General Hagan was probably the worst leader that the Zansk nation had seen. He had taken power in a bloodless coup after an Imperial Socialist insurgency in the neighbouring nation Mhoudia had bled over.He had payed the division he ordered 3 billion Gurkas (Zansk money) to take down the democratically elected president, Veran Atanah.

Atanah was exiled to Wagdog.

After just a year in power, Hagan had not only got the nation into a blockade and Standoff with UFAN by accusing them of espionage, but had began a politicide. More than six million Zansk Liberalists, Communists, Intelectuals, and Homosexuals had been tortured and killed. When suddenly, In the northern city of Paramus, a revolution began.

Under the leadership of Pablo Azani, riots had weakened Hagan's Prescence in the area. All 6 military police stations in what was nicknamed 'The Great Slum' had been destroyed. Azani coined the name for this as 'The Fury'.
Hagan had sent 5000 soldiers to reclaim the city, which came back under the iron fist of Hagan after six days of bitter fighting. A writer in the city, who was later executed, remarked: "I saw about a hundred bodies lying in the main street. Their crimson blood clashed with the dark brown mud that lay on the city floor. There were five year old boys, still clinging on to their mothers shoulders. There were even hounds and cats in this open grave."

In a violent crackdown, Hagan executed more than five hundred rioters-publicly. But Azani was no where to be seen.

---TODAY---

It was Soldier's day. Five million people had crowded in Moxim Road, in the capital Xanka, to witness Hagans speech. But none of them were prepared for what was ahead.

Hagan had just started to speak when someone started shouting in the crowd.
"When, two years ago,"Said Hagan, "We shook off the influence of the UFAN..."
The shouting had passed on to many people round Hagan's pedestal. It was clear, they were shouting "Azani, Azani...".
Hagan continued
"...Those wretched commie bastards thought they could just blockade us and that would be it..."
The crowd had began to surge.
A shot was fired, and a civillian fell dead.
The chanting stopped for one deadly second of what could only be described as "What the Fuck?", and the crowd began to attack the soldiers that guarded Hagan.

Hagan tried to run into a tank, but the rioters had already hijacked it. A crowd surrounded him. They began punching him, and he cowered while a stolen bayonet was pushed into his ribs. Blood spurted out and he coughed his last cough.
A man in a balaclava shot into the air.
"This is the property of Pablo Azani." He said calmly.
A flagpole with Azani's portrait was hoisted up where the coat of arms of Zanski had been.

The revolution had begun.

The People's army had been alerted by the radar system that fringed on the coast of Zanski, picking up about 70 planes. Brought to the rescue were about ten anti-air artilleries and 20 anti-air turrets, with sniper scopes.Fifty ultrasonic fighter planes equipped with heat-seeking missiles were also sent out.

The following message was sent to the Osterstattian planes:

Stop where you are and turn around. It would not be wise to attack a nation so much bigger than you. If you do not turn round, we have made a plan to colonise you- we have even thought of a Zanskicised name for this future colony...Azaranistan.

We are happy to hear about your revolution. As to those invaders, we condemn them deeply, and we will give you any military support you may require.

OOC:Osterstatt that is pretty agressive, and considering your possibilities of victory: zero. Zanski is outrageously larger nation than yours, and his GDP is dozens of times larger than yours, not speaking about the defence budget... [ He is invading during a coup. Do not assume that standard rules of conventional warfare apply here. For example, had America invaded the USSR in August of 91, it would have crumbled. There would have been chaos from a lack of centralized control and communications, and the nodes that did exist and function would have been crammed full with chaos.

Same here.

As for Osterstatt, direct military intervention is not your only option. Think Afghan Civil War, and in particular how Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and (really, most importantly) the US indirectly handled fighting the Soviets in 79–88. ]

I'd support the democratic revolution, but commies aren't favourites of mine.

Bah! It's only the government people are revolting against. The military is a completely different story, amirite? The revolution is so small (despite having successfully decapitated leadership) that my uber massive army, which is capable of coordinating itself perfectly in the absence of any generals, only has to devote a small part of itself to cleaning up -- like 1 million soldiers and 74918 tanks! I still have 99481 planes and 8678 ships free to attack enemies, plus a strategic missile defense system and omg nooks!

OOC: Personally I didn't see the problem with osterstatt's post, it was aggressive yes, but it was his first post, Zanski and bulrovia didn't seem to receive him all too well. Personally I might throw my lot in with the commies, but that's to be decided. As for osterstatt, I didn't really see the problem with his supporting the non-commies.

As I understand it, the executive power was part of the military, and probably controlled the legislature as well. With the central unifying figure gone, order goes poof.

All across Zanski the army had mutinied and the pro-Hagan generals were brutally struck down by their own troops.
The Revolution had, indeed, succeeded.

Plaza de Paramus, Paramus, Northern Peninsulas State, Zanski

The crowd waited anxiously for the first sighting of their leader since the Paramus riots. There was a variety of flags; Ones with Azani's face on, Red flags, Flags of Zanski, and flags with Azani's slogans on them. in total, Two million people swelled this space. Azani was definitely behind this coup, as his Red-coated guards patrolled the crowd, searching bags, checking if women were actually pregnant or if it was a suicide bomb, ect.

Suddenly he came on the stage, wearing his humble shirt and jeans-Azani was truly a leader of his people.
"People of Paramus," He shouted, and smiled as horns blared and people cheered,"Today is a day of unification-I will treat all people in this nation the same, as friends, as family. We hope that today I may be able to solve the Zanski Crisis and free our nation from the hands of foreigners. This will be done by giving complete autonomy to the Gharrakan* people and the complete withdrawal of the Zansk army from Gharrakan areas. I will leave the Gharrakan National Guard in power- this will, however be restricted by a unified economy and no border crossings, Freedom of travel, settlement and de jure unification. People of Zanski, I leave you now to solve important issues."

The crowd roared and he left the stage.

*The Gharrakans are the ethnic group that lived in what is now Zanski before Colonialists- the Zansk- invaded. they live in the southern state of Tumad mostly now, due to past ethnic cleansing and make up 20% of Zanski's population.

Well, what did Osterstatt say?

OOC: something about is oberfuhrer chancellor or something, actual military-wise? he was in the process of sending in, what was it? 3,000 paratroopers I think to reayd a landing zone or something for his army.

OOC: He wanted to invade with his puny army and topple a very strong mmovement, which, if succeeded, would have reuled in mass insurgency and great losses.
He sent in cargo planes with 40,000 Paratroopers.

But Osterstatt, even when posting his first, should know the rules and that if he would have said he succeeded in the invasion he would have godmodded (he didn´t, but I wanted to prevent that.) Osterstatt is welcomed to the forums, and as a tip it is not a good idea to attack a massive nation without strong allies, but try to prevent eg. revolution by diplomacy ;) And he surely would have got allies against Zanski over time.

Zanski would be happy to establish a new diplomatic mission with Burlovia.
We have a free building in Ghollomo (where most of our embassies are), the richest city in Zanski. We have named our ambassador as one Tyan Redual.
Maybe you could help the farmers in the southern State of Tumad to irrigate their farming. This would help reboost the economy.
