The Dominion of HuTianDi is located in a remote, but resource rich planet on the outer rim of the galaxy. The system was out of the way and was home to a lost human colony. The colony was originally located on an habitable class planet that was the third out from the sun but has now expanded to include the rest of the system. Inside the system two of the ten planets were settled and contained numerous domed cities. Each planet and many moons had massdriver installations and numerous remotely controlled and piloted craft traversed the inter system. past the four terrestrial planets was a large asteroid belt and five gas giants. The gas giants had numerous gas platforms in them that collected and sent out packets of hydrogen. These packets were collected at large platforms and loaded onto a large bulk carrier. These ships then moved to the inner system where there was a great demand for the hydrogen in civilian craft and for power.
all the planets had numerous orbital elevators, the cables of which also acted as large coil guns. These large elevators were powered by microwave satellites that beamed solar energy down to the planet in large quantities. The defense organization of the system, which protected against pirates and the occasional uprising, obtained power from anti matter. This anti-matter was aquired from the first planet in the system. The first planet was a small planetoid surrounded by a photo voltaic field. This large pv field powered the numerous large antimatter production facilities on the surface. (History of HuTianDi vol. 31)
Several years after the publication of the History of HuTianDi
The government of the system had recently developed a new propulsion system that revolutionized intrasystem travel. The technology was called jumptechnology and focused around jumpgates. Soon jumpgates were constructed near all major outposts and moons and all the planets. Controled by computers these provided a new way to rapidly traverse the distance between planets. However, it was a unstable technology and required jump gates on both ends to work in a stable fashion. Still numerous people hoped that fesible interstellar travel would be developed. As the years progressed the technology was improved but it was proven impossible for the technology to be used on ships.
The impracticality of the jumpgate was averted with the development of a new type of drive. The Drive was called the spatial compression-decompression drive or warp drive for the way it acted on space. This technology required more power than jumpgate but was a feasible way to send ships into space. Soon the government assembled a state of the art fleet with the new technology to settle a close M class planet that was discovered.
Deep Space 11
Deep space 11 was the furthest jumpstation made by the government of HuTianDi. It lay almost one light year from the main system was was the point that the fleet would launch from. Soon from the sole jumpgate near the station emerged thirty ships. These ships were state of the art and were the fastest, most powerful ships in the nation. These ships were the pride of the empire and it would now launch toward the Revion system where it was hoped that the first interstellar colony could be founded.
The Fleet headed out into open space and soon their interstellar drives engaged and they disappeared in a blue flash of light. IT would take two weeks to get to the destination but with them they carried on board the plans for a proposed interstellar bridge, a new type of jumpgate many times more powerful than the ones in current use that would hopefully link the two systems together.
[Revion system]
The fleet emerged into space in another bright flash of light. The ships then activated their sublight engines and proceeded into the system at a fairly leasurly speed preparing to begin the colonization procedures drawn up by the interstellar exploration committee back home.

((I would like someone to RP some station on the planet, it has to be small since it is a remote system. Also if someone wants to conquer me please message me at HuTianDi@live.com (preferably over MSN but an e-mail is ok too) I dont mind getting conquered provided that the conquering nation will protect me.... but please ask first))

Coincidentally, not a few weeks before the Setians of the Andermani Empire had formed their first colony on this very planet. Slowly emerging from the frozen waste it had once been was a verdant jungle, spreading out from the Gate that had heralded their arrival. Now, with the new arrivals, the Setian outpost came alive with military presence, as the single Destroyer tasked with defending the system powered up its weapons and drives to meet this unknown and unexpected arrival, and if necessary, erase it from existance.

You have entered the territory of the Anderman Empire. You will power down your defenses, heave to, and prepare to be boasrded by a squad of Wyvern Combat Armor, as well as a diplomatic representative.

Twas it but chance? Perhaps, but more likely some trickery of the Gods, bored with ruling all of existence and wishing to stir up a bit of mirth.

Even as the imminent meeting of two cultures drew near, a sprawling Traileric trade barge chose to make what it thought was an unclaimed system a good spot to stop and recharge its batteries. Heinously close to the system's star, far to close for any organic life and thoroughly shrouded from any known sensor configuration by the overwhelming electromagnetic output of said star, the Trader (whom liked to call itself Steve, but would never dream of letting the other Traders know that it did such) dropped from its slipstream course into real space.

Every corner and nook of the craft seemed to open like a blossom, cycling up godlike gravwell pits to drink in the raw reaction mass that the star shed every moment. Within seconds, Steve had enough go juice to do several laps around the Galactic core. Unfortunately for Steve, and the Core, he had a schedule to stick to.

As Steve maneuvered his four kilometer bulk a safe distance from the star and prepared to make his next jump, only to notice a rather tasty tidbit of inter-specie drama. Always the poetic type, the Trader crept out of the stars fires and built up gravitonic pressure in his STL drive systems, preparing a modest little burst of movement toward the impending commotion. With any luck there would be fireworks.

If Steve had hands he would have clapped them with glee.

((you are a little late.... sorry I suppose though that since from what I know of subspace tech you can come into the system with a colony fleet with no knowledge of what is happening))

[Brdige of the Long]
The bridge was actually nothing of the sort. It only bor slight resemblence to the bridges of the ships that sailed the oceans. This bridge was entirely holographic and people worked on their own consoles. Everything floated here as there was no gravity plating in the room. The people int he room used this to their advantage as they moved around the situation map, a three dimensional representation of sensor data as it came in. In the center of the map was the fleet surrounded by a crystal clear representation of the unknown ships. This crystal clear representation also extended to the rest of the system but details were lost as the distance increased.
Instead the ships used thermal sensors to gain a reading of everything else in the system, With this they detected an abnormality in the direction of the sun. This abnormality was a relatively cool, and moving object as determined by the parallax gained from multiple sensors. for now it was merely a trivial consern as it was still some distance off but the people on board shifted all the ships slightly to account for the variable. Still they waited.

By this time, Steve had trundled rather close. Bringing his powerful scrying array to bear, Steve quickly deemed that neither of the two cultures matched anything in the known Traileric ship design catalogues, and were thus either: A, new or recent arrivals to the stars B: Horrible alien overlords from a distant galaxy that was itself on fire or C: technologically inferior..yet possible trade offers.

Logic circuits often frustrated Steve's imaginative subroutines, so he kept them off. By luck he decided that A and C were the most likely cases. To open up trade avenues, and/or direct a Legica to a heretic homesystem were two of the tertiary goals of Steve's ongoing mission. He wasn't a Surveyor, so he generally went more for the trade avenue approach, but trading a few billion xeno lives to a Legica for a few weeks off wasn't below him. For this reason, he edged closer, trying to keep the best angle, so he could get the best view of both sides, but the little bastards kept moving.

With an internal sigh, the Trader opened up his afterburners and accelerated to what is best described as a fat mans reluctant jog, so as to keep the zippy little buggers from moving oit of visual range.

((Ahm 30 ships))
The Fleet had numerous combat ships which moved forward as the single unknown approached. On all the ships people were surprised as extraterrestrial life had never been found before. Still they prepared for this eventuality.
The ships powered up all their defensive and offensive weapons and prepared for any combat should it be possible.
The translation computer was unable to translate the message sent from the unknown ship and thus no response was sent back instead the ships waited for a move from the unknown ship and waited weapons powered up ready to respond to any movement, hostile or otherwise, made by the unknown ships.
((it would be nice if you were to post more about your technology level..... as you can see Im with high end PMT technology with the only real FT technology being FTL drives))

OOC: I'm the high end of FT. Very heavy particle cannon, lots of armor, incredibly fast, heavy shields. Speaking just as a guess, I think I may have you outgunned if you're playing high end PMT or low end FT.

And my bad about the ships thing. I'm used to just one ship starting things off, force of habit.

IC:

<They are not responding, and I believe their weapons are powered up sir. They do not however seem to be emitting much. Perhaps an ineffectual form of stealth, or just very good emissions control.>

<They would not be so able to control their emissions. I am going to operate under the assumption that they are in fact as weak as they seem. Send the message again, and begin active scanning. Lock onto a random vessel. If they engage, target it with all weapons and open fire. See if they will respond, it would be nice to not to have to kill anyone.>

<Aye sir, retransmitting, and locking onto a target vessel, all guns, missile batteries targetting secondary objective. You do realize that this is incredible overkill if they are indeed as weak as they appear.>

<I do indeed. That is in fact my objective. Perhaps I can shock them into ceasing hostilities before too many are killed in what would undeniably be a pointless conflict.>

The ship's sensors went to full power, seeking out a target among the enemy flotilla, and locking hard onto its emissions signature. The 3 kilometer long Destroyer was massive in comparison to most ships of its class, and its raw power was considerable. All in all, the captain prayed that he did not have to slaughter the seemingly weak ships of the unknown fleet. It was not their way, they acted only in defense when possible, but these unknowns were seeming to make this very difficult.

You have entered the territory of the Anderman Empire. You will power down your defenses, heave to, and prepare to be boasrded by a squad of Wyvern Combat Armor, as well as a diplomatic representative.

((I would have expected such a young nation to have technology similar to mine I also thought such a young nation would not have the ability to construct 3km ships... well whatever and yes you most likely have me out gunned oh also I never get your message since I have no form of subspace communications))
The various emplacements on the ship blew up when the enemy weapons fire hit it sections of the ship were completely blown away as secondary explosions from the loaded missile banks tore holes in the ship.
The targeted ship now filled with holes activated emergency measures sealing off all breached sections with solid bulkheads and sending nanobots to repair the damage. Several sections of the ship were made of solid metal for situations like these and from these areas the nanobots transformed the metal into numerous copies of spiderlike creatures that then moved out and created wall seemingly constructed of brick, a weaker version of the normal construction methods. The nanobots began to repair any and all damage to the hull and was also able to rebuild some of the destroyed defensive countermeasures.
The rest of the fleet took immediate action, the largest of the ships, a 800m carrier launched several hundred parisite craft. Each of these craft could move at a fraction of the speed of light and also carried a significant number of weapons. The other ships of the fleet opened fire on the larger ship. They all launched MAC shells that glowed white with heat as they sped on towards the enemy ship. In addition to these shells were numerous enhanced thermonuclear missiles. These missiles contained multi megaton warheads amplified by a mysterious element that did not fit into any given group on the periodic table. As such it was classified as group IC. The element was found to amplify and energy one hundred-fold and found a wonderful use in weapons weapons. (naquadah from stargate) Thus the explosions themselves ranged in the gigaton ranges and were bound to put pressure on any defenses.
The ships also scattered hoping that any fire would have less of a chance of hitting. The majority of the ship went down where where were less weapon emplancements and used their multi-vector engines to the best of their ability.

OOC: Design and technology philosophy differences. We normally use a scale of 1 ship per million population as an average vessel, I work with like a ratio of one to every 7-10 million population, and play as hyperadvanced numerically inferior normally defensive fairly small empire. This isn't subspace comms, it's basic radio for the most part. Light speed comms are my first choice for first contact.

IC:

<They are not surrendering sir, and we are now outnumbered approximately 29 to one. You would think that near instantaneus crippling of another ship would at the least shock them.>

<Yes sir, but now we are embroiled in a battle that I do not believe we can totally win.>

<Continue to target their vessels. Concentrate on their motive sections. Cripple them as best you can. I do not desire to kill any more than necessary. Let us not destroy more than we truly need to.>

<Aye sir, point defense is engaging lead kinetic rounds, they are actually fairly powerful, as are their missile weapons. We cannot intercept them all.>

<Do the best you can, their offense is apparently greater than their defense, I am not certain that we can compensate entirely.>

The Andermani ship rotated along its axis, bringing its heavier upper armament to bear against the enemy ships attempting to dive underneath their arc of fire, and unleashing another barrage of particle beams at the engine sections of the madly dodging opponents, as a wave of missiles blasted out to meet the incoming parasites of the enemy Carrier. The first MAC shells shuddered home, crashing against the shields of the embattled destroyer, as point defense cannon picked the majority of the incoming missile wave out of space far short of their intended target.

OOC: On the topic of nation size and tech..I'm a tad bit larger than you two put together.. so if you don't mind, I'm going to take a stance of technological superiority. No offense meant.

IC:

Well this was unfair..

Steve metaphorically stamped his foot.

The smaller, less energy-efficient vessels were chattering back and forth in some squeaky language that Steve neither understood nor cared to translate without the proper running software. Furthermore, it appeared as if the larger warship had popped one of them like a grape, and was moving toward the next. The little ships were at a clear disadvantage. Technologically out gunned, Steve didn't see any chance of survival.

Then they surprised him, launching ballistic weaponry that he had calculated highly unlikely that they would possess in this stage of development. The explosions were spectacular..thought it seemed the larger vessel was well able to fend off most of them. Still. Steve considered the odds quite heavily stacked against the little vessels. Hell, he was ahead of schedule; besides hadn't he put in half a cycle of overtime last season?

Time to muck with the numbers.

Steve exponentially increased his velocity, now approaching the skirmish in the Andermani destroyer's rear left flank. The Traileric trade vessel doesn't appear to have any shielding whatsoever, or any armaments at all.

<Sir, incoming vessel off the aft port quarter. It's...big.>

<Maneuver evasively, it appears unarmed, probably all it can do is crush us with its bulk. Just keep us out of its way, and focus on the warships, just try to cripple them as much as possible.>

<Aye sir, this is not looking good. I have contacted home fleet, they have another destroyer en route, it will arrive within the next 15 minutes. Bane is in command.>

<Enbd this quickly. They won't survive long if he enters this, he's not rational...>

The ships were taking heavy damages as they were hit by the arcs of energy launched by the enemy ship. The admiral commanded all the remaining colony ships to scatter in random directions before heading home. The military ships, all five of them that still fought, would hold the enemy back. Soon blue flashes led everywhere from the battle as the military ships held off the enemy destroyer hoping that the nanobots would be able to repair the FTL drives on the damaged ships.

A new ship dropped out of hyperspace. Its size and construction belied its awesome destructive power - a curved ellipsoid roughly five hundred metres long, it floated along peacefully without any visible means of propulsion. However, a second later, a green beam lanced out from the forward 'point' of the ellipsoid to lock on to one of the Andermani ships. It was replaced by a thicker, yellow beam that lanced out towards the ship - so precise was the targeting that the hole's sides, if one could have seen them, would be reflective enough to see one's face in. The ellipsoid expanded into four equally-sized parts around a central prism, allowing the main plasma drive to engage.

[Bridge of the 'Ellipsoid' - KSFAS Sheldon]
Lieutenant Jackson reported that the target had dodged the attack, but trailed off to stare at something that had become obvious to all of the bridge crew. A huge vessel was approaching off the starboard bow. It didn't appear to have any running lights, but was definitely under power. The ship's computer brought up a basic diagram and tagged the vessel 'Unidentified Vessel Type Alpha Subtype Delta'.

The Captain ordered the helm to bring them in for a closer scan. The Sheldon ripped a hole in space, emerging less than half a second later above the unidentified ship. A swarm of science craft was launched to attempt landing and investigation.
---
OOC: The reason it took so little time to get to your spaceship is that you were so close. The Sheldon's wormhole generator drive can synchronise the wormhole to give a maximum speed of three thousand million kilometres per second, or 1000c (one thousand times the speed of light).

(still looking for an invader.... well time to add a second front... first front is still open but the only ships left are my disabled ships and whatever ships still fight)
[fluid time]
One month later
The previous system having been declared off limits when the surviving ships returned, another system was chosen for colonization. Soon a second fleet gathered at Deep Space 11. This second thirty ship fleet consisted of the survivors of the last expedition and new ships and crews to take the place of those lost and captured by the enemy.
The new ships now moved out of the way of Deep space 11 dropping off suppllies there needed for whatever ship might come there. They moved out at standard speed toward a distant star. Soon their engines quickly began to glow brightly as the FTL drive was initiated. Soon after All the ships dissapeared in a flash of light.
The ships had a three week journey ahead of them and not much was done in this time. Soon They emerged at the system relieved to find it uninhabited. Thus they entered a orbit around the planet and began colonization procedures. This process began with the deployment of nanobots to a resource rich region. Thus numerous canisters were ejected and landed on a suitable area located on the main continental mass. The nanobots began to take the local matierals and construct a city. The city appeared to rise magically from the surroundings and was constructed in a style reminiscent of the International Style of the 1900s on earth. Soon the first ship was able to land and disgorge its settlers who began to use the brought supplies to furnish the newly built city.
((note on my technology: everything is early FT as nanobots are technically underdevelopment (early stages), orbital elevators can be constructed with carbon nanotubes, a substance already discovered, railguns are possible, etc))

<Third vessel detected. It has opened fire. Shot has missed. No supporting weapons fire.>

<Ignore it, finish these vessels, salvage at least one of the fighting ships. Prepare boson gate to send across boarders. I want to know who these madmen are and why they would not respond to my directives.>

<Aye captain, preparing gate for activation. Wyverns ready on the staging deck, crippled vessel locked in. Gate is open, Wyverns crossing now.>

<Good, I want a live feed from the squad leaders helmet direct to my screen. Eliminate the last few vessels, and let us discern who they are, and if they are allies of those with whom we have battled in the past.>

The destroyer turned its guns against the 5 remaining ships, aiming carefully for their engine sections, and unleashing yet another torrent of destruction. With the reduction in enemy numbers, the number of hits they received slowly dwindled, until there were not enough enemy ships firing on them with kinetics or missiles for a single platform to make it through the wall of point defense boasted by an Imperial Destroyer. It was a good thing too, its shielding was long since tattered and ravaged by the repeated strikes of kinetic weapons and gigaton warheads. Had there been greater number of the other ships, it was possible their shields would have failed, and their armor would then have been called upon top bear the brunt of the enemy onslaught.

---

Crippled HuTianDi Ship, random corridor:

9 fully armed suits of Combat Armor stepped through the flat reflective surface of the gate, and began to move down the corridor. Their weapons were slung in a combat carry, pointed down and away. Each and every trooper carried a Flayer, the Setian particle shotgun that was the primary weapon of shipboard marines. The larger Maulers and Reapers were much too heavy for shipboard combat, and were as likely to kill allies as enemies.

<I am Kin'avar, squad leader of the Imperial Andermani Wyvern Brigades. For defying the orders of a lawfully appointed commander of an Imperial vessel in Andermani territory you have been disabled and boarded. Please surrender. The current amount of bloodshed has already been too much, we do not desire more.> The message was broadcast by the combat armor in the one human language they knew, English, while the quad leader backed it up with a telempathic repetition, hoping that the mind might hear where the ears did not.

Steve was rather excited now..things had certainly heated up. He now drifted a few hundred kilometers above the firefight, a silent observer. It appeared that quite a few plump little cultures stashed military vessels rather near to this system, as now a third inefficient little ship had popped in for some fun. Steve guessed this was some sort of pirate vessel capitalizing on the misfortune of the least advanced ships..

Steve couldn't help himself, he jotted down the exit vectors and jump residue of the fleeing HuTianDi ships for later analysis. Their drives were certainly loud enough to be traceable, but that was something he could have someone else do later. In the mean time, the last half a dozen embattled vessels were now locking with each other for the sake of close quarter combat. This piqued Steve's curiosity subroutines. He wanted to get closer, but he didn't want to attract unwanted stray fire. He took a quick look at the Legica registry..This was technically unclaimed space on international standards, but the response Legica was: (for some reason that didn't make any tactical sense to him) Legica VII Ferraverta. Steve trusted Ironclad could get here before anything got too out of control and, this decided, went into a slow nosedive toward the battle.

OOC: I'm not sure how you'd notice a portal that is inside an undamaged superstructure, or what mysterious gravitational force(not my gate) may have done that sucking. Long and short... THINK before you post, please. I've been aiming solely for engines, I'm not gonna emerge near the engine compartment just so I can evacuate myself into vaccuum by opening the wrong door. Thinking brain, not reacting brain. Not only that, there's a fuckton of crippled ships at this point.(I'm thinking at least 10, correct me if I'm wrong HTD), how can you detect a damn esoteric method of dimensional travel, and pick the right ship to ram? And where did the gravity pulse come from? My infantry walked through it, why is it sucking your fighter in? Followq a logic train in this please... It makes absolutely no sense to me. That said, I don't react to the impact until HTD reacts to it, since it's his ship that's trying to have a hole popped in it.

HTD: You still didn't notice the funny voices talking in your head?

The Sheldon's sensors simultaneously picked up the strikecraft spinning out of control and the movement of the behemoth next to them. The plasma drive immediately came online, propelling them away from the giant.

Suddenly, a smaller ship came out of hyperspace and fired a broadside of maser blasts at the unidentified giant. The smaller ship was definitely not unidentified, though - the Captain's display tagged it as the Virtuous, a stolen pirate ship that had been attacking civil and military transport throughout the last few months.

This can't be good, he thought.
---

He was very correct. It was indeed not good. So far the one vessel that had not attacked them was the only one they had nothing against. And now came the trump card. Reinforcements had been called for. Time had elapsed, and now Oblivion was at hand. The Dragon of Bane commanded one of the first Destroyers Escorts of the Andermani Fleet. Unlike the traditional role of a ship with its classification, it was one gargantuan misile battery, with minimal heavy energy armament. 50 missile tubes studded its long flanks, and as its sensors cycled back online, its batteries locked onto a pair of ships. The pirate vessel recieved the heaviest portion of the payload, 35 of the MIWS were targeted on it, enoug to evaporate a large portion of most planets in short order. Heavy Antimatter penetrators with enogh payload to convert a large portion of the defending ship into an expanding cloud of metallic gas and radiation. The remaining 15 missiles lashed out against the elipsoid vessel, scorching through t5he void to unleash their fury on the ship that had attempted, and so miserably failed at, engaging their first Destroyer.

I am the Dragon of Bane, 5th of the order. You have intruded upon the domain of the Anderman Empire, attempted to assault an Imperial vessel, and engaged a peacable traveler within our system for no reason. My judgement is final. Your are guilty of attempted murder, and are sentenced to summary execution. You have no chance to survive. Make your time.

((at the moment i could care less when i have this report to type up... but Andermani is right and that shouldn't happen... unfortunately I wasn't thinking... and ahh I have to finish my research))
In response to that requst....
The soldiers in the hallway, beginning to feel he effects of the lack of oxygen laid down their arms and motioned for the powered armors to proceed. Soon though, a clanking of metal could be heard as the nanobots assigned to repair started to create a wall to contain the leaks of atmosphere and thus prevent the decompression of the deck

The deck rippled for a moment, and the nearby fire that had been started by the impact was smothered by a dome of metal, before the deck once again smoothed itself back into its regular form. The nanites would not be able to repair the bulkhead in time. It wa a mathematical impossibility. Once again the deck rippled, and seemed to almost flow up the bulkhead, sealing the gap that had been made in the wall, a stopgap until a true repair could be made through the introduction of further raw material.

<Your structural integrity has been compromised. The wall is not fully repaired. I advise allowing my vessel to bring yours into orbit. Your failure to reply to our transmission is puzzling to us, as is your continued lack of verbal communication. We do not desire your destruction, and yet the disablement of your vessels was a necessity. We could not be sure of your intentions. We had hoped that destroying a single vessel would be enough to shock you into surrender. It appears our estimate was wrong.> The 9 combat suits racked their weapons, and adopted a more peacable posture, now that the immediate threat was past.

OOC: Is..uh..is that thing shooting at Steve? ..The unmanned trade barge that could fit most of the Andermani fleet in one of it's cargo holds? Because I really don't wanna come up with a reason to have a nearby military asset. .-.

P.S. And the comment about the other inefficient little ship was a reference to your epsiloid wtf craft that came from nowhere..My AI are a cocky lot.

(OOC: Andermani, sorry. The gravity pulse comes from the Virtuous leaving hyperspace. That's also where the reflections come from. Trailers, the Virtuous is launching maser blasts at you. You don't need a military asset, though - you could squash it or... um... something... I don't know...)
---
The Sheldon's crew watched the 'battle' between the Andermani ships and the Virtuous, enthralled. Luckily, the helmsman was a multi-tasking type, and noticed the incoming missiles. Unfortunately, he couldn't do anything about them. They slammed into the Sheldon.

The ship's AI replaced the main screen image with damage reports. The habitation sections had been damaged, with the semi-organic bioprocessors down. There would be no repair there.
---
(OOC: Basically, the Sheldon looks like a slightly lengthened watermelon that can split into four parts around a central beam. Also, it's grey.)

OOC: Worry?

IC:

Somewhere in his lower quadrants, an impact siren squawked for about six seconds, then quieted. In the meantime, Steve had not noticed the line of charred furrows the Virtuous had put in his paint job, nor did he care. Steve was now close enough to the exchange to be a serious gravitational pain in the ass, and he couldn't be happier. Nothing like a few zetabytes of ballistics trajectory data to mull over when you're hauling a few quintillion tons of vice and villainy half way across the galaxy.

OOC: to anyone reading thisnot already present in the battle taking place..... the second front is open and you can send ships to that newly founded colony
The ships lay drifiting in space with nanobots slowly repairing them. However, their power was mostly down and they had no idea of what was happening in the outside world other than that most of the allied ships left....

Subconsciously, Steve had fed the drive telemetry of the escaping HuTianDi vessels to a vassal-AI that called itself Mort. Mort was the communications specialist that lived in Steve's head, as well as analyzer of triangulate data. Mort gave a quick look at the emission signatures of the escaping vessels.

"Well", He binaried to himself, "they might as well have painted FIND ME on the side of their vessels..Ferraverta will want this."

Mort proceeded to package off the trajectorial data and punted it through hyperspace to the nearby Legica headquarters along with a friendly note that these folk were only capable of class II resistance..and that all heretics must die, etc etc.

17 minutes later aboard Hiveship Bastarnae of the Seventh Traileric Legion, Ferraverta (The Ironclad)

======================================================================

"Holy majesty? We've got a trader calling itself..uh.."Mort"..who just invoked the Prime Directive on us. But look at the bright side, it's better than another six cycles spent on the same route.." The Trailarii speaking appeared to be some sort of mid-shipman, and he was addressing the overly dressed superior officer, one Clyesthines, Holder of the Vessel as it was called in traileric culture.

"Hmgurph?" Replied Clyesthines, who had been busy working out legionary pay.

"Holy majesty? The prime directive? ..You weren't listening." The midshipman was a bit frumpled.

"Of course I was Dytheles-" Clyesthines began.

"I'm Adllus." Adllus interrupted, now clearly offended.

"Of COURSE I was Adllus, something about Mort and a director.." continued the Holder.

"..No. One of our autotraders has invoked the Prime Directive upon a lesser culture. It appears as if it spotted some rather underdeveloped mutants fleeing a losing battle in unclaimed waters, got a fix on their jump coordinates, and fed us the data. By law we must pursue and subdue.." Adllus appeared very weary.

"..Then what are you waiting for?! Marshall the troops! We've been stewing in our own juices for the past cycle. Why! Ferraverta won't be the backwater legion anymore! Ironclad conquerors! We-"

"My Lord, they're likely only capable of class two resistance." The aide interrupted again.

"Oh. Well..Gather the hivegroup, I don't want this to become a project.." ,a grunt, "gettin me all excited at my age.." The Holder continued to murmur to himself until the midshipman, seeing no further use to standing there, scurried off to collect the local hivegroup into a formation.

OOC: Serious now. :x

IC:

Six hours later, the majority of Legica VII, Militeria I-IX had gathered before the mighty hiveship Bastarnae and her sistership Samarkoi. One hundred and seventeen capital ships-of-the-line, in full engagement formation, turned to the systems star and as one engaged their mighty slipstream drives.
