Furia Prime enters the scene (FT, Open)

IC:
Nobody knew for sure who the initial ancestors were, only that they were human. Maybe a group of colonizers, given up for lost, who found a habitable planet. No one knew. Either way, Furians weren't your regular humans. Living on a planet with constant twilight (due to atmospheric conditions and planet location) had affected their sight, and although most Furians probably didn't know what the term meant, they could be considered "psychers". Their body-mass had augmented during the years, and so had their life-span, but apart from that they were "normal" humans. They were a somewhat closed society, which inhabited a planet located in an outer-rim sector of the galaxy. Since the Necromongers nearly succeeded in massacring their ancestors several thousand years ago, they never again revealed the exact location of their homeworld. Only one Furian planet was known to outsiders. It's name was Exardia, a small planet on the outscirts of the galaxy core, used mainly for trade. Here diplomats could come to discuss various issues. In other words, it was the Furians "face outwards". Currently they had no alliances, but with rumours of the Galactic Empire gaining ground, they were starting to get restless. Would their very existens soon be threatened? Again? Only time would tell... Furians were known for having an unbending will, rather dying on their feet than living on their knees, as some would put it. But, the leadership needed likeminded allies, if it was to secure the Furians future safety... otherwise they might well face another war of extinction. So many questions, and so little answers, these were truly turbulent times to live in...

OOC:
This thread is for diplomatic activity only. If you want to wage war, send me a TG and maybe I can arrange something... otherwise, anyone who is interested can RP a diplomat arriving in Exardia system, even members of the GE are welcome, should it come to that... But no fleets barging in and starting a shootout please...

Edit: Also note that while my race is loosely based on inspiration from the Chronicles of Riddick, I'd appreciate it if my nation was considered as a "species in itself", independent of the movies... makes things so much simpler...

“Sire, here is the report you requested.”

Nhur-Galladu looked up from the readouts depicting the status of his fleets in the ongoing war against the Coredians. As part of the Lords of Chaos, he was participating in their Black Crusade against Daniel and his nation due to a series of really bad mistakes the nation had made recently. IT was almost as if the late Emperor had lost all sense of reality and was succumbing to madness.

The Warlord glanced at the readings taken by a distant probe of an area the locals called, let’s see, Exardia. According to survey readings, the sensors detected a majority of the population was Class D minds with possibility of some Class C sprinkled about. If this was true, perhaps they would be good candidates for the Ta’Nar Uplift Program. If they accepted the eugenics program designed to evolve their natural talents along with several genetic modifications, it might be possible to move their general classification to Class C. There was even a distinct possibility to cause them to evolve to Class B minds by becoming pure minds like the humans and AI they elevated to Childer many centuries ago.

Nhur-Galladu considered who to send to investigate and decided this needed a woman’s touch. He would send Morganna. After making several notations and sending off his orders, the Warlord turned his attention back to the details going on at Jurai trusting Morganna to take care of the details.

About an hour later, space was torn apart as a wormhole formed. A thin silvery needle shot from within the maw before the beast collapsed upon itself and disappeared. The Stiletto Shuttle turned to get it’s bearings and started for the distant planet.

Greetings

I am Advisor Morganna Aarisbane. I have been sent here to initiate discussions with your people on behalf of my Liege.

Upon what vector may I approach?

All scans would show the vessel was simply a shuttle with the only weapon a simple laser used for navigational hazards. It would never make it through even a civilian shield or armor. It was the type used to convince space debris to move out of the way.

Exardia

Inside the Ground Control Tower the lights were dim. Very dim. If a normal human had walked down the corridor he would probably have found it a little too dim, and yet conversations could be heard between passerbys as if this didn't affect them. Which it didn't. Somewhere in the dim darkness a conversation could be heard: "Hey Raddix, how are you? I assume you will be coming to the reception our lady has graced us with tonight..." an elderly voice said. "Heck no!" a younger one responded. "First they give me guard duty for insubordination, and then I'm supposed to show up at some party and kiss their hands? You gotta be kidding..." The elderly voice spoke again, somewhat amused, "Well, I can understand your feelings, being the son of our HighLord and all, and I really don't agree with their decision, but then, being our future leader, I'm sure their just trying to make sure you know how to serve, before you learn how to lead... besides, guard duty isn't THAT bad..." the conversation trailed off. A few moments later, Raddix entered the Controll Room, dim control screens and even dimmer lighting surrounded him. Not sooner had he sat down in his armchair, when the tactical holographic display came to life.

"Sir, we have incoming wormhole, ETA cirka 30 seconds, exact arrival coordinates unclear... tracking... yep, got it..." A red area appeared on the holographic display. "Well I be... and I assume we're not talking about any major ship movement, otherwise our automatic defense systems would already be on their way to intercept, right?" He didn't wait for an answer. "Freakin great... I know where this is going... being on duty I'll be held accountable for every minute detail... well, if ya got a whole lot of criticism an bitchin coming your way, might as well have fun before it hits..." he thought to himself. Aloud he said "Prepare my fighter... just in case..."
Greetings

I am Advisor Morganna Aarisbane. I have been sent here to initiate discussions with your people on behalf of my Liege.

Upon what vector may I approach?
"Oookay... send her docking coordinates tooo..." he glanced through a 3D list of ships in sector as well as their locations, "send her to the Rage Of Velocity, my very own private Eraser (http://members.aol.com/provenlogic/monsoon1.jpg)-class Battleship." (OOC: Length: 3,2 km, Primary Weapon: 1 large caliber Particle Beam Cannon, Secondary weaponry: lots of Torpedoes and Gauss cannons... etc.) Then another thought struck Raddix. "Why the heck do they send lone women around in virtually unarmed shuttles in the middle of nowhere? ...and as diplomats? Everybody knows the average female is subject to the bad habit of having preconceived opinions... oh well..." He jumped up from his seat and raced to the hangar, boarded his fighter, and blasted out of orbit in the general direction of his ship. Before that, he made a close pass outside the large office window of the Prime Lady, blasting past at dangerous vicinity...

Advisor Morgana, upon landing in the designated hangar bay, would be met by a small honour guard consisting of 5 robed rangers clothed in black, and wearing sunglasses (the lights inside the hangar bay and along the corridor leading to the captains quarters had been adapted to standard levels of illumination...) On her way, she would be discretely scanned for weapons, as well as intricate bio-scans that would try to determine what kind of refreshments she would appreciate. The scans themselves would not be dangerous to her health in any way, although depending on the degree of powers she possessed she might well be able to detect the scanners imbedded in the walls. Hopefully she wouldn't make much of it, as it was standard procedure...

Upon arriving in the captains room, she would find a not so illuminated room(the floor gave off weak blueish light while the ceiling was left pretty dark...) with spars furnishment, mostly crystal-made and quite a few plants that gave it a semi jungle-like appeareance, as well as running water in the form of a small water-fall (the noise of running water filled the room in a quite satisfying way, Raddix always felt...). She would find a completely round crystal table surrounded by crystal chairs, with some refreshments in the middle (adapted to her particular biology). And then she would have to wait for the arrival of Raddix...

OOC: Will post again sometime on Monday... feel free to determine the nature of the refreshments, feel free to make fun of it too... if Furians are unsure about what exactly is required, they usually present you with an unending wide variety of options (You DON'T want to meet them in combat... "Hmm, let's see, which of my 57 weapons is more appropriate...?" By the time they decide most of them are already dead, and there's only enough of em left to barely win the battle, usually done by simply using all their weapons at once...)

Serpantis Prime, Homeworld and Capital of Outer Heaven MK II

Liquidus sat back in his chair, feet propped up on his desk. Barely three days back as ruler and God, and he was already surrounded by paperwork. Stacks and stacks of datacards, treaties and other miscellanious objects were strewn across his desk, his feet occupying his only empty spot on the desk. With a sigh, he picked up another datacard and started reading over it, rolling his eyes after a few seconds.

"Another invitation to open trade...haven't these people ever heard of the ITH? I really need to put a filter in place to stop these stupid invites from getting through!"

Throwing the datacard onto the desk, Liquidus rubbed his face. What he'd give for another year amoung the stars...

A creak snapped Liquidus out of his daze. Looking up, he watched his faithful Minister of Foreign Relations enter with a half-hearted grin. Taking his feet off the desk Liquidus sat forward, shaking his head.

"Ah Gersav't, let me guess...trade summit? National security upgrade? Send this to one thousand other nations or be cursed with a plague?"

With a chuckle, Gersav't moved to the desk, and placed a flashing datacard in front of Liquidus.

"Not quite sir," He bellowed, his chest swelling slightly, "It seems a new nation has come to light, a nation which is apparently in the GE's sights. That's why I brought it to you personally."

Brightening considerably, Liquidus grabbed the datacard and read over it in what appeared to be an instant. With a small laugh, Liquidus tapped a couple of commands into the datacard.

"Commander Antares will be best suited for this little event. Send a proper diplomatic cruiser, I'm not interested in lighting up fireworks in Universe Alpha yet. Make sure to try and outmanoeuvre any GE operatives at any deal, but most importantly make sure these...Furians sign BETAC. If we get them into an alliance with us soon, it's one less enemy we may have to come up against in the future."

Gersav't took the datacard with a smile, and nodded. "I'll be sure Antares will be en route before the end of this cycle." With a sweep of his cloak, Gersav't left the room, leaving Liquidus alone. As soon as the door closed Liquidus grabbed his forehead and sat back, visibly in discomfort. Inside his mind the title 'Furia Prime' rang out as images played through his mind. The visions were getting worse.

Ever since Liquidus began to travel the stars after leaving the company of Nhur-Galladu three years ago, haunting visions of a coming darkness had plagued him, vague at first but coming into focus over the years. It seemed near. Worlds aflame, friends piled on top of one another dead, legions of soldiers marching over the Capital...it seemed too close.

"One less enemy indeed..." Rubbing his temples, Liquidus grabbed another datacard. The vision had subsided for the moment, and he had work to do. He could only hope that his new policies would bear fruit before the coming dark.

Exardia

A lone, sleek silver ship jumped out of Subspace. Measuring five hundred meters and armed with only an anti-Fighter Beam Array, The Curaco was one of a few newly commissioned Outer Heaven Diplomat Class Vessels, designed with diplomacy and good first impressions. Gone were the days of grand Warships orbiting shocked planets. On the Bridge of The Curaco, Commander Les'tran Antares watched Exardia slowly grow on the viewscreen. Steepling his fingers, he looked over to the Comm. Officer below.

"Comms, send out the standard smart hail, all frequencies. Tactical, slow us to half speed and power down the Beam Array."

With a chorus of affirmatives, Antares sat back and mentally prepared himself for the ordeal ahead. Waging war was child's play in comparison to politics.

_________________________________________________________________

Before long, the Furians received a transmission from The Curaco. After a few seconds of buzzing, the transmission translated itself from a hissing sharp language into Galactic Basic.

Transmission:
Exardia this is Commander Antares, Representative of Outer Heaven MK II.

I greet you and wish to open up relations between your Nation and mine.

Please direct me to an appropriate docking area or landing pad as soon as you are able.

T'Res Drac'har, may the gods smile on us.

Not sooner had Raddix left orbit when another ship entered the system. Another ship, with another diplomat. "Oh great..." Raddix complained. "Freakin awesome... now I got two diplomats on my hands... and I have a feeling this is only the beginning..." Then he had an idea. "Ground Controll, send them the docking coordinates for my ship, and inform our guests that they will be meeting with the planet's second-in-command while waiting for the arrival of our planet leader (if I'm not mistaken, the Prime Lady is always tight on my heels, ready to point out any mistake I make... how surprised she will be to find that her arrival upon my ship is expected... hehe... plus, if I have two diplomats in the same room, I'm quite sure I can use them as leverage against each other... I'll be able to get some quite profitable deals...)" Ground Controll confirmed, and Raddix soon boarded his ship. The Outer Heaven diplomat would recieve much the same reception as the Balroggan diplomat, and would be lead to the same room. In the meanwhile Raddix proceeded to his room, flying through the corridors on a cushion of Force...

Morganna allowed the Furian Nav computers to take command of her shuttle and the vessel was taken to a rather large ship. It was about the same size as one of the Avatar Carriers the Ta’Nar used. The Stiletto Shuttle (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/beldragos/StilettoShuttle.jpg)glided into the hanger and the small ship settled to a stop, hovering a couple centimeters above the deck. When she was informed by the officer on deck she was cleared to disembark the ship, the side melted, quicksilver running down the shuttle forming three triangular hovering steps. The freshly revealed door slid open and Morganna stepped out.

She was wearing the simple robes of an Advisor, the charcoal grey seeming to blend together so her face was her most obvious feature. She was obviously a humanoid and appeared to be human in origin. Her dark hair framed a youthful face but her eyes were old. Looking into them leant the feeling they had seen countless years beyond the age suggested by her face. The most noticeable thing was her Presence. It was something that was felt by every Furian in the hanger bay, their innate psionic ability allowing them to notice her as soon as she emerged from the shuttle.

Morganna stepped down the trio of steps and descended to the flight deck. As she stepped off the last stair, the steps flowed back upwards covering the now closed door. She turned to the waiting Honorguard and waited for the leader to address her. She responded politely with a respectable bow.

“I am Morganna Aarisbane (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/beldragos/Morganna.jpg)and I am honored to be your guest. Please lead the way and I will follow.”

She was led through the hallways and noticed several energy emissions similar to sensor periodically along the route. It was reasonable they would scan her for weapons and other particularities and briefly wondered if their sensors were sophisticated enough to register her true energy form. The scans would certainly show there was no biological form at all, nor was there a mechanical form involved. It was as if she didn’t have a body at all and was pure thought or some other form. The five darkly dressed Honorguard stopped after a while at a door and the officer told her to wait inside for the captain. Morganna entered the room and the door closed behind her.

She looked around the room noticing the low photonic levels in the room as well as the sonic energy waveforms being emitted from the water feature. The center of a wondrously carved crystal table was occupied by several objects. She walked over to investigate them and saw several drinks and foods neatly arranged upon the table. After looking over the selections she was able to determine the dishes seemed to hold one thing in common, they were all sources of important neurotransmitters like fishes, meats and even what looked like a local version of milk. Sources of triptophen absorbing carbohydrates also seemed plentiful. There were also sources of Omega 3 fatty acids mainly in the fish dishes. Several different drinks were also present including several containing important vitamin and mineral supplements that were also attributed to brain health. Morganna could not help but feel puzzled at the selection until she remembered the scans taken earlier and determines some computer might have detected her as a mind and ordered the selection because of the brain enhancing contents of the foods.

Morganna chuckled to herself and walked over to the water feature and reached out, dipping her fingers into the water. She did not really feel the coolness of the water but felt the pressure on her telekinetic shell she used to form her body. The photonic image she generated seemed to glow slightly in the darkness, possibly thought to be a trick of the light but actually caused by the excitation of the photons generated to form the illusion covering her telekinetic form. In daylight the glow would never bee seen and it would take someone skilled to see it in darkness but to well adjusted eyes it could be noticeable.

She had kept her Psionics tightly closed but there was no telling what talents this new fascinating race might hold. She did not want to cause any issues and only “listened” to the background murmur caused by all sentient beings until the captain arrived.

Raddix slowed down as he approached his room, touching ground, he walked to the door, which promptly slid open. Immediately upon entering the room he was struck by a tingling feeling, something that indicated to him that he was dealing with a highly sophisticated psionic entity, and on second thought (glance) one that didn't have what could be described as a "normal body", but rather a shell of energy... "Somewhat similar to some of our elementals...", Raddix concluded. "Better not take things for granted though, let's not make any mistakes..." Of course, these thoughts were within the protected mind of his. To Morganna he said telepathically (lazily taking for granted that she would understand) "Greetings. Welcome to my ship... I'm sorry about the refreshments, our finer scanning qualities are only utilized during battle, the rest of the time we have to be satisfied with standard scanning... please have a seat." Then talking aloud, "You can call me Raddix, I'm the captain of this ship. You have barely arrived and already intrigue me. What has brought me the honour of such a visit? Where do you hail from?"

Morganna turned as Raddix entered, water dripping from her fingers. She could feel her host’s confusion as he realized her true nature. That made things easier for most races were instantly on guard even if they were given the concept of Psions much less the existence of creatures that did not need physical bodies. It certainly made things much easier.

"Greetings. Welcome to my ship... I'm sorry about the refreshments, our finer scanning qualities are only utilized during battle, the rest of the time we have to be satisfied with standard scanning... please have a seat."

She was delighted when the captain first spoke using Telesend showing he was at ease enough to show his own skills. She replied using her own Telesend ability showing she was equally open about their common ability.

It is fine, truthfully it is kind of funny and I must really complement you on your computer’s ability to determine the true state and try it’s best to accommodate one of my unique presence. It really made a wondrous attempt because all those things on there are good for a person’s mind so it was technically dead on target.

"You can call me Raddix, I'm the captain of this ship. You have barely arrived and already intrigue me. What has brought me the honour of such a visit? Where do you hail from?"

Following her host’s suit, she switched to verbal communication. It was actually producing air vibrations that mimicked vocal speech so it functioned quite well enough. It also allowed her to be recorded using machinery and allowed beings who were psi-resistant to hear her voice. She also broadcast her words using Telesend in a similar manner to the way normal people unconsciously projected their speech with their surface thoughts. This broadcast is what made up the background clutter new psi would hear until they developed ways to block them. This double sending made her voice appear to be normal.

“I am named Morganna Aarisbane. Please call me Morganna. I have come from the Ta’Nar Empire called Balrogga. We had one of the probes we sent out long ago wander through this system recently in its eternal voyage. It reported a race of Class D minds dwelling here with the possibility of some reaching Class C, the highest obtainable by a race bound by their mortal form. We were interested in you and decided to make contact.”

“Balrogga has no set territory or border; we like to wander where the stellar winds push us. In the past we have been in at least three different galaxies. We adapted this form to make communication easy after noticing the human-type bodies were the most accepted by nations.”

Morganna paused before continuing.

“I hope I didn’t give you any reason for alarm. We really mean you no harm. That is why I was sent in an unarmed shuttle, to show our intent.”

"Operations report. Exardian communication received, we are to follow the given flight plan and dock with some sort of ship. Ops predicts that there is a 5% probablility that the Exardians will try and engage us during this procedure. Orders?"

Antares smiled to himself. Even during these relatively peaceful times for Outer Heaven, war was always on everyone's mind. Tapping a few commands into his arm rest computer, Antares watched Raddix's ship come into focus, with numerous statistics, readouts and other information filing in the edges of the viewscreen.

"Well, I guess we're welcome. Tactical, follow that flightpath to the letter, lower shields and weapon power to five perfect and shunt the extra power to engines. Operations, send an affirmative to the Exardians, and inform them we will be docking shortly..."

_________________________________________________________________

Barely a couple of minutes after the Balroggans had docked, The Curaco finalised it's docking procedure. Docking ports linked and atmospheric pressure matched, the docking port doors opened with a slight hiss and Antares stepped onto the Furian vessel. His eyes quickly took in his the surroundings, before smiling. Two Honour Guards were behind him, their red armour glowing and Viper Pikes held tall.

"Nice. Guards, hold here, I think I can handle myself. I'll call to you if I need any assistance."

Without another word, Antares allowed himself to be led to a meeting room of sorts. Greeting people along the way, his dark uniform was creaseless and impressive, with only a medal or two on his breast and glistening rank pips along his shoulder. Making sure to leave his Duty Pistol with the guards at the door, Antares quietly entered the room, his dark boots barely making a sound against the floor. Smiling at both guests, Antares moved forward politely, and extended his hands to Raddix and Morganna.

"I'm Commander Astares, representative of Outer Heaven MK II. It's a pleasure to meet you both."

Astares looked over Morganna briefly, and something clicked in the back of his mind. Nanites all across his body detected somethign about Morganna, and before long the word 'Balrogga' popped into his head.

"And it's always good to meet an old ally." With a small nod to Morganna Antares fixed his gaze on Raddix. His height, while normal for a Serpantian, was slightly higher than most humans, which made Antares tower a bit more than he would have preferred.

Using his mind powers, Raddix quickly activated the crystal table, which also happened to be his office and work place. Immediately a small screen slid out from the apparently nowhere. Raddix used his mind to enter a search under the name 'Balrogga'. Although he already suspected what he was about to find out, he wanted to be sure. Indeed, it stated clearly, from all previous collected data, that the Balroggans were part of the Galactic Empire. Raddix sighed within himself. He had known that this day would have arrived, sooner or later. This moment, this meeting. This was the beginning of a whole new era in history, good or bad, no one knew. Yet.

He doubted Morganna was able to read the information on the screen (the system being tuned to his particular mind and powers), much less his mind. Inside him ideas began to take shape. Although Morganna seemed friendly enough, she had talked about C-class and D-class classifications... maybe a hint that the Furians were viewed as future assets... something that hopefully, together with a little skilled diplomacy, might enable the Furians to retain their independance from the GE, he thought to himself. Outwards Morganna could barely detect a slight lapse of inner grumbling, but nothing distinctively telling. He turned towards her. "Ah, our information collectors around the galaxy have heard some things about you. Rumours mostly, for sure, although we always try to filter out the truth from everything..." he smiled. "What exactly is the relationship between you and the Galactic Empire, if I may ask? It seems you are one of the many members in this reknown... Empire... or alliance, or whatever you would prefer to call it..." he paused, adding before Morganna could reply to his question "Ah, looks like we have company..." after which the door slid open and Antares walked in.

"Greetings Commander. Welcome to my ship, please have a seat. Me and Morganna here were just discussing the current political situation..." Raddix answered, trying to sound natural and relaxed, not quite succeeding though, making him sound a little ironic. Although the Serpantian was tall, what Raddix lacked in height he made up fully for in shear mass, his broad shoulders giving him a somewhat square profile, and yet you had the impression that there was great agility behind these features, which was actually quite true...

Morganna watched as Raddix made a mental connection with the crystal table and a screen opened up, polarized to allow one-way viewing so she could not see what it displayed. Most likely since she just mentioned Balrogga he was checking his database for any references they might have gotten about the Ta’Nar over the rumormills. She felt a few moments, actually a flicker to tell the truth, of emotion that was quickly covered up but she could tell he was not pleased about something he saw on the hidden screen. His words a moment later confirmed her suspicion.

“Greetings, it has been a while since I have seen someone from Outer Heaven. It’s been centuries, when did you get back? Never mind, we can talk later. We mustn’t be rude to our Host.”

Morganna turned to Raddix to answer his question.

“We became members about a dozen years ago but this has nothing to do with them. We are not here as a representative of any entity but our own. Psions are rare so we seek them out, possibly to become allies or at least friends. I believe Astares can testify to the truth of that statement.”

Raddix was quite aware of the implications. The Balroggans might not attack Furia Prime outright, but the GE would still have a foothold in Exardia, not to mention the possibility of the Balroggans passing information to the GE. Of course, the threat was obvious, and as threats go, if you KNOW it's a threat, it's not a SERIOUS threat... either way, Raddix waited for Antares to take a seat before he continued...

As Astares took a seat a few down from Raddix and in view of Morganna, he nodded.

"Yes, the Balroggans have been our most valuable ally so far. Although it was more by chance that we found our psi-abilities more than anything else, with ou-..."

Astares paused. His nanites were working over-time shielding his mind, emotions and whatnot, making him quite hard to read aside from what was on the surface. Of course though, it probably isn't a good idea to talk about Liquidus' uplift, especially in front of the Exardian. At the end of the day, maybe the Balroggans didn't even know that the nanites that flowed through his body are the only reason that he had any sort of psi-powers at all. Politely coughing, Astares brushed off his uniform.

"Haha, and I find myself starting to babble. So, are you aware of Outer Heaven at all?"

Astares directed his question at Raddix, still not knowing the representative's name, and hoping that someone would drop it into the conversation shortly.

It was not easy for the Hobbeebian Explorationary Forces commnder to receive much of anything not relating to the dark biomech outbreak, but the grace of God ssaw it fit to provide an invitation to a diplomatic meeting with a new planetary government. The Commander swiftly made time for his meeting and left out on a Emissary Class Diplomatic crusier called "The Fortune". One of the Last Diplomatic ship still around since Reaver attacked the command post of the Explorationary forces..

As they left the station they quickly entered a Slip-dimension and made a course to Furon Prime to attend the meeting. Onboard their was only a small flight crew and the diplomatic teams sent to comminucate with the people of the Alpha universe- milky way galaxy.

As the entered back into standard dimensional reality they sent a hail to the planet requesting meeting locations and if nessesary docking procedures.

OOC: Hobbeebia, 1) the planet's name is Exardia, all other Furian planets (especially my homeworld, Furia Prime) are at secret locations. 2) This is a trading planet, there was no invite sent out to anyone ICly. It's just the only known Furian planet in the galaxy, and people can drop in if they want... read my first post...

IC:

Ground Control informed The Fortune that they could dock with the Rage Of Velocity, and thus gave them docking coordinates. (Also noting that in case one wanted to avoid docking, one could send a shuttle, not necessarily unarmed, but with shields and weaponry powered down...)The representative from Hobbeebia would reciev the same reception as the ambassadors that arrived prior to him, and would be lead to the same room...

As Astares took a seat a few down from Raddix (note: it's a round table...) and in view of Morganna, he nodded.

Raddix noted the slip of the tounge but didn't see any importance in following it up with a question, for now. "No, actually not... I'm afraid our knowledge of other nations is a tad limited... we have several fact-gathering operations which I wouldn't care to name, but these are mostly concerned with rumours... it's so hard to come by a credible source nowadays... which brings me to ask you fellows, if any of you would incidentally be willing to share database information with us...?" Raddix responded. Sensing some insecurity in his counterpart he added smiling "...and you can call me Raddix..."

Turning to Morganna, Raddix nodded slightly before continuing. "I believe in your good intentions, however I'm afraid public opinion, not to mention certain government officials, would find it highly unsettling if we were to form an alliance with a member of the GE, wether your nation supports the Empire's escapades or not (Raddix hinted in his tone that the Furian government did not support said escapades...). However, to make the long story short, I think we still have several options exept an outright alliance. A Non-Agression Pact to begin with, basically that would mean that our two nations don't attack each other under any circumstances, unless the NAP is cancelled one month before any hostile move takes place (however unlikely that may be, Raddix quickly added with a smile). Also, considering that Exardia is first and foremost a trading planet, I believe a trade agreement would be quite beneficial for both parties... I'll leave it to you to come up with a detailed suggestion..." Raddix turned to his screen for a moment, read a brief report, and added "It would also seem that we have another guest coming to join us... one of those busy days at Exardia I guess..." he smiled.

OOC:

Your last comment indicated we were expecting immediate company (Hobb) so ICly we expect them to enter and would wait before continuing out of politeness.

Second, it is a Holiday weekend so people might not be around to post, with stuffing themselves at relatives and other Thanksgiving activities.

I am going to take off in a couple hours for the in-laws and will be there all day.

I will post some thoughts and non-action stuff to keep this going, but ICly I am expecting the door to open in the next few seconds.

IC:

Morganna listened to the Furian begin to babble about how he would not be able to do anything other than some non-ag pact. She deduced from his actions the Furians were Paranoid and afraid of public opinion. That also indicated Vanity. She added both them to her list she was making for her report.

As he continued talking about this world being set up for trade, She could not help but to wonder how a race could ignore valuable resources on a planet just to classify the world as being set aside exclusively for trade. She had not scanned the planet itself out of politeness but she doubted the picture Raddix was painting was purely accurate. There is no way a planet could be solely devoted to just Trade. There had to be farms to feed their citizens below as well as other services for its residents. She added “Secretive” to her list as well as “Profit Driven”.

Morganna turned towards the door and waited for the expected visitor to enter. She kept her Minds Eye on Raddix to watch him.

OOC: Sorry, forgot about that... anyway, I'll be gone for the weekend too so it's cool...

Also note that I stated that Exardia was first and foremost a trading planet (due to it's closeness to the galaxy core...). I never used the word exclusively... first and foremost, as in, the only planet known to outsiders, which means the only planet which can be used for export/import/public relations...

IC:

Morganna was dead on about the Furians being 'Paranoid' and 'Secretive'. Hearing rumours about what had happened to a nation named Asfaltum a few years ago, a nation of roughly similar size at the time, one couldn't exactly feel a liberating sense of freedom in a galaxy were the GE was present... at least that's how the Furians reasoned. As that particular happening showed, one couldn't even trust ones allies around here... Paranoid? Heck yeah, you bettcha!!

Of course, Raddix was simply trying to blame public opinion as a diplomatic solution, but he still sensed a slight disinterest or, maybe even mistrust, in Morganna, so he decided to be frank and blunt. "Let me be frank with you, Morganna. I personally believe in your good intent, well maybe not 100%, but, would you, who have been around international society longer than us I presume, would you say that this is the right place and time to believe in people's good intent?" He looked at both the represantatives while he asked the rethorical question. "We Furians are a very paranoid and vengeful species, I openly admit that, but the fact that you have connections with the Galactic Empire simply doesn't sit well with our leadership, you must realize that... put yourself in our position. What would you do, more than offering a NAP and suggesting a trade agreement? What more can be done? I'm open to suggestions..."
