President Kilo Warns: Do Not Support Them!

OOC: Note... this is basically a challenge/threat by ViZion and those who support Greal in his civil war. We're looking for nations of all sizes to support the Red Skull, the group who's trying to over throw Greal's government. Please join if you will! The RP thread is here: RP thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=544079)
IC:
In response to the recent request for aid by the Red Skull (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=544149), President Tanner Kilo has decided to make his stance public on the Civil War in Greal (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=544079). A speech was presented to the press.

In Press Room 16 at the Capital Building, President Kilo stood at the massive oak podium, stained so dark that is almost could be mistaken for black. Behind him, a massive ViZionarian flag covered the wall behind him. Hundreds of members of the press sat, waiting for President Kilo, who had two bright lights shining upon him, to speak.

To all nations, we have been keeping an eye on the growing situation in Greal. Imperialists looking for more land and those supporting a very deadly group called the Red Skull are coming together to attempt to take control of their government and land.

We cannot stand by and allow this to happen. As such, we are preparing to send 500,000 troops to Greal immediately, and an additional one and a half million troops to be prepared and send to Greal over the next three weeks if required.

We demand that those whom dare decide to act upon their imperialistic urges to take land from this weakened country, or aid this devistating and illegal Red Skull coup, stand down. No not act upon your urges, but rather step aside - your country will only get hurt, devistated possibly, should you enter against the true, official, and legal government and sovereign land of Greal.

We thank you ahead of time for acknowledging and accepting this warning.

Thank you,

President Tanner Kilo

Official Statement:

Today at roughly 1300 hours, an aerial attack was launched on our flotilla of Hospital ships and their escorts. These action were unprovoked, and inhumane in the harshest sense of the word. The Hospital ship had just begun caring for the wounded of members of the conflict. The Hospital ships were marked in accordance with international law. The actions undertaken by the Government of Greal are unacceptable, unlawful, and unjustifiable. The aerial attack is an obvious break in international law, and must be met with the harshest of all possible penalties. We will publish more information as it becomes available.

REP OF JEUNA

REP OF VIZION

Dear Mr. President,

In reply to your recent assertion of ViZionian support for Grealian royalist forces, we must only conclude that you wish to further destroy your perilously bad image in the eyes of Jeuna, her allies, and even a large number of her enemies. It is a wonder that each successive ViZionian administration has achieved only epic lulz at the expense of the country and the citizens belonging to it that it rules over.

Perhaps it has not occurred to you, but a Greal at war—especially with itself— can only be good for the sensible folk who wish to eliminate its clearly ill-conceived nationhood. Perhaps in some hundred years or so, the Grealians will be ready for self-government, but at this point in time it is better to let the proles destroy their ability to fight off the enlightened rule of a more responsible and enlightened nation. Perhaps, given the plague of silliness on the part of ViZionian governments, this is not your country, but it is most certainly and decidedly not any "government" that the Grealians can field.

Sincerely,

Official Statement from the United States Department of State

We believe that it is beyond irresponsible for Comrade... eh, Mr. Bian Pingrui to be talking of a nation like ViZion in this form. Jeuna has barely entered nationhood, it's population is only about one billion – and yet it goes out and talks of people that could squash them with one finger as if they were their inferiors.

Listen up, morons: You don't get to decide what is good for the world on behalf of all nations of the world. That's just not your fucking job.

Now, unlike the slimebags infesting Jeuna, we in Allanea actually put our money where our mouth is. As such, we will immediately deliver a package of International Aid, out of the Department of Commerce's Foreign Aid Package [FAP] to our friends in ViZion.

This aid will be summarized as follows:

50 billion dollars of cash
50 billion rounds of ammunition in the standard calibers deployed by ViZion's military.
5,000 Nakil 1A1 tanks.

Further, ten billion dollars will be immediately sent to the Grealian Royalist forces.

Should you continue annoying us in this fashion, we will actually send more money, until Mr. Pingrui shuts the fuck up, or the Royalists win. As far as we are concerned, both are noble goals.

Sincerely yours,
The Allaneans

Last year, the state of Greal attacked our friends and allies unprovoked. Although at the time, I was not in state for war due to the Ying War, I have come today, and found that not only has the vicious dictatorship of greal destroyed a hospital peacefully healing civilians was attacked by a Grealian Air raid, I have come to stand, and declare war on the state of Greal, and wish by all means, to make something of a Offensive/Defensive Pact with all that also support me. Thank you and good Day, Linyo Ying.

REP OF JEUNA

President Scalding
[address]
REP OF ALLANEA

Dear Mr. President,

I earlier today received a letter (attached) that was strangely addressed from, apparently, your citizens as a hive mind. Since I found this to be impossible to reply to in a satisfactory and economically efficient manner, and believe that it was in fact the Allanean presidency speaking on behalf of the people of Allanea, I am sending my reply to your office.

I feel that I must, first and foremost, correct an assumption made in the opening lines of the message. The idea that Jeuna is "new" is patently incorrect. While my country is not as old as China Proper (whichever dynasty one uses to establish the beginning of the Middle Kingdom), it is, I believe, significantly older than Allanea itself, holding two centuries of existence over the establishment of the aforementioned. I also see, unfortunately, that you follow the rest of the herd of politicians who have fixed in their policies the concept that a large (or, alternatively, larger) population is a sure guarantee for success, and that anything but is utterly laughable. There is a saying in Jeuna, which I find most appropriate at this time, which runs "the serpent may bring down the horse". Perhaps that does not translate well across the gulf of time and culture, but the general sense is maintained, I should think.

With that out of the way, I feel I must disagree with the description of my government's responsibilities. Being representative of a modern, patient, intellectual society with the demonstratable ability to govern its constituents in a rational, professional manner, without resorting to sectarian violence, I and my colleagues feel it only proper to extend the reach of civilization to those cultures which might not have a well-developed society. The government of Greal has, time and again, shown that it is unfit for rule, with the latest manifestation of violence an uprising of communists, of all things—who originally were the government's private army of henchmen, formed out of another violent changing of the guard from one secret police agency to another. A little under three months ago, there was an uprising in one of Greal's provinces, which resulted in the deployment of several front-sized elements to an area not much larger than Slovakia. Approximately two months ago, there was a medical emergency in Greal when one of their army captains drove his armored company through a crowd of demonstrators (who were also, it should be noted, wildly violent and possessing little in the way of even halfway decent quality of mental health), which it then responded to by doubling its army and stationing, effectively, sixteen fronts in one city. Less than a month ago, Greal was wracked by a series of terrorist bombings, which I have reason to believe we not carried out by foreigners as the Grealian government claims, but by Grealian nationals. Add on top of that the government of Greal's decision to station a carrier battle group off the coast of an offending nation, rather than conducting calm diplomatic talks, and you begin to see why I and my government which I represent feel that Greal is not yet ready for statehood. This, quite frankly, does not sound like a government or a society that is very receptive to the idea of peace.

Not to put a too fine point on it, but neither I nor my GMQBJ operators have ever heard of a truly democratic or sane group in Greal at all, which says quite a bit.

On a somewhat different note, as my colleague Bian noted and advocated, the Jeunese government is perfectly fine with sitting this one out and letting, as he aptly put it, the "proles" figure it out on their own, before we make any sort of decision.

In closing, I am quite happy to keep sending you letters, as they cost little more than three yin to send along. Of course, given that, I wonder how sane the gentlemen in your Budget Committee are to be sending $60 billion USD in reply, with even more invested in military hardware.

Sincerely,

Official Response from the Allanean President

First of all, my dear friend (or should I say “comrade”?), Allanea is not at all receptive to the idea of peace. If anything, we are vehemently opposed to the very concept of world peace. This opposition has been the key point of my administration's foreign policy.

It is the long custom of Allanean public service that, unless a message is drafted by an elected official or a Congressionally-approved, but rather an indirectly-appointed one, it is normally signed 'the Allaneans' rather then 'President Scalding' or 'Secretary Smith', or whatever the case may be. Such indirect appointees are not important enough to sign their own name on public releases.

Sixty billion dollars is a paltry sum of our nation, and we will happily spend ten times that to support our friends in ViZion. I hope they kill a whole shitload of Red Skull operatives with the ammo we sent them, and then mount their skulls upon the tanks we sent them, as is the custom of the Allaneans.

Frankly we don't care much about Greal, but would like to reiterate: ViZion is awesome and we continue to support them.

Yours,
President Scalding.

Open Letter

To Whom it may concern;

This conflict between two rival factions in the nation of Grale, has come to the attention of the Grand Galactic Royal Interstellar Federated Sovereign Parliamentary Democratic Imperium of Siev, Kash, and Avalon, an ancient and developed civilization. Having reviewed the situation, the Imperium has come to several conclusions.

First of all, while this civil conflict is not our concern, we are forced to note that a number of previous events within the nation of Grael -- terrorist attacks, increasing abuses of power by the reigning government, and a near-constant state of military alertness (a situation in turn leading to economic stagnation and dissatisfaction among the public) -- have presaged this most unfortunate war. The fact that the very agency now leading the attempts to overthrow the Grelalian government was once created by it to enforce its increasingly tyrannical rule indicates that this civil war was an almost inevitable conclusion. We can only hope that in the aftermath, the victorious faction will see sense and adjust its policies to prevent such a regrettable event from occurring again.

Second, we note the exchange between the Jeunaian and Allonian governments. That Alanaea is so willing to support the government of Grela without adequate intelligence such as has been cited above, or in more detail by Mr. Rna Riunu of Jenua, is yet another sign of the flaws exhibited by the Allnanean government. Those flaws are remarkably similar to those exhibited by the former government of Geral: a complete disdain for diplomacy and peaceful negotiation, compounded with a constant state of military alertness. Indeed, it seems that Allanoa only manages to retain the support of its citizens by means of overly liberal social laws that serve as a tacit permission for citizens freely to use mind-altering substances and engage in acts of sexual and moral depravity, greatly akin to the world depicted in Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, but all the more frightening because it is real.

In addition, we note that while the Annalean government directs numerous accusations and insults towards Junea and claims to be a great and established nation, it is Alalea that comes out worse in the public image from this exchange. In comparison to the use of exceedingly undiplomatic language and lack of proper format in the Ollaenian missive, the Jaunease representatives come off as civilised and reasoned, although Mr. Bani's message especially is on its own not particularly appropriate. We also question the wisdom of publicly announcing financial and military transactions in public messages. Surely this is information that, if found by the enemies of Anallea, could only put her at a disadvantage?

Third and finally, we question the wisdom of the VozIzine government. History has not told in VaZoom's favour when it enters a conflict; its own civil war some years back resulted in the occupation and annexation of its homeland by foreign powers, so one would think that its leadership would have learned and done its best to avoid inflicting such a fate upon other nations. Yet here is VeZion once more, involving itself in a civil conflict that might well be better resolved without foreign intervention. ViZuin's President Graham urges all other nations to step aside from landing troops on Grellian soil, yet in the same breath he announces his intention to do just that. Surely anyone with half a brain will be able to see that VoZoin's true intention is to take Grallian land for itself, simply by claiming itself as a liberator and kicking out all foreign powers, then taking over the government "until stability is restored"? The Imperium has, sadly, seen this situation many, many times before.

In conclusion: We suggest that all parties withdraw from this conflict and allow it to be resolved domestically. For those who truly desire new land and resources, simply wait until a new and necessarily much weaker government has been established on Gralalean soil; then enter into a partnership agreement with that government and use some of the profits from its resources to help rebuild the state.

Signed,
Sir Roger de Kook
Special Envoy from His Interstellar Majesty, By the Grace of God, John II Leyden, High King of Siev, Emperor of Kash, Sovereign of Avalon, President of the Galactic Parliament, Marshal of the Royal Sievian Ground Army, Admiral of the Royal Sievian Star Navy, Admiral of the Royal Sievian Surface Navy, Who sits upon the Ruby Throne, Holder of the Iron Goblet, Wearer of the Leydene Crown, Pope of the Interstellar Church of God, Slayer of the Warp Dragon, and Bearer of the Thrice-Blessed Thrice-Cursed Oaken Staff of Plato

Civil unrest is an internal matter for the nation involved. It is inappropriate and only exacerbates the situation and prolongs the suffering of the citizens of said nation when other nations attempt to interfere.

External interference in an internal civil matter is a sure sign that a nation feels it has something to gain by exploiting the situation. The Free Republic condemns any nation that interferes in another nations internal matters.

Only weak nations seek to exploit such situations.

We will also point out that this is the single most ignorant thing we have ever seen a national leader utter:
