Kubra's failed attempt to return to the world stage
After years of isolationism and demilitarization Kubra has emerged to enter the world stage. However, despite the best efforts of scientists they have not been ablr to locate the exact position of the world stage. Some experts say it's at the end of the rainbow, but all the search parties found at the ends of rainbows were pots full of some yellowy coin things. Others speculate that this world stage is in our minds. However, after much dissection and kidney-stealing of homeless people it has been confirmed there is no stage within our minds. All small amount of people speculate that the world stage is a metaphor, that the world stage reprensents becoming an active part of the world and being able to effect it with our actions. However, such a theory has been deemed "retarded" and "durrr, what" by the population.
However, despite all these theories a positive location on the World Stage has yet to be made and will not be found any time soon. We can only hope a friendly nation will point us in the direction of the world stage, so we may send actors to do Grease or something.
Friendly nations are also asked if they would be willing to trade goods with us, as Kubrans have grown slightly cranky without a regular supply of exotic meat.

Kubra is delighed to hear you would like to re-establish our previous relationship. However, we are disappointed you would not help direct us to the World Stage. We don't know why the stage is so important but everyione talks about it, so we assume they must put on good plays or something.

There is the perpetual figurative "world stage," which is a metaphor with every nation being an actor and those most active and influential taking center stage, but far more literal is the Globe Theater, where many of William Shakespeare's works were played during his lifetime. We are not sure what has become of it now, but it is probably worth looking for.
Global theatre, yes, but not World Stage.

Is it not too similar to be coincidence? World, Global? Stage, Theatre?
Surely you see that the two must be related, if the world stage is to be taken literally.
As for the metaphor, your logic is unimpeachable.
