Again, chamber it for the 6.5 Grendel, and then you can up the velocity to 880-890.

With the 5.45mm, the velocity can be 850

Thanks, the Grey "clip" is a clip so you can hook the magazine to your belt or somewhere else it would be easy to access.

Interesting concept, but that's what magazine pouches are for. Having a number of magazines clipped to your belt would potentially rattle and expose the first rounds of ammunition to the elements. Provided that clip isn't overly large, so that you can still fit these magazines into your average magazine pouches, there won't be any problems.

Can the rifle make use of AK-74 type magazines or does it need to use the proprietary magazines with the belt-clip?

It can accept AK-74 and RPK-74 Magazines. The belt clip was really just designed for soldiers that don;t have magazine pouches or rebel forces etc.
