Requiem (Death of President Norheim, and others, Closed, ATTN UC, EA, and Errikland)

Yanitaria City:

"Yes, freedom generally transcends citizenship, so long as the nation is civilized and the people allowed freedom at all. Freedom is a beautiful thing, something we should all fight to protect. I saw my friends give their lives to protect it, and hopefully, it will never be in vain."

President Norheim looked out the window. The parade was almost over. He poured some more wine for his guest, Emperor Christian I, and put away his absinthe cup, pouring a glass of Yanitarian Red Wine for himself.

"You must forgive me, there is a digital tape recorder here. I'll hand it to my secretary, and she'll pass on the agreements to the Yanitarian Parliament."

Suddenly, he looked depressed. "You know, my son, Frederick, I never get to see him. He goes to school in Tristan Providence."

There was silence. The limo pulled up before Presidential Palace. A servant was already waiting. He opened the door for the president, and aimed a pistol at his head, firing three shots.

President Norheim slumped back into his seat, Emperor Christian slammed the door shut, and the driver sped off.

The gunman paused to fire the rest of his 20 round clip at the car, but missed entirely.

Fort Marx, 1m12s Later

General Charles De Remi took off his jacket, and eyed the young woman waiting for him on the bed. His lover of 3 weeks beckoned him forth.

With out looking around the shoddy motel, he almost jumped into bed with the young woman.

Behind him, a man with an AY-142B carbine stepped out of the shadows. He leveled the gun at the generals back, and the girl slid off the bed. The General turned, and saw the glint of Yanitarian pride in engineering, as it fired at him.

Point Harbour, The Same Moment

Citizen Herb Northstorm, Secretary of Foreign Affairs arrived in his hotel. He was very pleased, as he had gotten the day off, so that he could visit his son, a diplomat to neighboring Stoklomolvi, for his birthday

Herb's wife had died a number of years before, and he had no family, and few friends. The ever devoted father, he had made sure his son had gotten through college, and he gave him a nice job as an Ambassador.

He truly doted on his son.

And to make things sweeter, when he arrived at his hotel room, there were presents, addressed from President Norheim, among several other boxes.

Through out his 10 years of service, he had been largely ignored. He nearly cried when he thought of how much people appreciated him.

He opened up the first one, and suddenly there was a pop. A white powder coated his face, and stung his eyes.

Through tears, he read that the present was from President Norheim. That bastard! He had always seemed so nice, if distant. But at the moment, Herb has too tired to think, or accuse, and finally even to cry.

He slumped on the bed, and died.

OOC: I'm posting a practical response, due to the fact that my Emperor is in the car as Norheim is shot; if this is not suitable, please say so

IC:
Emperor Christian I nodded as President Norheim took the recorder; it made sense to record these sorts of arrangements. In fact, he himself recorded most of his meetings, though that was, oddly enough, not really on the record.

When Norheim spoke of his son, the Emperor was briefly taken aback; there had been nothing that brought the subject up. But then, he frequently thought of his own children, and he spent much of his time with them. The poor man, he thought, I could hardly imagine never seeing my own, I wonder how he must feel. Still, he knew that a statesman's first duty was to his country, his people.
There must be certain sacrifices.

It was then that the gunshots echoed through the cab.

Christian silently swore to himself as he reached for the pistol that he knew wasn't there; he had left his own side arm on the helicopter. The one time that he did not keep it beside his heart . . . No time to think of that. He pulled backwards on the President's collar, reaching for the door handle. Feeling it finally, he pulled, yanking the door shut hard enough to do expensive damage to the mechanism, as he felt the car speed off. The wounded--maybe dead--Yanitarian president lay on his chest, bleeding into the Emperor's fine suit.

The poor man.

A man with a pistol was seen shooting at someone in a presidential limousine, presumably the president of the United Socialist States of Yanitaria. Zooming in, you can clearly see that the supposed servant pulled out a pistol and shot at the man in the rear or the car. Let us rewind the clip. Yes, the man pulled a pistol and fired precisely three shots. The car drove off and the man proceeded to fire an additional, rewinding, slow motion, twenty shots at the car. All twenty shots missed and hit the pavement. Shall a surveillance team be sent, sir?

>>Send the first and second armies.

Yes, sir. Shall we inform the Yanitarians?

>>Who is there to inform? The leaders are likely all dead.

Right, sir. Transmitting data.

Complete, sir.

>>Very good. Let us return to thermonuclear warfare, shall we?

As you wish, sir. The Soviets have OWNED you, sir! If I could, I would have laughed at you.

>>...shaddup. You're an AI. You can't laugh.

As you wish, sir. Curse me all you want. I am still an AI.

The first and second Stoklomolvi armies, stationed around Yanitaria, awaited orders. Soon after, the Commissar noticed the armies, and ordered them to move back into their old positions. They did so, and the Commissar sent an urgent message.

Heavily Encrypted Urgent Message to the government of Yanitaria

We have heard of a man getting shot in a presidential limousine. Is everything all right? Respond ASAP.

He thought it was a stupid message to send, but he sent it nonetheless.

I take this opportunity to send my greatest condolences for your losses. I hope that the Yanitarian people recover from this tragedy with clarity in mind, and continue to provide for each other as successfully as they have in the past.

As the communiqué was sent, so was a man. He had no name or rank, or indeed anything that may give him away. He simply was a man, known to those he worked with as an "Operative of Parliament", or to those that feared him as a "Witch-Hunter". He commanded a group of no more than thirty Pathfinder Elites, who currently sat silently in a black MH-47G Chinook headed across Europa Atlantica, and headed towards Yanitaria.

Global Update

Today is a sad day for all Yanitarians. Ten politicians, all in line for the Presidential seat, should the president be rendered incapable of his duty, have all been murdered. Top among these are President Mattias Norheim himself, General Charles De Remi, and Citizen Herb Northstorm, Secretary of Foreign Affairs.

As of now, there is no constitutional way to appoint a new leader. Emergency elections will beheld tomorrow, with hasty campaigns set to appear today. Until a new President can be elected, Parliament and the Ministry of Law have decided that Parliament will take over all matters of State.

There are reports of rioting on the boarder with Stoklomolvi, as our ally temporarily mobilized. However, they have since demobilized, for unknown reasons.

The USSY has never had to have an emergency election, and so it is expected that the polls will be extremely unorganized.

Meanwhile, the list of leading candidates is as follows:

General Théodore Baudoin- Ardent communist, promises to capture the culprits no matter the cost, and raise the standard of living for everyone.

Citizen Jocelyne Eldegaard- Militant Socialist and Terranist. Endorses a complete socialisation of everything, and promises increased intelligence both at home and abroad.

Police Commissaire Richard Aldrin- The longshot of the group, and said to have ties to both of the other candidates, he promises less taxes, and more government spending on defence and law and order, at the expense of social welfare. Proposes Socialist-Communist mix.

Meanwhile, Yanitarian Marines supplement police patrols, using the old Leclerc tanks armed with improvised less than lethal measures, including powerful air horns and rubber bullets. Reports indicate that three people so far have died in the rioting on the boarder.

Standing in the hospital, with the blood of the recently declared dead President now dried in his clothes, Emperor Christian I couldn't be sure how he felt. He had been looked over, and was entirely unharmed, his own body armor, always worn under his clothes, having not been necessary in this case as the shooter had been very precise. So he had no physical damage--that he had ensured his government and family as he had spoken with them on the phone moments earlier.

Still, he felt odd, unusual, as his guards escorted him to his car, which then took him back to the embassy.

Of course he always mourned the death of a man he knew--he had only just met Norheim, though he had liked the man, he had had men he deemed brothers die at his side before, back in the war, and had killed men he knew well and generally liked personally without hesitation, also back in the war.

This, however, was still different.

Perhaps it was the talk of his son. The Emperor had already sympathized with the man, with his relation of struggles so similar to his own, seen his life and story in the terms of his own, and the words of his child had drawn thoughts of his own children. Perhaps the blatant mortality of this fellow, known only for a brief time but similar to him in matters of country and family, had stirred some certain self-awareness within him, something that had gone untouched for some time as the affairs of family and state had occupied his thoughts.

He contemplated this as he walked across the heliport on the roof of the embassy, approaching the transport to his home country soaked in the blood of a recently deceased foreign man.

Yanitaria City:

General Baudoin smiled at the other two presidential candidates sitting at the table of their post Yanitarian City hotel. He picked up his cell phone, and dialed the number. The phone was picked up, but no one answered.

"Good job. Now it is time to finish this."

The person on the other line hung up.

Parliament Building:

Three Les Enfants Perdus soldiers, The Lost Children of Yanitaria, finished rigging the explosives.

Just as they had done in France, in The New True Cross, and in Yanitaria during the insurgency, a few years earlier, they measured the wires, and shaped their C-4.

Then, silent as a shadow, they left.

Thirty minutes later, the explosives went off, bringing down the parliament building, and the every member of Parliament.

The City Streets:

Yanitarian Marines fired on policemen, and fellow marines. The coup was in full swing, and with in minutes, General Baudoin was on the giant TV on Park Blv, addressing the nation.

"Citizens! Lay down your arms! There is no need for bloodshed! Yanitaria's salvation is here! My fellow presidential candidates and I have founded a new party, as allowed by the constitution. We are your new leaders now, under the banner of the United Party of Yanitaria! End the fighting now, and all will be pardoned!"

As ordered, the rogue marines laid down their weapons. Minutes later the other combatants did as well. The fighting had lasted a little under the hour, and now a new government ruled.

(OOC: Any conversations with Parliament will go on, assuming they finished speaking to foreigners some hours ago.)

We have seen the uproarious destruction of the Yanitarian parliament building earlier. Currently, we question the motives for such brash and harsh acts, and the reason as to why such a pacifist nation would suddenly become violent and murder its own people? News of the ongoing troubles in Yanitaria swiftly reached Errikland, where all of the major news broadcasters covered the plight of this nation that the Empire had so recently gotten involved with. Meanwhile, the government watched carefully, attempting to fully and accurately judge the situation.

The explosion of the parliament building, as a part of the ultimate coup, drew not only shock from the citizenry and great ratings for media outlets, but also suspicion from the only living man outside of Yanitaria who knew of the existence of the true culprits.

OOC: Sorry for the brief post, will elaborate soon.

IC:
“This is most suspicious,” Emperor Christian I, in a private meeting with ranking military officials in his personal study, thought aloud. With the recent goings on, he had revealed the existence of Les Enfants Perdus, if not most of the details about their history, to the few men standing before him. He would need their council, which had served him well in the years of his reign, to effectively deal with the situation at hand.

“Indeed,” agreed the now aged General Roberts, the Errikan Emperor’s highest commander. He had been so since the Civil War, when he was essentially the second in command to the young, headstrong idealist who now sat in the thrown, leading the Empire’s initial steps into colonial imperialism and helping to craft the Imperial military into the effective, well-oiled machine that it was today in his years at the head of the High Military Council, the foremost military authority with power comparable to that of the Senate, President, or Emperor. Now, while his mind remained sharp, he was beginning to show the signs of his aging, and sat beside the fire.

“My Emperor,” broke in General Warrensburg, the most recent addition to the High Council with the retirement of General Nathaniel Quail, “Though your suspicions are quite probably correct, we cannot do anything about it at this time; I say we remain watchful, ready, but do nothing for now—for there is nothing to be done.”

“Agreed,” Emperor Christian said after a brief pause. His thought was cut short, however, with a knock on the door.

“Enter.”

The door creaked open, and his wife, Empress Helen Victor, stepped into the room. Though he had seen her but hours before, Christian was struck by her beauty, illuminated in the crackling firelight. When they were young, he had commonly been so awestruck; but then the war came, and then the affairs of the state. Rarely in recent days was he so taken by her beauty, or her love, as he was now.

“No, my dear,” he interrupted as she began to apologize for her own interruption, “We were actually just finishing up. Gentlemen.” He gave his formal goodbyes, and saw them out of the room, to be escorted to their respective vehicles by the butler.

“Is something wrong, dear?” she asked, clearly concerned, as they found themselves alone in the room. Christian shut the door before turning to his wife and responding.

“No, my love, I am fine.”

“You can’t deceive me, dear,” she said to him in a pleasant tone, “You never could.”

There was another pause, the sound of the fire alone above the silence; then, without a word Christian embraced her, hugging her tight to him. She was right. Something was wrong, though he wasn’t sure exactly what. The entire matter with the Yanitarian surely had shaken him, and he just couldn’t lose the feeling. He couldn’t afford to dwell infinitely on this—there were important matters of the Empire that required his attention, particularly dealing with Cripistan.

But of course, he thought as they kissed and he reached for the back of her dress, that could wait until morning.

If you truly are the replacements for those great men and possibly women, then we expect state funerals to be held for each and every one of them. Yanitaria:

Overall things had settled down. Security had been strict, and the economy had faltered a bit, but otherwise, there was a return to semi normalcy.

The government soon caught who they claimed where the culprits, a group of wealthy business owners who had supposedly capitalist agendas. The state executed them by guillotine, handing, or firing squad, and seized their businesses.

Not only that, but the government level racketeering charges on almost every company in Yanitaria, seizing them for the state.

They then implemented a competitive system where companies, who where all owned and operated by the state, were to give according to their abilities, and those that gave more, would receive favors, extra rations, and more freedom. However, the next month, if they failed to give according to their ability they would have their luxuries taken away, and another company would replace them.

Furthermore, the bottom 5% of workers, who preformed poorly were fired, and a new 5% hired. This way, those who failed to give according to their abilities would definitely receive less, according to their needs.

For the first time, the Citizenry were expected to show their ID cards at check points. They were also given bar codes, to be worn on their clothes at all times, which could be scanned, bringing up any time the person had come under watch.

People were urged to turn in traitors, who wished to repeat the crimes of the past. Contradictorily, the murdered politicians were cast as conservatives, who may or may not have deserved what they had gotten. Over the next few months, they were expected to be cast in even worse lights, as evidence of their wrong doing, of drugs, of slavery, of corruption, would surface from the Party's Ministry of Intelligence, headed by Commissaire Aldrin.

Citizen Eldegaard became the new Minister of Foreign Affairs (which had been renamed). General Baudoin was now Field Marshal Baudoin, after renaming the ranks of the military, and President of the USSY and the UPoY.

Greetings, Yanitaria.

We have watched the recent events in your nation with concern, and wish to weigh in at this time. To the extent of our knowledge, there has been no punishment for the murderers of the former leaders, nor have there been proper state funerals for the aforementioned deceased. These, the latter ultimately being formalities, the former being quite a bit more, are understandably delayed, given your circumstances, but ultimately cannot be canceled all together.

Additionally, the nature of your coup and current power is troubling; we are troubled, of course, but we stand by stable civil government as superior to the alternative, and give your government the benefit of the doubt. We know that shifts in power in troubling times are often unstable and require unusual measures. However, we caution you be careful not to travel too far down this path, as it may be difficult to effectively come back.

Personal Message from President Baudoin:

The murderers and assassins have been executed, and their companies forfeit to the state. Please do not inquire further, as we wish to grieve and move on.

Official Proclaimation by the Party:

A remembrance will held for the deceased in one week. All foreign dignitaries are invited to come remember our previous leaders. Citizen Danielle Norheim, accompanied by her son, will give a eulogy, followed by a televised speech made by President Baudoin.

Please limit your security to two agents per dignitaries, armed with PDW's or pistols. Of course, dress with by formal, black.

This is a secular event, but those wishing to do so may offer a prayer for the former politicians. Several local churches, mosques, synagogues, and temples will be offering a candle light vigil, while the Humanist Society of Yanitaria will be hosting a festival of light, with the aide of the Independant Orthodox Terranist Church. The Festival will be held at Notre Terre Cathedral (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/f2/Sultanahmet_Camii_2006.JPG).

Elections will not be necessary. Prevote polls have already confirmed that the three new leaders of the country had locked in 80% of the votes. In an effort not to waste government funds, we will count these as official. A new constitution will be written, and in four years, a new election will take place.

About the trials, assassins will receive no trials, due to our new interpretation of the constitution on what rights citizens and non-citizens have.

The Charmian was in his study, playing table tennis with the ten year old Crown prince of Valois-Saxe when Jillian walked in and gave him the news on Yanitaria.

"so its obvious the course they are taking sir"

The Chairman regarded the papers she handed to him.

"So it appears, Jillian, I am Certain you have a plan. My only goal is to get as many oppressed individuals out as possible before the government shuts us out completely."

"Will do, Sir"

"Actually Darling, Jill, Come back!"

The blonde turned around, foot out the door.

"Yes Adam?"

"You know i haven't been East since we re-opened the borders and the black sea is gorgeous this time of year...what do you say we pay his Excellency a visit"

"Sounds splendid....Your majesty"

"Good then, send that new president a notification we leave after Christmas."

"yes sir" and she turned to leave.

"Jill, Merry Christmas"

But she was already outside and couldn't hear him....or so he thought

His Excellency is the honorific style given to certain holders of high-ranking offices of state or influential organizations such as a Bishop, Archbishop, President, Ambassador or Prime Minister.

ie: Majesty for Kingdoms and empires Excellency for "Republics federations and all that hubbub", Comrade for Communist nations

Oh carp! is Norheim a woman damn me and my sexism! well that makes me angry.....not that she is a woman but i had sum thing planned and oh well you will see.

(OOC: if this is godmouldy I'm really sorry but it dosn't work in another way...i will leave it as open as i can bump it if its bad)

The Phone rang in the Party headquarters in Yanitaria city an overly cheerful woman answered

"Hello! You Have reached Comrade(ooc:?) Baudoin's office! my name is Karamelika, May I enquirer as to why you wish to speak to our most wise leader of leaders!"

Jillian Burhardt (prime minister superior of Surailia if you missed that) took a minute to hold herself back.

"....Hello?!"

"...Hello! sorry, this is Jillian Burhardt calling to inform you that HIM Adam Gaultier and a small convoy of minister wish to meet with your new leader to discuss how surailia fits into your new order"

Great! let me just patch you in to our most wise leader Comrade Baudoin
Yanitaria
25-12-2007, 21:19

Norheim was a man. Also, I was asking who specifically you were referring to as His excellency, it's just very vague.

Also, Comrade Baudoin would be an insult. Comrade is the Yanitarian Honorific for foreigners, Citizen is the proper honorific. That or President.

IC:

"President Baudoin is a bit busy at the moment, but has agreed to meet you at a small fishing village near New London, where he keeps a villa. How many rooms will be required?"
Surailia
25-12-2007, 23:26
Sorry :P, his Excellency is Citizen .

IC:

"Four would be a safe bet, can your president vouch for our security or should we bring more than the 4 guards we intend to bring?"

The receptionist paused

"Ammm....Let me check with President Baudoin!"

"Oh before you go...."

"Yes?"

"Tell Citizen Baudoin that His Imperial Majesty and I will be Attending the Funeral of Former president Norheim, if that isn't to much trouble."

"Of course I'll be back in a moment!"

The receptionist returned after several minutes, almost crying. While she was gone, a loud voice could be heard yelling at her.

"President Baudoin assures you that Yanitarian Marines will secure the village, and that there will be no danger. I will mark you on the guest list for President Norheim's funeral. Will that be all?"

OOC: Currently it is summer in Yanitaria. The unnamed town is gonna be based on a fishing village I saw in Turkey last time I was there. Beautiful place, with so many fish, you could throw a net and easily catch a hundred 15-25cm long fish.

Up north, I added a town called Mt. Felix, which is on top of a mountain that has snow year round. There might be a skiing trip later on.

Nope. Just fly in to the diplomatic section of the airport. As I've said, it's summer, but the weather is mild.

The Imperial jet landed in the Diplomatic Section of the Yanitarian international Airport and down the steps came first 4 guards then a man in regal Austrian like fashion. He was followed By a woman dressed in a Cream full length Trench coat with Short almost plastered down hair and an air of utter boredom. Following the Woman Came a man dressed in a large Trench coat befitting the weather on that day he was walking alongside a Blonde boy who didn't look much older than 12. They both appeared to be in an intense conversation for they were both waving their hands and shaking their heads in an intense fashion.

"Did not!"

"I'm telling you boy!... That it so totally is......"

The bored blonde woman got to the the Convoy first. She seemed to take larger faster strides then she appeared to be making. It was unsettling.

"Are yew to be taking us to tze Meeting?"

The driver said the the lady in the back, "No madame, I will be taking you to the Presidential villa in Sogut (ooc: real Turkish fishing village. Nice place, I'm told). You can make yourselves at home, we reserved 6 rooms just in case, but really there are 12 available. It's not a large villa, but it's very nice, you'll love it.

"President Baudoin will arrive this afternoon. You speak french, yes? In Yanitaria, most people speak english, and either french or norwegian. however, it's mostly french. I know that the entire staff at the villa speaks it fluently."

"Did NOT"
"Did too"

"SIR YOU WILL STOP ARGUING WITH HIM EMIDIATMENT..." at this point ms. Bernhardt slipped into unintelligible french

"Fine" The man in the coat turned to leave the rest of car ride in an akward silence not before him and the child both mumbled at the same time "did-to/not"

OOC: Why are they in coats? It's summer. I was about to say something along the lines of "I speak enough french to understand that, you probably won't need to translate anything", but then I realized that there are probably other people at least giving this a once over.

IC:

They arrived at the villa in Sogut, situated on the Sea of Yanitaria. The villa gave an excellent view from atop it's hill, and you could easily see fishermen bringing in a large catch of fish, and the white sandy beaches. The weather here was extremely pleasant, especially for a day at the beach.

The chairman walked up to the house. His face had changed, he no longer looked as insane as the Driver had assumed before there was a seriousness about him that was almost as unsettling as the Prime ministers walk.....whom had just caught up with him.Creepy. The tall regal Germanic man walked up to one of the guards and handed him something that the Driver couldn't quite see from his vantage point.

"Adam.."
"Yes Jill"
"please be good"
"Jill, dont worry i have buisness to do here"

They walked up to the entrance of the villa. A man there took their coats and luggage and told them that their rooms were on the second floor and would be ready for them when they returned.

"Where is the president?" asked jillian impatiently

The Majordomo of the villa, who had just taken their coats scoffed.

"As you have been told, President Baudoin will be here in a few short hours. Please make yourselves comfortable."

Some hours later (read: after a long ass time):

President Baudoin exited the limo and strolled casually towards the villa. Upon arrival, a staff member took his hat and the coat to the suit he was wearing, and escorted him to the bedroom, where she hung them up in a dry cleaning bag.

The President prepared himself a glass of absinthe, and had the staff memeber summon the guests to the library, which had an excellent view of the villa's vineyard.

He strolled downstairs to the library, sipping the blue drink in his hand. He took a seat behind a large desk.

"OK ADAM"

Adam Walked down the Wooden staircase towards the library, as he entered he saw the new president staring out the window as he had moments ago....

"I hope you poured me a glass!"
Yanitaria
27-12-2007, 04:20
OOC: They sell blue, red, and white (Clear) absinthe as well. Since those are the national colors, those are the most common colors in my nation. I don't think color effects taste much in RL, but for my nation it denotes what type it is.

IC:

President Baudoin went to a book case, opening the false covers, revealing a liquor cabinet.

"In Yanitaria, we have combined the wine making expertise of French, Yanitarian, and Erikkan vinters. Erikkan and Yanitarian wine is among the best in the world. But the national drink is absinthe. No worries, it's quite safe. The old methods for absinthe making used copper to turn it green. Of course that caused sickness.

"Yanitarian absinthe comes in three colors, that will tell you a bit about them. We have the light tasting blue, which is good if you're not used to absinthe, and it's high alcohol content. There is the rougher, less refined white, which is popular with young men, and the deeper, richer red.

"We also have brandy, mead, and spiced wine, all derivatives from the wine, scotch, vodka, and Irish Creme, which the chef can prepare in coffee.

"Take your pick." President Baudoin open a drawer, full of different glasses.

"We have neither Surailian, nor wine made in the last decade. The newest year is from 1921, from Central Yanitaria. Anything newer will be in the cellar aging. For instance, the wine we made this year wont be available until at least 2080. If you'd like, I could have the butler fetch one of the newer Errikan-Yanitarian blends. For now, have this.

"Now what's this about Soviets? The nearest thing even close to a Soviet would be in Stoklomolvi."

OOC: Yanitaria is communist, and a dictatorship, but it's not what you'd recognize from RL. Basically it's capitalism, but the state just owns everything. The government administers the economy through Commisars, who were former CEO's.

So really, it's super capitalism.

Also, there is a great deal of social equality, according to the last UN report, so there isn't much of a gap between the rich and poor.

In an RP, one can't just assume things like this. This is my main concern, when I think about your HC membership.

I am gonna make a short list of things you should polish.

Don't assume the government type. People have a LONG time to ponder how exactly their government works
Don't use RL analogues, such a Soviet.
When someone lists what's available, pick from that list, unless it's really important. For instance, on a recent trip to France, a low level german diplomat was kicked out of a restaurant for asking for Bavarian beer.
Never question a national leader's opulence. Especially dictators that have locked down the entire village using the best troops in his nation. It's simply not done.

"We assure you that they will more than work. As for the military bas, we would like something a bit closer to home, to project our power into the Northern Seas

"We just need something in Northern Surailia, 5x5km, on the shore where a deep water port can be built.

"This will surely deter unwanted guests. We would also be willing to sign a Defensive Military Pact. This, coupled with the aid and advisers, is a generous offer."
Surailia

"Well..." He leaned in and wispered "We Want Tunisia" Be leaned back an smiled (rember this is a Sweeney Todd smile, blood curtleing)

Jillian smiling for the first time "help us with that and we will give you a Port anywhere in Surailia you want"

"But" The Chairman added "this Defensive pact sounds Like a bunch of fun"

OOC: I'll get back to you in the morning. I am hella tired, and I gotta volunteer during either tomorrow or saturday.

"That can be arranged. CTSS is a very weak nation, so we should be able to over power him. I don't suppose we could negotiate for a small Naval Station in Corsica, so that we may stage our fleet for the invasaion of Algeria, and a larger base with docks and an airfield near the city of Brest?"

OOC: I don't know if that city exists in your nation, but there abouts.
Surailia
28-12-2007, 20:42
OOC:i haven't written the Map for Corsica so its all good

"We already have a large Naval base on the East coast of Corsica" The chairman put out his cigar"You may use it for now. how interested are you in west Africa?"
Yanitaria
29-12-2007, 00:07
"We have a vested interest in the coastal side of the Atlas mountains. It's fertile, and has a more European climate. We don't care much for Saharan Algeria, but we will annex anything left behind.
Surailia
29-12-2007, 00:42
"Well..." the chairman looked into the Folder "binaria gave us a fright so we are hoping to take south Gibraltar also But there is oil in the sand so i'm sure it is profitable to yanitaria. More is more"
Yanitaria
29-12-2007, 02:02
OOC: EA is different. Since EA includes North Africa, the africa we are talking about a different africa from the one in EA. Also, Algeria has more natural gas than oil.

IC:

"Of course. We will deploy some of our newest weaponry in North Africa. Army paratroopers will land first, and in some areas Marine First Strike units in gliders will land. That makes ~20,000 elite troops, aided by our upcoming IFV which is air droppable."
Surailia
29-12-2007, 02:13
OOC: cant they be one in the same?

IC:

"Good....i love this wine" he reached into a hidden poccket and pulled out a Baggie"you should try this its Surailian coffee"
Yanitaria
29-12-2007, 02:18
"Ah, coffee! I love the stuff. The national non-alcoholic drink is a Frozen Mocha with chocolate syrup and whipped cream.

"As for our commitment to Spanish Algeria, we are going to double our troop count. What intelligence do you have on them?"

OOC: No.
Surailia
29-12-2007, 02:25
"Ah! you should have said so Earlier! Jill When we get back send His Excellency A crate of Suralian coffee. We got all sorts of new swank since we got North West Africa!"

"as for the Spanish Algiers" He looked to Jill who shook her head "No intelligence yet, we Sent in ....Agents"
Surailia
29-12-2007, 02:43
"But it appears that the other nations Arent taking our claims WELL"
Yanitaria
29-12-2007, 08:35
"Indeed. Best to call it off. Jaredcohenia might be a problem in the future. We will take care of them, though.
Surailia
29-12-2007, 09:44
"we need not fear him he may be big but WE are smart he wont be all powerful forever."

OOC: Can we just not accept him as a nation. if all else fails then i bring out GENESIS my original programme (best in the NS world)
Yanitaria
30-12-2007, 02:25
OOC: Don't use superlatives in ooc (words like best, or the greatest). Some draftroom members will yell at or invade you. And they tend to be the big scarey types with lots of missiles.

Btw, what is the Genesis program?

IC:

"Hmm, I wouldn't count them out for a long time. Perhaps it's best to offer money. They are notoriously corrupt."
Surailia
30-12-2007, 02:54
"if worse comes to worse I'll sell the colony....in truth my govener has corrupted it"

"But" jill pulled out a blue print "this is the most pertinent of our issues"
she hands you a page it reads:

The GENISIS programme may seem futuristic but it is well within our reach...

The chairman leened back and asked

"Are you sure you're getting the most outof your nukes?"
Yanitaria
30-12-2007, 03:01
Baudoin looked at the files.

"Errr, what exactly is it?"
Surailia
30-12-2007, 03:27
"Well" The Chairman looked down "its complicated.... In Simple terms i guess you could call it a 'nuclear flashlight'"

OOC:

This is an environmentally friendly way to blow away a nation

By Blowing up a nuke in a special Device I call GENESIS we can leave a large portion of the earth damaged intact but still kill EVERYONE in said area.

Also from what i can tell there wont be any fall out so we can colonize the area left from the explosion "Chernobyl Free"

Using the equation: Dispersion ~1/d^2. we can figure out a trajectory of Gamma Radiation towards a nation/city and depending on how far we make it we can either slowly kill the people or wipe them out ...burnt to a crisp. but Surailia has no space program it is not big enough for that.

OOC: Definitely, definitely run it by the draftroom.

There are three or four of them, but this one (http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php?act=idx) is the real one, that people use.

I suggest also adding your math. People respect you when you can show that you did a lot of work on something.

IC: "If you can get this working, Yanitaria will buy it, and get it off the ground."
Surailia
30-12-2007, 04:11
the issue is that most of it is theoretical....but its possible i can make a rough draft but it'll be crude...I'm not tech savvy
Yanitaria
31-12-2007, 05:32
OOC:I got nothing further to add. What shall we discuss next?
Surailia
31-12-2007, 06:47
OOC: we don't need anything important i mean i can BS

IC: "So also...you have voted against my peoples application to the UC"

"How can I Change your mind?" As he slipped a baggy towards you
Yanitaria
31-12-2007, 07:17
OOC: What's in the bag?

IC: "At the moment we are neutral, although leaning towards 'yes'." Baudoin paused, and took the bag.
Surailia
31-12-2007, 07:52
OOC:youll see

IC:

The bag not much bigger than a ticktac container it wasn't heavy.

"They're Diamonds pure 110% natural diamonds , some of the last diamonds I'm going to get out of my colonies"
Yanitaria

"Hmm, this is a good offer. Tell you what, in exchange for these, and a Naval Station on the island of Corsica, we will agree to vote you into the high Council."
