The Jihad of Turka-Sir

Turka-Sir
12-12-2007, 22:43
"We come live to the outskirts of the capital city of Jhualm of the small region of Turka-Sir, a rising economical power. While still having to prove itself in the world theatre, Turka-Sir has had some issues in the past that have been kept quite and dealt with in the Middle East by private sector businesses.

That has all changed now, as reports are flooding in of a hostile terrorist takeover. Earlier this week, according to a report released by the head of the armed forces in Turka-Sir, General Alhkmen Allahseen, a tape had been released by an armed militant group called the Khalique ordering all non-muslim citizens to leave the capital city immediately, and that the curretn government body step down from office. The tape was quickly dismissed, and numerous arrests followed.

A number of suicide bombings have occured around the city's central plaza, killing at least a dozen citizens, and wounding many more. These were apparently a distraction to pull the small military presense within the city away from the House of Representatives. A report we have just recieved tells us that all cabinet members are dead, and that the terrorists now hold the major government buildings, including a small Saudi embassy. Their demands are being heard out, but nobody knows how long it will take to sort this all out.

We can only assume that the military here will bring things under control. Kassandra Willing, BBC. Back to yo-"

Small arms fire was heard in the background before the camera feed went dead.

A man named Halim Jerashaw has been placed in charge as Supreme Dictator-for-life as Turka-Sir's government body by the Khalique terrorist group. A Jihad has been called upon the US forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. Angered by the government's resistance to send soldiers to aide their brothers dying in the other regions, the Khalique declared their holy war by first cutting the head off the first serpent. With the homeland government out of the way, and with the support of the people numbering in the millions, the small nation is now preparing to send out its men, however lightly armed, to fight in foreign lands. Other terrorists groups are sending their men and weapons to aide in the Khalique's aims.. Wth the US' already unpopular war in Iraq, will there be any other nation willing to stop the crusading army?

OOC: You can be another terrorist group travelling with the roaving bands of Khalique militants, or another nation to stop the army and bring order and stability to Turka-Sir.

The military of Turka-Sir is as follows:
120,000 infantry, typically armed with AK-47s, RPGs, Dragonuv sniper rifles, and protected with standard kevlar vests and helmets with the Turka-Sir flag on them.
Mechanized infantry brigades will be equipped with T-54/55 main battle tanks and BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles, although the number of T-54/55s and BMP-1s total in at a meager 180 battle ready. Although more equipment such as vehicles is hoped to be donated by other Islamic warriors.

In response to the radical government, which seeks to expand its war against the forces of European civilization, the Scandinvan Empire hereby declares a state of war exists between our nations and that until the dictator of Turka-Sir is either replaced by a moderate government or has been supplanted from power by a force of more reason and that is also more friendly to the children of Europe.

Halim Jerashaw's response to the declaration of war by the Scandinvan Empire shocked most of the Western world. Shifting the militant's violence from simply non-muslim citizens within the region, Jerashaw's Royal Guard Corp. are rounding up any and all Western tourists and news journalists. While many have fled the quickly crumbling country, many have been caught on the highways to the airports by the Royal Guard and are being detained in undisclosed locations. The terrorist group Khalique have threatened to commit themselves to the deaths of any and all Western civilians and military personnel within the nation. Two Asian reporters have been confirmed dead at the hands of the radical group. More deaths are promised by the government is their demands are not met. While most of their demadns are still pending, their most prominent are as follows:

All Western forces leave the Middle East immediately.
All non-muslim civilians must leave immediately.
All prisoners being held in Guantanamo Bay must be released immediately.

Again, their demands imply that they seek to unify all surrounding Middle Eastern nations in their cause. Their neighbours' intentions are feelings on the matter is still unclear, but reports of convoys bearing missiles have been confirmed. No country of origin can be verified.

As the situation is quickly deteriorating here Turka-Sir, only time and patience will be able to let us see any end to this confrontation.

Your actions are more than illogical and insane. You know as well as I do that a war on Western nations will ultimately fail because of this simple idea; no matter how hard you hit, it will come flying back.

Starting from tommorow at an undisclosed time, peacekeeping forces will fly in and re-establish some moderate control in the area, preferrably not anyone with any ties to you. You dare try to hit us, we will declare a state of war.

Honourable Mister President. We regret your think of our actions as insane and illogical. We do not see why you would send your forces into our country. Everything is well. The people are happy, our economy is booming, and most of all our security is quite ensured. The fact that you would aim to disrupt our harmony is quite disturbing. Please reconsider your orders. We can talk more on this at any time of your leisure, a representative will be quick to arrive at his earliest convienence.

We are willing to put aside your hostile actions towards us and look at you as possible friends and allies. For we are a simple people, and simply seek our independance from Western influence and corporation. "I told you, I'm not going to stand by while this injustice happens!"
King Raoul Lerin was on his feet, glaring down his long and rather expensive table at his High Council. "Look at this!" He slammed the Intelligence Report on the table.
"Your Majesty." said the Minister of State in a calming voice. "I understand your anger and frustration...but there really isn't anything we can do. The Army is barely ready to defend us, and sending it hundreds of miles away--"
"I'm confident in our armies ability to handle terrorists" shot King Lerin.
"Of course, your Majesty" said the Minister, gently. "But what of other nations that get involved? And our soldiers...the only combat most of them have seen is simulation. Only the senior NCOs and Officers were really here during the Occupation."
"Goddamnit man, I'm your king!" Lerin turned to General Korman. "General, how long would it take for us to send one of our divisions there?"
The Minister of State muttered something about only having 3 divisions to begin with.
Korman cleared his throat. "Well, Your Majesty, we could have Special Operations groups in the country in a day or two, but it will take weeks to sail in the heavy mechanized equipment."
"Do it." The king looked around the table. "I will not sit by as another nation is destroyed by terrorists. Now, I want the First Division mobilized and ready to move."
The Minister of State muttered something about non elected officials as he left.

Within a few hours, the 1st Lorotheon Red Dragons were starting to make the long plans for moving out. The new country's army first test would be in Turka -Sir

Anna Bell, BBC, Turka-Sir.OOC: What country or region of the Middle East does your country exist in?

Another note, the United States of the real world does not exist here, though the ‘Western’ countries of the world do have a keen interest in the oil of the Middle East.

IC: The Scandinvan military began to mobilize a large number of B-52s and three legions to be deployed as soon as possible to Turka Sir. Furthermore, the Scandinvan navy began to organize an expeditionary force of twenty eight legions that would act as the main force during the invasion and subjugation of Turka-Sir.

To begin the first assault of the war sorties of Scandinvan fighters began to do fly over Turka-Sir, though for the most part these were mainly confined to the areas closest to the coast as the Scandinvan sorties were relatively small in size as on average there were only about thirty five Imperial MOs (essentially a copycat version of the American F-18s).

ooc: Turka-Sir would roughly be located in the south-eastern portion of today's Iran. The border would stretch roughly out in a rough line rather than a blob most countries seem to be on the map.

IC:
Three nations have declared war on Turka-Sir. No surprises. But what shocked Dictator Halim Jereshaw most was the speed of the response. Phonecalls from outside of the country confirmed that three nations were mobilizing their forces and drafting invasion plans. Where were his legions of loyal jihadi from neighboring nations to back him up? Don't lose faith, he berated himself. The will of Islam is strong. They will come. They will come and together they would drive the Western Devils from their lands.

Scandinvan fighters were already soaring overhead isolated parts of the country. They were being harrassed with AA fire, and news that their missile sites were almost complete would ensure that a serious air threat would be next to nothing. THe missiles had cost the country a large fortune. Nearly $900,000 for each SCUD missile. They were good quality, however, so the money was well spent.

Turka-Sir's standing army of 120,000 infantry stood at the ready, waiting for the coming days when their country will be defiled with the dirty footsteps of the Infidel. But their soil will not have to suffer under the soles of the Westerner's boots for long. With a determined military, and a unwilling populace to being occupied, he was sure that eventually victory would be his.

However, there are pockets of settlements on the Western border where they sympathize Western forces and, if called upon, will assist them in removing the government.

And to the above post.... Would you vote in a leader who acts that childishly? Try to use some diplomacy and subtlty.

I would also like to add that once in country, I would like you all to post your army's positions on the map (being North western, south western, etc.) It would make sense that the soldiers of the invaded country would know where the enemy is, as they know the landscape better than the invaders.

The MH-12 Falcon (Looks alot like a smaller Pave Low (http://www.specialoperations.com/Aviation/Pave_Low/Photo_Library/pave%20low%20low.jpg)) swept in low accross the landscape of Turka-Sir. Inside, the Special Forces operatives stared at the walls with a little bit of apprehension, probably because only an hour ago, the helicopter was disassembled parts on their transport.
The helicopter dropped the men off about an hours hike outside a small town on the south eastern side of the country, where parts of a battalion of Turka-Sir troops was stationed. The eight men quickly secured the LZ while Captain Reyas checked his map.
"Alright, everyone listen up. We're moving to this village, designated Target November One. We need to gauge troop strength in the area, disrupt enemy activity if possible, but remain out of sight. If we stir up too much trouble, our information is useless. Lets move out"
The 9 men headed off towards the town as night fell, moving at a brisk jog.

IC: The Scandinvan first long ranger bombers began to make raids upon the defenses of the country and also begin to directly target any Anti-Aircraft positions or missile assembly areas that could be spotted using Scandinvan military satellites, this had been caused by the loss of Scandinvna aircraft from anti-aircraft positions. While, this was occurring the three airborne legions began assembled and would soon be ready to depart for the invasion. (Aka a legion is roughly equal to about ten thousand soldiers)

The main invasion force, on the other hand sent our the first part of their fleet, along with the first eight legions that would spearhead the invasion.

Miste looked straight at those words. Considering that he was the most mature out of all of them (his other competition was a pig (literally) and a fanatical Christian), comments like this hit a blow. The statement was meant to be a joke, but the war was still valid. He was sick to death of these idiots justifying war to their religion. OOC: I would be very surprised if any of us have.

IC:
Civilian casualities were quickly piling up as the air raids around towns begun. The country's AA positions were quickly being depleted. One of the three missile assembly factories had been destroyed, creating the most civilian casualties from the resulting secondary explosions thus far. For every death of a woman or child, the country's populace grew ever further into resentment for those responsible. Lines were quickly extending for blocks at the recruitment stations in the capital. Thousands of men lined up to take up arms against the Devils that destroyed their homes and lives because of misplaced bombs landing on villages.

Halim Jerashaw needed to rouse the spirits of his countrymen. He needed to inspire and develop a country filled with men who would not lie down and surrender. He needed to create an unstoppable force that would withstand the fires from the West.

Halim stood at the podium on a wide balcony overhanging from a government building. Tens of thousands of faces peered up at him from the central plaza. Many had come to hear the qords of their dictator. Many more would spread the message. A deep breath was taken before the speech began.

"My comrades!" his voiced boomed from speakers around the square's perimeter "My citizens! This is a test of our faith! Our lives, our homes, our family, everything is to be put to the strength of your faith! Allah has granted us with a strong will to fight for our freedom and for this we give our thanks!"

A roar of approval was met with these words.

"The West has once again grown jealous of us! The moment we begin to thrive and prosper, they seek to kick out our legs so we are forced to bow at their feet! Like in the ancient times, the crusaders are coming! They are coming and they bring fire and death with them! Our mothers, our fathers; our sons and our daughters; our friends and collegues... None will be spared! They will bathe in the blood of our cause! Well I say to them, let them drown! Let them drown on our commitment to our cause! Let them come to our lands, for each one will wish they had stayed home after a day here! We will push ever harder as they push! For every inch of soil they seek to take, we will equal it in the amount of blood we will shed from them! Inshallah, we will be victorious! For we are the Followers of the true path, and our Blessed Prophet rewards those who follow the divine path!"

Another pause to let the applause die down.

"Will we bow down to these arrogant Infidels who seek to steal away our fortune?"

"NO!" was the massive roar, which emmited from the huge monster the crowd formed.

"Will we stand by and watch as they rape our women, enslave our children, spit on our elder's heads?"

"NO!"

"No! We will fight with the courage Allah has granted us! We will fight to our last man, woman, and child! For it is better to die on one's feet, than it is to live on your knees!"

An applause which dwarfed the others sounded out, rattling the loose wares in nearby market stands. Halim felt a chill down his spine. The West was coming, and he knew that his people would fight for them, or at least hinder their approach. For a fighting cahnce, Halim had gambled that the lives of the Western civilians and reporters still being held captive would deter any retaliation. He lost. He had gambled that other surrounding nations would aide him. He lost again. It was not looking well for him, even with his legions of supporters applauding him down below from the balcony.

My country is an extreme example of what could happen. No disrespect is meant. It is solely meant for this topic alone.

IC:
The small backwater town of Kelesh was not as indefensible as it appeared. The flimsy tockade walls around the northern approach prevented anything bigger than a mule to cross into the well protected bottleneck fo the town's gate. The village didnt need to protect the southern approach, because the steep heel which is resided on acted as a natural barrier from any attack. What the garrison inside the city, numbering close to three score military-geared men, didn't take into account was that their single AA battery had jammed. Of course, this didn't take into account that most households had at least an AK-47 for every man of the house. No doubt that if conflict erupted, the civilians inside the town would have no choice but to defend themselves.

Night was falling, and the garrison stationed in the village was on high alert. At least two fleets were reported to be sailing their way, along with another fleet of airships with foreign soldiers armed to the teeth with the latest weapons and equipment. Constant air raids made sleepless nights all the more worse. Highly trained personally by the Royal Guard Corp. in the capital's barracks, each battalion in the army of Turka-Sir was a force to not be taken lightly. What they lacked in high-tech weaponry, they made up for in the knowledge of the land they fought for.

Fires glowed in the failing light in the village. A few scouts guarded the fifty yard perimeter that was set around the village. To the north was a gentle slope before a vast expanse of desert with a broken road cut through it. To the south was a steeper slope with a few thin trees to act as a screen at the base of the large hill.

"Up ahead, sir" Sergeant Warton knelt next to Captain Reylas. "It looks like a reinforced company in the village up ahead. I'd estimate maybe 50, 60 men, plus any militia in the village. I don't see any vehicles besides a few trucks (OOC: Is that correct?)"
The captain studied the map.
"Alright. The only way to get into this village without raiding a fuss is through the main gate. But thats to small to get even a car in without trouble." He paused as he looked about. "If we hit them now with explosives, we're stuck here with only our two MH-12s for air cover, and they're too loud and slow for this." (OOC: The MH-12s are flying out of what would be near Al Basrah, about 100 km away)
"Yesir." Sergeant Warton said "So what do we do?"
"Sentries...whats the air cover like around here?"
Sergeant Gerath piped up. "Light, sir. Any planes they have are busy on interception fights. Or hiding."
"Right. OK, here's what we'll do. Each or you take your fire teams around the flanks. I'll go with you, Warton. We'll go left, Gerath will go right. The snipers will take out the sentries and we'll provide cover. I want our LAWs and our LMGs set up to cover the gate as reinforcements come out. We'll then exfiltate away. I'll call the MH-12 over here now, but that will take wabout an hour and a half. That gives us 45 minutes to prepare, and 45 to engage and fall back. Understood?"
There was a chorus of yes sirs

40 minutes later, one of the sentries stood up from where he sat next to the fire to stretch his legs. As he stretched, he heard a crack. He stared for a second at the man next to him as fell back into the fire with a cry. The sentry opened his mouth to yell, but the next round caught him in the lower jaw. The 7.62mm round blew the back of his neck out.

From the snipers positions, there were faint cries heard as the sentries darted about. From the village came the noise of an old klaxon.

EDIT: OOC: I'm assuming the sentries are 50 yards from the village, and the SF troops are about 100 meters from that, with the fire teams moving closer to set up a good firing position as the sentries are killed.

13-12-2007, 04:02
The alarm instantly woke the entire village. Children's screams were drowned out over the kluxon and barking orders of officers. The soldiers were the quickest to be ready. The men of the village grabbed their rifles and stood around the village center in a confused daze. The women tried to quiet their children by hiding them inside the homes. The commanding officer, Corporal Fahim, whispered harshly over the radio to the now dead sentries "Kwalahim? Ahkmed? Come in immediately. Inshallah, if you're alive, respond now!"

Silence was his only answer. Cursing under his breath, he looks over to his ready men. Six were armed with .50 cal Beret Sniper Rifles, smuggled in before the coup earlier that year. These would definately come in handy. He quickly says "Sniper teams, commandeer the southern buildings. Take out anything moving in the trees." The officer then turned to his Gunnery Sergeant "Jasham, lead the villagers out through the main gate. Take the trucks and begin loading up the villagers into them. We'll give you cover fire. Don't stop for any stragglers. Move!"

Fahim's concern for the villagers was abnormal. Usually the military left them to fend for themselves. The snipers were set up, each with his own spotter. Their barrels poked out from behind curtained windows, aiming to the rough location where the enemy snipers lay. Unbeknownst to the villagers heading out the front gate, two more teams were waiting in ambush.

Turning to his men, numbering 86, he said "The enemy has come. May the Prophet bless us, and may our deaths be swift." A murmur of prayer was chorused before they quickly took positions around the outside walls of the village. Sporadic fire flashed in the night as men fired at the enemy's location... Or a rock, or a bush.

13-12-2007, 04:14
The fire teams advancing towards the village dropped and opened fire, the snipers providing cover from behind as the rest found rocks, trees and slopes to hide behind. The cracking whizzing noise of the suppressed sniper rifles and assault rifles was joined with the clatter of the two M240 SAWs as the sprayed the houses with suppressing fire.
Corporal Hills saw the trucks coming first. He whispered into his headset, then rose and fired his LAW, before dropping headfirst as a burst of fire shredded the tree behind him.
The second truck took the round head on and burst into flames as the fuel tank ignited. The screaming civilians who escaped the truck were cut down my LMG fire. The first truck slowed, then accelerated, before a burst of rifle fire hit the engine block. It slowed and then stopped, its passengers diving out to escape the machine gun fire cutting through its thin metal and cloth frame. The soldiers surrounding the vehcile dropped and returned a hail of wildly inaccurate fire. The SF riflemen then opened up with their M20 grenade launchers and M36 (Think M4A1) rifles.
"Snipers, switch positions! We'll cover you!" whispered Captain Reylas. "Move!"
The two snipers waited as one of the the LMGs switched from the trucks to the houses before crawling out of their cover and falling back.

EDIT: OK, thats better. I think I missread your post the first time.

Corporal Fahim's eyes burned with anger. They were killing civilians. Most weren't even armed! He stood up from his position and yelled into his shoulder radio "Sniper Team Two, direct fire to the right. Kill the Infidels! KILL THEM ALL!" he screamed before spraying his rifle's bullets back and forth across his line of sight. He took some delight as a soft murmur on his radio confirmed a kill "Got one. By the Prophet, I saw his chest give in!"

An elderly civilian wielding his family's old AK-47 charged out from the gate "Allah Akbar!" he wheezed weakly, while his rattling weapon nearly took him off his feet. Fahim was about to tell him to get down before he was cute down... Litterally. His body fell in two as the large rounds tore through his soft flesh. "Protect the villagers! Get that last truck moving!" Fahims yelled. The third truck pulled out from the carnage and rolled away, gradually picking up speed as it made its escape. Fahim grimly went back to the task at hand.

"Jahfur, toss a grenade into that rock cluster!" His order was followed. A few seconds later, a garbled scream accompanied the shrapnel-filled explosion. Two confirmed enemy deaths. Not enough, not nearly enough. His forces were being slaughtered in the open. Down to 33 men, Fahim made the decision fast "Back behind the walls. Take cover! Let them come through the gate!" He slowly back stepped towards the gate.

A sudden pain took him in the stomach. He was knocked off his feet. Weakly, he lifted his head, watching his brave soldiers fall back into the village. A fist-sized hole was in his belly. He tried to reach down to touch it, but his eyes clouded over and his body went limp. Allah had embraced him into paradise.

"Captain, we got two men down. Hills and Mulliran. I don't know if they're KIA or WIA."
"Copy that" Captain Reylas stared at the escaping truck. Not worth the trouble.
More important, the soldiers were falling back inside.
"Alright, everyone listen up. I want all fire except Warton on the house where those big rounds are coming from. Give him a chance to hit it with his LAW. Serith, you cover the front entrance, and check up and Hill if you can. Go!"
The fire paused slightly, as the operators moved into different positions. Then, the two LMGs opened up on the house windows, and the rest of the squad joined in.
"Cap'n, this is Harith, I got to Mulliran. He's KIA, got a .50 in his chest. Out"
"Confirm that" Reyas slammed in a fresh clip. "Keep firing. We've got 25 minutes until the birds show up."
Under the cover of the LMG and rifle fire, Sgt. Warton rose and fired his LAW, before ducking and sprinting to behind a tree. The missile shot towards the house.

OOC: I'll let you figure out what happens with the missile.

Headlights could be seen shining in the distance. Rienforcements. The low rumbling of the trucks could be heard now as the firing slowed. The missile impacted the house with a large explosion. The deadly blast took out three valuable snipers and their spotters, along with two injured soldiers resting against the wall of the targeted house. Turka-Sirian fire ceased altogether. The shcokwave of the blast injured and maimed many soldiers. Those that could still fight refused to get back up.

The trucks were drawing nearer....

In the nearby military base a mile away from the village, the surviving villagers were being hurded into infirmaries for treatment. General Mauril, the commanding officer, had immediately called the capital city.

"Sir... It has begun."

Within the next twenty four hours, all aircraft were deployed. Every tank and personnel carrier was fuelled up and sent into the countryside. All soldiers, be they veterens or recruits, green or elite, were sent out into every major settlement and began construction of fortifications. The Infidels had finally arrived. It was best they weren't caught off guard a second time.

"Incoming, sir"
"I see them" Captain Reylas whispered. "Harith (OOC: The not dead sniper), give them some fire to slow them down. Serith, how's Hills?"
"Not good sir." Serith said "He's hurt pretty bad, but he's not dead yet. I've patched up his worse wounds, but we got to get him out of here"
"Right. Birds are coming in in a minute."
The squad hastily reformed, Serith carrying Hills. Herith was above them, firing at the trucks, though at this range, all he could really do was hope for something close enough to cause the troops to bail out.
The two MH-12s zoomed over the village, before slowing and dropping down. The squad hurried inside, just as the first truck got accelerated forward in an attempt to give the troops a few shots at the helos. A burst from the helicopters miniguns cause him to serve and crash in an undignified fashion into a tree. As the rest of the trucks pulled up, both birds lifted off and headed upwards, keeping the infantry suppressed with their miniguns as they raced upwards and then towards the border.

OOC: Ok, my writings getting worse as the night goes on, and this is as good an ending point as any for tonight, so I'm heading off to bed soon. G'night, etc.
Turka-Sir
13-12-2007, 20:33
Its 20:00 hours here, and the sun has long set, ushering another cold desert night. But unlike the surrounding countries, the nation of Turka-Sir huddles close to whatever warmth they can spare and wait out another night of bombs to fall on their heads.

Scandinvan air raids have knocked out the majority of the power stations in the country, knocking out electricity to almost all homes in and around the capital city. Refugees are fleeing the country in droves as more and more military activity is occuring. Families are taking whatever possesions they have and are travelling to safer locations away from the despair that has gripped the nation. The new government body in Turka-Sir, Khalique, made an address to the nation this morning, stating that one of the Scandinvan Empire's military allies, Lorotheon, has made the first ground engagement of the war.

At approximately 19:00 last night, according to the adress, a large company (OOC I'm aware of the numbers, but the government tends to exaggerate numbers) of armed special operations soldiers flew into the country in attack helicopters and raided a small village. Most of the villagers were massacred, including women and children, but thanks to the efforts of the soldiers garrisoned in the village, a frightened group made their escape to the nearby military base by truck. The Lorotheon soldiers continued to fire into the village, until rienforcements arrived to drive off the attackers. According to one report, as many as eight confirmed Lorotheon soldiers were killed. Unfortunately, their surprise attack had left the garrison flat-footed, and as many as 67 were killed or wounded.

Dictator Halim Jerashaw condemned the action as cowardly, and has given the orders that all Lorotheon hostages - the number of them still remain unclear- to be executed in the public square at noon tomorrow. He says that this will be a demonstration on how Turka-Sir treats cowards. Dictator Jerashaw commented "These Western dogs have no notion of honour. Our citizens die in the hundreds, if not thousands, and they dare call us the terrorists? This attack has shown us that the invaders will not show any mercy upon our people. Thus we must fight all the harder. The next country to attack will have blood on their hands, for the next attack will be followed quickly by the rest of the hostages' deaths. This is the final warning. Any further attacks will results in more deaths. Just as they kill our innocents, so shall we snuff out theirs."

Our phone interview was cut short as another bombing run blew out the phonelines in the country. More information will be available at a later date.

Now on to sports....

A single Mi-8 flys over Iraqi airspace, the chopper and it's 14 passengers near the border of Turka-Sir. The men, a team from the YPDF's VDV and two men from the SIA wait to arrive at the LZ, a suspected village of supporters of the old government. Their mission was to prepare to prepare for a guerilla war against the dicatorship. The Yassian lieuetant and his men prepared for the drop-off. One of the Brydogs brief, "Ok, here's the plan. We are to make contact with a democratic supporters in the area and prepare a guerilla force to overthrow the leader. The rules are no civilian deaths, only fire if fire upon, and keep the shooting if nessary to a miniunm, Remember, double tap." The airborne troops began to prayer and one man spoke "Allah, Bless Us". The helicoper landed in LZ and the men disembarked and headed to the village. The men set up a position near the village to recon the area, and waited for any signs of democratic elements.

The first of the Scandinvan B-52 bombers wings began to firebomb the capital city (?) of Turka-Sir and other smaller bombers began to drop high explosive bombs onto capital in order to destroy as much of the city as possible. Furthermore, a number of the bombers dropped guided bombs onto buildings important to the infrastructure of the nation, such as airports, military bases, government buildings, and sizeable factories. Each of the raids were all designed with the purpose of doing as much as damage as possible to the city.

The initial Scandinvan forces began to drop paratroops near areas along the main roads and rail ways in order to begin to seize control over the transportation systems of Turka-Sir, so as to limit the movement of Turka-Sir forces between the various areas of the country.

About fifteen minutes behind the beginning of the Scandinvans raid, Lorotheon fighters/bombers flew in over the same area. With the Turka-Sir AAA and SAM launchers firing at the bombers, their radar signals showed up bright on the SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defences) planes as they released their radar seeking Wild Weasel missiles into every anti aircraft site they could target.

Alerted of the attack early by lookout towers on the border, flak cannons immediately open up on the B-52s. Each explosion close to a plane sent thousands of tiny shrapnel spinning into the bomber. The altervantive was a direct hit from a shell, causing the plane to erupt in a ball of fire. SAM sites were launching their missiles just as the main body of the raid flew overhead. The more accurate missiles claimed more and more pilots and their planes.

While the order to all AA teams was given just in time, the evacuation procedures of Turka-Sir's capital city, Jhualm, didn't go as smoothly. Thousands of civilians caught in the death rain were claimed by the Scandinvans' bombs. Critical buildings were destroyed, taking key employees with them. The air-defences did a good job at preventing total destruction of the country.

As soon as the army recovered from the shock of the attack, they immediately mobilized and sent rienforcements to areas around the country where paratroopers were dropping in. Some areas of the country were simply overwhelmed, and soldiers in the area were forced to retreat and regroup with rienforcements. Helicopters were called in to keep taken areas isolated with heavy fire while troops slowly retook key railways and roads that were the main arteries of the country.

As soon as the Lorotheon bombardment came, however, things became worse. Soldiers were forced to withdraw to safer locations as more of their air cover was being picked off, clearing the way for more attacks from the skies. Dyelli soldiers were still stationed on the coast, but in no time they were given the orders to assist wherever they could.

In the wake of the airborne chaos, the Lorotheon 1st Division began their advance towards the capitol. Equipped with slightly outdated (and almost certainly untested) M60TTSs and M113 ACAVs, and protected by AH-1G Cobras (The G version is the 'nam version), they uncertainly crawled across the border, the troops in front watching ahead for the inevitable mines or enemy troops, and the troops behind watching the skies for artillery and planes.

Back at the airbase, things weren't so sedated. Yelling and whooping pilots jumped out of their planes, having participated in the first bombing run in Lorotheon's history as a free country. 4 planes had been downed, out of the 24 sent on the mission, but this was not going to dampen the pilots spirits. What was, though, was the word to refit for close air support in case the Lorotheon ground units came under heavy attack.

The Scandinvan air craft, though losing around a dozen B-52s, kept up their assault, which had turned into an ongoing hail of firebombs and highly powered bombs, in order to literally either force the Turka-Sir into submission or to entirely level the city of Jhualm. This was due to the fact that it was traditional Scandinvan military policy that was rather simple when conquering other countries, “Do not give a damn about civilians, just beat the will to fight out of the enemy.’

At the various places that the Scandinvan paratroopers had landed they began to plan explosives into the railway stations they had landed near, destroyed large sections of railway with powerful explosives, and made parts of the main roads impassable by normal troops until they had been cleaned out by cleaning crews. Furthermore, they began to place electronic markers in areas that they wanted Scandinvan bombers to hit with bombs. Meanwhile, Scandinvan fighter jets began to circle over them in order to protect the ground forces from the relentless fire of helicopters which had already claimed well over a hundred lives and had wounded many more soldiers.

While all this was going the main Scandinvan assault force would soon reach the shores of Turka-Sir, two entire Scandinvan battle flotillas were nearing the coast and would soon be able to begin the main invasion of Turka-Sir, with the initial invasion force consisting of ten legions.

SCUD missile launcers, waiting weeks for the war to begin, were finally given the order. Biochemical warfare was a new concept to Turka-Sir. Each missile contained the ever feared Mustard Gas. After a fix on the advancing Loreothon force was confirmed, several missiles were launched. Unsure on how to use these new weapons, some missiles fell too short or too far of the target. But the resulting explosion, followed by the deadly gas, would make the areas the missiles landed in impassable for days.

The remainder of the border force was sent to intercept the body of the enemy army that circumnavigated around the gassed areas. Mechanized infatry assault units spearheaded the counter attack, flanked by mulltipe Hind helicopter.

Meanwhile, on the beaches of Turka-Sir, large coastal batteries delivered by Dyelli opened up on the approaching fleet. The heavy artillery shells exploded in the water. Barbed wire and tank blockades were the first perimeter defense on the beach. The second perimeter consited of both anti-personnel and anti-tank mines buried in the soft sandy beaches. These two defenses were protected by rows upon rows of pillboxes of heavy machine guns and artillery positions. Finally, behind these, were eager tank crews and the elite Royal Guard Corp. The rest of the corp. had been left in the presidential palace to protect the hostages and secure the ruined city.

As the war raged across the nation, a small, ragtag group of Special Operations troopers entered Turka-Sir. Made of a M64 Growser Tank, which hovered just off the ground to dodge mines, and 4 infantry, they quietly moved across the barren wasteland that had already been bombed. When needed, they would use their radar-jammer to hide the tank, and made sure to hide their infrared signatures.

So in response five dreadnaughts and eighteen battleships unleashed a heavy missile and battery barrage at the coast, using depleted uranium armed shells against the areas where they have determined to have concentrations of enemy soldiers.

Meanwhile, the Scandinvan forces began to see the results of the gas and quickly put on their gas masks and responded by beginning to call in airstrikes from the now common air squadrons to bomber the helicopters with missiles and also for the bombers to begin to drop bombs onto all visible armored units that were within the areas that the paratroopers had taken positions upon.

The first missiles landed just behind the 3rd Armored Battalion, 1st Division. The infantry, the only ones in danger from the gas, took too long to realize the danger. The troops in the first platoon went down choking and screaming as the entire division slammed down hatches and sealed vehicles as the SCUDs rained down. Some hit vehicles directly, shattering open the armor and crushing the crew, but most simply coated the area in the thick yellow (it is yellow, eh?) fog.
The command teams immediately began looking for another route as the divison fell back outside the cloud, until one of the choppers reported incoming enemy troops, about an hour away. The repot was lost to static as the helo was hit by an Igla SAM.
Outside of the gas cloud, the troops from the 3rd, 4th and 5th brigades (there are about 10,000 men in the division, and about 2000 men in a brigade) disembarked to fighting positions, now wearing ill fitting and uncomfortable chemical warfare suits. ATGM positons were set up, and the tanks that could positioned themselves behind rocks and sand dunes. Immediately, the CAS planes from the airfield launched from the strip towards the fighting.
The second and first continued backwards until lost from the sight of Turka-Sir scout helicopters.

Finally reaching the perimeter of what was once the city of Jhualm, they looked around them. Paratroopers dotted the landscape, making it difficult to pass. All they needed was a diversion. One of the men headed off.

A few minutes later, a large fireball erupeted into the sky. As the nearby paratroopers rushed to check it out, the group penetrated the area. They wished they could talk to the paratroopers (it gets lonely when your only friends is 3 guys and a tank that are supposed to be quiet), they were forced to ignore their allies. Their mission relied on stealth, and had to be carried out quickly.

They just hoped the goverment hadn't left the paratrooper perimeter yet.

In the skies above Turka-Sir, four diamonds consisting of bright pinpoints can be seen, by those looking in the right direction. Though it would be difficult for those on the ground to tell what they are without powerful telescopes, it soon becomes apparent for anyone keeping an eye out that they are manmade objects, as they adjust their course, apparently headed for a large, flat area with a few hills. Radar and LIDAR signals probe out from the incoming craft, which are giving the ongoing air battles a wide berth, and tag the various aircraft in the area.

Due to the rather antiquated state of Turka-Sir's air defense network, the usual preparation consisting of massive deployment of chaff and anti-radiation missiles into the upper atmosphere is dispensed with-- Intelligence had rated it unlikely that Turka-Sir had a single ABM in the entire country, much less a modern antisatellite weapon of the type that would prove a threat to a re-entering dropship at it's most vunerable time.

As the gigantic metal craft power their way into the atmosphere, small explosive charges under the heat shields on their wings detonate, lightweight metal shards flittering away into the sky as the weapon racks revealed by this unfold, missiles locking into position...

The team looked around in horror. The Scandinvan bombings were even worse than though. The city's walls were torn, their pieces lying on top of crushed houses. The once great center of Turka-Sir was now a wasteland, full of bomb shells-some non-detonated.

"Be careful," advised the team leader as the wrestled through the ruins. "We don't want to lose somebody to rubble."

Finding a trail of dropped goverment papers that seemed to be stamped "Mr. Halim Jerashaw" and vehicle tracks, the troopers hitched a ride on the M64 tank. They had received a transmission that the mission was no longer confidential, and could talk as much as they wanted too.

The lone Shansekian Coritz-class cruiser cut through the ocean waters, dodging minor artillery. A mere distraction, it covered for 14 IXBN-42 torpedo boats, which racketed the coastline's defenses. Even that was a distraction, as a flotilla of 10 amphibious landing ships grounded on the beach, each carrying 20 men. Landing as the cruiser finished off the weakly-guarded beach, which had been largely abandoned at the destruction of Jhualm, they set up position, turning around machine guns left in bunkers, blowing trenches and new firing windows, and setting barbed wire. But the true purpose was when the IXBN-42's docked on a quick-bridge and started dropping off the pieces for a cruise missle launch pad.

On the border, the large body of the Turka-Sirian army remained fixed on top of a large area of sand dunes. They felt it was best to let the enemy come to them. Helicopters scouted the area, getting wahtever possible fixes on Lorotheon locations. One legion of Scandinvan Imperial paratroopers, which had loss 1,500 men and now numbered around 8,500 soldiers, began a heavy push against the outer perimeter of the capital city and hoped to begin to push back the remaining forces of Turka-Sir into the pockets which had been nearly leveled already by Scandinvan bombers. On the opposite side of the city, the southeastern part of the capital, began to be fire bombed again by Scandinvan B-52 bombers.

On coastlines of Turka-Sir, on the Gulf Sea part of the country, the Scandinvan Marine forces now had been dispatched from the main parts of the two fleets, and could now be seen, with binoculars, by the any person on the coast. Though before the Scandinvan forces began the land assualt, a final heavy barrage from the Scandinvan warships that they hoped would be able to lighten the enemy resistance.

The Beach
The men at the beachhead dropped their jaws in awe at what was in their sight: The massive army of the Scandivans marching onto the nearby beach, and its massive navy looking as if it was bullying their lone cruiser. Its numbers were almost 5% of Shansekia's entire population, and that was just one of them.

"OHSHI-" said one of the privates. "Good thing we're one of their protectorates."

"Hell ya." said his companion.

Special Operations Group
The group, after trekking over 17 miles, reached the outer edge of a small valley. Inside, a pocket of what looked like at least a few thousand Turka-Sir troops sat and walked around tents and hastily built buildings, making base and trying to survive.

"Wow...so that's what we've been missing?" joked the tank gunner, who had just popped his head out of the tank.

"Yep," said the radioman, already setting the frequency. "shouldn't take too many missles to blow up a bunch of tents."

Within a few minutes, a lone cruise missle streaked across the sky, its 4 warheads the first true taste of war for Shansekian troops.
