Telosi: Legacy End

Anagonian Exploration Fleet Indestructible - Anagonian/TFU Border

Telosi gathered her gear after prepping for the exploration of a new planet just near the Fedral Union border. It had been years since the Republic and the Federation had contact, or any diplomacy. Seeing as such the Republic Navy saw appropriate to send the Battleship Indestructible with a few Heavy Cruisers to establish a Border Post on the newly-found world of Jurstan. Telosi had reviewed the information of the mission on her armors Wrist PDA. So far as anyone knew it was uninhabited and a forest world. Republic probes had scaled the planet and mapped possible outpost locations, and her Marines were coming along to make sure it went smoothly.

She put on her customized helmet and read the suits stats. Everything nominal. Walking before the preproom mirror, she reviewed herself.

Telosi was a Raptorian, one of the few reptilian races in Anagonia that was known to the outside galaxy. Originally coming from the Komodren Homeworld of Novar, the two races had gathered their centuries of conflict and united to expand themselves to the stars. The Komodren race took the spotlight, while the Raptorians took the shadows. It was an even trade for Telosi, as her race disliked attention.

She stood about seven-feet twelve, her tail length about five feet with full armor surrounding and hiding her frame. Her toe-claws were left unarmored, as it was customary for Raptorian Warriors to cut their opponents. It brought honor to their ancestors to kill in the old manners, so their Chieftains explained. Which was just fine for Telosi, as she had gutted quite a few foreign warriors in many skirmishes and wars years past.

Her helmet was formed around her head nicely, allowing breathing and talking room. The eye-slits on the side glowed blue, telling fellow Raptorians her feminine status. As in many Wars with the Raptorian folk, males tended to sacrifice themselves first before letting females take the death. A matter of honor, so they explained. Telosi had lost many a great Comrade that way, but did not regret avenging the deaths afterward.

She gathered her projectile weapons, which were customary for Marine Exploration Divisions. Her dropship would be the first to scout the planet, and would be the last to return to the Indestructible. Heading for the Launch bay after leaving the preproom, she regretted not being able to bring her fallen comrades for such a vacation of a mission.

They would have enjoyed eating the planets animals for breakfast.

Dropship Cannibal - Deep Space

Telosi looked towards her five-man team. There was the Droidekan Thor, his Battle Droid skin a custom-painted lightning strikes. He was Prometheus' second creation, or as he called himself "son". He had come along in many missions with her Division on board the Indestructible over the past twenty years. He liked it so much he stayed.

Then there was Frankie, a human. As much as she understood humans she failed to understand their logic. They seemed to enjoy ruff-housing before missions, and earlier she had caught Frankie sparring with a fellow Marine in the Battleships gym. They seemed to enjoy flaunting some kind of supremacy, which was understandable considering humans were the most populace race in the known Galaxy. However, when push came to shove, Frankie proved to be a valuable asset in battle. His demolition skills were, as one marine put it, quite explosive. She never got that pun.

Du'uni was next. She was the squads Komodren Warrior. Her heavy weapons specialty was a need when the squad was in dire situations. She carried a
G-12 Medium Assault Rifle and a Bazooka just for kicks. She also towed a M249 SAW Light Machine Gun updated for Marine use. Her heavy frame and seven-foot height made it possible for her to easily carry these weapons and ammunition. Even as Du'uni was Telosi's distant cousin in species relations, Telosi still lacked the strength that the Komodrens two hearts gave them.

Ruveski, Ascar, and Hugo made up the rest. All were human and wore the normal Mandalorian Scout Armor. Hugo had the communications and Ascar was the team medic. Ruveski just liked to kill. Which Telosi was fine with. She scanned them over along with the rest to make sure they were ready, then held up a hand. All talk ceased between the three humans in back.

"Alright, almost time for jump. Strap in and prepare for a nice vacation in the sun."

Everyone responded with a normal Marine "Jurrra", the battle-cry of the Republic Marine. Telosi sat back and strapped herself in, grabbing her weapons. She had a Surpernova Shotgun and a M25 HVAR for her arsenal. She checked to make sure for ready, and felt the lurch to Sub-Space.

Unknown System - Unknown Territory - Unknown Planet

Before anyone could react the Dropship had left Sub-Space too late. Everyone knew the feeling of distance for the region of travel, with the humming and thrumming points that seemed to be coming from stellar targets. As far as Telosi could tell, they were lightyears past their destination. And, more to the point, they were entering a planets atmosphere. The Pilot and Co-Pilot were out from the sudden lurch after the exit inside the atmosphere.

Now she saw she was the only one awake, and felt the Dropship fall faster and faster until-

Sand filled her vision, along with the most massive impact to her body she ever felt. The dropship twirled several times, too many times to count. The Troop-bay fell from the main ship and drifted a few feet. Then, miraculously, everything stopped. The spinning, the hurting, the G-Forces.

Telosi unstrapped herself and checked her armor. Just a few dents. Her weapons were checked by the moniter inside her visor. She saw the otehrs were finally waking, and told them the situation. As far as they knew, they were in Imperial Space.

Bad knews for an Anagonian ship. More bad for her squad. They prepared for the worse.

Telosi didn't open the bay-door yet. She waited till the Medic cleared everybody, including her. Standard procedure. Hopefully their crash was on a deserted world. Somehow, however, she knew otherwise.

Sohjin central command several miles from the crash site, a young man came running down the stairs of the command center.

“Sir, sir!” he yelled loudly to an older man in a jump suit who was looking outside at various pictures of the landscape, the old man looked up and raised an eyebrow, he was general custard, a veteran of many wars, and assigned to the unions chief first warning outpost.
He said with a commanding voice.

“What is it son?” The young man caught his breath then continued standing up strait and saluting. He replied in an eager voice looking at the general. “sir we have reports of a ship that crashed several miles away from here, the entire systems sensory grid and planet sensors are going nuts because of it, orders ?”

Custard put his hand to his chin, he sighed as he looked around the room then motioned over a newly assigned sub commander over to him, he said to it.

“I want you to deploy a scouting team and have the fast reaction force on standby”

The android commanded nodded wandering over to a console and placing a wire from its brain into the AI control center, Orders were sent out.

---
SohJin, is a desolate world at the edge of federal space, population, 1200 military and civilian personnel, automatic mining androids and AI. Once a pristine habitable planet complete with ocean and forest it was slated for colonization, the scout team assigned to the planet reported violent tidal burst, super tsunamis that engulfed entire continents ever hundred years all because of the moons orbit, this of course was no acceptable.

So in July of that year several hundred gravimetric tug boats, with supercharged tractor beams positioned themselves around the moon, when they began to move the massive metal rock, something went wrong several tugs on the right side of the moon malfunctioned the operators could not stop the others in time and in an instant, the massive moon crashed on to the planet in brilliant white flash, turning both bodies in to molten rock and iron, a secondary explosion due to the planets core resulted spreading ejecta out for millions of miles most of the mass went out in to space.

What was left was a small ball of molten matter that cooled, what was left of the planet was a semi unstable core spining to fast in one direction because of a parasite lump on it, the bare minimum of a mantle formed as well. the thin crust of a planet was thick enough not to let the mantle seep on to it and make it in to a lava world.

Evidence of that scaring and faithful day could still be seen, and the heat, the heat of the planet radiated and was held in by a runaway green house effect, just under the crust was a thin mantle and just under that mantle was a violet semi stable core.

The entire surface was over 250 degrees in the sun and 200 in the shade, special suits were needed to even traverse the surface of sohjin.

After the event the planet was left to cool, but during several wars with its neighbors, the union utilized and still utilizes the world as an outpost.

Construction of core mines and automated mines began later that same year, it was too hot to have personnel man the mines so droids and robots had to be used, today.. The only hint of life was a clump of metal structures glimmering in the distance. The massive infrastructure of mining surrounded them, mag tubes connecting the mines in the massive dunes to central processing units just outside of the town. The entire process was automated and controlled by an AI. The command center was a semi above semi underground structure like most of the buildings resting on the opposite end of the odd valley crated by the ranges of dunes. The buildings dug in to the packed up dunes.

---
The orders went out to a station inside of another group of massive dunes, suddenly a large door opened up the sand shifting pouring in to the opening, the force field and fans pushing it back out in a torrent of wind, several black trikes merged, their sleek black bodies absorbing the sun not even giving a hint of shininess, the trikes went out in such force and speed, they tore up the sand behind them their wheels putting scars in to the vast wastes of sohjin.

The lead Trike of the three vehicle group, had Commander John Styles, he was commander of the crack commando unit responsible for recon on sohjin, his history was board and well defined, as a military man and a person who could get out of most any situation, fighting in the colonial civil war, the GE conflict, the conflict with the league of worlds, he was one of the commanders in charge of special forces ready to land on the planet the UCA and tannleron were assaulting, before he pulled out with the rest of the UCA.
As the trikes approached the slowed to a crawl gently moving around the crash site two on high ground and one at the impasses , the trikes continued Hercules, rocket pods, that could act as fire suppression, and dual 20 mm autocannons. They could carry two people; the recon team was a team of six mean all from John’s old unit. It was obvious they were there, as standard procedure they made it know it was foreign territory, styles and four of his men got out, they were dressed in all black suits, carrying either RA-18 Special Rail rifles or RA-5 Submachine guns. They held them close styles was in front of the four others, they started walking towards the crash site as the sixth man sat in his trike fiddling with the communications device, he managed to get it to work after a few adjustments, and started to speak through the intercom.

“Attention unknown forces, you have entered Terran Federation territory, I repeat you have entered terran federation territory, we mean you no harm the Temperature of this planet is currently 255 degrees, if you do not have containment suits stay where you are, but open your doors.”

Rocket pods were already armed and ready to fire, styles and his men were positioned in stealthy corners cloaked and under the sand, or just in a dark sand cave made by solidified sand. It was a waiting game now, a total utter waiting game.

Anagonian Marine Armor (http://hawk.proboards1.com/index.cgi?board=spacemilitary&action=display&thread=1121709345) Auto-pressure for space and land. I think you know what a Battle Droid is.

IC:

Telosi didn't hear the broadcast, as the walls of the bay were sealed tight for space and blocked basically any sound from coming in. She grabbed Du'uni and Thor, making sure the Sentient Droid took the lead. The rest of the squad formed up as the bay door opened. Everyone shot back at the extreme heat, but their suits adjusted quickly to the outside temperature by ventalating and recycling the air to a well-maintained sixty-two degree's inside their suits. Telosi grunted, as did her Komodren sister.

Thor, with advance optic sensors, had adjusted to the brightness before anyone else could. Even with their helmets sensory capability, a sudden flash was hard to get by by any advanced technology. He slowly stepped onto the sand, carrying what looked like some kind of sniper rifle. On his back was attached the largest war-hammer anyone had ever seen. Anyone who got on the wrong side of the hammer would know why Prometheus had named him Thor, and would regret the namesake for all eternity.

Looking on the hill to the east Thor waved his squad back in. His optics zoomed in and figured there were at least three unknown vehicles with perhaps six biological entities in some kind of cavernous structure. Obviously they had landed on someones planet, because this did not match the paradise that he was supposed to be damn well enjoying.

"Guess I'm not going swimming," he mumbled to himself.

"What's out there, Thor?" Telosi had her communications on. "Noting but a damn desert with some people who look ready to kill." Telosi considered this for a moment, then ordered her squad out. She was about to take a chance. "Everyone drop your weapons, we don't want to look hostile. Thor, if they even flinch, zap them."

"Yes ma'am." Came the resounding response.

At once the entire squad gently laid down their weapons and stood, Telosi waving and signaling peace in short hand motions. She bowed then. Hell, how was she supposed to know they understood english?

The broadcast repeated as the soldiers came out of the cavern. the black semi cloaked uniforms came back in to existence, Styles looked over the group of foreigners on federation soil , he moved his hand to signal his comrades to stand down. They stood in a wedge formation, styles started to speak to female raptor that looked like she was in charge. He wandered up to her holding his hand out saying in a professional voice.

“My name is Commander John styles of the Federation defense forces on this planet, welcome to sohjin, before I invite you back to base I’d like to know what your intention here is

His facial features could not be seen through the red visor or mask of his suit, he had a sly grin though, and typical of a hot shot commander of a crack commando team. Of course he had to lie to these foreigners about who he was, the federation couldn’t have its special units ousted by themselves right?

The planet was indeed hellish no place close to paradise, planetary scrubbers kept oxygen from turning in to chlorine and sulfur; the planet could have turned in to a devil planet with pressure greater than Venus.
Miles of sand, that’s all there was, just miles of sand, a sea of heat and waste, parties of drone miners crawled along the sand looking for new deposits.

Federation defense post: standing inside of a large command center several scientist stood around a holographic resonation of sohjin the tapped their personal data pads , the chief researcher was looking at the planet picture rather strongly pointing towards pone spot and marking it on his pad the information being uploaded to the massive mainframe. He looked over to his comrades, he said with a node as he walked back over to the main interface computer.

“All right we have the spot to test this weapon, Are there any personnel in the area?”
“Yes sir” said his comrade pointing to the blips of Special Forces in the valley were the crash had happened.

The chief replied saying raising his hand moving it back and forth. “Well get them out of there before we do this test”

With those words suddenly styles had gotten a few signals, in to his HUD in his mask, he sighed and looked over to his men then to the newcomers.
“Look this place is about to become atoms in a test.. we should get back”
The area was selected for a test of a new type of advanced bomb, the phase bomb, utilizing a runaway phasing effect to eliminate objects out of the current universe and phasing them quickly tarring them apart due to the molecular disruption. It specs were discovered inside of the old facility ran by the united federation of planets many years ago nearly five centuries ago.
The bomb was under construction until today, ironically the visitors arrived in the middle of the testing ground …

Thor was the first one to react. He calculated the maneuvers required to decapitate the soldiers and get in between him and what appeared to be the leader within milliseconds. However, he did not do so. Telosi exchanged her hand and shook the offered one. Her claws not coming through the armor, so the others hands were protected.

"I am Sergeant Telosi, Republic Marine from the Galactic Republic of Anagonia." She took a look around. "Seems we got lost."

Hugo, who had blue stripes across his armor, nodded. "Yea, we lost communications with the Republic a ways back. Seems we had a Sub-Space malfunction."

Ascar, green striped for the Medic role, shook his head. "Hadn't been one in hundreds of years. I'm surprised we didn't all turn inside-out."

Telosi nodded. "As you can see, we've been lucky, so, we do apologize for the intrusion."

Du'uni picked her weapons up, strapping them back on. The rest of the squad followed. Telosi sighed and grabbed hers, knowing it wasn't proper diplomacy, but accepting the fact that they weren't going to loose their weapons. It just wasn't in a Marines blood to leave a gun behind.

Thor came up and looked towards the sun, unphased by the brightness. "I believe we may need to get shade soon. Your armor won't compensate for any unforeseen effects this planets temperature may have."

Du'uni was the last to speak. "Yea, so, mind if we borrow some shelter?" She looked at Hugo, then back at the soldier. "And a communications uplink?"

Styles nodded, he began to turn motioning his men to do the same, as they started to move back towards the Trikes leading the newcomers down the windswept sandy path.

He idly looked to the side as he claimed a small dune in front of him, he said with a casual voice that reverberated through the sandy valley.

“To tell you the truth there are hardly any records of your people in our databases, most of them were lost when the government change happened, funny how you should end up in this ass backwards planet.”

As they reached the positions of the Trikes, Styles and his partner boarded the main one, the three wheeled black rough plated trikes absorbing the light around them in a sort of optical camouflage, meant for night however a malfunction happened in this batch that required fixing.

Styles said “what the hell happened to the cammo?”

His chief who stayed in the trike to the back said “I don’t know some interference probably from the test that’s about to happen”

Styles said in a sarcastic voice “Oh so you think it’s the test, are you sure you weren’t wanking to the specs over there?”

The Chief mad a crack back that only styles could hear through his neurological interface.

The crack commando team that made up Styles and his buddies always had small fights like this; they usually ended up in hilarity.

Styles motioned the visitors to climb onboard the Trike, he said to the Raptor, in a casually diplomatic voice. “You can ride in front with me, I’m sure panch won’t mind giving up his seat Right buddy? “

His intent was not only to invite better altitudes and first impressions towards the federation from these newcomers, but also to get a better notion of what he might be dealing with in the future, and part was just him being a gentlemen.

Telosi wasn't used to humility. She accepted the offer and sat in the front, the rest boarding wherever they were instructed. She grumbled, not heard through her helmet, and spoke to her team with private channels.

"What do you think?"

"I think I want to kill something," Ruveski said.

"Good thing we arn't on speaker," Hugo commented.

"Oh shut up, your just not wanting to kill them."
"Whatever. I'm a medic, I want to save people. These people are hospitable. Accept it."
"Fine."

Thor just shook his head, then looked around the vehicle, studying the armor with his sensors and logging everything for when he got back to Fleet Command. What he got so far would be invaluable enough. Seeing as the Federation had changed would be a prize indeed.

Ascar broke the silence. "I believe our best option is to use them for communications. Afterward we can do whatever we want."

Telosi nodded. "I agree. Best to not push our luck. Who knows what might have else changed?"

Telosi activated her mic, looking at the human who was kind to her. "What was your name again? I seemed to have forgot."

John looked over to the female. He flipped his visor open, she could see his smooth pale face, a slight view of his dark hair as it was combed forward.

He replied with a smooth voice, resting his hands calmly on the control surfaces of the Trike. “My name is John styles; you can call me john though”
The Trikes continued along the dirty sandy path kicking up dust in massive clouds as their speeds approached over 250 MPH, as the scenery passed several glimmering towers could be seen, in the endless distance.

These towers were the scrubbers, they scrubbed the emissions from the planets core and converted it in to oxygen and water, the planet had no moister so clouds could never be formed, and the only water there was produced by the towers.

The Trikes neared the large open bay door; they slowed down as they moved in to the blue lit utilitarian bay coming to a stop inside of a large parking lot like facility, containing other trikes and a few quads.
Ais and droids walked around servicing vehicles, taking off blown out wheels and placing others on.

The facility was populated by security, military workers and scientist, noise of drilling and repair work could be heard, as well as excavation, the facility was built next to an old UFP outpost and research center that contained the secrets of that phase bomb.

In the mean time the rest of the crew from the Trike disembarked, a security officer wandered over to one of the men coming off of a trike. He said with a rather casual voice.

“ Well guys you can’t go down corridor A, they are doing work down there and I don’t think it would be appropriate, I also see we have new visitors, so I’m going to have you go over to barneys station to check em in. “

Barney Calhoun was a 28 year old graduate of New Union University, he sat back in his leather like chair looking upon several holo cameras throughout the felicity, he idly moved his hand towards a somewhat dirty cup of half drunken coffee, and he leaned forward grabbing it and placing the cup to his lips slightly slurping. He put the cup down and started tapping a few buttons upon the holographic console.

The screens in front of him changed now and again, his blue uniform looked pressed and cleaned, and he was equipped with a 9 mm rail pistol.

The main reason for his assignment to sohjin was after heavy work with capital law enforcement he was selected for a program to help secure outpost faculties, the job pays well especially since sohjin contained a research facility as well.

John Styles, nice name.

Telosi waited patiently as the trike did it's run towards the base, noting everything that passed in her helmet. She was recording everything for future use by the Republic Military, should an Invasion be necessary and an outpost needed. Standard procedure, not really something to get things started.

As soon as the trike stopped she exited along with the others, gathering her squad and preparing to make way for wherever John directed her to. She instantly noted the Security Guard and overheard his remarks. Wherever this "Barney's Station" was it seemed like a shake-down room. Telosi wasn't concerned.

She had noted before the elegance at which the interior was constructed. The panels smooth and lit with a bluish hue. Fantastic way to present a Military Base, if she could conclude it herself. She figured roughly five-hundred personnel were here, but she couldn't be sure. After all, with underground facilities it could easily number in the hundred's of thousand's.

"I suppose we move forward," Thor remarked under private communication. He stood silently beside Telosi the entire time, making his own assumptions about Federation design. He didn't like the welcoming colors, or the facility. Too plain and simple for him. He preferred defenses out right for intimidation and something along the lines of forced welcomes. But he always kept these thoughts to himself, presenting them himself as rather accepting of his surroundings.

"I agree, but we'll wait for Mr. Styles here. Better to be polite." Telosi looked to John for guidance. It wasn't her base, after all.
