The American Privateer is proud to unveil the newest program in international Relations.

The Client Nations Program.
Under this program, small nations of around 5-50 million people will be inducted as Client States. As such, these nations will be provided with TAP'ian advisors who will help them to attain a modern level, and make themselves a voice in the world. Those who are members will be granted an automatic Free-Trade-Agreement and Mutual-Defense-Pact, along with the potential for a full Alliance later on.

Those who undertake this program are to be Republican or Democratic in government, with English as either a primary or secondary language.

Nations who undergo this will be granted the following benefits
1. 3 Slots per 5 million at each of the Nation's three Military Academies
2. Full connection into the Rail, Road, and Air Grids
3. A seat in the Convention Council, where grievances and suggestions for improvements within the Convention may be aired
4. The full Civil, Military, and Economic support of The American Privateer
5. Land Claims within The American Privateer
6. Self Rule

In exchange, the following is expected.
1. Material support in times of war
2. Loyalty while a Client State

The Client program shall last until the Client State has hit 200 million, or until the Client wishes to remove the contract.

Sponsors are mainly available for allies, and would just be that they are sponsoring clients within their own nation the way that we are.

OOC: this is mainly a way for new players to learn how to play and also be given a hand up in terms of technology and military. I am going to enter talks with DMG and Phoenix Dynamics about the extension of DPR's to client states for the duration of contracts.

If you are a sponsor nation, then you are doing the same thing that we are. I am going to work on a charter for a formal alliance between Sponsor Nations.

You have to be a free society with elections. If your senate is chosen by the people, then yes you qualify. For example, the US is a Democratic Republic.

Note: Monarchs are acceptable, so long as it is a constitutional monarchy, ala England

We wish to call it the International Democratic Union, and it will be an international council for Democratic and Republican nations. Sponsoring is not required, but we strongly recommend it.

We shall present a full charter sometime tomorrow.

Well, though it was not elected, it does bring a touch of representation to the populace. Therefore, when the IDU Charter is finally written (OOC: Probably during Math Class tomorrow), We would like to welcome you into the program as a partner. Please note though, that we shall be putting pressure on you to reform as a more democratic nation.

What, is no one interested?

This is a good idea. Our nation supports what you are doing. Perhaps you should extend the population range otherwise nations will only need you for 3 days. Perhaps extend it to 50-75 mil.

Our nation would also like to help out with the TAP program, we could assist you in funding it.

Nah, cause I am saying that they should apply within that range. I may bump it up to 50 million as the maximum application size. You can stay as a client until you reach 200 million

Okay, people obviously see problems with this idea. So, if you see problems in it, please post them here. I am open to changes and new ideas for rules.

Note: If you suggest opening it up to other forms of government, then no go. If you want to have a Socialist or Monarchy Client State program, then fine, go right on ahead. This one is to help out those who wish to be a Democratic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democracy) or Republican (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic) nation.
