Brief Description
Rasthor is a progressive, forward-thinking nation to its core. Even its conservatives bear beliefs considered radical by foreigners. For as long as many can remember this progressive thought has staved off infighting and self-destruction allowing Rasthor to remain contently isolated from the outside world.
The landscape of Rasthor is overwhelmingly urban, however the 'oriental' architecture allows the urban sprawl to more easily blend in with its idyllic background. The urban sprawl is so thick, however, that all of Rasthor's cities have, more-or-less, merged together into a massive metropolis that covers most of the southeastern third of the island. The rest of the nation is mostly composed of small farming and fishing villages with a few mining communities and trade posts where its viable.
Even those Rasthorids that wholeheartedly despise their nation prefer it to anything else and would rather change the nation than their citizenship. Progressive ideals, democratic government and a plethora of civil rights keep the Shogunate's citizenry extremely patriotic. Many look down on other nations as being woefully barbaric and crude.
