It has been ten long years since the Commendant and his allies were defeated, bringing forth a new age of liberty within Evoinia. However... Some feel that their former hero, Maximillian Renault, has become corrupted with power. He is the de facto ruler of the entire nation of Evoinia as well as the family's ancestral province of Kritian. He has, in the past four years, centralized more and more power underneath himself... and now has even broken with Socialist tradition and given ceremonial titles to his friends and allies... not even mentioning the Plutarchy of International Relations he has setup, with all Ambassadors, save a few, being a member of his family.... But it call comes down to this:

Vice-Commisar Maximillian A. Renault: The Increasingly dictatorial, de-facto leader of Evoinia, who has many plans for the entire region. He sees himself as the rightful leader of Evoinia as he was granted the position after the fall of his father. He has denied Jonas Spyridon re-entry into Evoinia simply because of the fortune the man has made outside of the nation, which goes against the Socialist principles of the nation. He also sees no problems with his rule, only taking what is due to him.

Jonas Spyridon: The Former Leader of the Opposition, prior to the First Socialist Revolution in Evoinia. He was exiled by Maximillian's father, who intigated much of the First Proletarian Revolution. Jonas held hope to be allowed to return to the country after the Second Proletarian Revolution which got rid of the Autocrats (Maximillian's Father and allies) but Maximillian has ignored any calls for his return. Jonas has recently allied with the Evoinian Soviet and disident members of the Council of Commisars (angered by Maximillian's slow accumulation of titles and power) to take him down.

I am personally in the field with my comrades in order to ensure effective action against the oppressive regime that has grown like a vicious cancer on the fine nation of Evoinia. The Evoinian people are calling out for freedom and equality - freedom from the tyranny of the newly established false nobility and the oppression of a facist pig with an unsavoury lust for power.

By direct order of the founder of the PAU Maximillian A. Renault is hereby immediately stripped of his role as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Ambassador. The United Nations delegation status is further hereby granted to the only legitimate governing force in Evoinia of Jonas Spyridon. The PAU does not recognize the illegal and oppressive regime currently occupying one of its member nations and implores all foreign influences to support the regional security of Evoinia and its neighbors: Roseariea, Costa del Apollo, and the other member states of the Progressive Allied Union.

There will hereby be an immediate recruitment campaign for the Roseariean Socialist Army and all support will be pledged to Jonas Spyridon. He and his supports will be welcomed within Roseariean borders and a dedicated UN Delegation site is already under construction.

Renault; your time is through. Your regime will fall and your memory will be but a footnote in the glorious history of the PAU.

The Dourian Embassy is the UN ambassador for a few other nations, it's all one military under a single dictator though. Don't ever call him a dictator though, he hates that.

Geography: I'll be brief, since it won't be happening in my nation, but enough to let you know how my states are laid out. Christom and Kharjackistan split the Christom Peninsula pretty evenly. Kharjackistan spans the entire southern border of Christom. Christom is on the coastal side of things, and is by far more populated. Douria is an enclave inside Christom, more specifically a city. More in the history section.

History: the Dourian Empire is a byproduct of a revolution. Originally Christom was the dominate state, with Douria as the largest city in the region. Christom and Douria are extremely militaristic states. The current Kharjacki war, hearkens back to when Christom went to war with Kharjackistan 120 years ago. Archduke Ferguson of Christom went to Kharjackistan for a diplomatic mission, and had his car stolen along the way. He gave up, and declared war.

More recently, Trey Dreizehn was a leading general in the Kharjacki campaigns, until Douria, finally fed up with the Monarchy of Christom, declared itself sovereign. Trey Dreizehn returned to Douria and led the war effort to take over the country. He won(there are details, but you don't need them here), and declared it a Confederacy of States, claiming Douria, Christom and a portion of Kharjackistan as sovereign members. 10 years later, he gave up on democracy and declared it an empire.

We're extremely focused on military buildup. We're post-modern tech, we have orbital weapons, but I'll bar their use here unless someone else uses them against our side. As a matter of fact, I'll bar all of my post-modern technology save my infantry's guns(which are just standard weapons but made of stronger, lighter materials).

I'll be sending over 25,000 infantry. Outside of their weapons, they have standard modern equipment. Each soldier has a trench spike/pistol combination sidearm(It's called "The Fury" but most soliders just call it an FU).

They carry AK/47 style assault weapons, with a 10 inch bayonet attachment(The Valkyrie) Both guns are laser sighted, all soldiers have the best body armor and helmets. We'll be defending Evoinian's Capital, if we're given permission to land.

They come with enough helicopters to airlift 5,000 soldiers at a time, as well as enough personnel carriers to carry 10,000 soldiers at once.

All of my forces are trained from birth to be soldiers. They are trained in hand to hand combat(Zui Quan and Krav Maga), sharpshooting(most are good at it, but more than a few are very good at it), quick draw, and accuracy with their pistols. Each soldier is pretty well equipped on ammo as well, the guns can use standard ammo, so it's not to hard to acquire more.

I won't leave Evoinian's Capital though, so they'll only come into play if things go badly for Mr Renault. Worst comes to worst, I'll evac him.

Douria City, Douria: Reports are coming in from Evoinian of a Civil War between Maximillian Renault and Jonas Spyridon. Trey Dreizehn has expressed his solidarity with Renault. Reports show a large buildup of troops in Atraps. The foreign ministry has denied these troops are for such a purpose, and has once again canceled our access to their offices.

OOC: I may join sooner or later but Dourian your best sticking to just one nation. Having mulutiple nations and using them yourself is considered puppet wanking and is frowned upon by most of the general rpers here.

OOC: Supporting Jonas Spyridon

I'd be sending about 50,000 Infantry.

Troops: They'll be armed with Vektor CR 21 assault rifles (with 10 inch bayonets) http://world.guns.ru/assault/as26-e.htm , P220 pistols, and some RPG-7s. They also have Kevlar Weave/Ceramic body armor, and German style helmets. They'll be arriving via merchant ship, and have enough trucks to permit rapid movement. They can be placed wherever the Spyridon faction needs them.

Commander: My troops are under the command of Maj. General General Allan Hamsher; who led Lamonian forces to victory during the allied effort to push Starblaydia out of the territory of The Lowland Clans.

Geography: While Lamonian territory won't be affected in this war; a short statement. Western Lamoni (including the large island of Lemnos on our west coast) consists of massive evergreen forests. Eastern Lamoni is a desert, but it receives more rainfall (on average) than most deserts. This half of the Free Republic is prone to lightning sparked wildfires during the dry summer months. Lamoni also has three mountain ranges.

Short History: The Free Republic was created in the Pacific regions, and moved to B5Tech. After the fall of that region, Lamoni moved to Atlantian Oceania. We've been there since.

The old war of words in Evoinia between Vice-Commisar Maximillian A. Renault, and Jonas Spyridon is now coming to blows. Jonas Spyridon has taken control of the Evoinian countryside; and it is rumored that the government of the Free Republic has sent a message to Spyridon, commiting troops to his cause should they be needed.

From my understanding, Evoinia has some members of the Wawa (ShogunKhan's religion) within his borders and they were not able to prevent this civil war in time. Although we agree that friends should engage in such a grand duel, we are dismayed that:
A} no protection is guaranteed to the non-combatants, the refugees who wish to leave the area, the dispossessed who may have lost their homes.

B} the two opponents are not acting as friends engaging in a proper duel to the death but rather acting as enemies to each other.

One of our friends has chosen a side, and another friend has chosen the other side. We wish them good luck in the glorious battle! May your fallen soldiers both enjoy drinks as friends when they reach the Honored Halls of the Brave!

We propose to send an expeditionary force to escort the refugees out of the battle zone and to offer medical assistance to any victim that requests for it. We need the permission of both sides to do this. We see your nation as a family who happens to be our friend. Your family is pitting brother against brother, that is why we want both sides to offer their permission.

Once granted, we will do the mission as we stated and will gloriously defend our charges if either side attacks us. This will be a challenge that many of our young warriors will be eager to join in. It will further hone our skills of stealth, of escorting, of combat medicine, etc for those who survive the civil war. For those who don't survive, they will enjoy the drinks with the honored friends that they gloriously killed or were killed by!!!

We will also insert covertly some Wasts (Warriors of Stealth, similar to ninjas from the "real world" storybooks). Their job is to analyze strategies and tactics that work and report back. They are our elite forces and we proudly announce to our friend of their inclusion so that they can have the extra challenge of trying to avoid detection. They won't be with the rest of our forces (its part of their initiation rites, they must survive alone without regular support).

So let us know if this is satisfactory for both sides. If yes, then may we all have the best skills at our disposal for this challenge!

OOC--> I see no problems with Douria having control of more than one "entity", I'm sure he'll roleplay the personality(ies) in a realistic fashion. It isn't any worse than having someone use a nation that has been signed up for a few years playing with other nations who only have been in the game/forum a month or two. Unless everyone wants to create new nations for every time a new roleplaying forum starts up, we assume that all participants are mature enough to be realistic in the storytelling.

I'm just disappointed that the other invitees have not shown their faces here yet. Maybe their motives are less on storytelling and more on conquering?

Hmm, unlike those fools rushing blindly forward so fast they will trip over their own weapons, Meadonia will be dispatching several small, yet highly trained Rapid Response Teams to..."pacify" troubled areas. Naturally these soldiers will be using stealth and intelligence; brains, rather than brawn. I remind fellow generals rushing to the scene to stay loyal to the current ruler of Evoinia, Vice-Commisar Maximillian A. Renault, and to lend him their full support.

Roseariea will be contributing an initial compliment of 10000 ground troops. All these men will be equipped with a semiautomatic pistol, kevlar body armour, helmet w/ infrared and night vision capability plus communicator, Roseariean inhal/exhalation systems and environmental filters along with full wireless satellite uplink systems thanks to Roseariea's advanced IT sector.

5000 of these ground men will additionally be equipped with FAMAS (http://world.guns.ru/assault/as21-e.htm) assault rifles and psychotropic grenades.

The remaining 5000 will be equipped additionally with Roseariean psychotropic distribution cannons allowing for a disbursement of opiates and/or very strong Roseariean LSD powder over the area of about a half city block.

We are also sending contractors and medical professionals to build hospitals in occupied territory for all Spyridon's allies.

my colony in the region is supporting one of the sides... I mentioned it in the regional forum, and i can't seem to remember right now who?!? too much studying.... not enough sleep... forums are a break between study sessions or writing papers...

So the home country is playing a protection/escort/combat medic force for the refugees and any fallen/wounded soldier.

The local colony of that region is taking sides and sending special forces to rescue prisoners of war who are being tortured.

home country and the colony are not shy in fighting against each other if circumstances permit (warrior society that sees battle as a contest and death in battle as the highest achievement)

"Hello and Welcome to another addition of Evoinian National Broadcasting International (ENBI). I'm David Malan, at our lead desk in Roseariea.

To our top story... War has broken out between The Progressive Allied Union and Kritian, as Kritiac Forces have been paradropped at the Evoinia-Roseariea Border. We're currently unsure of the exact number of troops, but we're sure our boys in the PAU United Army can defeat the evil menace of Autocrat Renault. Troops began to fall from the skies at about 03:00 this morning at the area of Ixim Pass, soon after simmilar occurances were reported from other border areas."

There is a sudden pause. The Report looks off screen. "What?! My Lord..."

He turns back, pale. "B-breaking news from Costa dell Apollo, there has been a nuclear strike upon the Capital! The Factory District has been flattened... Casualties are expected to rise into the thousands. Wait... there have been two strikes! One on the Capital and a second at the major defencive position near the Evoinian-Costaian Border."

David Malan pauses again. "This is a dark day in Evoinian History, a dark day for the world... Hmm? Somethings interfering with our signal!"
Sudden static is heard all over PAU... as every television station goes dead for a moment, replaced by a single image of a man.

"Hello citizens of the Progressive Allied Union. I am Maximillian A. Renault, Leader of Kritian and Evoinia. As you likely have heard by now there have been multiple nuclear strikes on Costa del Apollo. I warned your Leaders that this would occur if they did not end their support of Jonas Spyridon and their foolish interference in our nation. As they have ignored my warnings, this has occured and will again if they do not immedately disarm themselves and hand over Mr. Spyridon. If they do not do this within the next twenty-four hours, we will be forced to come get him ourselves at which point we will have to strike where we see fit. I would ask for those people, loyal to their nation, to rise up against the Capitalist Opressors in your lands! Stand up now! Save your peoples before your leaders send you along with them to Damnation.

Praise be to you all, long live Kritiac Evoinia."

"I knew this was going to happen," Trey said softly.

"If you knew, why didn't you stop it?" his Minister of War asked.

"I thought that giving them support would lessen the likelihood of this happening," Trey replied.

"All we did was give him the protection he needed," His minister was shifting uncomfortably in his chair, he wasn't used to telling Trey he was wrong.

"I know, but it's time for atonement," Trey picked up his phone and hit the number 3.

"General Masterson, I've got a change of plans,"

"Yes sir," Came the reply from the other end.

"I can't explain why over this line. It's time for plan B, start operation Saduj," The general heard a click on the other end. He looked up from his desk. He sighed and hit his formal address button.

"Plan B everyone, Lets take the capital,"

OOC: Oh, and for anyone wondering, if we actually manage to capture Renault(big if), he won't survive the first 10 seconds.

Suddenly at the border of Roseariea...

Jonas Spyridon stood, along side his army. He could see the oncomming forces.

He called out to them. "Brothers of the Fatherland! Turn on your officers and lay down your arms! Freedom is comming!"

Jonas turned to one of his generals, who eyed him with worry.
"Peace now, this is going to work."

He called out again. "Did you hear me? I say Freedom is comming! They will not be able to harm you anymore nor your families! Freedom for Evoinia!"

His troops yelled. "Freedom for Evoinia!"

The enemy forces drew nearer, but Spyridon stood firm.
"Brothers of The Fatherland, for what are you marching? For your deaths and for suffering?! Save yourselves and save the Fatherland! Join us and let us renew the Socialist Society which makes us great!"

Moments later they could hear gunfire amongst the enemy lines.
Soon up from the rank and file of the enemy, a cheer went up. "Freedom for Evoinia!"

Spyridon smiled, as the proud Evoinians carried the bodies of their dead, former Kritan officers. He looked at them. "Bury them with dignity, then join us. If any of ye who live are Kritian, you will be treated fairly and sent to Roseariea for trial."

So then, three Kritans stepped forth, were disarmed and sent back to Roseariea.

Spyridon then gather together his troops and reformed them into battle lines.
"Well I could only hope ever battle would be this easy. But it shall not be so. In any case, we fight now as one! We fight for Evoinia!"

Several of the Evoinian Citizens, which were loyal to Spyridon, had been watching the comm. channels of Douria.

When they heard the command for 'Plan B', they assumed it was a reaction to the nuclear strike.

The small group of citizen's who had an active resistance in the Captial sent word to the Dourian Forces, on a small note which said:
"We are with you, Dourian Saviors.
- The Resistance."

Meanwhile in Kritian...

Maximillian A. Renault, sat in his bunker, chuckling at recent events.
"And now! It's time to pick the next target... Hmm, I wonder who has the least air defences..."

He then smiled. "Those foolish Dourians will never figure out what they're really guarding, our bait and switch worked perfectly. All their doing is acting as nannys for my Resistance-sympathetic brother Cidrian and maybe even... Ooo, the deliciousness of a well made plan."

Greeting Brother, we are here to ask for your acceptance of our lord Kash within your nation and people, so our belifes may spread across this globe.

President Juan Pablo spoke today saying "The nuclear bombing of Costa Del Apollo was a terrible thing as of this moment i am dispatching all troops near the Evoinian soil to march to the capitol if they want war they got it. 2 nuclear missiles called the LGM-118A PeaceKeeper will be sent to kritian land one Missle holds 5 warheads Kritian will soon fall!

A non-descript building had just been assaulted. On the outside it looked like a typical commercial office building. What was inside would have made any special forces soldier cringe. This was one of Renault's torture centers for the political prisoners that he had captured from Spyridon supporters.

The security forces had been taken completely unawares, probably because they were locally hired security. The interrogators managed to escape, maybe they knew that ShaKhaF (ShogunKhan's colony in that region) Wasts would be there shortly for the rescue. This would explain why the local security forces were arriving on cue to arrest everyone there and attempting to pin the blame upon ShaKhaF.

See this torture factory, was not located within Evoinia but rather Renault had located some of his torture factories covertly in other unrelated nations, including in some nations who were openly opposed to Renault. ShaKhaf Wasts are ready to canonize Renault as a brilliant strategic saint and they look forward in defeating his Machiavellian plans. The sheer nerve of hiding one's political prisoners covertly inside other nations who are not even involved in this entire civil war.

Naturally, the Wasts not only had to operate covertly against Renault's security but they also had to get the prisoners out of this unrelated country. There was no proof linking Renault to this torture factory and Wasts had uncovered fabricated evidence to attempt to link the torture factories to ShaKhaf. Had the unrelated nation's security forces caught ShaKhaf with the rescued prisoners, they would be hard pressed to believe that this was a rescue attempt on their soil without permission and ShaKhaf would have a new opponent to deal with. Luckily, the rescue was successful and the prisoners are being cared for in an undisclosed location under ShogunKhan's supervision.

If you recall, ShogunKhan had previously mentioned its neutrality as battlefield medics and refugee escorts. While ShaKhaf has made its position anti-Renault because Spyridon had provided information of Renault's torture factories and ShaKhaf wanted to send rescue teams. Well one torture factory is gone, including any incriminating evidence (Renault had left fabricated evidence linking ShaKhaf to these heinous activities and ShaKhaF had to destroy these documents before this unrelated country acquired this fabrication)

Meanwhile in Kritian...

Maximillian A. Renault, sat in his bunker, chuckling at recent events.
"And now! It's time to pick the next target... Hmm, I wonder who has the least air defences..."

He then smiled. "Those foolish Dourians will never figure out what they're really guarding, our bait and switch worked perfectly. All their doing is acting as nannys for my Resistance-sympathetic brother Cidrian and maybe even... Ooo, the deliciousness of a well made plan."

As ShogunKhan's direct representative in these parts, we must officially protest your use of nuclear device in this minor misunderstanding. We have lost some of our battlefield medics who were in the process of healing the wounds of your own loyal soldiers who had been attacked by Spyridon forces. Your indiscriminate use of this technological device has caused harm upon our soldiers that we sent flying a flag of neutrality and upon your own soldiers.

Our neutrality, has been guaranteed because Douria is an ally as well as some of the nations supporting Spyridon. We are beginning to question this logic, and our reports are that you are about to betray Douria, your ally. You are showing the signs of senility and insane behavior patterns. Please do not proceed with this because we can not stand the fact that our lowly colony ShaKhaF has been right about you and that we were being too cautious out of fear. You must fight properly, we are counting on you to do this, otherwise there may be a civil war in our country because we backed an insane leader. Do not do this to us, we implore you. Our religion abhors fear, so we must convince our very well armed population that our battle strategies have not been based on fear. Stop your madness.

OOC--> ShogunKhan is trying to psychologically place Renault in a sense of euphoric stature that he is in control of everything. (this psychological manipulation is so that Renault will overestimate things much more and believe that he is untouchable) this will cause the immediate leadership surrounding Renault to become nervous at their leader's incoherence.... and well.... we can see where this might lead.

ShaKhaf had gotten information as to the location of several prison thingies and I decided to place them in completely unrelated nations... portraying Renault as a brilliant Machiavellian mind with plots, counterplots and subplots all running in his head... playing on the assumption that these first rescues are part of Renault's plans, but eventually, some of these rescues may actually be a genuine strike on Renault.... I just don't know how you plan on playing him...

"The active members of Milnet Tucker Institute insist that we must find a good opportunity to test our self-designed family of armored fighting vehicles", explained Winslow Dobbs, while he glanced at the bustling docks and harbors around Hampshire Haven coast from the safety of Tienda del Coche Cooperative Corporation meeting room at the eighth floor of the building.

"Wars are always happening, but one wrong movement and you might mess with a beehive, and you know they sting, and sting pretty hard", explained José Martez, trying to dissuade him.

"Yes, that's why I thought very well on how this proposal would fare and which country it would focus on. I found a nation called Evoinia, which has fallen under the corruption of a petty dictator named Renault, but a man called Jonas Spyridon is trying to overthrow him in the name of socialism and freedom", insisted Winslow

"This will get us in the spotlight for a while, and it could be risky, we could have losses at our army too, are you sure you want to propose military action to the people?", said Martez, worried about what was to come.

"If our army cannot stand a single war, we should just scrap it and become a bunch of peaceniks. I just sent the proposal to the EDDNet, now it's up to the people", explained Winslow.

"I hope Winslow, that this won't be the greatest mistake in our nation history, I really hope it.", noted Martez as he sat down with a scowl at his face.

1 day later...

In a tight victory, 55% of the population voted for the approval of the military support to Spyridon, and thus measures were prepared just immediately.

A few hours later...

At Hampshire Haven harbor a part of the fleet was docked as soldiers and armored fighting vehicles were loaded into a myriad of transport ships, mixed with 40 DP-221 Hampshire Class destroyers, 30 FFS-9 Tucker Class frigates, 50 CLP-37 Madrid Class cruisers and 5 Oso Class carriers holding 150 units of recently purchased F-35 Lightning II multi-role fighters, besides about 40 Tiburón Class nuclear submarines.

"Comrade Menez? How is it going?", asked a soldier as he stopped on the way to greet his friend.

"I am fine, thanks. Now this loading is going quite well, I would say, some claim it's a bit exaggerated, but you never know what kind of air support or naval force could be found there, plus those mobile anti-air AFVs are still on experimental stage, better have some fighters to give air cover instead should it be needed. Now what about your son Miguel?"

"He is doing well Menez. I assured him I'll come back and I am coming back alive on this one, specially because I know tactics enough to participate into the planning, and I know how to avoid losses to the maximum possible."

"What if you don't come back? Have you ever thought about it?"

"Menez, did you know my grandfather died during the food riots fighting with an old Luger pistol bought from a collector against all types of scum? My father told me histories about those dark times when I was younger, and I told them to my son, we must be strong. To deserve living in an almost perfect place which seeks to achieve utopian dreams one must not fall to weaknesses. Should I not come back, give this to my son, I trust you will" (hands him a closed letter)

"I will buddy, now lets go before they start going away, or we'll miss it. I am eager to fight for this cause, and the more we waste time, more people die and are oppressed in Evoinia, we should go now Miguel"

"Sure Menez, no need to tell me that".

And they left for the harbor.

"He's not there," his commander said.

"Kritiac?" General Masterson asked.

"Yup, which means we can't get to him, and we don't have enough forces to take the city by force," The commander thumbed through some papers, "This may pique your interest though," He handed the General the letter from the Evonian resistance.

"Alright, use ShogunKhan as a go between, let Spyridon know we're on his side now, but we can't tip our hand yet," The general leaned back in his chair, "In the mean time, I want to see a few explosions, solider barracks and weapon caches should be a good start," The general sat up and leaned forward,"And if he has any nukes left here, destroy them,"

"And the resistance sir?"

"We haven't been able to find them the entire time we've been here, they'll find us or we won't meet at all,"

"What about Kritiac?"

"Well Trey'll probably lend use of nuclear weapons if we have to, but that's a last resort. Honestly there isn't anything we can do right now. We can't look like we're fighting them. We leave it to the invading nations. We have to stay quiet and hope,"

"Hope?" The commander said softly, "We tried that already didn't we?"

General Teloris Gueverra, PAU Founder, is seen in front of the Roseariean flag, broadcasting from an unknown location, but the surroundings seem to indicate they are somewhere in Roseariea's massively sprawling agricultural sector...

"The attacks on Costa del Apollo stand as an unprovoked dual nuclear strike against an innocent nation and one which is the longest standing and closest ally of Roseariea. This attack will not go without response, we have lost too many of our people for that.

Mere hours ago the joint military force of Roseariea and Costa del Apollo launched a retaliatory strike against Kritian from low orbit using Roseariean satellite weapons technology and Costa del Apollo's vast defencive weaponry reserves. Three large scale nuclear strikes have been launched against Kritian with targets including the western region where our intel shows evidence of weapons storage, one in the centre of the city of Renauburg where our intel has pointed out further storage and one in the capital city of Kritias.

Additionally, we have mobilized 100 million men who will be dispatched as early as today should the situation warrant it.

Kritian must fall and they must be prevented from lashing out at another innocent nation. All participants are urged to support the legitimate Spyridon government and assist the PAU in vanquishing Renault and Kritian."

Renault listened to the diplomats from ShogunKhan.
He merely smiled. "This was a preemptive strike."

He then handed them a series of communications. "These are from the PAU Generals in charge of the missions here. They were planning a massive assult for weeks. We were forced to strike first."

Renault then turned away. "Besides, I don't think you have any reason or authority to be questioning my methods."

He turned back, with a glint in his eye. "You haven't seen anything yet."

He then walked over to his communicator. "Mobilize the air forces... Send them to the Evoinian Countryside. Begin the Scorched Earth Campaign, leave them nothing."

... Several Hours Later in Evoinia.

Jonas and his armed forces were moving towards the country village of Salosburg. "M-my god." Spyridon stood, shocked, "I see flames."

He turned back to his army. "Someone radio ShogunKhan! Send messages to all allied forces. We've got an atrocity on our hands."

Spyridon and his team couldn't even enter the city, the flames were just too hot... They found afew survivors, all heavily burned. In the meantime, they attempted to devise a plan to put out the Napalm-induced flames.

Spyridon couldn't believe what Renault had done to his own people... It was sickening. He spoke to one of the civilians briefly, he had been a minor government offical. He said Renault had decided to burn most of the nearby villages so that they couldn't get supplies.

Jonas looked at the man, filled with pity and rage. "I swear to you, we will get him. I swear it."

Meanwhile...

A resistance fighter, named Melos, walked into the Dourian Compound.
"We hear you want to meet with us." said Melos to one of the officers.
"We're willing to give you all we've got. Spyridon is on his way... We've just got reports of Napalm strikes on Evoinian Villages within their armies path. Renault has killed our people, he must fall."

The diplomat looking at the combat in the region in question and receiving live reports from different sources, straightened up and said, "Send Spyridon this message, ShogunKhan now stands with you, we have lost 80% of our forces that were within the attack vector but the 20% who have survived have managed to save hundreds of refugees, it is unfortunate that we were not able to save any more. We were deploying a technology that protects against attacks of the Napalm variety because we were warned by some of Renault's advisers who are loyal to our Wasts that these attacks may come. Our technology had not reached all of our forces when the attacks happened. We will share this technology with you and your forces. We are also importing radioactive protection technologies to protect against radiological attacks. End transmission."

"Send this to the Emperor, By your authority I have committed your Empire to side with Spyridon, you have a limited timeframe to play with Renault's arrogance and insanity. If I have overstepped my bounds, I will be happy to resign and assign the next in command to glorious position of Strategic Leader. We require the Emperor to allow us some limited control on our weaponized military satellites to shoot down nuclear missiles. Our attack submarines are successfully tracking 82% of Renault's nuclear ballistic submarines, as for the other 18%, we shall use our official fleet to look for them if you send the fleet over. We will not engage the enemy until the Emperor has made an official announcement. End transmission."

"Send this to the Colonial Ruler of ShaKhaF, It is unfortunate that we will not be able to fight each other on the field of battle, it would have been glorious to see which our forces had outfought the other. On the diplomatic scene, I respectfully accede that you have won against us and have made us look foolish, I applaud your skill. When this is over, we shall celebrate together, until then we are requesting that we work together against Renault. Our mission has changed and I will take command of any of your forces you send under my jurisdiction. Our junior officers will work out the details. End transmission."

The diplomat took a pause, went into a specifically designed studio, changed his uniform into a more dirty and torn one. Took a good whif of pepper and had make-up applied to make himself look like hell. "Are we rolling? ok only send from the cue word.... ready? 3, 2, 1, ....(in a desperate voice): Renault! What the hell are you doing? You barely missed us with your last attack!?! (tears rolling down the leader's face).... We are here to help you.... Please reconsider your attacks and let us know when you will target. We need your leadership and guidance.... (back to normal voice) and we'll cut it there. Make it look like I'm speaking in a room that is shaking from tremors, time index it to the time of one of the attacks and don't forget to use the camera filters that make it look like its coming from a battle zone. When you are done pass it to our usual contact and he'll run it to Renault as the latest message from us. Is he still in bunker B? Ok, send it over." The diplomat left the studio and went back into his situation room cleaning himself off, "any new developments?"

The 50,000 Lamonian infantry had been on their transports, and headed for Evoinia for a week. News reached them en route of the nuclear attacks on Evoinian soil, which disgusted all of them. Not even former Lady Protector Viannor Starblayde of Starblaydia had been THIS crazy.

At the same time, a radio message had been sent to the Spyridon faction:

My 50,000 infantry and supplies are within a day's sailing of your nation. We need to know where we can safely offload our troops to help you stop this maniac that would use nuclear weapons on his own people. Be assured that you have the Free Republic's unconditional support.

300 miles of distance from Third Spanish States

In a small but comfy dormitory of a transport ship, while using a laptop computer, Menez talked with his friend Miguel about the latest events as their fleet moved through the Atlantic.

"Have you heard the news? Renault has slaughtered his own people and used nuclear weapons!"

"Menez! Do you know what that means? That means that without proper NBC equipment this will be suicide! Did someone remember to haul enough NBC suits in one of the cargo ships just in case?"

"Fortunately yes, but I really hope it won't be necessary to use them, still this give me shivers, we could lose everything here including our own lives if a tactical nuke bypassed our anti-air defenses, multi-role fighters and nuclear submarines."

"You are not the only one frightened here. Someone proposed that we retreat back to the Confederacy, and we have the legitimate right to do it."

"Was his proposal approved?"

"No, but after that ship crossed our path he took a ride back to Third Spanish States because he was just totally scared"

"I'm surprised others didn't follow him", Miguel replied to Menez

"I believe it's a question of ego. Going back home as a hero is much more glorious and proud than fleeing from the battlefield."

"Hey! Why are we stopping?", asked Miguel as the ship seemed to slow down.

"Planning and awaiting for more strategic information, as there is no details on where it would be best to land at Evoinia yet. Turn your laptop and your brains on because we will be busy browsing Milnet today"

Miguel opened and turned on his computer as he continued to speak:

"Menez, does this Renault know that Third Spanish States doesn't have nuclear weapons?"

"From everything that was gathered, he doesn't"

"Well, hopefully our nuclear submarines might work as deterrent against nuclear attacks then, if we managed to bluff them"

"Good thinking, let's mention it in the local planning message boards"

And another day passed.

OOC Note: Third Spanish States has no official statement on whether the development and production of nuclear weapons exist or not.

Jonas smiled when he saw the medics and other aids from Shogun arrive about the fallen city of Salosburg "Good timing, we've done what we can... but resources with us are fairly limited."

He sighed. "I knew that damn Renault was crazy... He did murder his own father in the second war. But this! It's just inhuman... God help us all if he gets the rest of his nuclear arsenal readied."

...

Renault meanwhile sat, smug, hearing the report from the Shogunite, but made no responce.
He then picked up his phone. "My son, did you track the messages from The ShogunKhanites?"

"Yes father." said Casimir. "I told you not to trust them, I'll be personally taking care of all of their men. They won't be prepared for it."

"Fine, then I want you to lead Delta Section to Evoinia. I want Spyridon dead, and I know you can do it. Kill anyone who stands in your way."

"Yes... father."

...

Spyridon then wrote a joint letter to the forces of Lamoni and Third Spanish States...

"Hello to our friends in Lamoni and The Third Spanish States...
The area in which I'd like both of your naval forces to engage is the Port City of Namarack, The Main Port held by Renault. It is located with in the Bay of Descron, which is the largest coastal area not under the control of my allies. Attack the city, bring about the surrender of the military there and free my people.

With all respect and gratitude,
- Jonas Spyridon."

...

"Tomorrow... We shall have it ready sir." said one of Renault's advisors.

"Good.." Renault replied. "Then we can activate stage II of my plans."

Somewhere in the inner confines of ShaKhaF.... two cloaked figures are using their vocal speech disrupters (white noise generators) to prevent eavesdroppers and covering their mouthes to not have anyone lipread, but then again they are both in the shadows in a cave complex.

First figure, "So Casimir will lead the assault and we are to let him carry it out?"

Second figure, "That's the plan, then we give Casimir the coordinates to ShogunKhan's true hideout for their military headquarters. Those two victories will leave his father's guard down to celebrate with his son minus the bodyguards."

First figure, "Then our protege kills his own father and brings both sides back together? Good plan, what if he betrays us and has only used us for our information gathering?"

Second figure, "You forget, we always have 7 backup plans, one of them being that Casimir's lover is under hypnotic manchurian candidate control."

First figure, "and do we warn ShogunKhan of their headquarters being compromise?"

Second figure, "of course not, we want Casimir and his forces to have a fighting chance if they even manage to surprise our friends. We must not let our friends down by making the sport too easy for them."

Both figures left the area and went on their separate ways....

After receiving the letter from Spyridon, the Lamonian task force headed to the port town of Namarack. As they didn't have any real intelligence on the city, it was decided that four squads of five men each would be infiltrated into the area by AH-5 Condor helicopter overnight. Since the joint letter also mentioned that they would be hitting the area with their allies from The Third Spanish States, it had been agreed to send a message to them as well, in order to come up with a joint strategy.

Assuming that you received the same letter from Jonas Spyridon that we have, it seems that we share an objective in the Evoinian port city of of Namarack. If you would agree, I would like to take some of my staff with me and meet you at a place of your choosing to discuss our joint strategy for the attack.

General Masterson yelled over the din of gunfire, "Keep it up! A little longer and we'll have 'em," Staying in the shadows was hard. He'd met up with the resistance leaders earlier and made a firm decision. They would combine to take the Evonian capital before daybreak. His forces moved like they were linked, all 25,000 of them knew where they needed to be, what to do, and how to do it. They were firing now on the huge guard force covering the government ministries and buildings.

"General," Came a resistance courier, "Our forces have concentrated on the far side of these buildings, we're meeting pretty fierce resistance over there.

"You know what's at stake, don't you? We have to do this now. You're not in the shadows anymore, and neither are we. We either take this city, or die trying," The general pointed at the courier, "Tell them that, and if they don't understand, show them."

As he spoke his own forces slowed their fire, then halted it. The Evonian forces held up their hands to surrender.

"Not today," He said loudly, and his forces fired at the unarmed Evonian soldiers.

Soon it was quiet again.

"Soldiers! Advance!" His troops worked their way down from rooftops, out of alleys, and out of buildings and towards the Government buildings. The courier looked in awe, and started back the way he had came.

The Spanish States fleet was 600 miles from Namarack, all air defenses were active and nuclear submarines were at full alert

An encrypted message arrived to the Lamoni Fleet commander

"Colonel General Hamsher.

We have set up a temporary account at our Milnet for you to peruse coupled with a temporary encryption key, which will allow you to view and discuss our current plan in the "Mission Planning" electronic board. Apologies for the inconvenient password, but our networks contain some sensitive information that could put this operation at a serious disadvantage if they were infiltrated by an enemy hacker.

While that message was sent, Miguel watched the waves with a small ornated urn at his hands, filled with ashes inside. He spoke to himself:

"I will accomplish what my grandfather had as his poetic last will. His remains will spread and join the infinity of the sea while a land is freed from tyranny.", and dropped the ashes into the ocean, from where they dissipated and vanished.

He then met his friend Menez, who smiled "Miguel! Your grandfather would be proud of you now"

"Not yet Menez, I have to finish the last part of his will by making sure the plan will work. He wanted to have his ashes poured on the ocean while a land was freed from tyranny, and he shall have it."

"Yes, this plan will work accordingly, all we need is the approval of Lamoni commander. I hope he can understand why our infantry should not land into the middle of they fray, but rather as sneaky as possible nearby to flank the enemy while they are busy with a Lamonian frontal assault and quick take over a part of the city. Hopefully sending some HT120-C to them and most of our fleet to give naval and air support will convince them to take the more dangerous way while our forces sneak through the city."

"I think they will find it reasonable, considering our forces, except for the HT120-C, aren't trained or designed for attrition warfare as much as they are for guerrilla warfare and ambush tactics."

"We'll have to see that, he will probably log in soon to comment on the plan, also I hope those geeks will managed to disrupt enemy communications once we land on shore, and if they can cheat them with false orders it would be even better"

Renault smiled, it was a nice morning inside his bunker.
"Begin Operation Switchblade. Activate the Sarissan Cells. Confirm Targets."

One of his aides nodded and began to send out extremely encrpyted command codes.

He then smiled. "Have the Air Force engage the oncomming naval strike. I want to burn the very seas!"

Meanwhile...

The Resistance were bombing various government compounds and had freed Cidrian from the Kritiac 'Prision' Palace which he had been placed in.
They were pleased to see the stand taking by the Dourians, most pleased indeed.

300 miles from Namarack, Menez was explaining his point in a teleconference:

"They won't wait for us to reach the harbor and this is coming dangerously close, we must have all our air force ready to take off, should an air strike come."

"But what if nothing comes? It will bring useless maintenance costs!"

"There is no place for being a scrooge in this situation. One slip and we could lose all our fleet before even touching land. I will launch this order now, and as this is not a normal situation, those who are interested will have only 1 minute to vote, counting from now. But beware! Think well about your choice, because the loss of a whole fleet and of whole platoons is much larger compared with the extra cost of having readied fighters."

1 minute later, after some short heated discussions, the results came and fortunately most approved the preparation of the fighters for immediate take-off against a potential enemy air strike.

OOC: an OOC thread for this roleplay would be very useful.

Back in ShogunKhan's capital, in the campaign for Evoinia room with all the huge maps and dozens of monitors and live reports coming in stood the Emperor's Sword, a title given to the wisest strategist who would command all the forces for the Emperor while the Emperor was busy elsewhere.

When he spoke, it was in hushed tones, he never needed to shout, anything he said was immediately followed without hesitation. "We now have our satellites deployed to intercept all nuclear missiles targeting our nation and we have lent some satellites to our colony's control to protect the most likely targets. We have our covert killer satellites ready to open fire on enemy vehicles who may target our nuclear missile intercepting satellites. We have most of the enemy's nuclear submarines shadowed with our attack submarines. We have undetected viruses in their missile silos which will increase the flight time of their nuclear missiles so that even our allies can respond and prevent those missiles from reaching any target. We are sending in a fleet in the area to assist in a more conventional way and to find the other enemy nuclear submarines. We are sending an airforce division and an army division in that theater to assist in more conventional ways and to attempt to intercept any bombers who have nuclear missiles. Radio the allied fleets who are en route and give them the coordinates of the likely areas of the enemy nuclear submarines that are not shadowed, let us hope that the espionage department has accurate information. Within hours we will have neutralized all the strategic weapons capabilities of the enemy, well unless the enemy sends the package in covertly instead of a missile. Radio the Wast commander of that sector and inform him that our psyche profile indicates that the enemy is 78% likely to try out that route when he discovers that his military assets have been compromised. Nothing to do now but to see how the conventional battles will be fought."

OOC-->this is just a way to prevent "nuclear" destruction on countries who do not wish to receive nuclear damages (if some don't mind receiving this kind of casualty, I guess you can always write it in and assume that Renault sent it, launched it, sneaked it in or whatever)... Oh and assume that the proper permissions to use allied airspace and landing/berthing rights have already been done with the logistics officers of both side.... unless a nation denies it?

To reiterate, my country has covert espionage/sabotage forces active, orbital platforms for defensive use active, special operation assault forces active, combat medics and escort forces active, attack submarines targeting enemy nuclear missile submarine active....

I am sending in a standard air carrier group with the main mission of finding the other nuclear missile submarines. I am sending in an air force division with the main mission of intercepting nuclear missile bombers. I am sending in an army division to secure borders and to protect allied supply and repair assets.

I am not sending in a standard marines expeditionary force, nor am I sending in other assault type missions. (there are enough allies to fulfill that function)...

CG Hamsher logged onto the TSS Milnet via satellite, and reviewed the plan. It called for his troops to make a risky frontal assault on the city as a distraction while TSS forces hit the enemy from behind. While he thought that this would be a good idea (if bloody), he had some questions for his 'allies.'

Therefore, he sent the following message over the Milnet:

To: TSS Commander

The operation is approved from my end. However, I do have a few questions, such as what a HT120-C is? Also how much support are you willing to give to the operation?

His question was briefly answered by one of the soldiers logged on the Milnet:

The HT120-C Cáscara Land Fortress is a Heavy Assault Main Battle Tank designed for both defense and for breaking through enemy defensive lines. It is equipped with a caliber 60 120mm cannon which uses electrothermal-chemical technology and which advanced turret system allows it to be used for limited indirect fire as well by inclining up to 45 degrees, it has a 7.62mm machinegun coaxial with the main tank gun, and above it lies ZM145 14.5mm heavy machinegun remotely operated weapon system which also has a coaxial 7.62mm machinegun with it and can fire at a completely opposite direction from the one the tank gun is firing. Plus at each of the 4 corners of the main turret there is a MTI multipurpose 50mm grenade launcher equipped with both HE and smoke grenades and finally, behind the main turret there is a barrel-based MTI GEIFM guided indirect fire missile launcher. It has a powerful biodiesel engine, under normal circumstances, operates at 2,000 hp, which is below its maximum capacity, allowing it to reach speeds somewhat above those of a M1 Abrams. It is heavily armored with non explosive reactive armor at the front to stand significant barrages of fire from machineguns and autocannons and even a APFDS round fired from its own cannon hitting its armor perpendicularly, while its whole top is protected by a less dense reactive armor which gives it protection against some artillery shells, and finally it uses the Iron Fist hard kill and Shtora soft kill active protection systems which can stop or deflect anti-tank rockets and missiles. It has its weaknesses though. First it's very maintenance intensive requiring a permanent mechanic in the crew, and second, its lateral and rear are lightly armored to reduce some of its weight and focus on frontal protection so its flanks and rear must be protected at all costs.

In the Personal Annex of the same building...
A woman stood outside Room 158, it was Mrs. Metternich.
She took something off her back. "The Sword would be too obvious."

Metternich then placed the sword back in her room, she checked the holsters of her Beretta and Drug Pistol and pulled out a communicator.
"Casimir, first target has been neutralized. Just afew more comrades to go..."

She then walked down the hall to the adjoining Main Room and opened fire, knocking out several highly armed guards without any trouble or sign of reaction.
The delegates were shocked. Some attempted to run, but were shot dead.
Some of the delegates in the room were able to dodge her roving scope and plotted on how to survive.

"You people make me sick, you and your foolish leader Spyridon!" Metternich yelled. "I've had to endure years of this idiocy, years of your weak Socialism, years of my drunk husband and his adultry! I was going to quit Kritiac Special Forces but he cheated on me one too many times... So I signed back up in the program and now..." She spotted the Leader of the Official Opposition. "your all going to pay." She fired again, killing the man.

"Don't even hope for rescue... I've been tampering with the buildings systems for days, they'll never know until it's too late!"

Suddenly, three of the formerly hidden delegates rushed at her. Each of whom she quickly disposed of snapping their necks.
"Ha! Weak Evoinians... My sisters are in place all across the region, assassinating officials and bringing Chaos unto your allies!"

OOC--> she wasn't one of the Wawi trained, they would be less vindictive although the efficiency is applauded.

OOC: Unless I hear an objection, I'm going to assume my and the resistance forces have temporary if not permanent control of the Evonian Capital as of my last post. We really do need an OOC for this thread, that said, time to think up a new character for this particular thing. I did edit the text that was copied a bit, adding the flavor of a second perspective. IC: Eric Burns wasn't really interested in the socialists. Douria was involved in this to save lives, and here these idiots blathered on about ideals. Oh well, they'd get to the point eventually. He checked the gun at his hip. No one else carried one, but he'd insisted. He was already taking chances by coming here. Douria could easily stand up to anything Kritiac or Evonia could throw at them, but this was supposed to get done with what they already had on the ground. If the events back in Evonia's Capital were already resolved, Renault probably knew on which side they stood. Still, why tip your hand when you don't have to.

He did wonder a bit at how lax security was for this room. They relied on automation for far to much. He could pull out his gun right now and down every guard and everyone else before they made it to the door. He didn't plan on it, but the fact that he could made him a bit uneasy. I have sent 10 five man squads into the oparea (via NH90 NFH helicopter) in order to obtain information about enemy forces. They are dressed as civilians, but are members of the Elite Lamonian Berserker unit. If attacked, they will fight to last man, and not surrender. I would suggest that we schedule the attack for at least 12 hours from this point in order to give my scouts the time needed to bring us useful intelligence on enemy positions. I will share anything that they uncover with you.

Your supporting forces would be a welcome addition to this frontal assault on the city, and I will commit one fifth of my forces (10,000 troops) to the initial wave. If the ships carrying your support for this operation would meet with my ships, then we can co-ordinate our assault into the city. We are currently holding 100 miles from the objective.

As stated, the tasking of my scouts is to gather intel on the position of Renault's forces in the area in and around Namarack. They will be carrying P220 handguns, but they will be concealed. They will also wear civilian clothing. Feel free to kill them if you manage to find them.

IC--> "As agreed, here is the information from the sector you asked us to survey. May we all fight brave and well!" And he left as he came without drawing attention to himself or to the scout. This happened in a busy marketplace with people wary of strangers, but no one paid any attention to these strangers because the scouts and the Wast seemed like they had always belonged here.

After the 'gift' of the information in the sector that they were interested in, this particular group of scouts (led by Sergeant Major Thomson) headed back into the crowd, and casually transmitted the information over their encrypted satellite UHF single sideband radio. With the transmission done, the scouts headed to a different part of the city, watchful for anyone that might be trailing them.

Aboard ship, the information was analyzed thoroughly by intelligence agents from both the Lamonian Intelligence Agency (LIA), and the Lamonian Military Intelligence Agency (LMIA). They would still use the scouts to see if the information was reliable, but they wouldn't just discard it out of hand, either. It was just Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

The LIA agents were also interested in placing agents inside both factions, but that was something that takes time to accomplish.

OOC: Time to present my "Intelligence Agency", OOC information about the networks Renault uses(encryption level, whether connected to the Internet or not) and mainly about the default operational system used by the military will help to determine the chances of these "spies". I cannot give more details about the success or failure of those geeks before having enough information.

105 miles from Namarack, a few miles away from Lamonian fleet.

Jack Mullins brown eyes stared at the official Evonian government website from his laptop, while a multitude of titles like "Stealth MultiProxy", "Xmap Port Scanner", "/usr/bin/MullinsExploit.bin", "IP and MAC Spoofer" among others shared the space of its user interface, most of them which were programmed by himself. After 2 minutes the results of his scannings in search of loopholes came.

While that happened, Miguel, Menez and others were at the bow of their ships observing the Lamonian fleet that was afar in the horizon.

"They sent many more people than us", noticed Menez

"Yes Menez, but there are more important things than just numbers for the success of a military, do you remember the history of Battle of Thermopilas?Because for each Greek soldier there were about 28 Persians. And I don't need to remind you which side had most losses and lost the battle? Or about the Spartans that fought till death, but killed much more enemy soldiers than their numbers?"

"Yes, but in that battle, the Greeks were defending while the Persians were attacking, like what we are to do, so that is not so assuring as you think Miguel"

"Wrong! You know there is a difference. The difference is that we are going to envelop their flanks first, and with the information our allies have we will use terrain to our best advantage as well"

"Yes, now look, we are approaching them. Remember that after following their fleet until 60 miles from the coast, we will split our fleet and then you'll have to choice which strike force you will join: the ambush party or the main strike one"

"Which will you join Menez?"

"I don't have a family, and I'm not afraid to die. I'll be coming to support the Lamonians with the main strike force. But Miguel, don't do it if you want to have higher chances of coming back alive, you should join the ambush force instead."

"I... feel we are wrong of putting them into the fray while we go through the 'easy' route."

"Don't sweat it. A part of our forces is going to help them too, and that's not what we are best for. They on the other hand probably have much more experience with conventional warfare."

"I hope as little as possible of both us and Lamonians will die here."

"That's what we are here for. The faster we envelop them, the better".

And they continued talking about many things and watching the horizon, while a message reached Lamonian command

We request the information you gathered about the enemy forces. Plus, we would like to have more details about the lands surrounding Namarack, city layout, and if your special forces managed it too, the location both physical and virtual in the form of IP adresses of their military computer networks and information about their software, specially Operational system, firewall and other similar technologies."

Attached to this message, you will find all the intelligence that my scouts have been able to obtain, as promised. My attack will begin momentarily, and my scouts are now all ten miles away from the city. If found by your forces, use of the password Unicorn will tell them that they are in friendly hands. Be warned that if they are attacked, they'll fight to the last man, and not surrender. I will be launching my attack after you have reviewed the intelligence information, and we've laid out the first targets.
