Part I. Factbook Data

Population. 7.336 billion
94% Kroandon. The Kroandon People hail from the Island of Haztolp, now called 'Kroando Former', the semi-submerged island chain somewhere in the southpacific. A series of volcanic eruptions nearly obliterated the islands, forcing the Kroandon people to flee the islands. The massive armada of refugees arrived in Antartika, and colonized the island thereafter. They are above normal in height and weight (slightly), and are charactarized by their moderate/light skin tone, dark black hair and sharp facial features.
2% European. The various European intellectuals who flocked to the call of the Human Order to create a 'single race'. So far however they have made no ethnic impact upon Kroando, nor does it look like they ever will. They vary in looks and ethnicity.
1% Undermonite. The native peoples of Undermon, loyal to Kroando due to the drastic economic input Kroando has pumped in, as well as the fact that they are now a minority in their homeland, due to massive Kroandon emmigration to the warm colony. They are white skinned (noticeably darker than Kroandons) with black/brown hair and normal features. They represent Kroandon's to everyone but Kroandon's.
<1% Scotz. The native Scotz of West Scotzdom. They are quite loyal to Kroando due to the massive Kroandon Army stationed in their homeland. Usually rather stocky, they are quite hairy and have almost exclusively, red hair.
<1% Native Antartikan. The indigenous peoples of Antartika, mostly killed off by the Kroandon colonizers. Now they mainly live as a part of Kroandon society in the Mega-Cities, or remain as roaming nomads. They are relatively short, and resemble American Indians.
1% Mixed. So thoroughly mixed between so many different ethnicities and nationalities, it is impossible to distinguish them from one another.

Major Languages. Kroish, Kroandaron, English, Kro-Speak, Various Native Antarctikan Languages, Native Dialects Amongst Colonial Possessions.

Kroish - Usually only spoken in the Port City of Scolar. Kroish is a mutation of Kroandaron, English and the peculiar local accent that very few have come to understand. It is very fast paced, and all hard consonants are curled and smoothed over to blend in with surrounding vowels. Often times verbs and nouns are blended together to invent new words. Usually those whom speak Kroish can, if they so desire, slow down and speak proper Kroandaron, but seldom due, unless being abducted by the government, or going to a job interview.

Kroandaron - The unique Kroandon language spoken by most Kroandons. Roughly 60% can read and write in the cryllic-like script it is written in. It's extremely proper form is only spoken by the very upper-elite society of the nation, where as the majority of the country speaks a less sophisticated version, or even English in it's place [a much easier language - it is said Kroandaron is the hardest language in the world to learn if you are not born into it]. Kroish, Kro-Speak and English mutations are often used in it's stead.

Kro-Speak - A sort of Kroandaron slang. Fast paced, never written, spoken without the necessary preparatory adjex and precot [parts of Kroandaron speech]. Equatable to english 'ghetto' talk, however sounds nothing alike, and to non-kroandaron speakers, it sounds exactly the same. Usually spoken by youth, lower classes, middle classes, and actually, the upper middle class. Only the very highest speak proper Kroandaron.

Tariff. 26.5% of product retail value. Unless a foriegn nation has a higher rate, in which case Tariff is raised to match that nations.
Internal Tax. 5-65% based on income/profit margin

Citizenry Levels [From Lowest to Highest]

P.W.O-Prohibitory Civilian. A Permanent Work Order Prohibitory Class Civilian. This is a felon, criminal, delinquent of some sort which had been arrested and deported to one of the various labor camps throughout the country. He/she has no hope for release and will work out the rest of their relatively short, miserable lives, in chains. No person is born into this class, it must be achieved through desired unemployment, or criminal activity. [Anything above petty theft [$20<x] will get you thrown into this.] [3-5% of Population]

EROT Civilian. A member of the civilian class whom has, due to economic bankruptcy, mental illness or abandonment by one's parents, been put under the custody of the state. They are virtually the property of the state, work for, are fed, clothed and housed by the government. One may work their way out of this class by either repaying the government whatever it is that the state may have spent on them, or by committing a crime, in which case, they move down. [8-12% of the population.]

Civilian. A member of the massive 'proletariat', though it is certainly not called such. These are the masses of rather unintelligent workers who get into work at 8, get out at 6, either go home, to the bar, or to the whore house, or maybe even to a back alley to play a game. They are simple. They are entertained by sporting events, sex, booze, food and TV. They will always have jobs. They will always have tolerable lives. They have no political rights, but as long as they do not act out, as they rarely do, the government will protect them and watch over them. They are in all reality, the backbone of the nation as they are the muscle of Kroando's industrial power. They can rarely read or write, have no education outside of what their parents have taught them, and are rather simple. [60%]

2nd Class Citzen. A Citizen is a member of society whom did one of two things. Most commonly they showed an aptitude for learning at a young age, and were put through one of the private institutions the nation hosts by one of the major Korporations due to their particular skill. Or they passed the qualification exam and are free to vote in all elections [few exist anyways]. They are also informed of developments civilians are left out on, and they are in general wealthier due to their holding high ranking jobs.

1st Class Citizen. A Citizen whom scored unusually high on their Citizenry Exam, and has earned this rank as a result. 1st Class Citizens are the lawyers, doctors, judges, scientists and brains of the nation. They have little more de jure power than 2nd Class Citizens, but in reality have more pull due to contacts and wealth.

The Elite. Upper Levels of Government and Military, as well as the tops of the Kroandon Korporations. There are only, nation wide, some 25,000 people in this unofficial ring.

Climate

Antarctika is an extremely cold continent located at the extreme southern pole of the globe. Summer temperatures reach a high of 35 degrees Fahrenheit, and a Winter low of -70, however year around winds that can get over 75mph ensure that anyone notices the 'summer warmth'. These winds, during the bitter winter months, create what are known as 'Death Storms', blowing chunks of ice and snow at such speeds as to kill a man if he is hit. These storm systems are usually coupled with falling snow, which is falling 250 days a year in some manner or another across the continent. 'Winter Bullets' as the soldiers call them, are razor sharp ice shards, varying in size from that of a dime to the size of a small car, often cut into a man at such velocity he will not know until passing out from blood loss. That is if he is not cut in half outright by a larger shard. These storm systems terrorize what is known as 'the wastes' for 8 months out of the year, and occasionally pop up in the other four months. These storms make it impossible to build roads on the surface connecting cities, as such massive amounts of snow are transferred that entire roads disappear between storms. Attempts at clearing the roads have always ended in total failure.

The ground is frozen tundra year round, the summer month of August, never long enough to do any real thawing of the ground [as it rarely peeks above freezing it wouldn't matter much anyways]. The tundra however is not visible, as it is packed under a thick ice sheet across the map, years of condensed snow and ice covering whatever rocky or dirt lay beneath. This ice sheet extends and thickens off the coast of the continent in every direction for an average of 75 miles - the average thickness hitting 30-35 meters. Needless to say it is impossible to plow through.

Kroandon wildlife is sparse, and extremely hostile. The only plants that survive are tucked deep within caves in the mountain ranges of the north west, where the majority of the flora and fauna reside. Small snow rabbits and squirrels live in the area, pursued by violent Kashatochs - a unique predator to Kroando. Kashatochs are a unique animal, averaging the size of a black bear they are extremely hostile, completely white, clawed and fanged - and extremely fast. In the early days of colonization Kashatochs were given their name by the Kroandons, the word meaning, 'White Terror'. Since the advent of gunpowder however, their population had been extremely limited.

The Megacities

Over six and a half billion people live on the Antarctikan continent [roughly the size of North America], and all live in one of the eight great megacities. The megacities vary in size, North Redon, the smallest at 400,000,000 residents, is a dense metropolis the size of main. Greater Malthus City at 1,300,000,000, even denser and the size of New York. The cities extend over a mile underground, with millions living in subterranean apartment complexes, and even more working under the surface - as all farming and agricultural growth is done in subterranean hexagon farms, which extend 1,000 kilometers deep and are half that in diameter. These farms are multi-layered and chalk full of fertilizers and growth hormones for the livestock. There also exist thousands of synthetic food manufacturing plants, which using chemicals create synthetic honey oat bars. Additionally the cities are walled off, completely by 80 meter high concrete-steel walls fixed with defenses - though their primary purpose is shelter against the winds and elements of the wastes. Skyscrapers fill the cities, smoke stacks are almost as common. Warmth, a major issue is taken care of by a number of factors. In addition to the normal warming due to automobiles, factories and buildings, there are heating rods that run under the streets, preventing freezing on the roads. There are also heating shelters blowing out hot air every two or three blocks for pedestrians to rest in. The city temperature is an average of 35-45 degrees, 15-20 in the winter months. Power is completely taken care of my the hundreds of subsurface nuclear power facilities, which are located nearly a mile under the surface. Needless to say it is quite fortunate that Antarctika has vast uranium deposits, as the country also imports massive amounts of the material. Water is harvested through massive desalization plants in Scolar, but primarily though water harvesting plants across the wastes and in the cities. These plants are manned by thousands of workers, tractors and torching centers, where snow is massed, melted and sent back to the cities via underground pipeline. Transportation is almost exclusively done via subway and metro rail transit, with tracks lining much of the surface, tracks above ground supported by steel support structures, and of course underground metro tunnels, many of which run right by subterranean apartment complexes. This is also the only connection between the cities - roughly fifty subterranean rail lines, each twelve rails wide, connect each city with the nearest two cities. Rarely do civilians travel from one city to another - the rail lines are almost exclusively for industrial use.

Kroandon Kapitalizm
Overview

Kroandon Kapitalizm is in the most general of terms, a capitalistic economy in which the government does not merely abide by a laissez-faire ideology, they take a hands on approach to back business. The only two areas completely funded and controlled by the Koalitionist Government are that of the military, and the Law and Order sector. [Actually incorrect, prisons are privitized]. There exist very few written laws regarding issues such as minimum wage, labor practices and organized labor unions. However there are certain incentives and competing intrests which push big business to pay adequate prices, the first being the fact that certain industries are controlled by the same 'Korporations' [Kroandon Word for large Coporations that dominate economies]. If the owner of the factory also owns the apartment complex that the worker lives in, he will not pay the worker so little that he cannot extract the rent from him.

Additionally, unlike in most countries, there is no large unemployed labor market from which companies may go to should they wish to lower their wages. The unemployed are sucked up by the government, and thrown into either the army, or forced labor. Furthermore Kroandon companies cannot outsource labor in mass quantities. The reason is simple. It is extremely expensive to ship goods from foriegn nations to Kroando [due to the 5,000 miles of separation and artic conditions to name a few], thus, the money saved in production would be spent ten fold in transportation.

However this is getting to specific. In general, the Korporations in Kroando are so powerful and their human resources so limited, it is actually in their intrest that the people be well enough off so that they may continue working at an maximum level. The Kroandon people work hard, and they are compensated for this work. It is however important to note that there are several non-Korporation controlled industries, which are moderately protected by the government. Small scale distributors, businesses and retailers exist merely because it would not be worth the economic output needed to harness them, and therefor, they constitute a small percentage of overall business. Additionally there are scores of medical and legal professionals who operate outside the control of the Korporations.

Raw Resources - Colonies and Developing Countries

Kroando is for the most part, situated on the island of Antartika in South Atlantic. Antartika initially had large coal, uranium and iron ore deposits. The coal and iron was quickly depleted, due to the vast requirements of the growing country in the construction of the eight MegaCities. The uranium however was not only underexploited, it was by far the most vast of the various resources. And it would turn out to be to the Kroandon's benefit, as nuclear power generates the entire country, with minimal exceptions for geothermal energy.

However needless to say, this leaves a massive need for foriegn materials. Not merely obvious goods such as lumber and coal, but simply material which they could use. Trash, garbage, shattered concrete, old tar, things which most the world takes for granted, actually holds value in Kroando. Korporations such as Junkers Korp. rake in billions every year simply by using their vast transportation fleets to pick up shit from around the world, and selling it to other companies inside Kroando.

Developing countries and Kroandon colonies are therefor extremely exploited for the good of the Antartikan MegaCities. Some economists call Kroandon Kapitalizm, 'Pirate Economics', for their policies of 'stealing' from foriegners for their own benefit. In a world where the ends always justify the means, Korporations rarely hesitate to install dictators into 3rd World Countries in order to procure mining rights and political slaves from which to harvest the resources. Forests are leveled, mass quantities of raw goods are purchased with promises of protection, and it is even said that cities are leveled simply so that the material it was made from can be taken to Kroando and remade.

Various Industries and their Korporate Controllers

HydroKorp. HydroKorp began as the sole provider of water in the country, making it one of the most powerful Korporations in the nation. They run over 1,475 'Ice Harvesting Plants' throughout Antartika, positioned in the areas of the country with the heaviest snowfall. That snowfall is harvested through massive tractors, torching facilities, men with shovels and various other means. The snow is melted en masse, millions of gallons an hour, and transported via subsurface-heated pipe to the cities. Additionally they pump millions of gallons directly out of the ocean, and push it through desalinization plants faster than any could believe. HydroKorp owns considerable housing, which they lease to their workers, whom only work 4 months a year, yet are housed for 12, and paid for 8. HydroKorp also controls the agricultural sub-terranean farming industry, which in effect, feeds 60% of the nation. [Employs roughly 20% of the workforce]

Helicon Korporation. One of the most high tech and influential Korporations in the nation, it controls all military technology and scientific research. Its cutting edge hardware and military software keeps it as one of the most vital in the Kroandon 'Empire', which requires ever developing military weaponry. It is also heavily involved in civilian computer and communications technology, being the private owner of most Kroandon Satellites, [military and civilian], as well as the producer of computer games, software, spyware, virus programs and anti-virus programs, and many more related fields. [Employs roughly 3% of nation]

The Junkers Konglomerate. The Junkers Korporation absorbed many other smaller rival companies, and now controls the importation of all foriegn goods. As most nations are simply too afraid to attempt shipping goods into Kroando, the Junkers Korp. not only harvests junk and garbage for sale at Kroandon markets, but it also acts as a middle man between Kroando and the rest of the world. It, for all intents and purposes, controls the importing of all goods. [Employs roughly 7% of workforce]

Honvorg Iron&Arms. Honvorg controls the production of steel, iron, tin, copper and all other sorts of processed metals. Conviniently they also contol the production of metal goods, including industrial machinery, automobiles, and all heavy weapons in the Kroandon Military. They are the largest purchasers of Junkers products, as they take in mass amounts of raw material and grind it up into something new. They also control the massive cement industry of Kroando, as well as various other 'heavy industry goods'. They also own a massive proportion of medium and low income housing, which are rented almost exclusively to their own workers. [Employs 45% of workforce

KEK / Kroandon Energy Konglomerate. KEK, as it has come to be called, controls the massive nuclear power plants below every city, as well as the geothermal energy plants scattered throughout the nation. While this is their main source of income, with the various Korporations, and even the government paying through the nose to keep KEK on it's feet, they also employ million in their recycling business, on which they have a government sponsered monopoly. The massive amount of recycled goods are made into burnable energy, which is sold and distributed throughout the nation. [5% of Workforce]

Labor Resources

As was stated earlier, it is financially unwise for any of the major Korporations to outsource labor to foriegn markets, simply because the transportation costs of moving the product back to Kroando would exceed the costs saved in labor. Additionally each of the companies is so influential in the nation, their outsourcing of labor would impact the nation so fiercely so as to inhibit the consumers ability to purchase these goods in the first place. Finally, it is very unlikely that the government would allow any significant amount of labor to be taken out of the country.

There is a mandatory labor law within Kroando, thus anyone not employed, it effectively a criminal. The Korporations have a government obligation to employ to their maximum capability, and should they not do so, will suffer reprocussions in the form of fines, penalities and executions. The government additionally employs millions more, providing small, but laborous jobs to civilians in exchange for housing and food. Those that are left [tens of millions], are thrown into forced labor camps, camps which harvet rock and ice, among other things. There is also considerable slave labor in Kroandon Colonial assets.

Another issue is that of child labor. It is infact somewhat common place, with the poorer elements of society often sending their children into the workforce. However where is becomes peculiar is in the realm of education. The government sets aside exactly two cents a year for education, simply so that the Lord Protector can legitimately say he donates funds. The educational sector is run by private schools. The most elite private institutions host about 10% of the nation's children. The sons and daughters of the Capitalists, the Stock Holders, the Lawyers, the Doctors, the Upper-Koalition Member's children... those who run the country go to such insitutions as UVike, Morgon University, and Kharne Univ. However 55% of the nation's child population [18 and under] is enrolled in school. These 45% are those whom are hand picked by other 'Intermediate' schooling institutions. These children are given admission to school, and allowed to learn, free of charge. But who pays for it? The parents usually would not be able to afford such education, the government gives nothing, and charities only educate a small religious minority. The Korporations fund these schools. They are well aware that without another generation of skilled workers, the future is doomed. So while the majority of children work, 45% go to school. And those 45% are the best the country has to offer.

Healthcare and Insurance is obviously not the concern of the government. It is however, the concern of the company. As has been made clear, it is in the best interest of the Korporations to maintain their workforce, to keep it healthy and operating. Thus, medical expenses are taken aboard by the Korporations, with many Korporate Medical Practices and Doctors throughout the nation. However the majority of health professionals are private operators. The Korporations simply cannot afford to have their workers sick, dying or not working properly. They are assets, yes, but they are well treated assets.

Brief History. Originally a portion of the Sawney Islands, only sparsely inhabited by roaming nomads in the Southern Desert, and native tribes in the northern jungles, Kroandon forces landed roughly nine years ago and colonized the area. Military occupation forced the native populace into Government-Run Labor Camps, paid only in food and shelter, they have mostly died off from Kroandon disease. Civilian influx has been moderate, with over 7,000,000 arriving since the colony was claimed. It now serves mainly as a resource farm. Via the Stagnate Wars, primarily against Vontanas, all Vantanian Claims in the Sawney Islands have been conquered and incorporated. There previously existed a large population of Vooku Dogs throughout the jungle. However as Kroandon's began growing an appetite for their meat, they promptly dissapeared.

Brief History. West Scotzdom was occupied during the Scotz Anarchy, a period in West Scotz History in which the entirety of New Scotland was tossed into chaos. Kroandon Occupation restored order, granted full Kroandon Civilianship [with opportunity for Citizenship] to the population, rebuilt the cities and provided jobs. The Scotz, though initially resistant, have now begun mixing with the immigrant population, and cooperate fairly well. Civilian influx has been moderate, with over 4,000,000 arriving since the colony was claimed. It now serves mainly as a resource farm.

Additional Notes. West Scotzdom hosts 8,000,000 non-Kroandon inhabitants, whom work mainly as miners, laborers or in one of the other various harvesting industries in the area. Brief History. Hexon was originally occupied 47 years after Antarctika was inhabited. It was empty when it was found due to unstable enivironmental conditions, indluding severe winds, lack of sunlight due to dust clouds, rocky surface and sulphuric air. It was however inhabited by over 200,000 Kroandons, whom over the years, became increasingly mutated. Eventually these mutations lead to 'Hexonian-Psychosis', a condition coined by Professor Morok, in which higher brain functions were destroyed, irritability is increased, and a tendency towards violence is established. After two dozen Kroandon Scientists [Non-Mutant] were murdered in Hexon for unknown reasons, the government occupied the island, and forced the population into concentration camps, killing off the entire populace in two months time. It is now re-inhabited by 6,000 miners, whom operate the machinery, but stay inside closed doors, and are always wearing chemical gear. This location produces massive amounts of raw uranium every month, crucial to Kroando due to Antarctika's dependence on the substance to power the Mega-Cities. It also serves as a missile-firing point, as any aircraft that comes near is assumed to be hostile, and is shot down.

Brief History. The native Undermonite were thoroughly bargained with during the takeover, a practice unusual in regards to Kroandon occupations. Promises of employment, development and an investment in infrastructure were made in addition to a oath to eliminate the indigenous natives of the marshlands. The Undermonite people were themselves colonists from the Eurasian nation of Undermon. The Undermonites number 62,000,000 at the time of the Kroandon takeover, the territory itself purchased from the Star Goat Trading Company, which held nominal fealty over the land. They were however, not alone. The Undermonites fled their homeland for this territory twelve years prior due to a raging civil war in their homeland miles away, and ever since their landing here, have been in a brutal conflict with the Indian tribes of their new home. Grand Marshal Kharne promised to destroy the natives, and develop the territory in exchange for their cooperation and loyalty. Four years later, Undermon prospered, and tens of thousands of ethnic Undermonites enlisted in the local reserves as Kroandon forces invaded Vantanian claims to the east. The Vantanian territory has been incorporated into the Undermon Dependency -the dependency exists with considerable self rule.

Brief History. Taken through the Treaty of Juventud after the Hexonian War, in which Mokastana intervened and supplied the Hexonian Rebels. Kroando then sent a naval flotilla to exact revenge, sinking the Mokastanan fleet off of Juventud, and bombarding the coast of the island. After this brief, decisive victory, Mokastana ceded the island to Kroando, along with a list of other concessions.

Additional Notes. Juventud is a major training location for Korvacht Soldiers. Due to the lack of jungle environment in Kroando, Juventud has been transformed into a giant training facility, with over 200,000 soldiers moving through every month. It is also a minor source of timber and granite.

Brief History. After the initial 5.0 Million Dollar Payment for exploration rights to the Royal Code Exploration group, the island was rapidly overtaken by mining groups under the direction of Junkers Inc. Koalitionist Forces were deployed to move the native population out of the land, except for those whom were to be enslaved in the various mines and lumber camps. A relatively ordinary colony, iron ore production is rather major, and thousand of tons of the mineral are shipped out every week back to Antarctika.

Before long, Calizorinstani violations of Kroandon claims lead to the full scale invasion of Calizorinstani Romania... after much conflict, a unofficial truce has been declared.

Brief History. The ancient homeland of the Kroandon people, abandoned over a thousand years ago to volcanic eruption and seismic activity. After over a thousand years of abandonment, Kroandon colonists retook the overgrown island, exploring the ruins and ancient cities of both the past Kroandons and their barbarian overlords. Pilgrimages are made to the ancient city of Kroando, which was cleared of the overgrowth and made into the holy city of the Koalition, with millions of upper-class Kroandons traveling here every year to see the statues of Kroando, to see the Cliffs of Retribution, to embrace their heritage. The island was rapidly inhabited by Kroandon immigrants, with tourist cities popping up everywhere, as well as suburban communities in a temperate climate considered a paradise by the standards of Antarctikan natives.

Brief History. Taken from Vontanas in the Great Stagnate Wars, the tropical colony was only briefly colonized before Kroandon occupation, leaving the Junkers Korporation to fight the natives of the island. This is now a well known home to pirates, mercenaries, slave traders and criminals. The Junkers Korporation runs the colony as a mine, leasing out docking rights to various pirate vessels, and housing wealthy criminals evading international law. Though officially under the control of Grand Marshal Velspar, on 500 of his men reside in Fort Beatro - he leases the colony to the Junkers Korp. for twenty million a year.

Brief History. Upon the Great Massacre during the riots in Helvot during the Human Order intervention, Grand Marshal Klague and his forces, responsible for the ten thousand deaths - were exiled from the Antarctikan Mainland - yet kept in full standing with the Koalition. Upon embarking, Klague picked out the first island that suited him, occupied it, enslaved the natives, and created a base of operations. It is now a major source of money laundering operations for international crime, slave trading port, and massive training ground for members of the Black Legion. The soldiers live off of Klague's funds, both from the government and other sources.

Part IV. Brief Background

12,000 H - The people of Kroando lived upon the Island of Haztolp, known for many years as 'Haztolps'. They are a great many warring tribes which do nothing but fight among themselves, realigning alliances to benefit themselves. No tribe ever becomes dominant, for as soon as they do, the others ally against them and tear them down.

5,721 H - 1,700 H - The Arvon Empire is founded, with a great Warlord, Valdor Arvon unifying the tribes. An age of prosperity and growth continues with much technological advancement and greatness emerging. In the latter years of the Empire, corruption and greed overwhelms the land, leaving it in a state of collapse as famine hits in the late 1700's. The League of Gods is hailed as the supreme force in the universe around 5,000 B.C.

1,700 H - 80 H. - The Arvon Empire crumbles under foriegn invasion, barbarian tribes infuse themselves into the island of Haztolp [Haztolp resembles Britain]. The barbarians divide Haztolp into many warring kingdoms, which fight amongst themselves for many years... the few independent Haztolp Kingdoms and Duchies refuse to work together to form a front against the invaders, and simply adjust to the new way of things. Centuries of warfare, short lived rebellions, and decades of slavery wear on. These nations evolve, with distinct differences remaining between the 'Haztolps' and their barbarian overlords. The races rarely mix due to a racial disgust each found in the other.

This is also known as the reign of the 'Kons'. The title Kon was created from the Kroandaron word for 'Knight', but in a different sense. A Kon was to be both loved and feared. The Kons controlled small portions of land, with serfs living under them, under the overall rule of the Kings. However there were many Kons whom acted independently, under no ones authority. The Kons offered protection, stability and unity against the barbarian kingdoms, but in return, demanded unquestionable loyalty. Their brutality was unmatched

80 H - 4 H Voldon Armistice Kroando, simply known now as 'Kroando' emerges as a Nationalist Revolutionary, creating an army of thousands in one of the smaller still Barbarian-Controlled States. His revolution grows for years, as the 'Great Revolution' drags on, costing millions of lives. Over time the people no longer identify themselves as Haztolps, for Haztolp is controlled by barbarians, but as Kroandons. Kroando emerges victorious after over fourty years of war, and purges the nation of all barbarian peoples, as well as mixed peoples. Over sixty million die, usually by being loaded onto boats, tied to weights, and thrown in the ocean. This symbollic genocide was performed mainly due to Kroando's promise to 'Drive the Barbarians back into the ocean from wence they came'. However after only three months of rule, Kroando was killed by an assassin working for one of the deposed barbarians, and all hell came upon the world. His one and only son Radamir vanished days after being crowned Emporer.

1 H The Island of Halzkop was sunk under a series of catostrophic earth quakes and volcanic erruptions. The island was literally submerged, as over 5,000,000 Kroandons fled the island, searching for a new home.

3 A.H - 1080 A.H. Antartika is found, Scolar is built. Over the next several centuries more cities are founded and constructed. Despite their conditions, the population expands without comparison. The Kroandon Dynasty ends as Radamir is not found. The people create a monarch like system under the 'Lord Protector' - whom is sworn to find the link to the Kroandon Dynasty, believed to have died with Radamir. In 1990, after the near completion of all eight Mega Cities, the most recent and arguably greatest Lord Protector Malthus vanishes after promising to find the heir to Kroando. His expedition into the wastes of Antarctika seems disastrous, as he does not return. The Grand Marshals appoints his adviser and number two man, Grand Marshal Oron Heroma 'President'.

1080 - 1100 A.H. After months of tyrannical, inefficient rule by Heroma, the Human Order under the lead of Hector V. Davis takes control in a strong armed revolutionary coup. Fighting lasts mere months as the people flock to the Human Order's causes. Imperial Union of Terra is founded with the intention to unify Kroando with a massive global superstate.

1108 A.H. Lord Protector Malthus returns from his search for the heir to the throne, without any sucess. The people immediately reposition him into his former office, with Davis, a European by ethnicity, grudgingly stepping down to the position of Commissar, which serves a mainly administrative role.

1010 A.H. - 1020 A.H. With mineral resources in Antarctika dwindling, Malthus orders the Grand Marshals to procure a number of overseas colonies to supply the nations appetite for raw resources. Over seven territories are taken within the year. However the resources seem to not come in quick enough, leading to the Great Stagnation, in which Kroandon Korporations cut production due to the lack of resources, laying off over a billion workers. Starvation, production and inflation all become serious problems as Kroando dives into it's coffers to pay for massive amounts of imports to sustain it's dying self. The Stagnate Wars begin, with consecutive invasions of the Vantanian Empire's Colonial Empire and Logan and Ky, along with various colonizations and expeditions into various continents around the world.

1020 A.H. - 1030 A.H. With massive imperial expeditions underway, untold amounts of raw resources were imported to the Antarctikan mainland as a result of conquest and slave labor.

List of Wars and Modern Conflicts

Hexonian War. Originally a Concentration-Operation, in which the Mutated-Phsycotic Population of Hexon were to be eliminated, it spiralled into a Multi-National Operation to stop the Kroandon Mission. With Mokastana, VDB, The Darkstalkers, Cazelia among others attempting to stop the Kroandon operation, the one time ally of Kroando, Leafanistan, also took part in the operation. After defeating several small aerial strikes on the island by the offending forces, Kroando took vengence upon those whom participated in the attack. Mokastana was attacked, a fleet sunk, trillions of dollars lost, and Juventud transfered. Cazelia was also attacked as a part of the British Londinian invasion, in which Kroandon Forces simply looted Yarakai City, stealing millions in gold bullion.

Salaki Swamp Wars. The Salaki Tribes in Undermon were armed by various foriegn companies which saught to control the territory. Granting them thousand of assault rifles, ammunition, explosives and small arms, the Ardesh Tribes made a determined effort to retain their land. The Salaki Swamplands provided a large natural obstacle, and the Combined Native-Mercenary Force provided more than a challenge for the KroKore Legionnaires undertaking the invasion. After months of bitter fighting, aerial strikes and naval bombardment, the swamplands were little more than burning mush... and the remaining tribes were rounded up and enslaved.

The Stagnate Wars. The Stagnate Wars against the Vatanian Empire, Logan and Ky, the Binarian Empire and numerous other foes ended in victory, a number of colonial possessions being transferred to the Koalition's control, and the Great Stagnation coming largely to a halt as employment skyrocketed as did exports of goods. The expanded empire now sits at the edge of a new era as Malthus has sworn to strengthen the state beyond any past expectations - and to find the heir to the throne.

Part V. The Ideology

Kroandons are an angry, hardworking, cynical people. They hate most nations due to the lands they possess. They feel cursed, bewitched, tricked and oppressed. They are cold. Literally and metaphorically. Kroandon people do not believe in equality as most think of it. They believe that all people are born with an equal chance, however those whom persevere and make something of themselves are greater than those who fail, or do not try. The sucessful are seen as superior, mentally, physically and spiritually. Voting is therefor limited to those whom can pass a standardized test, covering basic reading and writing skills, and a comprehensive understanding of the political system and the issues being discussed. Roughly 40% of the population bothers to take this test, less than half of those end up passing, yielding a total of 19% population voter base. 'Demokratic' ideals are rarely discussed, as Kroando is 'Demokratic'. If you complain about not being able to vote, this would indicate that you were unable to pass the test, and are promptly labeled as a retard, failure, complainer, heathen and sloth. The masses are viewed as ignorant... yet very few consider themselves 'of the masses'. Those whom are in the mass, and are quite unintelligent, will hide this fact by claiming they passed the test and voted for their local representatives.

The Medieval Emporer, Valden Armistice Kroando - a Demigod to the people, a Christ figure in history. The position of Lord Protector exists only to protect the vacant throne of Kroando, a position which the people truly believe will one day be filled.

Religious Doctrine.

The Kroandon Religious doctrine comes from the ancient Pagan Beliefs of the Haztolps, the Kroandons long lost predacessors from the Sunken Isle of Haztolp. Thousands of years ago there were twelve Gods, each equally important and powerful, worshipped by the Haztolp society, depended upon for all of lifes needs and wants. The original twelve Gods were those of Fertility, Health, the Harvest, Justice, Intelligence, War, Death, Life, Innovation, Disease, Natural Disasters (including the weather at large) and Humor. These twelve Gods were all worshipped and loved, the Haztolps living in both fear and anticipation of their desires.

However with the decline of the Avron Empire, all was left to chaos. The Barbarian Invaders brought with them their own pagan Gods, and the era of war slowly but surely moved the Haztolps away from their loyalty to the League of Gods, to Devcor, Horus and Bernok. Devcor was the God of Death. Horus the God of War. Bernok the God of Disease. Death, War, Disease. These three words were what the Haztolps feared, loved and craved. It scarred their homes and families, and it destroyed their enemies. The Dark Priests of these three Gods became powerful beyond all measure, at times controlling the Kingdoms during the Dark Ages. After Kroando's Revolution, and the move to Antarctika, religion took on a less dominant role in society, with the 'Three Gods' coming with them to the new world. However never again would religion, nor the Dark Priests hold such power in society, as much of Kroando is atheistic, agonostic or religiously apathetic at best. The three Temples in the 'Holy City' of Khartoum are the pillars of Kroandon Religion, with thousands of Dark Priests living in the quarters.

Government

The Government Operates on two levels. The National Government, and the Local Governments. The former is rather isolated from public opinion, controlled by the Grand Marshall's and the Lord Protector, as well as their appointed Marshall-Magistrates, whom act as governors. They control practically anything it is they want, however usually limit themselves to international and economic issues. The Lord Protector is a life time position with no clear definition. He is simply to 'Preserve the Koalition until the time that Kroando returns', and is given 'all necessary powers' to do so. The Grand Marshalls are the ultra-powerful governor generals which control territory, vast military forces and much support.

The Local Governments are elected by the voter base [33% of population], and control various city affairs. Positions such as Mayor [actually major position due to cities being size of nations], City Council, District Council, and City Representatives. As the eight cities make up the majority of life in Antarctika, the City Council's and Mayors are vastly important. As thousands of City Councilmen and Women are members of these delegations, they rarely vote on city-wide issues, but on 'District Issues', as each city is broken into hundreds of districts. Each Councilman has considerable administrative powers on his own, appointing hundreds of employees to work directly under him in administration. Voter Classifications and Qualifications can be seen in the first post. Only those people with Citizen Status and above are qualified to vote.

Part VI. Military Overview

Overall Kroandon Defenses - Antartika

Kroando's first line of defense is the land it lies on. Antartika is a horridly cold place, a place with temperatures of around -20 degrees F, which can drop to as low as -70 F during a blizzard. This advantage is clear in of itself. Kroando exists only in the eight MegaCities, and in order to move from one to the other, one must travel across hundreds of miles of subarctic temperatures, with intense snow fall, deadly winds and 'arctik bullets'. Arctik Bullets were what the Kroandon Army came to call the chunks of razor sharp ice that were thrown around in the 70mph winds, chunks of ice sometimes as large as men, other times no bigger than a dime. But either way, they were known to often times cut right through a man without him ever knowing. He would simply black out some time later, and die of blood loss.

Moving an army from one city to the other would be an immpossible task. As the mere conditions men would need to move through were but the tip of the ice berg. Freezing water and food supplies, frost bite, random blizzards and snow storms that could bury cities, were but the tip of the ice berg... no pun intended. If an invading army could simply not freeze, they would still contend with much more. Aerial forces were not to be used with impunity, as weather systems often hit with winds that would tear buildings apart, not to mention the thickness of these clouds, as they were filled with ice. Cloud systems also commonly obscure cities, so as to impede orbital or high altitude bombing.

Yet another natural obstacle one must take into consideration is the 70km's of ice shelf which extends in all directions. Over thirty meters thick, it is not to be simply plowed through by any ship, and should be considered a serious obstacle to any naval landing. The Kroandon Defensive Network, long fearful of naval landing, have placed sub-nuclear bombs every 50-100 miles along this ice shelf, which are remote controlled, and may be remote detonated at a moments notice [they are inside the ice shelf actually]. Knowledge of these bombs does not go beyond the Grand Marshals and Lord Protector himself. Should anyone land on the ice shelf and attempt to walk across... problems would arise. Furthermore, there are scattered thousands of naval mines surrounding Antartika, each DG-2s. The only 'safe way' in is through a designated shipping lane known only to Kroandon shipping and specified foreign vessels. Adding to the effect of the mines come the ice bergs, which though made of water, cannot be underestimated.

The defenses continue, with thousands of Anti-LandingSubsurface Missile Batteries being positioned along the coast line. [84km's inland, including 70km's of ice shelf] These missile batteries consist of over 75 LACI Launcher Systems Each, as well as 50 SDCI Systems, as well as twenty Devcor launching pads and Valor Anti-Shipping Missile units. Additionally, there are twenty five retractable 30mm CIWS Guns, RADAR/LADAR Stations, and Anti-Shipping Missile Launchers. The best part? Their invisibility, as these are positioned well underground. The RADAR they work off of initially is positioned five miles away, the secondary RADAR/LADAR system to be switched on should the first be destroyed. Additionally there are gun emplacements every fifty miles or so... five guns... each 930mm Rail Guns.

KODS - Kroandon Orbital Defense System

There are multiple lines of defense that Kroandon Military Doctrine employs against nuclear warfare, particularly in the ballistic missile sense of things. Due to the massive threat such sort of war poses to any nation, especially one in which 99% of the population lives in 8 cities, KroKore Doctrine insists that the 'shield' be, impenetrable.

1. First Line - Orbit-to-Air Nuclear Interceptor Missiles. Of the 480 Kroandon Satellites in space, 410 were designated, at least partially, as Anti-Ballistic Missile Satellites. Each of these were armed with six LACI Nuclear Interceptor Missiles, with a range of roughly 850 miles. The LACI Nuclear Variant contained a 200kiloton warhead (can be replaced with EMP warhead), and was designed especially for the role it was filling. When Kroandon infared, RADAR, LADAR, and visual imagery picked up the launch of enemy ballistic missiles, this information was immediately transfered, via the Helicon Battle Control System, to the missiles. Target range, detonation sequences, firing trajectory was all taken into account, and when the enemy missiles reached a point near their peak, the LACI's would be detonating directly next to them. So in a wave of 200 missiles, a single 200kiloton nuclear LACI may knock out 150, if not all of them. Not merely with it's explosive power, but also with the massive EMP's and shock waves emitted. Between the 320 satellites, there were an estimated 1,400 Nuclear LACI's in orbit at any one time.

2. Second Line - Brilliant Pebbles. Whatever ICBMs made it through the nuclear shield provided by the LACI's, now had to deal with thousands upon thousands of watermelon sized kinetic penetrator missiles with the latest in targeting technology. Between the 320 satellites, there were roughly 5,000 pebbles which could be deployed at any one time. Additionally, there were at any one time, another 4,000 simply in their own, dormant orbit, to be activated at a moments notice. These brilliant pebbles are capable of knocking out swaths of missiles... especially capable of knocking out stray missiles that make it through the nuclear shield created by the LACI's.

3. Third Line - High Altitude Bombers. At any one time, there are five high altitude bombers patroling the skies high, high above Kroando [75,000ft]. These bombers are laden with massive EMP ordanance. Their purpose? To commit suicide. Should a ballistic missile complete it's peak and turn down towards earth, they will inevitably have to fly within one of the 'kill radius' of these bombers. As the nukes fall, they will be wiped out in a massive EMP wave, or simply blown away in the shockwave. The explosions will be far enough away from Antarctika so as to avoid damage to the cities.

4. Fourth Line - Surface-to-Air Missile Batteries. Across Kroando, there are hundreds upon hundreds of SAM Missile Batteries, each possessing over sixty five ready to fire missiles. Be they SDCI's [Medium Range 50miles or so] or LACI's [Long Range over 450miles], these weapons can be fired en masse into the air at the nuclear weapons falling at them in the sky above. Though it is unlikely they will actually be able to hit and disable the ballisitc missiles, there are many of these that are nuclear tipped, thus even getting close to the enemy missiles will be enough to knock them out of the sky. There are over 25,000 missiles ready to fire across the continent at any one time.

5. Fifth Line - Scrambeling Halcon Fighters. Armed with LACI Nuclear Interceptors [a warhead of some 25 kilotons], Halcon's typically patrol the air, at any one time, there are over 25 in the air. When the missiles are coming down, attempting to impact with the earth, they will be fired on by dozens of these LACI missiles. [Each Halcon carrying two - 50 in all without reinforcement aircraft]. Though it is near immpossible to knock out a missile moving at such speeds, it is not immpossible to approximate and calculate it's rough position. The LACI would thus be fired into a general area, and detonated, its 25 kiloton warhead being enough to obliterate any missile within miles.

6. Sixth Line - Ground Based Chemical Lasers. In each city there are roughly twenty five massive chemical lasers, positioned in subsurface protection facilities. When any nuclear launch is detected, the lasers are hoisted to the surface, and directed at the sky. Though requiring massive amounts of power to be effective, this is not very difficult. The vast majority of the city is promptly shut down, and the hundreds of nuclear generators, formerly powering a city the size of Pennsylvania, now power twenty five lasers. They are estimated to be able to shoot down roughly 35 missiles, should they be called into action.

7. Seventh Line - EMP. There exist in each MegaCity, four massive EMP weapons. They are powered by the city's nuclear generators, and are a last resort weapon. Should a missile come within range of the EMP blast, the weapon is triggered, disabeling the missile before it is fired. Additionally, the weapon is linked to the nuclear generator control grid... which shuts down all electronics in the city before it is deployed, saving most of the electronics in the nation from destruction. Additionally, there are massive power breakers throughout the city, as well as on each building, home and most electronic appliances, meant to take the brunt of the electronic surge. This however is a last resort.

8. Eighth Line - Subsurface Nuclear Bunkers. Though not dubbed 'nuclear bunkers', the cities extend under ground for thousands of feet, in some parts, as deep as a mile or two. Simply going down into these subsurface farms, apartments, tunnels, bunkers and warehouses will save massive amounts of life should a nuclear weapon detonate on the surface.

They are full time warriors, on duty constantly, always training for war. They are extremely well trained by most standards, in combat, military doctrine, tactics... unmatched. Only full bred Kroandons may become Legionnaires. They have the greatest equipment, impeccable training, and are raised from young ages to do one thing. Kill.

**The Dolmot is the Kroandon reserve force, made up of mostly formerly unemployed men and other part time soldiers. They train roughly forty five days of the year, training 24/7 during wartime [when activated]. There are several unique units consisting only of ethnic specific units. The Scotz Guard, the Undermonite Legion, the Tiberian Defense Force to name but a few. There are others, such as 'Golgogs Million' - which are mixed regiments which have earned reputations abroad. They are equipped with Kevlar Bullet-Proof Vests, KAK's [Kroandon AK-47's - altered to fire Kroandon munitions], and military fatigues. They make up the bulwark of Kroandon invasions, and military presence, being much cheaper and expendable than the Legionnaires.
