(Acing heart of the bold Open FT)
0900 Hours Space dock five New Sol, many ship yards dotted the orbits of various planets in the system, especially over the crowded space over New Earth. Ships idly shimmered over the perfect life plentiful world docking on to massive manmade structures, going about their business.
In one of the docks orbiting the fourth planet of the system which was a newly teraformed resource world, a ship was docked, its body was over 780 meters long its width was more than two hundred, it was a new generation of ship designed and taken from a line of development that was taken from the United Federation of planets period of the TF’s history. It was new and radical it did not employ heavy or large guns, rather extremely powerful arrays and torpedo tubes.
The ship was the second of its class, the first of the pelagic class was already on her shakedown cruise however still undergoing heavy modifications. The ship being prepared to launch was dubbed the TFS-Enterprise – F. On the bridge of the ship, stood a man, he was young only about 25 years of age, just fresh out of the academy at 19, his name was Jellico Adams. His uniform was blue and black, patches on both shoulders and various decorations on his chest, his rank of captain his black collar.
His blue eyes panned the empty lonely space, he looked forward with a gentle sigh, Jellico had lost his other half to another man, and all he had now was his career, he felt like a lone ship in a sea of stars, his emotions slowly dying because of the loneliness his heart was filled with.
He looked over to his chair and wandered idly towards it He didn’t smile, he couldn’t, after all that has happened and the deceit surrounding his personal life it had killed any happiness he had with in him, He sat down on the chair leaning back on it placing his hands on the armrests. He struggled somewhat to keep his personal affections from affecting his professional life.
He started to speak in a gentle depressed voice.
“Status report helm” The helm officer was connected in to her console like all the other crew, the captain refused to use the interface due to his emotional turmoil he would have had to place an emotional inhibitor or take an emotional suppressant to keep from distracting his crew. He refused to do so on the grounds that he needed time to heal his wounds.
The helm officer looked back she smiled a bit saying “Sir Space dock says we are green to depart”
Jellico didn’t even try to smile he just raised his hand up and moved it down singling for the docking clamps to be released and the ship to move forward.
The midsized vessel began to move out, its Dark energy engines starting to accelerate the ominous looking ship at quick speeds forward. The ship lurched as it rumbled out in to space. As Jellico looked around wondering if they were still in one piece the AI popped up with a soft female voice it said. “Hello and good day, Federation command has issued new orders for this ship, whenever you are ready to execute please Notify your helms office.”
“Thank you” Jellico said in a rather depressive voice again his hands folding on his lap. He looked to his helms officer and said again with a sigh.
“Engage Multi dimensional drive.”
The ship began rumbling, its body shimmered as it burst forth quickly moving in to a gaping crackling multi dimensional vortex, the ship shook and time slowed down inside of the lightly blue lit ornately decorated pleasing bridge . Jellico raised his hand, waves of distorted light making its outline drag along the air, he started to speak in a slow voice, saying.
“Helllmmm………. Reppoorttt…..”
The helms officer looked over outlines of her head moving as she swiveled.
“Unnnnknownn, we appearr to bbbee cuaghttt in aaa…. Temporalll…. Distortionnn… becuuusee of a diimesionaall jetty.”
The ship suddenly stopped it was literally thrown spinning around and around in to a space of blue crackling energy, the ship came to a gentle stop stabilizing in orbit in an odd position over a desolate planet.
Jellico’s heart sank severally in to a sea of worry, he was cursing himself in his head, why me, god! Why me!.
He looked over to the helms officer, as the lights dimmed and went off line, emergency power cut on lighting only the floor panels and lower walls. He started to speak in a hard yet still depressive voice.
“Report?””
The helms officer began to tap on her console, her link was offline, she replied with a frustrated voice.
“Sir position unknown, time unknown sensors are offline, the dark energy core is offline, we are running on auxiliary fusion , weapons shields are offline, we’re defenseless, weaponless, powerless and we’re blind, until we get repairs ready.”
Jellico mumbled sitting back in his chair, the ship was still turning around, and they had to resort to tying themselves in with physical belts because gravity belts were offline. Jellico said waving his hand gently. “Ok repair teams and AI teams begin work on getting everything online.
Emotional problems still plagued the captain that made the leadership situation somewhat jaded, his heart was sinking and acing as the situation looked more and more grave with every report that flooded in, downed systems dead personnel, decks without gravity and life support
Now it was waiting pure waiting time, it was hoped nothing was in this dimension or universe.
