Breaking News from Imperia and Ottonia,
We have the solemn duty of informing the world of the deaths of two beloved monarchs this month: the elderly Achaean Emperor Trajanicus Marius XVI and Ottonian Emperor Franz Hansberg III of Westfall.

Trajanicus was 81 when he died of a complication in heart surgery. He was also extemely worn out from fighting his whole life to keep the then-decaying Achaean Empire from fragmenting, and to restore it to a position of prominence once again. He was at least reasonably successful.

Hansberg was 49 when he died in a car accident. He was the third emperor to rule over Ottonia since it's unification years earlier. He was a benevolent emperor who will be sorely missed by his subjects.

This would not be of particular note were it not for the fact that the two deceased emperors had a common heir, 19-year-old Heinrich Hansberg II. He is being crowned emperor today, joining the two traditionally allied empires. A new nation will be entering the world stage: the Achae-Ottonian Empire.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Heinrich Hansberg began walking towards the Bishop of Imperia to be crowned Achaean Emperor, with Field Marshal Marcus Theodosius Regulus walking at his right, along with Field Marshal Honorius Varus on his left. He leaned to Regulus to whisper to him:
"Why do I have to wear this uncomfortable dress uniform?"
"Because you're a government official. And the emperor."
"You're wearing not wearing a dress uniform!"
"Everyone got over that a while ago, before you can remember. Besides, I'm still wearing a uniform."
"Honorius is wearing a dress uniform."
"Honorius likes his pomp and circumstance. Let me wear my field uniform. Your uncle learned to accept it, you probably should too."
"Fine," finished the young monarch, as they neared the Bishop. He kneeled down before for the crowning.
"Heinrich Carolus Hansberg II, do you take the crown of Achaea with the sincerest intent to rule justly, administer justice fairly, and to protect the people of Achaea without fear or favor?"
"Aye, sir."
The bishop took the blessed oil from off the altar next to him, and annointed the young emperor
"Then in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, you have been chosen to be the next to rule from the throne of Imperia. May you be blessed with wisdom and right judgement in all of your endevors," the Bishop placed the ancient crown, forged out of iron and silver from the mines of Aspathia and Achaea, on his head. "You may rise."
The emperor stood up, and heard the thunderous applause behind him, and he felt the trusted right-hand man of Regulus patting him on the back. Marcus was, after all, the closest he had left to a father. It was looking like a bright new future for the new nation and the new emperor.

OOC Note: I realized I hadn't really done things right when I first entered the forums, so I decided to start anew, with Achae-Ottonia's history reset.
