East Ying

The day was young. The sky had just peeked above the dim horizon, and great shadows flooded the streets of Ying City. The lone call of a bird echoed through the great city like footsteps in a church. The streetlights turned off as the darkness retreated and gave way to massive light. People started to wake up, and again, Ying City's streets started another day of walking, running, driving, and bicycling. The morning rush hour started, and everyone was everywhere. The museums and shops opened one by one, and the city awoke.

The generators were not yet on. Lights flooded into the large warehouse from the large industrial windows, only to reveal thousands of large canisters of nuclear waste and other chemicals. A small secretary walked through the isles of the great 'palace' and checked off things on his list. The door, although not automatic, closed silently behind him. Footsteps mimicked him. He looked about. He heard footsteps, of a heavy man presumably. He was scared... Suddenly an explosion in the southeast corner of the warehouse set fire to the whole structure. The alarms did not go off however... They were destroyed from the sudden burst. The secretary ran for the door, but a man blocked him. The man was wearing a mask, and held a large backpack. He dropped the backpack and ran through the door...
