To the nations of the world:
The United Defense Directorate, a mutual defense, technology-based alliance, has opened to new members. This is a relatively new but stable alliance, with several large nations constituting the primary ruling body, the Board. We are open to all governments, which will be proven by the diversity of nations inhabiting our region. There is no regulation on size of a nation that wishes to join, and smaller nations seeking refuge are just as welcome as large power blocks.
The UDD, as previously stated, was formed for the purpose of creating a large alliance of nations that acts a think tank for new weapons designs. The UDD strives to be on the cutting edge and, while our small arms and infantry departments are comparable to most other powerful nations, other areas while still formidable, are under revision. The ultimate goal is to reach the pinnacle of the modern to post-modern tech world and maintain technological supremacy for the sole purpose of defending fellow members.
The UDD is a defensive alliance, not an offensive one. Though all governments are welcome, aggressive or expansionist governments are cautioned in this paragraph that before joining conquest is not the UDD’s primary goal. What should be the foremost priority of every member nation is peacefully maintaining and contributing to the alliance. In times of conflict, a minimum of an additional five nations in addition to the nation that has been attacked is mandatory to render assistance.
In the event of an unsubstantiated act of aggression on the part of a member nation, the UDD will decline to take responsibility for said nation and will not render assistance in the name of the alliance. Any member nation who assists anyway will be allowed to do so under its own sovereignty but will face inquiry before the Board after the conflict. Should the nations be defeated but the foe continues to make war and/or occupies any of the involved member nations, the Directorate will respond with force to drive them out and restore sovereignty to its members, no more, no less.
Directorate members will NOT impose their ideology on other members or make war on one another unless a grievous act is committed by the offending nation. That being the case, the Directorate will step back and allow the two nations to fight it out themselves. Depending on if a clear right or wrong can be determined, the Directorate may or may not endorse one of the nations but will not be directly involved.
Any interested nation feel free to post your formal request below. Moving to our region is not mandatory, though we encourage you at least send an ambassador nation to maintain direct contact.
