With an increase in the Naval budget as well as the aging of most of Orbath's Fleet, it has been decided that the entire Navy will be outfitted with new ships. The following is needed.

- Super Carriers capable of carrying more than 100 aircraft.
- Light Carriers holding around 25 aircraft
- Battle Ships
- Battle Cruisers
- 2 Dreadnaughts
- Cruisers
- Destroyers
- Frigates
- Minesweepers
- Ballistic Missile Submarines
- Small Patrol Vessels
- Amphibious Assault Ships (Like the Wasp Class)

OOC: I'm looking for NS designs and hoping they have been approved by the Draftroom though it is not a requirment.

[ OOC: Sorry, don't have time to write a lot IC.

I've got a ship which will fulfill boat and frigate role. No armament included, since there are too many possibilities, tell what you want (e.g. AA, ASW, anti-ship) and I'll give specs for the variant(s).

Then, in a while, I'm making a heavy expeditionary vessel, which is a mix of supercarrier and amphibious assault ship. The point is enhanced sortie generation speed due to size increase.

Got a nice multipurpose sub, can fulfill attack and SSBN role.

Some of the other stuff will come too, but later, and it will be more conventional. Less conventional than Hogsweat's designs, but not something outstanding.

A question, since I can't figure your alliances: What are you in? If none, are you in general on the pro-civil-rights side, capitalist, communist, reasonable, or else?

Tell if you're interested (and where on the compass you stand) and I'll make full IC post then. ]

OOC: I'm interested! I like the idea of one ship that can be outfitted for many roles, very good for logistical purposes. I would need an Anti Sub, Anti Air and patrolling vessel. However, we will still need a heavier Frigate for use with actual ''Fleets''. I'm also liking the heavy expeditionary vessel but would have to see specs. The sub also looks great and would replace both my ballistic missile subs and my attack subs which I actually wasn't going to replace until I saw this.

As for my IC ''compass'', my government is a democracy. It is somewhat pro environment, except for the military. It is also pro human rights. At the moment, my only allies are Stocklomolvi, but this is stretching due to blatant attacks on civilians and conflict with another ally, Anagonia. This alliance is only loose and is basically an agreement to operate on the same side in Cripistan.

Edit - Orbath is also fairly ''open'' in relations. It will interact with any form of government except those who restrict human rights. Dictatorships are generally frowned upon though if they provide good human rights this changes things.

Working on it. Just to let you know.

As for political compass, I just wanted to make sure I'm not making equipment for some nazi or slaver nation. As you're on our side, it's nice.

It's not my ship, but might i suggest the Tempora Heroica Class Internalized Through Deck Aircraft Carrier (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=473299).

Not as a competitor (I never had a goal of building up a pile of virtual Monopoly money), but as a tactician and as a naval architect....

The ship is OK from the architectural point of view. Not perfect (armor design is ineffective), but OK. However, from tactical, this new Shinano isn't really going to be particularly effective in combat. Basically, armor on carriers does little good: small long-range attacks are easily intercepted, while a close concentrated attack isn't survivable anyway. Its design will severely limit combat activity, basically making it less powerful than Nimitz. With all armor and missile bells and whistles, it will perhaps replace Nimitz plus a couple of escort destroyers (less vulnerable and armed). But that's hardly a good result for a vessel so expensive in procurement and maintenance.

I know this is a thread for ships, but I have a suggestion to equip your ship with a missle a designed called a "Straight Arrow" It works like this, the missle harness's plasma to burn through the ships outer hull and once inside explodes damaging crew and equipment if used correctly you can disarm and disable a ship in one shot.

Its size can be fitted to anything you want.

I'm thinking plasma may be too PMT. As for the ship, I'm not really a fan of the Through deck carrier. Rather than spend money on an armored carrier, I'd rather pay for better equipped escorts. Also, landing and take off become harder, which requires more training for future pilots and means all my current pilots have to be retrained.

Actually takeoff is fine, relatively. But landing into anything but a still ship in calm seas would be suicide straight away. Imagine trying to fly a jet fighter into a narrow rectangular slot, only a little higher than the fighter, *and* on top of that rocking up and down, left and right, turning clockwise and counter-clockwise. And with abrupt airflow disruption near that port. Landing on a flying airliner's wing would be way easier. This would be like trying to fly a plane right into the back of an off-road truck racing a cross.

Perhaps it could handle Harriers with very skilled pilots (and AI is dumber than a pilot), maybe possibly F-35B (VTOL), and surely not anything with conventional landing. VTOL only.

Ok whatever you say.
