This is a sign up thread for a survival horror roleplay.

The year is 2009 and most of mankind has been wiped out by a disease created as a cure for an illness that had began to infect millions worldwid, unfortunately the cure had the opposite effect and soon those who were suffering from the virus began to change, their bodies became fragile but they became stronger, they began to decay as it were, they became every nightmare from a hollywood b-movie

The rp takes place in the united kingdom and centers around a small fortified former industrial site known to the inhabitants as Haven

The rp will focus on the inhabitants and outside forces

im hoping to make this thread a deep involving storyline with plenty of room for people to create their own backstories and help develop a world that is engaging as opposed to a lot of the horror zombie threads

Are these guys like the Ganados in RE4?

well the virus affects them and begins to kill them from the inside out but their base primal instincts take over, they retain knowledge of former lives and skills but as the disease takes whole it begins to break down the basic functions of the infected causing them to shut down or to walk as the undead

so rlytheir a mixture of ganados and old resident evil zombies

Name: Captain Matthew Price
Age: 24

Date of Birth: 25/9/85

Biography: Matthew Price joined the Army after leaving University, after attending Sandhurst he joined The 1st Battalion, The Rifles. He spent his first 6 months in Afghanistan and then stayed for another 6 months when his Battalion returned to Chepstow. He worked with the Afghan National Army as an advisor and returned to England when the ISAF was withdrawn due to the spread of infection. He was promoted on his return to Chepstow and became the Executive Officer of ‘B’ Coy.

He was deployed to Bristol as part of the quarantine cordon around the city and was an integral part of the May Day Massacres. When his own men started to fall sick he led them away from the outskirts of Bristol where he occupied and fortified a village where he has remained ever since.

short biography: He was born in Compton California but his parents moved from California to Song Shan, China were he lived with his grandfather at a Shaolin monatesy where he was trained and Several Martial Arts. Eventually his parents moved from Song Shan, China with his grandfather to New york city. Where he begin to play football and other sports after three years of playing. The Virus broke out he and his parents and grandfather escaped to United Kingdom to the Haven fortress

weaknesses: is haunted by the tragedy of losing his family and being the one who had to put them out of their misery
short biography: born into a working class family, Antilles and his friends quickly banded together and seized control of a former indutrial site known to many now as Haven, a thinker not a fighter, Antilles has been developing a suit to allow humans to walk amongst the infected and not fallprey to them if bitten

strengths: both are physically strong and powerful and althought their sheer brute force hides this, their intelligence is rather high
weaknesses:tend to fight alone instead of a unit and can cause sever risk to other Havenites despite their high success rate
short biography: born sometime in the eighties, the two brothers grim or THE TEN TON HAMMERS were left homeless by the quarantine in dundee where the city was burnt to stop the infection spreading, they caught news of small colonies in the south but each one they arrived at was burnt or destroyed by the remnant army or infected, eventually alongside their small group of survivors they came to haven to help rebuild what was left but also realised this was their last stop.

Short biography: Born in a poor family in East Germany, he managed to flee to Britain, where he earned his living as a burglar and car thief. At the outbreak of the Virus, he managed to flee to Haven.

By military remnant do you mean command and control elements were still in effect?

I assumed that had been destroyed, can you tell me what the current situation of the remnant is? So I can fit my character into it.

As far as the remnant are concerned their remaining forces are a mixture of soldiers who survived the initial outbreak and volunteers who want to fight back against the mindless hordes of infected that roam the UK.

Many high ranking soldiers and military elite were slaughtered by infected hordes when London became a battle zone between the infected, the army and street gangs who saw a chance to make a name for themselves

Military leadership has been switched from the old to the young as the remnant look to cleanse the country..by any means and in their own vision restore the Uk to its former glory as a world power.

many of the soldiers who fight now in the remnant are soldiers formerly stationed outside of the Uk who were called back to resolve what many belived was a civil unrest bordering on civil war but soon many of them came to realise that they were fighting an enemy that seem undefeatable and a large percentage of the military was overrun and killed, many of them became infected.

as a result the military has initiated a plan to reclaim the isles back and will not let anyone stop them otherwise, they currently take orders froma secure miliray base known only as Bastion. its location is unknown

Seize power its basically going to be a street gang like bloodz and Cripz

name: Kenneth MacIntyre

date of birth: November 21st, 1982
skills: Vast intellectual skills, pilot, survival skills, great tolerance for the cold.
strengths: Metally Adept, good with a rifle, knows multiple languages.
weaknesses: Low upper body strength, can't smell, low tolerance for hot weather, sucks at hand-to-hand combat.
short biography: Born in Vancouver, Attended Reading University, but found himself in much debt after leaving. MacIntyre fled back to Canada, and slipped through many careers, including the clergy and professional hunting. When the plague stuck, his entire family, including his newly-wed bride, were infected and killed. For whatever reason, he escaped infection, and, after the collapse of civilization, led a group of survivors to sanctuary in the Rocky Mountains. The disease struck the fledgling colony, leaving only 3 alive, including MacIntyre. The 3 relocated to a small lake in the Appalachian Mountains.

Reason for coming to Haven: He comes to try and contact the larger Haven colony, because his band of survivors is running out of food.

just need a few more people before we can begin but this is beginning to look good.

Basic plot outline, the virus began in the UK and The US before quickly spreading amongst the human population, more than 85% of the earth's population is known to be infected with the disease and all attempts at reversing the condition have met with hideous failures, several colonies exist acros the world and some of them are on the verge of collapsing whilst others flourish. the most well known of these is Haven, a colony that is outgrowing its walls and is a hub for many survivors butis also a target for many infected who are attracted by the scent of the humans who remain uninfected.

Survivors from across many countries now reside in Haven but the bigger the colony gets the more danger it is in and now a fight for survival begins. on one side the armed forces of the United Kingdom military remnant, another side the survivors who seek power and glory whilst the biggets threat, the living dead, those who would feast on the flesh of the survivors.


former world powers reduced to the dark ages within a year, who knows who will this war and what the aftermath will be..only time will tell, for now Haven is leading the fight

Whats the time scale between the outbreak and where we're currently at by the way?

virus was created as a a cure for an unnaimed disease and was tested in february 2008 but soon mutated and it has been a year and a half nearly since the first outbreak in February 2008

we are now in early June 2009
