State Dacha, Ariga, Totalitarian State of Red Tide...

Everytime Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Gromkyo entered the chamber of Basvorich Narmonov, he wondered if he was breathing some of his last breaths. No other person in the world led too such fear in him as the General Secretary of the Totalitarian State of Red Tide did. He gave a polite nod too Narmonov's secretary... oh, the person had some special title, but thats essentially what he is. Normally he wouldnt have bothered giving someone so low such a nod, but the Secretary had influence(albeit, slight) over Narmonov, so not taking risks seemed like a good idea.

Narmonov was seated at his chair, bent over a series of forums, without looking up, he said, "Greetings, Vyacheslav Nevorich... sit, sit."

Gromkyo did so and Narmonov sat up, saying: "The sub-orbital bomber program FINALLY seems too be back on schedule... I guess liquidating some of those men worked."

Gromkyo replied, "I never had my doubts, Basvorich Kerchotuvich..."

In Gromkyo's opinion, Narmonov might have been better off not putting in front of the firing squad one or two of those men, they were skilled men... and even though Red Tide was filled with skilled and unskilled men, they were the best Red Tide could find. The rest of them, however, clearly got what hey deserved for failing the State.

Narmonov nodded, "I have been thinking..."

'Uh-oh...' Gromkyo thought, not revealing anything on his exterior, the last time Narmonov said 'I have been thinking', a small island was almost nuked.

"This... United States of America... its government is despicable." Narmonov said... in a odd matter-of-fact voice that sounded strange given the words he was saying.

"Comrade General Secretary?" Gromkyo asked. 'Comrade' may have been a communist saying, but people had grown too disconnect it from communism, but as most older people in Red Tide were once Soviet citizens, and their children and children's children had grown up hearing their parents and grandparents(respectively) using the termm, it was only logical that the bad habit die hard.

"I am letting you in on this information, Vyacheslav, because you are the person I trust the most..."

'Not that that means much... Gromkyo thought cynically... Narmonov wouldnt hesitate too get a new Foreign Minister if Gromkyo stepped out of bounds.

Narmonov continued: "We are planning too invade this nation. A Field Army, two Superdreadnought Battlegroups, and a Carrier Battlegroup are preparing too set sail this week... for Seattle."

Gromkyo nodded, "Should I?"

Narmonov shook his head at the unanswered question, "No use giving away our surprise. We shall also eradicate their sattelites once ready. And a follow up force of an entire Army Group will land in Washington State once we have secured Seattle, with even more possible."

Gromkyo wondered if there was anyway he could stop this from taking place... but he saw none, that would let him survive that is.

"Very well, comrade."

Narmonov immediatly bent back over another report, a sure fire sign that Gromkyo had used up his time.

"Thank you for your time, Basvorich Kerchotuvich" Gromkyo said, as he got up and left the office. Narmonov merely grunted, but he would have done alot worse had Gromkyo left without saying a word... more then one Interior Minister had learned that the hard way.

A day later...

The two Dreadnought Battlegroups and one Carrier Battlegroup, followed by a convoy carrying the Field Army, left their respective ports, formed up, and began too steam towards Seattle. Just outside USA West Coast waters, however, Red Tidean Attack Submarines came too a halt, their job was too destroy any American shipping on the West Coast.

A war was coming...

The American military was on alert because of possible action against the Ryou Black Islands, in light of the others flagrant use offensive use of nuclear weapons.
While noting the RedTide vessels near American waters, they were not seen as a threat. But they were being monitored, since Reagan didn't not trust communist nations.

OOC: It never fails too amuse me as people (understandably) mistake Red Tide for a Communist nation... which it isnt. Although its political and law system share many similarities with 1940s Soviet Union, it would be better to compare it with Fascism instead of Communism. Indeed, the TSRT is wholly Anti-Communist and is actually in agreement with the aims of ACID.

500 kilometers from US shoreline and counting

It happened with little too no warning, various VLS tubes mounted onboard the two Superdreadnought's H-47 and H-45 aswell as their escorting M-Battleships, opened up and released their CM-4 Anti-Ship Missiles*. These missiles targetted the USA- naval ships, there were five missiles per US ship.

Just outside of USA- waters, near San Francisco

The nuclear powered attack submarine SSN-220 confirmed its target... a United States Freighter carrying god-knows-what. The Captain of the sub gave the order, the torepedo doors were opened and... a volley of two Mk-49 supercavitating torepedo's were sent on their way, ready too break the keel of the ship and sink it.

It would be the first of many submarine attacks on USA- Shipping.

The sinking of the American ships took Americans by surprise. The United States sent several stealth subs to the area, from the west coast, to hunt down enemy vessels to determine which nation they came from.

A memorial for those killed in the attack was broadcast live as the President promised to take action against those found to be responsible.

The News first reached the logical point,nearest to the States. Many papers,TV news shows, and the Internet was ablaze with the line
-USA Attacked!- With the States being the largest simbol of capitalism, the very socialist government of Estovakia wished to help the attack. Then news came that it was an Red Tide2, a nation that helped out once, yet not too familiar as of now. The Estovakian fleet had just returned and was given new orders to investigate.

Red Tide Fleet, We are here to asist. Yet we are not equiped for battle. If any foghters arive, we will be forced to withdrawl. Untill that, we will be on station over your fleet.

Not expecting an attack on the US homeland, the military bases were not protected by anti air or anti missile batteries. Numerous sites suffered severe damage. Without waiting for the go ahead from Washington, local commanders of the air bases sent their planes into the air to take care of business.

(OOC: The locations of the armories are unpublished because they're just empty brick buildings that are used only every two months to meet up for drills. The actual drills are done in the empty desert.)
Seattle was decimated was by barrage as the city quickly organized an evacuation in the aftermath. Several of the national guard armories were hit but they were empty except for stored military vehicles which were either destroyed totally or suffered heavy damage to the point of being useless.

The Los Angeles Class subs detected the most noisome of the RedTide submarines and fired upon them.

It was now clear to Americans that America was now at war with RedTide 2.

The national air guard up and down the west coast ripped thier F16's and F15's into the air to attack the Red Tide fleet which was now near Pudget Sound. The national guard always got the used stuff.

The active air force launched 2,000 F18's, 890 F35's as escorts for the 5 F 115's stealth bomber fighters.

The Department of Defense began organizing resistance, putting all US bases on alert. The army would have to ship soldiers to the West Coast since the only west coast base was at Fort Hermes in Washington.
The closest bases to America's left coast was Fort Bildon in New Mexico and Fort Brigadier in Colorado.

The US naval fleets at San Diego and Los Angeles left port and headed south into open waters. The 7th fleet at Pearl Harbor headed toward Washington to attack the RedTide fleet.

Congress immediately declared a state of war without debating it.

At bases around the nation, reservists and guard units were called up as quickly as possible.
On the regular military side bases were like a beehive. The soldiers walking around in full battle readiness looked like the Borg from Star Trek. They were fully armored with composite bomb proof materials. The material was capable of protecting a soldier from an 800 lb explosion. Even the hands and feet were armored. Carried inside the mechanical armor suits was a hydration tank with 2 days worth of drinkable water, a portable air conditioning unit, and work assist components which had the effect of causing the soldier to appear 2 times stronger than he actually was.
The helmet came with a monitor that covered one eye while the other was open to see the battle field. The monitor showed the layout of the battle field and the locations of friendly and enemy units. It had a hidden transmitter and reciever for wireless and voice communications. The helmet was of the same material as the armor.
They carried the RR 17 Assault Rifle, the replacement of the M16. The RR17 could be modified to see and shoot around corners. To see around the corner, you configured it and looked at the small attached monitor. The camera was located just below the end of barrel. It was able to fire both the 5.56 mm and 7.33 mm rounds and was able to fire grenades as well.
Inside the skull, and attached to the brains of each infantry soldier was a small device to monitor health, both physical and mental. It was also used as a means of mind control in the country's special ops. Those soldiers would fight to the death, even though it would not necessarily be their choice.


All these soldiers, over 2.3 million for the ground forces, prepared to combat RedTide troops.

OOC: The armor is a clear godmod. The Hellfire missile weighs 110 pounds and can destroy a T80 with ease. Mind you, a T80 has significantly more armor thickness then the most advanced infantry armor that exists even in theory!

IC: Puget Sound, 20 kilometers from Seattle

By this point, Seattle was well within gun range. The mostrous 25 inch main guns on the two Superdreadnoughts spun slowly facing inland, as did their secondary 152mm dual-purpose guns. The orders came down as Sailorpuppets ducked into their blast shelters.

BOOM!

The first shell arched through the air from the main battery, aimed at one target: the Seattle Space Needle. One after another, the primary and secondary cannons on the Superdreadnoughts and the G-Battleships fired. This time, at the area just behind the Seattle harbor.

Exosphere, over the Pacific

The RADAR Oceanic Reconnassiance Sattelite passed over the American 7th Fleet as it steamed towards Puget Sound.

Immediatly, orders were flashed around Red Tide and 662 LNIA-03 Naval Interdiction Craft took off from their bases in Red Tide. They formed up and flew towards the American fleet, each one carried two CM-3 Anti-Ship Missiles on their wings and one in their bomb bays.

The American Pacific Fleet was too be destroyed.

OOC: Is this a private party?

The Imperial Government wishes to declare its political, and if need be, economic support for Red Tide 2, but like other nations, we shall take a militarily neutral stance.

OOC: Colstream, you are ignored. First you raise a ridiculously large army for your side which would probably collapse your economy, then you RP an attack with me and give me NO CHANCE TOO INTERCEPT THE ATTACK!

The Ships of the small yet strong Estovakian fleet left port with orders to Assist in the attack on the enemy fleet. There old and converted ships would not be much of a challenge for the modern navy, yet if they could link up with red tide, they could be part of a stronger attack.

The Radio buzzed alive with chatter. One Of Estovakias strong points was communications, and the military reporposing was effective in instand messaging in these old planes. "Hey, We have reports that our home fleet is moving!" As several chears are heard on the Radio. "Has Red Tide asked for anything?" The pilot said, "No, yet you never know..."

The Fleet was on it's way. Everyone Knew that if they Didn't have the firepower of the Navy Forces, yet the tactician that he is, Admiral Soryu Knew that the key was a secret in back, with the Airpower.

OOC: The armor is based on what is available in rl. The dragonskin was tested on Mythbusters when they laid it on top of an IED. The IED was then detonated and the armor came out with flying colors. Though the outside was screwed up. It would be the same with this armor.
It's not going to stop anything that can blow up more than 5 inches of steel which I assume is what a T80 is. It will protect from IED's, grenades, and mortars but if you shoot an antitank round at it, don't expect the armor to win. Actually, the armor won't even take a direct hit from a tank round. It could withstand an indirect (as in shockwave and shrapnel from nearby impacts) hit but not a direct one. Also, repeated direct hits with a 50 cal could turn it into swiss cheese. Reason being that:
It could withstand a few hits from a 50 cal. But you keep sending 50 cal rounds at it and it will start to weaken and then eventually fail.

The Seattle Space Needle was obliterated by the attack as thousands of residents abandoned their homes and their cars in a mass panic.

The F16's and F18's coming within 150 miles of the fleet began popping off their antiship missiles. Each plane carrying a complement of 4 missiles each.

The US 7th fleet air escort spotted approaching enemy aircraft and headed out to attack them as the fleets AEGIS anti air defenses rocked the daytime sky like bouts of thunder and smoke.


The 5th Infantry Divions out of Arizona was just arriving in Southern California and had begun to take up defensive positions.

Meantime, the Pentagon was planning a counterattack.

"Were Hit! We Lost the whole right wing!" The Message said as the number two plane was cleaved by a missile. "We have to get out!, the missiles are faster than intel said!" as the five remaning planes droped flares, chaff and did a high speed dive, inspired by B-29 pilots escaping the a-bomb's blast. Even in a high prop dive, another plane, this time the number four recon plane was hit in the mid section of the old plane. The remander retreated as fast at there props could.

Estovakian Fleet
The Recon flights news reached the ships of the Fleet. They knew that it would be a hard fight. They still needed time to get there.

"Preparations are compleate, and as soon as we get there, we will give them what they deserve!" The Overhead speakers anounced. The converted small tanker looked over the reason that this is one of the only fleets still usins a ship called a "Seaplane Tender." They looked at there beauts and hoped all of them came back.

“Humanity in general epitomises hypocrisy in almost every sense of the word, as a race of individuals and animals we backstab friends, family and strangers in many manners of degrees and never think twice. We may do it intentionally or we may not but it is human to be a hypocrite, it is our nature to be dishonest, underhand and dirty towards friends and enemies alike and this shows only too well in international politics particularly when too nations differ on certain subjects such as nuclear power. It shows in faith and commitment as well as politics, one can never be one hundred percent faithful to God, our partners and closest friends but it is ever present in politics as politicians strive to be better than their peers in many different aspects. You can also relate this to individual nations that have arrogant tendencies or blindly (or knowingly) follow hypocritical paths of destiny. One such country was the United States of America that had gotten itself into a war because of its hated foreign policy.

“The USA had threatened the Stevidian ally of Ryou Black Islands on countless occasions and had recently been planning a mass attack on Ryou and even a strategic strike at Stevid itself. Only the advice from several foreign national bodies out side of the Holy Empire and advice from the Empire itself prevented the USA getting into a war it would never win. But even though it is human nature to hypocrites and incoherent in decisions and promises, the United States had crossed the line for Stevid when they stated their reasons for almost attacking Ryou. The Ryou Black Islands had harnessed nuclear technology and although they were not thought to be the most responsible nation in the world it was still the sovereign right have nuclear power stations and even nuclear weapons. The United States of America felt as if they were entrusted to say which governments could and could not have such power in their nations. What right did they have to make such statements? Who gave them such authority? And if there is such a governing body that does exercise such authority then it is a corrupt one seeing as America is obviously responsible enough to have such technology. If Ryou is such a war possessed state then indeed, they should not have such weapons and yet the United States threatens nations with war at every corner if the opposing nation does something they do not like and thus the United States should not have nuclear weapons.

“The United States of America is thus a nation swamped with hypocrisy that puts every man, woman and child in the USA to shame and makes even the most hypocritical people on Earth look like angels. However the American government is arrogant and always ignores such accusations whenever it can and continues to profess that it is correct, always correct and always makes the right economic, political and economic decisions which is why they have the authority to tell nations like Ryou, that have the sovereign right to harness nuclear power and nuclear weapons, what to do or threaten with military action… Hypocrisy in its raw and untainted form.

“Since the corrupt and vanity swamped US government won’t listen to other nations’ accusations there seems to be only one way to show the United States of America what we are talking about. This great nation of Stevid and its Holy Empire should give them a taste of their own medicine! Rob the United States of several of their power plants with the ‘valid’ reason (at least the Americans see it as a valid reason as long as they are the ones making the threats) of that they are a dangerous country because they threaten many countries with hostile action that they couldn’t possibly be responsible enough have nuclear weapons and power.

“This government should physically, and not just verbally, show those hypocrites how it feels to be on the receiving end of such threats! NOTICE that the USA threats countries that are smaller than itself? Stevid is an imperialist nation and has just completed the Third Sphere of Expansion in the past several months and would fall under America’s category as untrustworthy nations that shouldn’t have nuclear capability. Yet due to the sheer size of Stevid and the raw political, economic and military power our great nation possesses they did not even bring the subject up. It seems like this part of American foreign policy applies to countries that are smaller and/or are weaker than the United States. Such hypocrisy and yet nothing is being done.

“Our government should send a stark warning via military force to those infidels in the United States of America showing them that they are not a big fish in a pond but rather a pathetic minnow in one gigantic ocean where Stevid and other huge nations are the true predatory sharks that feed on the minnows. If the government has half the sense it pretends to have then the least they could do is at least pledge political support to Red Tide2 and not just remain neutral, the most they could do is declare open war. But we, the editors, believe that the vast majority of the population would be content with a happy medium. Stevid will just have to wait and see.”

The White House formally issued a statement condemning Red Tide aggression against the American homeland.
US forces in the states of Iraq and Kurdistan went on high alert status to defend those states.
Iraqi Al Maheed Islamic Councils began organizing their militia fighters to prepare them to attack any invaders. These militias were underground private groups which had been actually banned by the federal government.
In addition to the muslim militias, the two states' governments also had their own national guards but they were not as fully organized as those in the main US states.

The state of Puerto Rico had called up its Guard and Reserve units with the intent of shipping them to help in the defense of California but the US Joint Cheifs deemed it more important that they be kept in Puerto Rico to defend the island state in case Red Tide should suddenly attack it.


With a long line of ultra liberal democrats running the White House since the end of the Bush II administration the US had increasingly cut funding for defense and military research. President Reagan had begun to reverse that course but the money did not come in fast enough. Reagan was committed to continue defending America until his term in office was over. However, because of years of neglect, the US was behind the enemy in terms of technology and weaponry. It would cost them dearly and it would become a lesson they would not forget. Even the "Borg" suits were technologically primitive compared to what the Red Tide forces had available to them.
The US still relied on outdated F16's, F18's and F117's. Even the ships were outdated. Reagan knew this would be result in America's defeat and had championed increased defense funding to upgrade the military. But even the first upgrades take time. The first hint of the new upgrade was the new armored powersuits and the new assualt rifles. Whether they had even the slightest chance of standing up to the Red Tide forces was, as yet, untested.

The California Air National Guard's F-14's fired several missiles at the enemy fleet in Seattle as they approached with in 70 miles of it.
The Guard was actively evacuating the civilian population centers in northern California, figuring that any landing force in Washington would likely head south to consolidate the West Coast. Their primary job was to defend the fleeing refugees from attack.
The Guard in Oregon was forming frontline trenches to defend the state while the Oregon state police were evacuating civilians to Idaho and northern California, to remove them from the combat zones.

With a long line of ultra liberal democrats running the White House since the end of the Bush II administration the US had increasingly cut funding for defense and military research. President Reagan had begun to reverse that course but the money did not come in fast enough. Reagan was committed to continue defending America until his term in office was over. However, because of years of neglect, the US was behind the enemy in terms of technology and weaponry. It would cost them dearly and it would become a lesson they would not forget. Even the "Borg" suits were technologically primitive compared to what the Red Tide forces had available to them.
The US still relied on outdated F16's, F18's and F117's. Even the ships were outdated. Reagan knew this would be result in America's defeat and had championed increased defense funding to upgrade the military. But even the first upgrades take time. The first hint of the new upgrade was the new armored powersuits and the new assualt rifles. Whether they had even the slightest chance of standing up to the Red Tide forces was, as yet, untested.

The California Air National Guard's F-14's fired several missiles at the enemy fleet in Seattle as they approached with in 70 miles of it.
The Guard was actively evacuating the civilian population centers in northern California, figuring that any landing force in Washington would likely head south to consolidate the West Coast. Their primary job was to defend the fleeing refugees from attack.
The Guard in Oregon was forming frontline trenches to defend the state while the Oregon state police were evacuating civilians to Idaho and northern California, to remove them from the combat zones.

They neared the battle, as many wondered how the battle went as the recon planes left. The Ships regularlly pinged for subs, as Radar equiped Mi-8IV's checked the sky. Not too long now.

Mythbusters did a test ,who would give them a vest, i've seen Discovery Channel: Future Weapons test with a grenade it stand up to it well

OOC: It may have protected the dummy but the vest itself, at least the front, didn't stand up to it too well. I'd imagine that while a person wearing the vest would survive they would be pretty bruised just from the blunt force.
Not to mention that the vest only protects the chest area. It won't do anything for the head, neck, or limbs, let alone your family jewels.
But I saw the same test but not on Mythbusters. I saw it on the show: Future Weapons when they were testing DragonSkin. Personally I don't think Dragonskin is all that they claim it is. If it was, the US military would have endorsed it.

South Lizasaurian naval convoys loaded with metallic combat suits, miniguns crossed with grenade launchers, devestator tanks (tanks that shoot at a rapid rate) and EMP weapons that can be placed in bullets, artillery shells, RPGs, warheads of any type. Rotary artillery was also sent via the navy.
