Feel free to criticize my design... if you can't tell its based off the Skjold MTB... This is still a work in progress, which is represent in that this is a prototype. If you don't catch it below, the Navy is looking for support from foreign nations in arming the boats.

Luun_ (盾) class patrol boat

The Luun_ class patrol boat is a high speed, shallow draft, stealthy, air cushion catamaran. Currently the first prototype is undergoing testing by the Navy of Mon Kye En. This ship utilizes a low weight, high strength composite glass and carbon fiber construction. The shape of the ship is designed to minimizes the radar, IR, and acoustic signature and RAM and other materials are used to also help minimizes this.

The Navy of Mon Kye En currently is undergoing a search and evaluation of missiles technology to replace the current Mistral and Exocet missiles scheduled to arm the vessel. Also under consideration are heavier gun armaments of over 120mm.

Length:
about 50 metres
Beam:
about 13.5 metres
Draft:
about 1 metre
Displacement:
about 275 tons (full load)
Engines:
2 gas turbines: 6000 kW
2 axillary engines: 275 kW
2 lift fan engines: 735 kW
2 maneuvering engines: 370 kW
Generator:
228 kW
Propulsion:
2 x Water Jets
Range:
800 nm at 45 knots
Complement:
16 men
Armament:
84mm CLTA Rapid Fire Multi Purpose Gun (see below)
SSM's (when available, currently represented by 3300kg of sand)
SAM's (when available, currently represented by 250kg of sand)
12.82mm Machine gun
Speed:
In rough sea: 45 knots
In calm sea: 60 knots
Expected Cost: $140 Million

84mm CLTA L/56 Single Rapid Fire Mount
Round: The 84mm CLTA (Case-Less Telescoped Ammunition) is a round similar in size to the familiar 76mm round of the Otobreda but taking advantage of the size saving benefits of CLTA. This allows the round to carry approximately a 30% increase in payload with out an increase in size or decrease in rate of fire, velocity, ammo capacity, or range.
Weight: about 8.5 tons (including ammunition and off mount components)
Elevation: -15 to +85 degrees
Train Rate: 60 degrees/second
Train: Unlimited
Magazine: 128 revolving magazine, 6 round hoist, 6 round revolving drum, total of 140 rounds; This is considered sufficient for almost any engagements. More ammunition can be stowed but would have to be manually loaded into the 128 round magazine.
Crew: The turret is total automated but has provisions for local control. The turret is unmanned but requires a two or three man crew to reload the magazine (if needed).
Max Rate of Fire: 164
Sustained Rate of Fire: 80
Effective Range: 9km for surface ships, 4km for aircraft/missile [guided SABOT rounds under development show promise of effective 6km range], Max range 23km
