Sorry for the delay, had to go away for a few days for interviews. Also, Bioshock and Asian Dynasties.

So, here is the OOC thread for A Police State? (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=13249449)

Olm, I was planning something like this (to have the government stage terrorist attacks, though with no casualties, for the FSD to bravely foil them). Coincidence, eh? That's fine, though, I have no problems with it. Yep, same time frame as war. Speaking of the war, I'll post soon, really.

Something bothering me, though, if the government wanted to crack down on anti-government sentiment, wouldn't it make more sense to bomb a pro-government protest then pass it off as the work of anti-government terrorists? Do you mean that the attack on anti-government demonstrators would be a way to stop the protests supposedly for the demonstrators' own safety?

Attack on anti-government protest probably would make anti-government people retaliate with open violence aganist pro-government people. That would give government even better reason to crack them down, then single secretive bombing attack. Also as more people participated in anti-government protests, it could be assumed, that it is easier for my guys to pick suitable(in area with as little security cameras as possible, to make it hard to track down attacker) anti-government rally for attack, then pro-government rally(as there is simply less of them).

Well, to be honest, then i made that attack, whole point was to start violence and get things really ugly. That who and where is targeted, and all that, seemed rather secondary. Then violence is started, it itsselfly usually creates new one(which is neccessary because obviously my spies cant make some long and massive bombing campaign). And if government is supected in playing dirty, then things can get out from control.

First, of course, I'd like to offer my condolences for the loss of your President

Sorry, what now?

Sorry, what now?

I think I spliced that from another thread, actually. It should have mentioned the death of our Emperor.

You know, I suppose this may be something I'd be involved in, as I've technically still got forces stationed in Portsmouth. Given the now violent nature of the demonstrators towards their own government, it would seem likely they also wouldn't be particularly happy with foreign combat forces which are supporting the government in some manner, yes?

The demonstrators are still a bit reluctant to take on the military (partly because some of the grievance was with MIU who are allegedly oppressing the honest soldiers) and by extension your forces. However, I'm sure I can rustle something up. The thread is still very open after all.

Well, the protesters/rioters should have a chance to cause me some problems. My ground forces at the moment are down to the equivalent of two divisions, mostly regular infantry and some mechanized infantry for support.
