The Parliament of Lexint now has full membership in both Houses, legitimising it's role as the governing body of the new Commonwealth of Lexint, in the region of Cingeta, and pushing to one side the provisional executive, which has now fused into the Upper House.

Therefore, I would like to extend a hand of friendship to all progressive nations out there, and I invite all and any who are interested in a diplomatic relationship with the Commonwealth to send their ambassadors, envoys and delegates to a reception to be held (in this thread).

Signed,
Speaker of the Upper House,
Parliament of The Commonwealth of Lexint

The New Brittonian government welcomes the Commonwealth of Lexint to the world, and wishes for Foreign Minster Nabila Katchab to meet with Lexintian governmental officials to discuss aid and diplomacy.

"After breaking away from the former Vice Chancellor, Johanass Strasbourg, the Speaker of the Upper House greets Nabila Katchab "Excellent you could come! How was your flight?" "Not too bad, short and sweet you know. And how is your government shaping up?" - Johanass pulls over a short, bald man with a six-point gold star badge on his lapel - "This is our Speaker of the Lower House, Fredrick Ruebelles, Fred, this is our guest Nabila Katchab from New Brittonia I mentioned." "Very nice to meet you, Nabila, we haven't had so much attention tonight, it's good you could come." Taking generous glasses of port from a passing waiter, the three sat down in rather worn looking armchairs. "So how does your role in government differ then, Mr Ruebelles?" asked Katchab. "Well, as you know I'm the Speaker of the Lower House, whereas Strasbourg is Speaker of the Upper House. We both do the same job in the sense that we, ah, 'speak', on behalf of the members of each house. Lexint is a very small nation at the moment, theres only about 200 members in each house." "Yes, the Upper House isn't elected, but rather is made up of members who do a 10 year stint. On the other hand, the Lower House's members must have elections every two years, though they're all at different times." "I see." Katchab was nodding, thoughtfully. "So there's no cabinet, or government so to speak?" "That's right. The Upper House handles foreign affairs, criminal justice, emergencies, raises Taxes and handles any other business" "And we handle public services, the environment and the economy. It works well, and either House can create a law which must be passed by the other house". Ruebelles finished. "Interesting. I'm afraid I don't have long here, so we must be getting on." Katchab began to stand with Fredrick, looking disappointed as Johannas sat back in chair, preparing to offer him some more port. "Something to do with Aid wasn't it?"

Nabila said,
"We noticed that you are a new nation, and we want to know what your developmental situation is, so we can determine how much aid you can recieve."

"Although the Parliament has only been in full session for just over a day, the Provisional Executive has effectively laid out the foundations of our economy. We are currently investing in transport and utilities at the moment, health and education can only come after we have a decent revenue of about £250bn. In the meantime, we're relying on private firms to provide all the training necessary, and people are travelling across the border for any serious treatment."

"Well, if your health and education are lacking, them Lexint can recieve quite a bit of New Brittonian aid then."
