People
The Shakal people are not yet really existant upon the continent. They are people from a far off land that are shrouded in mystery and number small enough that the entire race has travelled here on three Quinquerimes. They are larger than humans by nature, averageing near seven feet tall, and are built stronger. They rely upon there nature strength to overcome many obstacles. They however differ from humans in one very imprtant way, they live up to 400 years on average, much longer than there counterparts.
Society
Shakal society is based on the principle of superiority of skill and an unyeilding determination to cleanse the world of all of what the Shakal deem evil. This is relative, in there old lands the Shakal were considered a scourge and a ruthless, but honorable opponent. As of yet the Shakal have no real government, instead they are led by there former Prince, now High Praetor Zalord. The people are mostly from 14-28 years of age, with a few notable exceptions including several former heroes and soldiers. As soon as the Shakal make landfall they plan to build a small settlement. It will number a mere 600 men, women, and children. They still remain ignorant of the troubles in this continent, but are resilient and will persevere. The Shakal people have no religion, unless one consideres the desire to pruge the world of all evil a religion. They follow no book or scriptures. The only rule is that one must never allow ones self to be overtaken by the evil.
Technology
Shakal technology is highly reliant on its expert craftsmen. The swords of each warrior are professionially constructed to suit the man or womand build. The same also is true for armor, and any other weapon that the warrior wishes to use. Shakal bows are recurved and built to suit the soldiers that use them.
Military
The Shakal military relies on the prowess of the individual soldier to succeed. The main weapons are the crossbow for long range, and a sword of varying style as the melee weapon. The other weapons include axes, hammers, longbows, spears, halberds, and various other weapons. Children are trained from the age of 8 with weapons and are given one that best suits there build and technique, this way Shakal warriors fight as unparelled individuals.
