A bloody battle (FT only)
Somewhere in the middle of space....
The battle cruiser, Lekos, was on patrol duty guarding the area for any pirates that might suddenly attack Astater cargo ships. The cruiser was armed with powerful laser cannons that could wipe out anything after a couple of minutes.
5 small frigates that were hijacked by pirates suddenly attacked Lekos with surprising speed, the laser cannons were suddenly disabled on the cruiser by the frigate’s smaller laser cannons, then the frigates left the ship damaged badly, the captain desperately called for help to the nearest ship.

"Sir," the feminine voice of the A.I system filled the command deck only moments before the semi-transparent woman appeared, her skin a glowing purple with constant coding coursing along it ceaselessly, "I've detected a distress beacon, just a few lightyears from our current position."
The captain, a tall, greying-black haired man looked over to the console where Amanda, the A.I, stood at attention. "Can we detect anything about who they are? Or what their current situation is?"
Amanda took two seconds, checking over her data banks. "Negative, Sir, the location of the beacon is beyond our scanner range....but I can have a course plotted in a few seconds if you wish?" She asked the question in a playful voice, as if she really needed to ask.
Still, the captain pretended like he had to think of it, crossing his arms and placing his tobacco pipe in his mouth. Blowing out a few white fluffy rings, he nodded. "Input the co-ordinates. Helm, take us out whenever ready."
"Aye, Captain." the grey jumpsuit-clad crewmember replied with ease, his hands busy at work on the control pannel before him. "Ready to make the jump to slipspace."
"Engage."
The frigate Nemean Lion began to accelerate through the void, a rift in space appearing before it. Within moments the vessel dissappeared within the opening, not long after the portal closing behind them, sealing off the extra dimensions from realspace. As the other end of the slipspace portal tore through the blackness of space, the Lion re-appeared.
"Disabled vessel, this is the NESC Nemean Lion, we've intercepted your distress signal. How can we be of assistance?"

"This is the ASS Lekos, our ships is heavily damaged by pirates, first we need to take the injured off the ship before we do anything else."
The battle cruiser had apparently suffered more damage then originally thought.

"Hold those pelicans," was the responding order, "Shields up, but do not fire unless provoked. Let's see who these people are."

Suddenly one of the pirate ships was knocked back by electric pulses. Confused the two fell back to engage the new threat. This was rapidly becoming too much for them...
'Fire at will!' came a human voice over the radio. 'This is Captain Carlson of the ASC Boreal an Fury class space cruiser can we be of any assistance? We picked up the distress signal'
The cruiser turned to face the two oncoming pirateships.

The scene had quickly dissolved into a vulgar brawl. Raiders from an unknown nationality, if not rogue, had come and attacked the disabled starship. It was assumed that they were the ones to disable it in the first place. Not only that, but another force had arrived and began engaging the raiders, them too unknown. It was a strange predicament the human vessel found itself in.
"The Lekos can't take much more, Sir. It's now or never if we want to save the crew."
The captain turned to the A.I, "Risk assessement."
Another few seconds were taken before the response came. "Seventy percent chance of giving battle with the raiders. Fifty percent chance of combat with the new arrivals. If we deploy now we have an eighty percent chance of evacuating the whole crew. That is, assuming the newcomers are able to stall the raiders. I would suggest if we are to launch rescue teams that we, too, engage the two raiding vessels."
Nodding, the order was given. "Very well. Helm, bring us about. Lock on to the nearest raiding vessel and fire at will."
One of the pirate frigates was suddenly hit by a laser, the pirate vessel simply exploded killing the whole pirate crew, the Lekos crew cheered when they saw this.
However the pirates split up, the other half approached the new comers, while the other half attacked the foreign vessel.

The Anagonian Battleship (http://hawk.proboards1.com/index.cgi?board=Military&action=display&thread=1103679193&page=1#1130547221) Excelsior Minor had just completed another patrol in the void of space some light-years away. It was alone, typical for distress patrols that went on for months on end. The crew of the Excelsior Minor had docked a few planets, had shore leave, restocked and repaired essential systems, and went on without a hitch for around six months to date. She was due to return to the Galactic Republic for a crew shift and dry dock.
Unfortunately that wasn't the way it happened. After passing a system filled with electronic interference, the Battleship had just Sub-Spaced to its final route when the Communications Officer picked up a distress signal.
"Captain, we have a signal of distress, twelve light years past the Omicron Seti Mining Colony."
Captain Roger Buck sighed and leaned back into the Commander's Chair, reviewing the supplies of the ship via his holographic display. He grunted, just enough for two more months. The Excelsior Minor wasn't supposed to depend on these supplies unless an emergency came about. He supposed this was such an emergency.
"Take us about, heading four-two-two. Make way for Sub-Space. Battle Stations."
The normal lights turned blue for Battle Ready stations. Marines went to their posts, crew went to their stations, and fighters prepared for launch. Within minutes the Battleship entered sub-space, only to exit forty-five minutes later in the midst of what seemed like a battle.
"I'm getting scattered reports of battle-damage and some odd laser disturbances," the Sensor Operator commented.
"Confirmed, battle has taken place, possible pirate activity," came Roger Buck's Second-in-Command at his station. "Alerting fighters for emergency launch, per your order Captain."
"Delay that to standard launch, I want to know what's been going on here." He checked his holographic display with Microwave Sensor Readings, checking the Fighter Readiness, and rechecking supplies. "Send a message of assistance."
"Aye Captain. Contacting now."
This is the Anagonian Battleship Excelsior Minor. We have received a distress signal, and have arrived to give assistance. Please confirm battle activity and direct us to the ship involved.
Of course they knew which ship it was. Just standard procedure. The 1 kilometer Battleship dwarfed almost everything present, but lucky for the pirates it was alone. No EM Shields up meant lasers could get through. The weapons were active, however.

"Yes captain."
As the orders were issued, the 51st Exploration Group moved at flank speed towards the area. Upon arrival, the Victory-II Destroyer began a sweep of the area to scan for any hostile ships or such.
The two escorting Carrack Class Light Cruisers began to release a squadron of TIE Interceptors to do an initial damage assesment as well as prevent any further hostilities from taking place.
Two Lambada Class Shuttles were also scrambled with medical staff as well as Repair Droids on board to see if any help could be delivered.
A message was sent to the Lekos:
This is the Victory Star Destroyer Impulse, we have come to render any assistance. Please give a status report.

A message was sent from the Lekos to the other ships
Our ship is badly damaged, and the captain is dead along with almost half the crew.
The Astaterian military headquarters finally sent reinforcements of 3 battle cruisers, but they will take hours to get there.
Space
the Pirates had no choice but in call in reinforcements, at that moment, 6 pirate battle cruisers and 10 frigates had arrived to blast the Lekos and the other ships away
Damn, how many ships are involved in this? Rob Pulson watched as another pirate ship was blown away. There goes my meal ticket. Shifting in his extremely comfortable captains chair, he toyed with his rather large pistol casually, wondering what he should do. Rob was a space cowboy, an old-fashioned bounty hunter. He’d been tracking the aforementioned pirates for a few days now in hope of some good loot. Well concealed from the battle thanks to Eve’s rather advanced stealth fields, he yawned loudly and took a big bite of a slice of half-eaten pizza lying on a expensive-looking control module.
No eating on the controls, Rob. How many times do I have to tell you? A soft, feminine voice suddenly filled the ship’s cabin accusingly. Rob sighed and threw the pizza into a receptacle. Ah, Eve. One of the most advanced ships in the galaxy, and she just happened to be a neat freak. Technically classified as a-and now the only-lightwave-class Ravean frigate, Eve was equipped with the best weapons, engines, and A.I. available. Rob had, of course, stolen it. Lucky for him, Eve was fully automated; he and the ship had been traveling space ever since.
“Yeah, yeah, I get the picture, Eve. What now, though? We’ve lost any chance of a bounty, and we’re not pirates either, so it’s not like we could raid any of these ships. Well, I guess we could if we wanted to, but with such a clusterfu-”
Shut the hell up, Rob. Eve’s voice was cold and calculating, more machine than human now. There’s multiple bogies to the east; cruisers, and frigates. Should we engage?”
“God damn…even with that destroyer, I’m not sure that lot will be able to handle all those ships. Drop out of stealth, but fire a salvo of missiles from tubes four, eight, and twelve first. Target those cruisers first, then go after the frigates. And do try not to get us killed, will you?” Rob looked concernedly at the raging battle; he had faced much worse before, but having so many different ships in one place was a recipe for political disaster.
Shall I, as you like to say, “Punch that shit?”
Rob nodded knowingly. “Yes, Eve. Punch that shit.”
------------------------------------------------------------
Missiles flew from Eve as she began a deadly waltz with the pirates, riddling the cruisers with precise shots from her electric cannons; blindingly quick, she flew circles around her enemies without much effort. Momentarily confused, the pirates started to break formation, all trying to focus on the small, heavily armed frigate harassing them. Rob hoped that the other ships would join in soon; the pirates wouldn’t be dazzled for too much longer, and Eve didn’t have quite enough firepower to take down every ship in sight.

A blinding point of light appears in space, simply hanging there for a split second, then slowly expanding outwards at a geometric pace, until an immense, swirling orange-white tunnel to nowhere rips open, extending into unknowable distances.
From deep inside, a black speck appears, suddenly ballooning to full size as it rushes down from wherever the other end of the tunnel leads to, and almost instantly appears on the scene, the tunnel collapsing itself behind the Omega-class destroyer (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9748283&postcount=9) as quickly as it appeared. The grey hull of the ship immediately changes color, a blackness spreading across the ship's surface, except for near the bow, where, in white, the text ANSF Outsider could be read if one were close enough or had a powerful enough telescope and were so inclined as to point it in the right direction.
The right direction, however, might prove difficult to determine: for some reason, sensors making use of the electromagnetic spectrum don't seem to be able to pick up the ship. Oddly enough, none of the Star Destroyer's usual sensors seem to be able to detect it at all, though it does ping briefly on the sensors of all present combatants before this effect starts. Those using sensors working on different principles are able to detect the ship, though it's signature is rather fuzzy and indistinct, and exact details can't be made out well.
Those using gravitic mass sensors are able to determine the location of the ship quite adequately; whatever the effect it is using is, it does not seem to do anything to direct mass sensing.
A glow emanates from the rear of the ship, and a massive exhaust plume bursts forth, extending into a sun-bright flame as the ship's main engine increases it's output, and the vessel begins to lumber forwards, slowly at first, but gradually accelerating-- albiet, at a pitiful speed compared to some of the other combatants, almost as though it lacks inertial compensation. Maneuvering thrusters fire occasionally to correct it's course, as it begins to move towards the Star Destroyer. The other combatants don't seem to escape the notice of the crew aboard the Outsider, however, and eight hatches snap open at various points along the ship's sides. A split second later, eight gigantic missiles, each the size of an apartment complex, vomit forth, and begin accelerating. Two head for the Star Destroyer, three for the Anagonian vessel (the captain of the Outsider apparently wishing to test it's defenses as it is one of the larger combatants present), two towards two pirate battlecruisers, and the last one towards the Nemean Lion. The missiles rapidly begin to pick up speed, the plume from their main drives like a sun-hot blade in the eyes of anyone looking in their direction...

"I see, send the medical ships in and evacuate the surviving crew members and bring them on-board."
"Yes sir!"
The order was given out and the lambada shuttles moved in and requested permission to dock to take in the surviving crew members.
Back on the Impulse...
The screen flared to life as several other blimps appeared, the IFF indicator indicating that they were pirate reinforcements.
As men rushed to battle stations, the shield was raised and several additional TIE Interceptor squadrons were scrambled to form a fighter shield.
As they were doing so, several missile launches were detected, appearing out of apparently no where. The Carrack cruisers hastily moved into defensive positions as they tracked the incomming missiles and opened fire on them with Ion Cannon and Quad Turbolaser batteries.
Due to the huge size of the missiles, they were easy to track and thus easy to shoot down. Also TIE Interceptors used their agile and speed advantages to maneouver behind the missiles and pour Laser fire into them.
The Star Destroyer quickly turned to port such as to give the missiles a smaller surface area. The aft batteries also aided by firing off Proton Torpedoes at the incomming missiles. There was no possible way any of the two could survive the defensive countermeasures.
Meanwhile the Star Destroyer opened fire with Ion Cannon batteries at the point of launch (of the missiles) as well as the projected course of the yet unknown object...
Eve barrel-rolled to the side to avoid the hailfire of pirate missiles and plasma bursts sent her way, continually dropping in and out of stealth to confuse her opponents. Gracefully dusting a frigate with a pair of aft machine guns, Eve let loose another salvo of rockets. Like a azure angel of death, she spun across space delivering her holy punishment to any unfortunate enough to stand in her way.
Rob watched the battle excitedly, carefully noting the arrival of another carefully cloaked craft that was apparently allied with neither the pirates or any of the national ships, but firing at whatever moved. It's signal was a bit fuzzy, but Eve was able to pick it up well enough. A destroyer...Without a registered I.D.? Rob suddenly pulled himself from his chair and headed for Eve's small hanger.
"You handle the pirates, Eve; I'm going out on Swordfish. That destroyer looks more trouble than it's worth. I'll call if I need help." Eve didn't bother to answer, too concentrated on the battle at hand to register Rob's statement.
Swordfish was Rob's personal fighter, just small enough to fit into Eve's tiny docking bay. A blood red craft that starkly opposed Eve's light blue, the fighter was a top-class converted asteroid racer decked out with four machine guns, multiple missile launchers, and a single large forward plasma cannon-much more firepower than a run-of-the-mill fighter craft.
Rob and Swordfish streaked out of Eve's hanger like a rocket, speeding towards the large, cloaked destroyer. Carefully eying the massive missiles speeding in various directions, Rob zipped around the destroyer, holding his fire until his enemy made a reaction.

"Officer of the watch!" An Ensign cried from one of the bridge consoles. The Officer of the watch was the First Officer, Ashley Abraham, and he instantly walked along his bridge to survey the scanner report
"Well?" he asked impatiently, staring at the screen
"Sir, we appear to have a large number of vessels, most unidentified, engaged against pirate forces nearby. They may be the same ones who have been hitting our convoys. Shall we engage?" The Ensign asked nervously.
Abraham thought about it for a moment, this ship, the latest C 1 Class Dreadnought (http://s239.photobucket.com/albums/ff167/mreynolds058/?action=view¤t=C-6ClassDreadnoughtpic-1.jpg) to be launched from Illesia's shipyards was on a mission of exploration, despite the fact she was a fully functioning warship.
"Yellow alert, battlestations, raise the shields and alert the Captain" he ordered in a series of relays. The Ensign nodded an immediately a klaxon began to sound throughout the ship.
Abraham decided it would be wise to send a message to the unidentified vessels in case they should need assistance
To: Unidentified fleet
This is the Alversian People's Ship Capitalist. We can detect your
battle on our scopes and we are wondering could we provide assistance?
Commander Ashley Abraham
APS Capitalist
Abraham smirked, if the idiots turned down the oppurtunity to have a fleet capable battleship drop in on their side, then they would struggle.
Eve threaded herself like twine into a needle between the lancing laser bursts the pirates threw at her, easily avoiding most; her erratic flight patterns and nearly unfair speed could fool nearly any auto-targeting system this side of the galaxy. The occasional plasma burst that did hit would be absorbed by Eve's shields and rerouted back into her own power systems. Most missiles were either too slow to chase her, or too distracted by the electromagnetic pulses and chaff she emmitted.
Eve, pursued by several pirate vessels now, suddenly turned on a dime to face her opponents; firing a salvo of missiles and a machine-gun burst for a distraction, a large bow hatch opened to reveal a dangerous-looking railgun, which spewed forth a harpoon of black energy towards the Pirates. Most vessels had the decent sense to turn their tails and run, but a single cruiser hesitated to long; the dark lance blew straight through it's chassis, leaving an ugly twisted lump of metal behind.
Rob, still circling the unknown vessel in the Swordfish, swore loudly as another ship entered the area. Opening a private channel to the Alversian vessel, he yelled loudly through his ship's speakers.
"A little help would be appreciated, Alversian. I suggest taking care of those pirates first, eh?"

Captain Roger Buck of the Anagonian Battleship Excelsior Minor decided then, after hearing the open communications scrambled by his communications chief, to fire support bursts of Fusion Pulses, basically plasma bursts, at the Pirates. The Battleship maneuvered steadily past the new ship entering the scene, almost as if hitting it but smoothly missing, and aimed it's turrets at the already-targeted pirate vessels and began to broadside. Slowly, smoothly, bolts of huge Fusion Energy began to streak towards their targets, guided by the hidden stream of particles pointed at the targets.
The Microwave Turrets stood on standby for close-quarters naval battle, aiming at the nearest pirate vessel and emitting a steady stream of Ionized Microwave Particles that could singe even Pure Titanium into melting.
A message of warning was sent to all friendly vessels in the area.
Attention: Attention: Attention!
All friendly vessels remove themselves from field of fire arc. Anagonian Battleship is now firing concentrated pulses. We do not wish friendly fire. If you need artillery assistance, begin giving coordinates now. We will not engage directly.

"Sir!" Another alarm joined in with the first and suddenly a blonde haired woman entered the bridge
"Report!" she ordered, Abraham snapped to attention
"Ma'am, we have been ordered to assist against this pirate fleet" he reported
"Very good, Commander, Continue with attack pattern" she ordered.
"Yes, Captain Desmond"
The Capitalist turned around quickly and headed for the nearest pirate ship, her two pulse cannons firing in bursts of three at the largest enemy ship. The shields flucuated for a few seconds before the ship was engulfed in flames. The Dreadnought had arrived.

As the two missiles aimed at the Star Destroyer detonate with a terrible flash, the expanding globe of light from each one and brief spike of hard radiation shows that they seem to be extremely large fusion warheads: in short, rather refined versions of the nuclear weapons used by many pre-spaceflight nations. The released power is quite impressive, even with a 'fizzle' caused by premature detonation of the warheads, however, though the blast quickly disperses without any kind of atmosphere for a shockwave to form in.
The Outsider's launch hatches open again, and begin to spew forth more missiles: first four, eight, then twelve, sixteen, and so on and so forth, eight more of the large apartment building sized missiles spewing forth every eleven seconds, until thirty-two of them have popped into space. The large missiles accelerate away from the long black ship, all focusing on the Star Destroyer, as the return fire from it zips through the general area of the black vessel, a decent portion of the shots missing. A number of ion cannon bolts seem to be on a course to hit, and impact over various portions of the hull... until, a few meters away from the ship's surface, they carom off some sort of invisible barrier, a 'rippling' effect visible to anyone focusing on the ship with a telescope, and fly off at an angle, deflected away.
The small fighter approaching the ship does not escape notice-- and indeed, once it passes within about eight kilometers of the Outsider, dozens of points of light wink all over the hull as numerous super rapid linear guns open fire, seemingly a point defense armament of some sort. A veritable hail of high velocity metal projectiles soon fills the airspace around the Outsider, making approaching it a dicey proposition at best for small craft.
The immense black craft continues on it's course towards the Star Destroyer, it's velocity constantly increasing as it piles on the Gs. As it begins to move closer into the area of engagement, various turrets on the hull move, searching for targets, their barrels aligning as they rotate, tracking nearby ships.
If the new arrivals are fazing the captain of the ominous vessel, there is certainly no sign to be seen thus far from it's actions.

Captian Roger Buck looked at his holographic display, then stood to head over to main battle display. A large table emitted a round image of the space, the ship types, and the various contacts. One bothered him. He pointed a finger at it and instantly all actions were targeted towards it. The unknown vessel, unknown configuration, and possibly pirate ship. He directed a quick call to Communications to clear things up.
"I want to know who they are and what they're here for. If anything seems suspicious, I want direct contact."
The bridge crew responded by hurrying to configure their displays to the new possible threat. In space, the huge Battleship engaged its drives to begin a slow course towards the unknown ship. All turrets began to target, and the missile bays began to open. EM shields sparked to life to full power as what looked like some kind of Aurora Borealis display came to life. No fire was made by any gun as of yet.

This is the Anagonian Battleship Excelsior Minor. State your intentions. We will begin engagement in a combat zone if no designation is given.

If there is any response from the Outsider in response to the Anagonian transmission, it isn't outwardly obvious. Indeed, there isn't much sign that it's recieved the transmission at all-- it simply continues on it's course, seemingly ignoring the smaller vessel.
"Shit!"
Rob rocked the Swordfish sharply downwards as what looked like a hundred guns opened up on his from the unidentified ship below him. An expert pilot and a former racer with incredible reflexes, he re-routed all the ship's power to it's engines, Rob rocketed through space, soaring every which way to keep from getting offed. He pressed a button and spoke directly to Eve.
"Eve, forget the pirates. Help me with this big motherfucker over here, will you? I'm gonna get diced without some help; those capital ships can handle everything else." Eve silently disengaged the pirates, darting in and out of enemy fire; nearing the enemy ship, she let loose hell, firing missiles, plasma bursts, and mines from every tube and cannon; the railgun needed time to recharge, however, and stayed silent.

"Captain! Unidentified ship on collision course, 3 points off the port bow!" One of the Ensigns shouted
"Evasive manouevers! Cut power to the left nacelle and full throttle to the right and top ones!" Clara ordered, standing on her bridge.
"Yes, Ma'am!" The ship immediately began to turn away from the approaching Outsider.
"When she passes, give her a full broadside!" Clara ordered
As the Outsider passed by a whisker, she was given a full broadside from each of the Dreadnought's eight turbolaser turrets.

The Anagonian battleship seemed to respond in kind, as well. The size of what was assumed to be a Dreadnought-Class didn't dwarf the 1 kilometer battleship, it just was longer with due respects. The first act was to test this new vessels capabilities. The Captain positioned the ship for a broadside as all batteries began to fire with respect to position. Torpedo tubes began to unload, spouting submarine-size Nuclear-tipped Burrow devices that, when impacting on a hull, dug to use the ships oxygen supply as an entincifier(sp) to the Atomic Effect.
Electro-Magnetic Fusion Projection Cannons fired both streams of Ionized Fusion and Pulses of the same respect, while Electro-Magnetic Microwave Projection Cannons fired constant streams of intense Ionized Microwaves to melt armor and weaken shields. A call for reinforcements was made by the Communications offer, which was expected to arrive in two hours.
Standard procedure against a Dreadnought made that highly unlikely. So, the Captain ordered a full charge of the Sub-Space drive for a very tricky combat maneuver.

Exodus Class Cruiser Shrike
The Explorer Corp had detected emissions from what could only be a battle. Immedietly a message went out over the network, and the nearest vessel on call was Shrike. A large 'armored' cruiser nearly as large as the battlecruisers fielded by the Colonial Navy, this Colonial Marine ship measured nearly two kilometers in length, but was thick and obviously a very study platform.
The ship was oddly enough, painted a dark green with a bright golden sunburst insignia on the bow. Several turret batteries were mounted on the 'deck' of the cruiser reminiscent of navies of bygone eras. A central superstructure was thrust up along the left mid-section of the cruiser. Other weapons were undoubtedly adorning the massive ship.
And, it appeared in a silent flicker of radiation emissions as the massive energy systems vented after creating the wormhole for the jump. It sat, perhaps 100,000 kilometers from the battle. Sensors began sweeping, trying to make sense of the conflict.

With calm proficiency that would make the Emperor proud, the multiple missile launches were detected and a volley of 10 Nova Torpedoes were fired at the point of launch.
The Nova Torpedoes quickly accelerated and did a short microjump before appearing right in front of the target and detonating into a mini singularity, to massive effects. This would reduce the chances of them being intercepted.
As the enemy missiles approached, the same tactic was used as before, but to a greater extent, Ion cannon and Turbolaser batteries fired en masse at the incomming projectiles, while Interceptor class anti-missile Torpedoes were fired head on at them.
The missiles would smash into the missiles and deliver a huge pulse wave which would fry the systems of the missiles, hence rendering it useless. The Carrack Cruisers also positioned themselves in between the incomming missiles and the Star Destroyer to protect it.
However, a missile did manage to penetrate the laser field and hit a Carrack in its port side. The missile exploded and splashed the shields with huge amounts of radiation. Luckily the ship was insulated against major radiation damage but several quad turbolaser batteries were knocked out of operation and a huge section of the shield was knocked down.
Quickily orders were given to regenarate the hole in the shielding as the sturdy ship maneouvered to face its untouched section to the incomming torpedoes.

(OOC: X_______x Since when do Star Destroyers have black hole missiles!?)
The salvo of fire from the two ships passing on either side of the Outsider splashes off of it like rain, energy weapons flying off at an angle. The various incoming missiles suddenly meet a suprise, as two antiship missiles fire from the black behemoth's launchers... and detonate, less than 100 meters away from the hull, gang-firing the incoming missiles and causing an even larger explosion that temporarily obscures the ship.
As the explosion slowly begins to clear, a menacing black silhouette can be seen, rotating itself without changing it's vector, the heavy beam cannons on it's bow and stern beginning to glow brighter and brighter as they slowly swing into alignment with the Dreadnought and the battleship...
...and then, a little late, the missiles from the Star Destroyer arrive. CIWS flails away at them, tagging all but one, which 'detonates' less than ten meters away from the vessel's armored hull.
The intense gravitational force makes the 40 million metric ton vessel seem to shiver in space for a second-- and suddenly, with an orgy of soundless violence, it collapses inwards around the singularity as bulkheads fail spectacularly, the vessel imploding around the singularity, and becoming crunched into a white-hot glowing ball about the size of a basketball.
This only lasts a split second, however, as one of the things that was imploded were the magnetic bottles containing the antimatter that consists of part of the ship's fuel systems, and almost a ton of it reacts with the super-compressed wreckage. A split second later, a decent portion of the wreckage is converted to energy, violently, and a tremendous explosion tears outwards from the former location of the Outsider...

The bridge of the star destroyer was deathly silent as the lone Nova Torpedo evaded the enemy's defenses and blew it into one massive explosion, it was quite a firework for the officers and crew but they had to advert their eyes due to the sheer brightness of it.
However each crewmate suppressed the elation of eliminating an enemy vessel. It would be a story to be passed down for generations. Their minds snapped back to the present as the Captain issued an order and the force turned towards the Pirate fleet which was engaged in intense combat with the Astaterian Navy.
They moved towards the pirate fleet and started firing long distance shots from the furtherst possible distance. There they stopped and unleashed 50 Proton Torpedoes to test the pirates reactions and they also redirected the TIE Bomber Squadron to begin a attack run while the TIE Interceptors flew cover for them and also attacked whenever possible with their Laser Cannons...

Do you have anything (or -one) particularly valuble on board?

'Very well, Lieutenant, but this only proves my point. There's no logical reason for them to fight like this. We're not a bunch of helpless cargo ships. We're a small fleet of considerable naval power and expertise.'
