Hello i'm rather new to this part of NS and could dearly use some assistance, I've read around on a couple of posts and have read some RP on some wars, I was wondering how they get so much info on their nation when none of it is shown on the NS page, could I please get some help?

One word: Stickies. Just read the stickies, and you will do well. Oh, and, uh, use correct grammar and spelling.

No problemo. It's always best to ask, that way you avoid making a faux pas. At any rate, I can give you some literature to read up on (specifically, this (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=528099), this (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=416823), and this (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=416665)).

Basically, spend some time and take the effort to look around and read (or at least skim) most of the topics in here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=543994). If you have any questions or need to ask anything, feel free to shoot me a Telegram.

EDIT: When you're talking about info, economy statistics can be found here (http://nseconomy.thirdgeek.com/). Military stuff can be produced by oneself or purchased at a storefront. And you decide what goes into your army and what your leaders' names are.

No problem. :) Learning the ins and outs of this game isn't hard, but it'll take a little time to learn all the terms and what not.

Well, good, I see you've figured out how to telegram (or "TG" as we say for short)

Some basic terms:
OOC - Out of Character... meaning like what we're doing now... not roleplaying, but talking as ourself.
IC - In Character... meaning, you guessed it, roleplaying as your nation or a person.
TG - Telegram as we said before
RP - Roleplaying... most know this, but there's some that don't know when new to the RPing scene
Godmod - Sourced from 'Godmode', it basically means cheating.
Ignore - Basically means, "I'm ignoring your RP" - This is usually due to godmod... Don't ignore someone simply because you don't like them or because you're loosing a war, or you in turn will be ignored by most.
Ignore Cannon - While these have become nearly extinct in usage, it's basically a clever/fun "weapon" to ignore someone.

Got it, say some one declares war on my nation, how will I know? What happens if I ignore it, do I lose?

Also, some tips for starting up on here... start an introduction thread. Basically, introduce (IC of course) your nation, gov't, and leadership. Talk about your land, your culture and people, your situation (maybe you just exited a civil war, or possibly a disease-strickened nation, etc), your military, your nations political stance, and so forth.

Also, don't start a war right away. Make allies. Improve your economy. Train and equip your military. And, usually speaking, it's generally said you need to be at roughly 100 million in population before you can start working on developing your own nuclear weapons and power - of course, that's not to say other nations can't help you along with that... also, regarding your military, 5% of your population as military is usually a good number to be around. Much beyond that, and small nations or weak-economy nations will struggle severely due to training, costs and logistics of such a military.

This is all text-based roleplaying. So they'll have to make a post declaring war. Of course, in war, they must RP their mobilization, transportation, and so forth if they attack.

If you ignore, no one wins or looses, as the RP cannot continue. But ignoring should be a last resort ONLY due to godmod. Nothing else.
