This is where the peace confrence and possible war will happen.

The Prime Minister of the PDFMS (People's Democratic Federal Monarchy of Solenial) Ryan Laing had suddenly heard of a possible war between the Blub Colony and Cookborough in the once Solenial controlled Rebel Nation of North Miroxia.

After he closed the window for SBC News 24 he got onto the phone with his Defence Minister,

"Mr Jones, have you heard of this potential conflict in the North Miroxian State!?"
"Just Recently Sir, but what are we meant to do?"
"We have the advantage of a strong fair army and a great investment in Diplomatic Training Colleges, we want to go there and make peace!"
"Sir, surely it's upto Miroxia and the other owners of the North Miroxian Colony to sort this out."
"But that's the problem Mr Jones, there's many nations involved and we don't want a giant 'pile-up' war with about 14 Nations Nuking each other."

By now Mr Laing and the Cabinet member were both pacing the floor,

"So what shall we do?" asked the Defence Minister
"We are to immediately send a Correspondent to Ludicare capital Cookborough,"
"Then what!?"
"I want our Ambassador to Miroxia to immediately hold a conference with Dictator Roland Adams in Port Durant."
"Okay, and what about all the Warehouses and Factories we set up in North Miroxia?"
"I want to remove them from the Potential Warzone North Miroxia and ask to temporarily move all Solen Businessmen to the most Northerly Major city in Miroxia"
"What do we do then?"
"Get into contact with the Blub Colony, see if we can come to an agreement."
"And if we Cannot?"
"Then we compare Defence Statistics and decide whether to go to war!"
"Okay i'll get Mr Barnes (Minister of Foreign Affairs) to ready the Envoys and Ambassadors, i'll ready the Armed Forces and i'll talk to you later, Good Day Sir!"
"Good Day!" The Prime Minister put down his phone and took a sip of his Vrizi Cola, he didn't often drink fizzy drinks but he liked a bit of a treat.

The Prime Miniser, A Fair-Haired, well Groomed, Handsome rather young man entered into the Reception and called for his assistant,

"Hi Evelyn!" Evelyn was also rather young, blonde and equally smartly dressed but still with a rather personal look, "Is the Computer in Room C available?"
"For you sir of course,"
The Prime Minister walked into the room, Evelyn was not hired for her looks she was rather intelectual and her and the prime minister had nothing going on.

Anyway he walked into the room and turned on the computer, he sent several e-mails,

We will talk to the Blubs when they agree to unconditionally give up their ridiculous claims to Serenno. If they are too stupid to see reason before they are destroyed, so be it on them.

David Aposon had been alerted by President Snow of the war and she had asked him to help. Of course he inquired as to what was in it for Uiri. President Snow and he agreed to defense at a later date and mutual recognition of their antarctican claims. The Uir claim was 150ºW to 150º E and the other claim was 53º W to 90º W and so the claims didn't overlap allowing ease of mutual recognition.

Aposon knew that sending troops to fight could cause the conflict to drag on for a long time. Uiri was just establishing the Antarctic colony and couldn't afford to spare troops until the colony was firmly established. David opted to go in for the quick way out but first he needed to make a call to President Snow. David called the President and awaited the reponse.

I hate your kind. You think you can just do whatever you want, you think you're better than everyone, and you do everything you can to make people miserable. There are probably 20 other land areas for claim. What the crap are you thinking? If you country is as poor as you make it sound, how do you afford your milatar? If you needed some help and kindly asked me, I might of givin you some land and share the island. But instead, you go and invade a claimed colony. You are so rude! I will have the area evacuated so Uiri can small pox you after my nuclear attack. You have 24 hours from 5:47 pm eastern time (USA) to select some other land. I hope your common sense kicks in.

It is our land now. You ceded it when you publicly announced that you were giving it up. You cannot claim what you cannot hold. Simply accept the loss, when infact it is not a loss at all, is it? You were giving it away anyhow.

Further, any use of WMDs of any type will result in an immediate retaliation. You may kill our soldiers with your nukes, but we will kill your nation with ours. We highly reccomend that if you want to contest our claims, do it conventionally on the field of battle.

Seeing as how these 'peace talks' are getting nowhere, we see little reason to continue. We can perhaps use this venue for your formal surrender of the territory when the time comes, yes?

"Rules? You gave the land away to whomever wanted it. We just happened to want a larger piece. Is it worth fighting a war over?"

Meanwhile

In the sky, the Blackburn Battle FA.1 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13163696&postcount=5) squadron was approaching rapidly. Directing the action were a trio of E-3 Otter AWAC. Even further back was a single E-14A (http://www.forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12804963&postcount=31), escorted by tankers and multi-level tactical fighters.

"Otter One to Beach Sweep."

"This is Beach Sweep."

"Eyes Above is reporting fighting positions in Grid 2066 by 2065, east to west. We are marking locations now."

"Roger Otter One. Beach Sweep Actual to Beach Sweep Element, you are weapons free now."

The Blackburn FA.1s dipped below the cloud cover as the C&C platform relayed to their onboard systems various targets.

"Begin attack run. Beach Sweep Hatchet first followed by Axe and Sword."

The first four jets, at a range of about 10 miles began to drop their payloads. anti-personel JSOW glide bombs fell down, moving forward at high speed. They would, when they arrived, explode in the air over the beach. The submunitions within the JSOWs scattering anti-personel packets through the air. The packets then ignited, sending their shrapnel downwards at angles, to penetrate even foxholes and slit trenches. Like a string of deadly fireworks, the JSOWs would 'prepare' the beaches by cutting down anything alive.

The second four jets, Axe Element followed up the first by dropping anti-vehicle JSOWs. These smart weapons would break apart over the enemy positions, and out fell 4lb submunitions. The submunitions sought out individual targets based on heat, and then exploded, sending a self-forging, molten copper slug downwards towards the heat source.

The last four jets, Sword Element were equipped with missiles rather than bombs. At a safe range of 15 miles, they let fly. The missiles were HARM. They sought out RADAR sources and emissions.

The Beach

As the bombs and missiles were falling, the amphibious force sped up to assault mode. 5 Donaldson Class cruisers (http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/541/ransdonaldsonwu6.png) opened up with massive salvos of missiles. The missiles were land attack cruise missiles for the most part. Not aimed at anything in particular, they simply exploded in what seemed like random patterns. These 'random' patterns were designed to open up assault lanes by clearing mines, obstacles and other hazards.

Further, one of the Donaldsons began to volley-fire special rockets. Smaller than cruise missiles, they exploded in puffs of phospherous which scattered the glowing chemical across the sand. Drifting on the smoke were tiny particles of metal, which would undoubtedly play havoc on targeting systems along with providing a massive smoke screen.

The Sea

The Blubs don't like submarines. They don't use them, and therefore didn't care much about 'friendly' damage by what came next. The fleet's aging Mk. III Ticonderoga Class Cruisers swept to either side of the battle zone. Scanning under the waters with powerful SONARs and MAGSCAN, they sought out enemy submarines. ASW helicopters were ranging even further, forming a 'net' to catch submarines.

Oddly enough, Guardian Class frigates were placed all around vital ships in the taskforce at regular intervals. The Guardians had odd-looking boom cranes instead of helicopter pads, and the crews seemed to be deploying some sort of cables or drag lines.

The Sea
At sea, the purpose of the Guardians finally came into focus. They were of course, still dragging the lines behind them, screening the main fleet. The enemy torpedos zoomed in beneath the waves, seeking out Colonial Navy ships. But then.. smashed directly into the torpedo net wall that the Guardians had strung out.

The torpedo nets were simple devices, usually deployed in harbors. Simply very long drags with high-strength cables in a net pattern. As torpedos rammed into the metal nets, geysers of white foam errupted in the sea several kilometers from the main fleet.

The nets were not fool-proof however, and there were some gaps. Several torpedos got through. This was reported immedietly by picket ships deployed just on the inside of the nets. They fired off decoys, which succeeded in baffling a couple of the enemy torpedos. Yet, off the bow of BCN Jaguar, a Prince of Aralonia Class Battleship (http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php?showtopic=123&hl=) came an explosion as one .. and then two more torpedos struck the massive warship.

The 106 billion dollar ship went into a tight S-turn, weaving to avoid further strikes as forward compartments flooded. Damage control was already in progress, and the bow dipped slightly due to the extra weight of metric tons of water.

Further among the fleet, two Mk.III Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers were also struck. Unable to absorb as much damage, one snapped in two as its spine broke and began to sink. The second ground to a halt, fires raging onboard.

The response.. was to be epic.

BCN Blubland

The Victory Class Dreadnought (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12717463&postcount=1) was the first to fly the 'Blubland' name since the devestating Battle of Leyte with Hataria. Other ships had been designated 'Blubland' as part of covert ops, but there had been no official records. The warship seemed bulky by modern standards, perhaps even out-of-date. But for the Blubs, it was a matter of pride that they maintain a ship that so closely resembled the kings of the sea from bygone days.

Chief Admiral Bribbit squinted, watching BCN Jaguar recovering about five kilometers away, "I want full broadsides on those Miroxian warships. Order a general attack. Amphibious forces are a go."

And Blubland's bow swung around, the massive main guns slowly turning to port and angling upwards. Mirrored in the fleet, two more Victory type battleships and two more Prince of Aralonia battleships did the same.

Then, all at once.. the main guns began to fire. In the era of missile defense systems, one could still rely on a good old-fashioned bombardment by cannon. And indeed, volleys of 20 and 25 inch, multiple-ton, armor-piercing shells were launched towards the Miroxian ships. Immedietly, the missile cruises and VLS systems onboard the battleships opened up as well. 124 SLAM Harpoon II anti-shipping missiles sped off into the distance, targetting Miroxian ships.

The Air
The CAP (Combat Air Patrol) flown by the carriers in the fleet immedietly turned towards the Miroxian jets incoming. The F-28 Green Eagles, guided by E-3 Electronics Warfare support aircraft began targetting Miroxian jets at long range. And in a wave, sent air-to-air missiles streaking after them.

The Coastline
The first wave of amphibious assault ships continued to make use of the smoke screens to approach. A dozen landing ships were hit, floundering here and there as the crews bailed out.. orange life vests bobbing in the sea as they tried to push towards shore.

Then.. the LSTs hit the beach. Smoke canisters in the fronts of the ships fired, furthering obscuring the battlefield as the ramps slammed down and Colonial Marines stormed forward.

Several of the assault ships carried wheeled LVTs. Effectively an armored personnel carrier, they rolled forward, aiming large-bore weapons towards the sea wall. The weapons opened up.. and out shot long, orange and black streams of burning napalm. The flamethrowers swept back and forth in prepared lanes.

At least one LVT was struck by tank fire, and it errupted into a massive fireball, rising above even the thick clouds of smoke. The napalm onboard alight.

Dozens of unmoving Blubs lay in the sand, dead or injured as the Colonial Marines began their assault. Battle rifles blazing, attempting to establish a firm beachead.

Elsewhere
Hundreds of miles away... a pair of large aircraft were approaching, escorted by a dozen tactical fighters. And even further away, the Starlifter IIs carrying paratroopers were finally fully airborne.

The Sea

Admiral Hoply saw the coming harpoons. "Fire torpedoes!" Hoply yelled. The torpeodoes countered the harpoons, but the main guns, aimed perfectly towrd's Hoply's ship, were coming fast. They hit with an explosion as the area caught on fire. A hole opened up in the deck and the waves of the sea rushed in, but the ship was still up, yet was burning slowly. Admiral Hoply was knocked off his feet at this point. He got up and yelled, "Fire our cannons and built in guns! Don't stop their, torpedoes, too!" While this went on, 3 other Miroxian ships went down caused by some stray, missed torpedoes. Hoply's crew went to follow the given orders. Then missiles, bullets, and cannons and torpedoes went off. The ship was burning slowly, but still hung on, like and man, dangling from cliff that was hanging on for dear life. The Miroxian Star 4 was the name of the ship: it would be a respected sight for years to come: A burning ship still strong, captain and crew fighting as if nothing had happened, a hole in its side, sinking lower and lower, but never giving up...

Miroxian Skies

5 Miroxian jets were sent down by the missiles, but 3 more arrived from the Serenno Coast. They started sending their own missiles, but unfortunetly for Miroxia-077 Jet 3's engine was hit by stray debris from the other planes. it wobbled until it collided with another Miroxian plane. 2 more arrived, and shot their random fires...

Serenno Coast

The random shot ceased as the smoke started to clear up. General Chez looked through his smoke-clearing binoculars. He saw something in the distance, but said, "Be ready, and when they start shooting, you will, too." With that, the troops were ready for whatever, because the minute they started shooting, so did they.

Kalmont Creek, Miroxia

Durant Adams stepped off the stage as the camerman went live to a security camera on Miroxia Star 4 as, in the background, the song "Final Countdown" played. They famed mayor of Port Durant and son of Dictator Roland Adams was leaving after giving a speech in Kalmont Creek, the nation's backup capital. He was a likely candidate for dictator when Roland left. The 28-year-old man sighed as he stepped into his limo. "This war is going to destroy Miroxia," he said. He was right. The people watch the video bravely, seeing loved ones die: but that was war. Jaques Aaron Zanzay, a famous painter from Miroxia was there. He caught glimps of the ship and said, "That's my next master piece." He left to go paint, and the leagacy of the Miroxia Star 4 began...

At Sea

Enemy shells rained down over the front-line combatants. Fortunetly, the Colonial Navy's aircraft carriers along with a detachment of surface warfare ships had broken away and remained out of range. Onboard BCN Yellow Jacket, Rear-Admiral Vrip squinted through a set of binoculars. In the haze of smoke, he could see the outlines of the three Victory Class Battleships and three Prince of Aralonia Class Battleships. Orange fireballs rolled along each battleship as their main guns fired in volleys as quickly as they could be reloaded.

Flashes and gouts of black smoke showed where the Miroxian cannons were landing hits. BCN Emerald Mountain, a Victory Battleship staggered as a pair of Miroxian shells punched through the bridge. With communications to engineering knocked out, the engineers threw the ship into an emergency C-turn, smoke streaming from the superstructure. Fire-directors continued to instruct the main guns however, and Emerald Mountain's batteries sang out, spitting their 3 ton ammunition towards the Miroxian ships.

Chief Admiral Bribbit stared through the reinforced windows of the bridge, watching foaming gouts of sea water jet upwards. "They seem to have countered the Harpoon IIs somehow. Activate missile and torpedo counter-measures, and engage with cannonade. Taskforce 1.2 is to flank speed west, fifty degrees and engage."

While the six massive battleships continued to absorb hits and fire their own guns, the Guardian class frigates released their torpedo nets, letting them float via the bouys and proceeded to actually close the distance between Miroxian and Blubland navies. Manuvering to about 10km away from the Colonial battleline, the Guardians began to launch their decoy torpedos, and use sophisticated electronic warfare packages to distract any missiles and torpedos in the area. The air and sea seemed filled with electrical pulses and false signatures, effectively jamming missile and torpedo combat between the forces.

Taskforce 1.2

Six Nemesis Class Air Defense Cruisers (http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/4720/nemesisddcf5.png) and ten Donaldson Class Guided Missile Cruisers (http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/541/ransdonaldsonwu6.png) swung towards the west and began a flank-speed run. Trying to get out of the massive 'bubble' of electronic warfare, as it was currently impossible to get a lock in the mess created by the Guardians.

The Air
"Badger to Too-Tall! You've got an arrow inbound!" Immedietly, one of the F-28s tipped up onto its wing and entered a tight turn. Unfortunetly, the Miroxian air-to-air missile made the turn as well, and exploded. The F-28D Green Eagle disappeared into a cloud of debris.

With only two Miroxian jets left in the air, the surviving 17 Green Eagles turned, and launched a wave of air-to-air missiles at the pair. A message went out:

"This is Badger to Eyes Above. We've pretty much got this mopped up. I can see the beach, our marines are going to get a major hurting once they clear the seawall."

"Roger Badger. The Airborne are inbound."

"Acknowledged, Eyes Above. Poor bastards."

The Beaches

The second wave was just arriving as the Colonial Marines crossed the sea wall. The second wave consisted of much bigger ships this time, and when their ramps came down.. out rolled M20 Mackhall Main Battle Tanks (http://www.forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=501027) painted in the camoflage patterns used by the Colonial Marines.

The M20s rolled across the wet sand, treads tearing gashes in the ground. Their main guns swiveled back and forth, and on infrared through the smoke they began to fire on the defending Miroxian positions.

Crouched in a crater created by the initial bombardment, Colonel Barcay of the 7th Marine Brigade was yelling into a radio to be heard over the sound of combat, "I said! We're pushing inland. We need to establish this beachead for the main landings. The paratroops are on their way, but they're behind schedule. Requesting shore bombardment by cannonade."

"Negative Colonel. Our battleships are still fighting the Miroxian navy, there can be no cannonade support currently. You are to push forward towards Position 12 and Position 13 per briefing."

"Acknowledged, but we could use support."

"I'll see what I can do."

Above

The pair of AC-100 Rocs (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13195195&postcount=9) which had been approaching recieved their mission orders. They went to maximum altitude and flipped on their jamming equipment. Their tactical fighter escort would protect them from the air.. as their weapon systems began to look down over the battlefield.

Within moments, wherever Miroxian positions could be seen from above, the AC-100s fired their 125mm howitzers, 40mm bofors and 25mm rotary cannons. The 25mm guns were frightening to say the least. Streams of tracers came down, spaced so closely together they looked like long tentacles of lava, which hosed defending positions, flame and debris splattering up from the ground.

Miroxia Star 4 was still holding out. Many of the Miroxian ships had set out their own Torpedoe Nets. 2 more Miroxian ships went down because of stray torpedoes. Many were damaged because of bullets. Miroxia Star 4 still shot there all. Many other ships were shooting, too...

Miroxia Skies

6 More planes arrived by the time Blub Colony shot at the two Miroxian planes. They thought quickly as they dropped two bombs, which were hit by Blub missiles. At this time, so many planes arrived, that there were 20 Miroxian planes, all firing like there was no tomorrow...

And i'm sure that Cookborough was fairly busy with something called 'Real Life' which is why he never RPed his stuff for that short amount of time. Cause you do know that Real Life takes priority over NationStates. Thats just how it is.

And as of right now, I doubt you want me to get involved, because if I do, i'll go all out as you claimed territory and attempted an invastion of territory that was already claimed even before you posted in that other thread, which my nation would feel is just plain wrong and would feel that military action is nessicary to quell this little skirmish that you've caused.

OOC: I don't reply to flamebaiting, as ignorant as it may be.

Cook: When you say "Dur.. me put up blockade" and never mention the number of ships, type of ships, what they're doing.. and never RP them, what happens? I'm forever blockaded? Naw. You had a several day gap to post. I even checked your profile during that time. You'd logged on, and decided appearently not to post. So.. the RP moves on.

The land is mine, since I hold it. You want it? Come and get it.

yea logging on for a maybe a minute to choose my issues, i do have other things to be doing

Why would I come get that which is already mine? Simply saying "Zomgz, i lawnched teh ships an planes and now this is liek mine!1!!!111!" means absolutely nothing.

Actually, considering I RP'd it, it means quite a lot. You went out of your way to avoid RPing it. Which begs one to wonder, why exactly you're even here. I find it very, very disturbing that you would even think simply posting "ME BLOCKADE!" somehow equals victory.

Especially considering you never said how many ships, what types of ships, what specificly they were doing.

I wouldn't presume to go, "Okay. I'm invading you with .. uh.. marines. And some tanks." then refuse to make any posts, and 4 days later start complaining when my post is ignored because the other participants of the scene have nothing to go on.

So. Yeah. All this time you've been crying and bitching could have been spent typing up an in-character response to the situation. You still haven't. So.. I'll just hang right onto my newly occupied territory and whistle along my merry way until you decide to make a real reply.

I would suggest you all just ignore Blub's claim since he doesn't seem to get that he's godmodding and some people don't time to post every damn day. He may have logged on but I don't know...maybe didn't have time to post? Only wanted to check on things real quick?

OOC:
Actually. I'm just thinking of nuking blubs fleet and then sending an invasion/extermination force to his so called 'Colony' and then letting Cookborough have it. I'm just tryin to figure out how to RP it...

You want a reply? Then here:

Lucidare, Cookborough

The Conference Room was filled with the joint chief and other heads of Cookborough. They listened anxiously into the conversation President Snow was having with the Minister of Science.

"These Blubs are becoming increasingly annoying, will this work?"

"Most assuredly, Madam President."

"Launch the strike."

Skies above Serenno

The Blub Ships were just beyond the blockade and fast approaching and the fighter squadron that had been heading towards them suddenly fell back, they themselves being replaced with a lone bomber.

quickly it flew as close a possible with out the enemy planes or anti-aircraft shells being able to destroy it and it's valuable cargo.

Close...

Closer...

Then with a loud boom the bomb had been released from it's hold and headed for the Blub Forces. It gained speed and went to the middle of their oncoming forces and then detonated.

With a bright flash of blue and an roar like that of a hurricane, it quickly engulfed the planes, ships, and troops on both sides. As quickly as it came the bomb subsided and there was an odd serenity.

To one who would have stood there it would seem like nothing had happened. The Blub Forces had departed from whench they came as had the extra Cookboroughan troops that had been called in. The trenched in beaches and woods had returned to their original state. Somewhere a bird chirped and the sun came out from behind the clouds....

thus was the awesome power of the mighty IGNORE Bomb
