It has come to the attention of the Republic Military that a new Main Battle Platform is needed for future combat purposes. We purpose a design capable of being able to hold an M1A2 Abrams 105mm main gun or the M2A3 Bradley's 25mm "Bushmaster" Chain Gun. This platform needs to be capable of either a walking-class or a Heavy Tank class that is capable of Infantry Assistance and Main Battle Tank Assault purposes. This design must comply with Standard Modern-Tech to Post-Modern Tech lines and be able to be deployed and manufactured in a cheap and economical manner. Cheap for Anagonia is about half a Billion Denars, and with manufacturing would lower dramatically.

As of yet the Republic Military has failed to assemble and construct a design. Our latest attempt, a Mobile Gun Walker Platform, failed miserably to contain the shock of the main 105mm Main Gun. The second type, with the 25mm Chain Gun, failed in reloading time and repositioning. We, at the most, desire a troop transport walker, which would be able to support urban environments.

Specification Needs
-Urban Fighter Capability (Be able to navigate streets and buildings efficiently)
-Tank Combat (be able to survive a MBT Encounter)
-Infantry Combat (be able to subdue or kill infantry resistance)
-Troop transport (be able to at least hold five Marines)
-Fuel Consumption (be able to provide the latest MT or PMT engine designs within economical reasons)
-Non Wankery (being able to sustain constant ignore cannons)

As brief as this is we offer a compensation of $1 Billion USD to the first to comply and design to our needs. An Image is desirable, but not necessary.

Thank you.

[ Que? 20 mm and 105 mm have...just slightly different roles, you know.

I can fill both roles (infantry support and MBT), but not in one package, really. The Type 97 (the tank) has a 7.62 mm minigun, but it doesn't carry troops.

Tbh, I've never agreed with the idea of the Merkava storing troops in it. You just don't get enough...ah...troop density, I'll call it, with 5 men per vehicle, especially in close quarters as in a city. Others will disagree with me, but I suppose that's their right, and we fundamentally disagree on tactics.

I advise against mechs in general. Any advantage they might have in terrain navigation is kind of nullified in a city, where you can just smash through and over things (ie cars and fences). Anti-tank ditches will probably not be encountered (ever try to make a ditch through asphalt and concrete?). ]

[ The Type 97 I was talking about can be found here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13216124&postcount=1), and the ICV I alluded to is here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13216706&postcount=4).

Apologies. I thought you were asking for a tank with a 20 mm autocannon on it, as well. ]

Thanks for the advice.

Though I'm not looking for a twenty-story tall mech, I am looking for something slightly taller than two-stories. I know the different roles, and I offered two distinct possibilities for construction and out-take. I'd like to see your design, if possible.

Thing is, the mecha also has the slight problem that it completely violates the whole "cheap and economical manner." Insane amount of moving parts + far more surface area to armor + inefficient movement = overly complex, incredibly heavy, lightly armored gas guzzling monstrosity.

OOC:

For post-modern tech Anagonia implies a Hydrogen Fuel-Cell technology, as implied in previous posts. For MT, this is easily affordable, considering the Diesel Probability, and considering that we are only looking for a design. Improving is in my nations mannerism, and therefore would be paramount. Eventually I would only use it for PMT battles, considering I would have to switch to HFC powers.
