In a complete U-Turn of its general policy on the subject of political freedom and civil rights the Vetakan Government Department of Equality in support of the Department of Domestic Affairs confirmed that further to Senate Act 560 the Vetakan Law Enforcement Forces would have greater power to punish and crack down upon those causing a disturbance of the peace of whom 90% are identified as Chav's.
A recent government survey and investigation found that Chav's range between the ages of 14 and 30 and are what the Senate report calls "the result of a catastrophic failure in the Vetakan Education, Welfare and Law Policy". The report which was the result of the Cheddleton Riot in which a group of some 200 youngsters attacked and killed 25 people most identified as being part of Vetaka's Gothic Teenage Culture whom where leaving a "Rock Party" at a local club. The Cheddleton Riot which also saw 4 Chav Males brutally rape 8 Women is believed to be the strongest motivation for the move by the Vetakan Government.
The new Law which is widely supported by the senate now allows the Vetakan Police Department to disperse groups of 4 or move chavs. It also enables police to detain such Chav's if they refuse to disperse when ordered to do so. The law now known as the "Cheddleton Law" also allows police the ability to issue on the spot fines, seizing assets and property and greater imprisonment ability.
The International Communities response to this is unpredictable as such policy by the Vetakan Government is a complte U-Turn on its normal domestic policies.
