World Christ Church
'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'
This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'
All the Law and the Prophets hangs on these two commandments.

In the middle of Bellevue, Vitolia, an eight mile by eight mile area was cleared recently for a massive undertaking - the construction of the world's largest Christian church.

The World Christ Church building itself covers a 6-by-6 mile area. With much of its roof standing eight stories tall, and its highest point standing four hundred and fifty feet into the air - that being an enormous golden cross - it is truly going to be one of the more important and most notable religious locations the globe over.

The main auditorium has a nave that seats 144,000 bodies. Massive televisions and screens with projectors fill the auditorium so that people may see the alter better.

There is free food, bibles, and other Christian literature distributed throughout the day for free, each and every day. On top of that, the doors of the church are opened wide all hours of the day and night, each and every day of the year. The church never will close on you.

The World Christ Church is a multi-denominational church that welcomes and is open to everyone. After all, every person is a son of God. And, as such, no matter who you are, you are loved, your sins forgiven.

OOC: Please feel free to RP people coming to this church for sight seeing, worship, and so forth. Also, if you'd like to RP a pastor, please notify me and I'll get back to you on that... Also, please PLEASE keep your OOC thoughts to yourself. If you choose to try and turn this into an OOC problem, I WILL bring in the mods. This is, after all, a RP...

Christ's Movement, a massive Christian-based organization within ViZion, wishes to match the $200 billion donation from Stoklomolvi.

President Kilo himself will be scheduling a visit to this new Christian church in Vitolia. And already, hundreds of thousands of missions and trips by Christian churches and organizations are being planned as we speak, as billions of ViZionarian Christians have begun to rejoice and celebrate this new church of God.

While my nation has no official religion and is by law run by a secular government, this is not to say that we are by any means atheist. On behalf of the Prestonian people I say God Bless this endeavour, and that I shall donate from my own fortune the sum of ten million Prestonian Dollars for use however it iis deemed necessary. Unfortunately, various issues within my own nation prevent me from coming to see the church at this time.

May God Bless You,
President Justin M. Gannon

(ooc: Just a small note-- those tossing in donations seem to be rather overestimating how much it costs to build something. Consider that the entire B-2 bomber development program cost 200 billion, and then look at your own contributions. By comparison, it is unlikely most buildings would cost anywhere near that much to build, except perhaps an arcology or something of the like.)

The Christian Republic of Zilam does not have money to spare to this project, but offers to send very willing workers to help complete this wonder. The Christian Republic of Zilam will also offer to provide security for said building, as it would seem to be a prime target for radicals, or warmongers. Finally, we offer to train the staff of the Church at our most prestigious Christian academy, Risen Son University, for no costs to those being trained.

We, the Christian Republic of Zilam, hope that these offers will be accepted to help complete the task at hand.

"I think this is a travesty of what it means to be Christian. I fail to see how G-d is glorified by this spectacle. With costs that would be perhaps near the trillions in construction maintenance and safety costs, this doesn't even factor in security...and all these donations being tossed down before this golden calf...I mean if my fellow Christians believe that such a monstrous altar of vanity is Christ-like then I think they should have another look at his actions. For the same cost utilitarian and eifficient places of worship could have been built, and globally at that. For the same costs ten of thousands of free clinics, shelters, food banks all in the name and for the glory of G-d could have been constructed. For the same costs amazing things could have been done for the betterment of all men everywhere in the name of G-d...instead...well you see what we have. What appears to be a very lucrative cash cow.

I will dispatch representatives of the Skibereenian Orthodox Church of course to offer a voice at what appears to be an international gathering of Christian faiths. However, no member of the Order* will be in attendance."

ViZion is expecting that at least 500 million per year ViZionarians will travel to the World Christ Church, if nothing more than to see what may, in the future, be dubbed as one of the great wonders of the world, and one that holds up the name of our Father.

A letter was sent back to Madog Mac Roth.

Hello Madog,

You are right, they are right... it is good to give. God will be extremely happy to see your willingness to give 10 cumals to him and to his name. And I can promise you, as can he, that it will go to great things. When you give, you will receive.

Pastor Tie Yaks

In the same envelope that the letter was in, a check, made out to Madog Mac Roth, was for 100 cumals. It also included a 50 gigabyte MP3 player filled to the brim with Christian songs and speeches.

A travesty against Christianity and God? We disagree. We never asked for any donations - indeed, never muttered such an idea of requesting money. These people, these countries, and these companies all felt compelled by the Holy Spirit who spoke to them. And they will receive their dues in great return!

We also agree - yes - everyone is their own church. However, something special happens when tens, hundreds, let alone thousands of Christians come together. Something that cannot be explained to the finite mind, something that indeed must be experienced. God never ASKED for churches and temples to be made, yet they are made. We never asked for donations, yet they are made.

This church, this WONDER is truly a wonder for all Christians to experience and to see at least once in their life, for when two Christians are put together, something happens. But when thousands are put together? Nothing can be stopped, nothing. It transends time and your finite mind. It requires an open mind, willing to believe and having a child-like faith. It's also where teaching happens for others to come to God, to enter the Kingdom, and to live their life the way God wishes you to.

And if you have a problem with this, how can you say you are a true Christian?

OOC:
How you're responding to television interview I am unsure but ok, failing to acknowledge emissaries form the Skibereenian Orthodox Church, which it self has a congregation several times that of your nation...seems counter productive...but ok...I'll bite.

IC:

"Transcendence? Nothing can be stopped? I find it interesting how your tirade did not include G-d's will but instead acts of men. This Idolatry plainly expressed in your churches actions and language is grossly disturbing.

G-d did not ask for a church, he commanded it. However it was not a gilded farce to trap the simple minded and wayward of faith.
You gather wealth like a tax collector, you hoard it around in parity of divinity with in the rotten womb of this twisted spectacle to birth is now clear to me a false faith of introspective transcendence and not submission to G-d's commandments and his will. The actions of your church and its language bear nothing Chr-st-like but everything of humanist cult.

I withdraw the allowance of emissaries fro the Skibereenian Orthodoxy or any member of its congregation to step foot on your the nation which bears the taint of your twisted heresy.

Rest assured false prophet, judgment is not far off.
