behind his heavier caliber IMI Desert Eagle expecting it to be forbidden for civilian use.

"Let's head to Fort Marx and present our passports to the authorities. If they ask anything about why we didn't land in a main port, we should tell them we are survivors from a shipwreck near the coast."

"But they're going to check the veracity of it by patrolling the coast!", James said worried.

"Don't worry, loyal James, I have taken measures to ensure they will find a shipwreck.", he replied with a enigmatic smile. "Now let's just head to the nearest authorities to confirm our visas and head to New London." and they moved to meet the authorities of Yanitaria which would, if aware, arrest or even kill them, except if their pockets were open enough for "donations".

At the same time, the diesel engine of the "Pescador MCXIII" which brought them there exploded due to a critical and unexpected malfunction on its coolant system, or more exactly sabotage, and it naturally sunk then. Most of its crew probably died, if not all of them.

If you feel the need to send encoded information we can send you one of our chiper pads to encode messages to us for you. "Well, I do need something actually. Four disposable men, still alive that we can kill. As well as some random nations military outfits, spec ops to be exact, it would be better if it was an organization, such as Black Cerebrum or the Red Mafia, but i doubt they have specific outfits. Either way i need four bodies that can be traced to nothing."

Pulling out a stack of hundreds Nicoli sets that on the table.

OOC: Drug and gun laws here are so lax, that some citizens drive around in APCs. Also, Coastal Patrols are extremely heavy, and there is active and passive sonar all over the entrance to the Black Sea/Sea of Yanitaria. Bribery works with some police officers, but the police are paid very well. Don't worry though, you might get lucky *hint hint*

IC:

An Ace class patrol corvette was soon at the scene, only being a few kilometers away. It managed to save several crew members.

Meanwhile, the Customs office opened for the day,and people who had been waiting all night were allowed to pass through, and gain entrance to Yanitaria.

As for the drug trade, that sounds fair, however as the price fluctuates, one drug's price getting too low will mean a complete stop in our drug trade. I suggest we attach a fixed price, exactly the same for both drugs. If it's even, we'll do a straight trade, but if it's not, we'll trade kilo for kilo, and whoever buys more will make up the difference in cash. Sound okay?

"And as for four disposable men, this is no problem. We have an active slave trade here, despite the death penalty for it. Any particular features? I assume you will be framing another country, so what is the most common race of that nation? The uniforms will be no problem, we can provide Yanitarian Surplus, which is a common export, and the uniforms from three other nations, so that it confuses who ever finds the bodies."

Pablo and James handed the passports to the clerk and then answered to his question:

"We are not carrying any contraband, neither we are sick or carrying drugs or food, but we have two 92FS Berettas for self-defense. We hope they will not be a problem here as this is our first visit and were are not very knowledgeable about your nation laws."

The passports identified them as Miguel Menez and Jack Noltom, which were false names supported by other forged or bribed from officials documents. According to them they were two Anthropologists.

25-12-2007, 23:49
The clerk answered, "The weapons are not a problem, I just need to mark you down in the nation's database as armed. One moment please, while our computer check your passport."

The clerk put the first passport into the machine. In the slot, a light flashed, and there was a beep. A red dot lit up. Then there was a small, indescribable sound of a scraper.

A minute later, the machine beeped again, and another dot lit up. Finally, a few seconds later, there was a third beep, and a third red light.

Two burly officers stepped forward, pistols drawn. The clerk said "Sir, your passports are forgeries. I must ask you to surrender your weapons, and come with us."

There was an unmistakable flash of a sniper's scope from atop a guard building.

OOC: I am going to say that the passports aren't entirely up to date, and that the name of the previous minister of foreign affairs was on the passport, instead of the current one, which tipped the machine off.

Then the machine took a sample of the ink, which was the wrong kind.

And finally, there are no anthropologists on any ship manifestos. All ships are required to schedule an approximate time and date of arrival, complete with crew, passenger, and cargo manifests.

However, fear not. You'll get into Yanitaria

Pablo knew there was no way to get out of the situation he got himself into this time. His thoughts were focused on, should he get out of this situation, kill the incompetent who created the passports with his own hands. He then simply slowly dropped his pistol to the ground, and James did the same and they nodded to the clerk as Pablo shrugged "As if I had a choice" and followed him.

Now their only hope was that Yanitaria had its rotten apples that would let them go inside, for a price.

And this is my loyal personal bodyguard because there are robberies all around from where I came from and my life could be endangered without someone to help me to defend myself"

Yanitaria City will have large cocktail lounges where the commisars, who would be the capitalist equivalent of a CEO, tend to loiter around lunch and dinner time. Mind you, Yanitaria is communist, but in the same way that christians are technically jewish.

"Now if you are looking for something a bit shadier, there is an organization called the Capitalist Underground. They have been all over the underground, eliminating the other crime syndicates. Shouldn't be too hard to find them. Check the cocktail lounges. Look for the guys with the nicest suits."

He unattached the tiny keyboard from the mutualist credit card and gave the card to the clerk

"Here, now it should work on a reading device, just put it there and I'll type the password"

OOC: Technical details aside, it stores the amount of currency inside the card rather than being an access point for a bank account, but can operate as a normal credit card as well through a numeric password. And of course, it won't show any 'owner name' or address or whatever. That's why people use more than one, because losing 10 credits in a card is one thing, losing their whole fortunes is another.

The clerck frowned, but it worked perfectly. The credit even converted the money to Yanitarian Atlas!

"Great, you are all set. The banks will take care of the rest. Enjoy your flight. In flight meals will be served at lunch time, and alchohol is permitted, although smoking is not."

OOC: I'll suppose it has a restaurant inside, because it can be much larger than an airplane

Pablo and James boarded the airship and almost immediately headed to the restaurant as they were hungry, they took two window-facing seats to watch the sky during the travel. James then asked Pablo:

"What would you like Pablo?"

"This occasion demands a paella accompanied by a Cuba Libre", Pablo smiled enigmatically

"I suppose I will have a Cuba Libre too, it's not the same as the national Cola, but it comes close"

James called the waiter that was nearby then, hoping what they wanted was available on the menu:

"Waiter! Two Cubas Libres (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuba_Libre) and a paella (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paella)!"

They were luck to be far from Third Spanish States, as the increasing criminality was about to bring an equality violent reaction from the "honest people".

IC:

A waiter served Pablo and James, but before the could do anything, three rather large men were behind them. Two discretely pressed pistols to the backs of the foreigners from inside their jackets. The third, in a heavy french accent said to them "Come with us, we would like to have a word."

30-12-2007, 06:28
Pablo had a quick two seconds thought before replying as he and James got up to follow the thugs

His thought was on how to do good business with Yanitaria's Capitalist Underground in such a vulnerable situation.

"I prefer to have such a word in a as civilized manner as possible, so I ask you a small favor of just letting us follow you. You have my word this will be civilized"

They then followed the thugs as instructed
Yanitaria
30-12-2007, 06:41
The Capitalist Underground was not civilized. Pablo and James were led to the aircraft bay. A small prop plane hung on a hook over the open doors. Below was the Sea of Yanitaria. Three thugs armed with SMGs joined the party, and held up the two prisoners, so that the had a percarious perch on the edge.

"Why are you here?"
Third Spanish States
30-12-2007, 06:47
Pablo quickly replied, in a cold and calm voice of someone who didn't seem to afraid of death at all :

"I am a representative of the Medellin Family and if I were you, I would not throw away in the sea a export and import international business opportunity. I am here to negotiate a trade agreement with the Capitalist Underground, which I presume you would know how to contact for proper negotiations."
Yanitaria
30-12-2007, 06:58

"Once we get to shore, you will be transported to your contact."

30-12-2007, 08:07
Pablo and James sat down and waited, Pablo mentally planning what he would say to the Capitalist Underground contact while James was daydreaming about inheriting the empire of his boss due to his unwavering loyalty, as Pablo didn't plan to have a son.

While that, things started to get very complicated for the criminals in Third Spanish States as their actions were answered by the popularity of extremist ideas and proposals and now a brutal "witch hunt" against organized crime (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=546442) has begun in Third Spanish States. Pablo was definitively lucky to be far away from his home nation by now.

The Airship arrived in Yanitaria City, and the two foreigners were ushered onto a boat. They sailed out 20km, and met an airship. They were brought aboard and into a similar office with a great view of the city. A man in a silk business suit sat at the large desk. He stood up and extended a hand.

"You can call me Pavlov. I will be your contact to the CU. Now tell me, what do you want?"

OOC: His name isn't really pavlov, and he doesn't speak with any noticeable accent.

"Greetings, I am a representative of the Medellin Family from Third Spanish States and this is my assistant James. Could you explain which products could you offer for exportation?"

"The entire Yanitarian Arms online catalog is available. We also have a drug called Shift (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13304712&postcount=36), that will be a big seller. We also have deals with other crime syndicates, that could mean more drugs and weapons. We sell airships, and all your basic drugs as well."
Third Spanish States
30-12-2007, 17:34
As Pablo looked in the Online catalog he finally saw not so pleasant news about what was happening in his nation, he however remained calm

"The Shift has drawn our interest, we wish to negotiate initial purchase of 12 tons per year imports, and considering the latest 'news', we would like to purchase twenty 'Chevaliers' and as well 120,000 AY-142 assault rifles as well, if it's possible"

He tried to account his fortune... he hoped that giving in 10 years of reserves would be worth for what he was to purchase:

"And if it is possible for you to acquire one, the Medellins can also afford a single Spades class stealth corvette, and considering how things are, difficult, in my country, we would be very glad to have a discount for the purchase of all those items"
Yanitaria
30-12-2007, 19:17
"The shift is no problem, and neither are the guns. Hell, even the Spades Class can be done. The Chevaliers however will be the hardest. We will have to forage registration papers, paint them black, and tint the windows. It can be done, though."

Pavlov wrote this down. "What is the capacity of your crime family, given the recent troubles?"
Third Spanish States
30-12-2007, 19:34
Pablo nodded to Pavlov

"How about 935 millions of dollars for everything on this request?"

He for a few seconds imagined himself as self-appointed dictator of Third Spanish States, but maybe he was getting too above his head.

"Are they ready for the picking?", asked the biochemist and drugs specialist of the Medellin Family.
"Yes, there will be enough for up to 300,000 cans per month I guess, including those from bribed CL-701 farm cooperatives owned by Cocaine-Cola confederacy"
"Good, the factories are ready to manufacture the first batch, can you guys load those cargo trucks?"
"Of course! Won't nobody suspect?"
"Hey! All drugs are legal here boy, did you forget? The only thing that makes us illegal is having wage labor and a labor market rather than being a cooperative, so nobody will suspect of another bunch of trucks with coca leaves"
"Yes, let me call the boys then".
The foreman shouted:
"Hey if you want your 3% let's load those trucks with the leaves!".
Soon several workers started carrying sacks full of coca leaves, and after a few minutes the trucks were full. The production of the reverse engineered Cocaine-cola for export was about to begin.

"This location lacks any city or population due to lack of adequate soil and is a very little watched area due to it, it would be a perfect delivery point"

At the same time Pablo contacted through an encrypted message his employees to start the transfer of $ 467,500,000 to the Capitalist Underground, which was then done 5 minutes later.

Several transfers of dozens of millions from offshore banks with anonymous numbered accounts were registered, totaling the given sum, apparently the Medellin's family fortune was very distributed worldwide through fiscal paradises.

(OOC: I'll do a timewarp, if it doesn't hurt the RP, otherwise I'll edit this post)

Enough months have passed for Pablo to become away from the headlines. He was having a luxury "vacation" on an Yanitarian resort with a private beach, pools, excellent dishes and seaside view, while James also was having it with his own personal bedroom, and though they were having a good time, Pablo's mind couldn't forget the death of his wife Maria. He seemed much somber and serious than before, maybe hiding a much more emotional persona behind a facade of cold blood, it couldn't be known. What James knew is that Pablo was not happy with those news, and that the blood of Maria murderer would have to be spilled later in revenge or Pablo would never rest. It was the time to return to Third Spanish States, where his name was also forgotten in the middle of new crime families which were doing much more questionable activities than his own. He went down from the Resort Hotel third floor and to the lobby, asking the receptionist the telephone to contact the number Capitalist Underground gave him:

"Hi! Can I borrow your telephone? I need to call my business partners"

"As you wish, mister Pablo", she said as she gave him the telephone.

"Hello my friend! I have good news: your father has recovered from the surgery", he said among other pretends, as combined such was the code to request transport to the cargo ship where the stealth corvette he purchased would be hidden. He then went to the seaside and looked at James "It is a pity we cannot remain here anymore, but if I let things the way there are going, it won't be long before an exponential threat to the Medellins come... those press gangs of slavers are pathetic compared to us, but they might be... useful."

"How do you expect our enemies to be useful?", James asked

"As you heard James, they deal with human beings, something I refuse to do because that is like waving a "kill me with your own hands!" flag in Third Spanish States, and those fools still dare to do such nasty business there by preying on immigrants! Anyway I don't like slavery, I am a capitalist businessman, not the "scum" they claim me to be. They also sell drugs and guns and nobody complains, and anyone there has the right to kill someone who attempted to kill them, so I don't see why those deaths I did in self-defense would be so bad. In fact, the only difference between us and Cocaine-cola is that they share their profits among them equally and we don't."

"That makes sense, an I think I am starting to get your point...", James replied

"Now if I despise slavers in Third Spanish States and they despise slavers in there too, isn't there that old motto that says: the enemy of my enemy is my friend?"

"But boss, how could you convince them that?"

"50,000 mutualist credits per year, that's what dividing our net profits per year by the number of members give, This is less than what I get per month, but is more than enough to have a good life, and I think there are more members than needed anyway and our prices are much below those of Cocaine-cola drugs."

"Pablo, do you mean, you're thinking in making our business legitimate or seemingly legitimate? What about Cocaine-cola?"

"We shall adapt to the new situation... even if we have to go as a legimate business, mostly legitimate to be more specific, I shall ensure that although wealth is to be distributed "equally", I'll have enough supporters and mechanisms to not lose my decision-making powers. About Cocaine-cola, they have no legal mechanisms to patent their formulas, free flow of knowledge, remember?", Pablo said
"But nobody will buy anything from you then, you are not popular there, Pablo"

"Who said I will be the representative of our business to the outside? You, on the other hand, nobody knows you or your involvement with the family, you, James Lewton, would be the perfect representative for the Lewton Pharmaceuticals Cooperative", Pablo smiled with a dark tone.
"It's an honor to have my second name as its title", James smiled

"You deserve it, after all you did. Finally, if we declare war against those gangs as 'legitimate business worried with the welfare of Third Spanish States people', this will erase much of the stain over our family.", he concluded and added "And the more we fight against our competitors, more popular we will become and less the past will be remembered".

"But Pablo, what about getting revenge for Maria?", James asked.
"That can wait, irrational hatred can be the ruin for a person who can't control it or keep it to be used only in the most opportune moment.", Pablo explained.
"You changed a lot your mood Pablo, considering how you threatened those Cocaine-cola people who got you on your nerves with their bureaucracy."

"Well, my revenge against them now will be much more sweet than if I used brute, mindless violence. I will sell their own product internally, but at half of the price they sell it for, their days of monopoly over Cocaine-cola are over.", he tried to smile as he said. "The Underground shall be arriving soon to take us to our travel, I suggest we part our ways and have fun, would you like another Tennis match?"

"Yes Pablo, ready to lose again?", he grinned.
"I've been practicing enough this time to show you a real professional", Pablo added as he went to the Tennis square with James, to forget a little about his wife.

"Good day, and yes. This place was a great resort, but eventually even in the best tourist attractions you start to miss those things that no other place in the world can offer, more of a personal thing than something visible and perceptible, mister Pavlov, if you know what I mean.", then he interrupted for a brief second before adding as they headed to the cargo ship: "And a business without the supervision its CEO, no matter how competent its staff is, won't run as smooth as it would with him around. Finally there are some wasps stinging in there, and although they are no threat to my Family, they are starting to bother too much that I should go there soon to settle this issue...", he then continued his long reply with a darker tone "And... I missed it and I did not visit her... grave, yet."

Pablo smiled "Yes, it would be good to see it", as he and James accompanied the Pavlov through the large cargo ship to see the stealth corvette he purchased as his "mobile command".

OOC: He wouldn't feel offended by it. In fact there are only about six or seven people in the whole world Pablo has feelings to or care about their feelings, the rest could die or be suffering and he wouldn't care, not even a bit. The difference is that the Medellins tend to be more "civilized" than the CU or the slaver gangs and they will always try to solve issues "diplomatically" before opening fire, although those who do not tell or give them what they want peacefully... don't come out alive either.

Before observing the ship, Pablo greeted and presented himself its crew, one by one, granting them a fair wage and "life insurance" for their families should the worst happen. He seemed more like an amiabler enterpreneur and man of business than like a criminal underground leader, although this was due to the fact he perhaps managed to become both loved and feared. Loved by the rewards he give to the most loyal of his members and feared for how he punishes those who betray his trust. He soon headed to the bridge of the corvette, where he expected to meet the captain of it.

I would rather come further ahead with it to the delivery point because I would like to see how it works in movement, if you understand. Also, if my knowledge is correct, it can be set to carry one or a few light armored vehicles, right?"

The captain seemed not impressed at all with the new arrival as he watched him talking with the Pavlov in silence. Just another inexperienced hirer like many others, was his thought as Pablo seemed too scrupulous in his apparent behavior to have any chances of actual success, though the fact he could afford such ship contradicted his initial thought on him, which was quickly dismissed. Maybe his mask of fairness was one of his skills that avoided him from being killed in his home nation, he pondered on Pablo.

Pablo replied "Well, I'm sure it can at least be fitted with a few motorcycles then" as he went, followed by James, to a vacant crew quarters and laid back, wondering on what to do next as several things conflicted in his mind. He also explained after some talk "I think I'll name this one as the 'Nihil'... because nihil means nothing and that's how this should be perceived by the 'authorities'", he added.

On one hand, he had to pay a visit to Maria. They did not even put her in a cryogenic tomb, as traditionally done to all those who did not believe in afterlife in the hope they could be resurrected in the distant future. One way or another she was definitively gone, and he couldn't give his condolences to her parents either, in fact that was not enough: he wanted to see her one last time... he had to, even if it meant bribing someone to dig her grave.

On the other hand, he was worried about the latest developments. Though the Medellins still kept an edge through cunning, discretion and stealth, now real nuisances started to operate in the form of slaver gangs which challenged their hegemony in the underworld. He thought ironically that maybe the best way to show them who runs business of such nature and that they aren't welcome neither by the law nor by the runners of the undeground would be by selling the slavers as slaves, or maybe a simple slaughter would do the job finely and also be acclaimed by the people.

And finally, he wondered whether his idea of trying to make their business seem legitimate for once would really work...
Not much happened during the first day, some chit-chat here and there and the watch of the ocean through the horizon. He would later have to cross the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic to reach his destination, but for now nothing was of notice.
After their first day, they were finally far enough for him to launch the Nihil stealth corvette into the sea.

After a cold, professional farewell to the crew of the ship, the corvette was deployed and started to move through international waters ahead of the cargo ship.
