U.H.B.N. (Upper Highlands Broadcasting Network)
Today, at 1:02pm, the United Forces of Upper Highlands invaded south Kurkistan in less then 4 hours. This invasion is the retiliation of our contry following severals Terrorist attacks on our country's major cities, causing the death of more then 10 000 people in the last 5 years. President Bang:"We have reasons to believe Kurkistan is home to many terrorist organizations threatning the security of our contry and we also have proof that they are funded by the Kurkish gouvernement. We are convinced that the attacks will stop once we have occupied the country" [I]Journalist[I]Sir, is Upper Highland planning for a permenant occupation of Kurkistan?No comments. Kurkistan has responded by arresting the U.H. embassador while trying to evacuate the contry to North Farik, Upper Highland's allied country. There is also reports of women and children fighting on the front lines.

High-Chancellor Vadris sipped his coffee and mulled over the daily reports. He was a tall, slender man (as most Rillorian men were) with jet-black hair and piercing green eyes. He flicked though economic reports and ledgers. All of a sudden with loud creak, the Imperial chamber doors burst open. In walked an Army Officer is full dress-whites. The High-Chancellor looked up as the man crisply came to attention and saluted.
"Good morning Marshal Trask, what news do you bring me at such an hour?"
"Sir, it appears as though the forces of Upper Highlands have invaded neighbouring Kurkistan." replied Trask still standing at a stiff attention.
"Gather the council Marshal."

An hour later...

Imperial Council Room, Imperial Palace
The High Chancellor sat at the head of a magnificent oak table. Marshal Trask sat to his left. Four other officers and a man in an expensive, ornate suit sat with him. The High-Chancellor leaned in and spoke.
"Gentlemen, I want boots on the ground in Kurkistan within 48 hours."
A silence remained in the room.
"Send a message to the Upper Highlands government. Tell them that we will not stand by and let them conquer Kurkistan without giving us a cut."
The generals and other officers laughed and then waited for the High-Chancellor to leave the room before standing.

Communique to Upper Highlands

The Imperial Chancellorship of Rilloras demands that you cease all military operations into Kurkistan. If you do not, we will be forced to pursue military action against your nation.

The president is sitting in his chairs looking at the reports of the casualtie, he looks up and smiles, satisfied. Only 2 of the 15 000 men have perished in this first strike. South-Kurkistan is now under U.H. control, and the rest of it should come in less then a week if there is no complications. The terrorists attack on U.H. soil was the perfect pretext to invade this small but very ressourcefull country. Kurkistan, by sattelite reports have huge underground mines of Uranium that the country couldn't exploit due to its very limited ressources. Suddenly a men comes in: "Sir, you have received a transmission from The Empire of Rilloras". He presses on a button on the wall and the giant screen in front of him opens. "The Imperial Chancellorship of Rilloras demands that you cease all military operations into Kurkistan. If you do not, we will be forced to pursue military action against your nation." Immedialty after, the presidents says to the men: " Call all of my adviors and generals, put the country on red alert. Also, bring the Chief Attorney at my office at once."

"By the powers that are given to my I solemnly declare the 66th amendment"
"The Emergency Marshall Ammendment,but it has never been done before.."
"Just do it"

Prime-Minister Spencer heard the recent news on U.H. invasion on Kurkistan. Spencer knew the recent terrorist attacks on U.H. main cities, horrible deaths, and misery could be seen as cameras traveled across the streets full of bodies. Spencer called General Brown, Commander of the Land Staff.
"General Brown, I think you've heard the news. Call General Johansen and Fastow, oh and we'll need Admiral Blair so take them to Council Chamber." Commanded Prime-Minister Spencer.
"Yes sir I heard them. We'll gather ASAP."

Today, on press conference the President Bang announced the invocation of the 66th amendment, or the Marshall Law. At the same time there has been a debarquement of millitary personnel nationwide, the amendment seriously restricts civil rights in many way for the benefit of national security. This is the first time in history something of this envegure happens. The reasons for these procedures are unknowned.
Here are the major aspects of the 66th amendment:
-Curdew at 10h00
-No civilians allowed in a 400 foot radius from governement buildings
-Citizens are requiered to have identification papers on them at all time
-No mandates are neccessary for an arrestation
-Reintroduction of the Death Sentence for high threason
-School and other educational institutions are closed until further notice
-All citizen or non-citizen seen as a threat to the national security will be arrested
-All civilians are required to inform authorities of any suspicious activity

"Prior to your transmission, we would like to unify with your country. There is information your nation should be informed of. Our country has sattelite pictures of underground mines of Uranium, we acted fast and within 48 hours we retaliated. We suspect Rolliras is aware of the presence of those mines wich would explain its sudden intrest in Kurkistan. You now know the gravity of the situation, if they where to get there hands on this Uranium, this could be the end of free world. Due to the severeness of our situation I suggest quick and brutal retaliation againt Rolliras, this includes collateral damage. We must stop them at ANY COST and we will use whatever means neccessary."

Meanwhile, the front lines are being reinforced with 20 000 more troops, 1200 heavely armored vehicule, 5000 light armored vehicule, 800 millitary helicopter, 88 combat helicopter, 12 elite jetfighters. The artillery is pounding harder then ever. Already, Upper Highlands hold half of the country up until the Jamara desert where there still is Kurkish resistence, but by the end of the hour, the U.F.U.H. will have dealt with it. There is more then enough troops to invade Kurkistan, the public is woundering why all those precautions.

Land Staff Command Center, Leeston
General Brown walked down the aisle looking at some deployment reports. But as soon as he stopped walking he saw a man running with what it looked a very important matter.
"Sir, we received a message from U.H." Said th man.
"Thank you, Lt. I'll check these in my office." Brown looked at the message from U.H. he looked surprised.
He sat down and grabbed the phone. "Prime-Minister Brown, we have access granted all we need is your permission to go green."
Spencer looked by the window and saw the guards smoking.

"GRANTED, General. I want everything available at the moment to help U.H. let's hope we do it good." Exclamated Spencer.
"We will sir, trust us." Said General Brown calling his assistant.

Fort Truman, outsides of Leeston. 1600 Hours.

Major General Thompson, Commander of the 1st Armored Division was in a meeting with his regiment Commanders when he was interrupted.
"Sorry for the interruption, General. We have permission for deployement at Kurkistan." Informed the man.
"Thank you Captain, message the division. I want them ready at T-Minus 15 minutes." Commanded MAJGEN Thompson.
"Yes Sir, Inmediately." he ran towards HQ to deliver the message.

ooc: I will presume Rolliras sends in a massive number of troops at the same moment Royal Union does.

We have reports of Rolliran troops reinforcing the kurkish army in the center of the Jamara desert, the where no declaration as to the reasons for this sudden act of hostility. The Royal Union has also affirmed that it will join the fight, not giving any indication wathsoever to the media for their reasons for this sudden intrest in Kurkistan. This is the beggining of a War, its reasons unkowned and very suprising to the public. What seemed like a minor millitary operation turned to a conflict between 4 nations in just 48 hours.

Transmission begins

Royal troops are very well appreciated at this time of crisis. Communication is at essence between are two nations, so we would like to set a meeting regarding the strategy and the role of our seperate nations in this conflict. Our 82nd and 53rd company have entered the Uranium mines, but our sattelite scans have detected multiple entry point, two in the Rolliran side. It is the first time in history we have to deal with underground warefare, and so we are trying to develop new techiques and strategy as fast as we can. It is just a matter of time before they find a way to get into the mines.

Kurkistan, 32km North of the Capital
As more and more Rillorian troops landed at the air field that the Imperial Engineers Corps had constructed, Marshal Trask grinned. This would be the first test of Rillorian military might since the War of Illanian Aggression four years ago. Since then a massive influx of funding had boosted the Imperial Rillorian Army, Navy and Air Forces to new heights. A Logistics Officer approached and saluted the Marshal.
"Sir, the 34th Imperial Army Group is almost fully arrived. All equipment is accounted for."
Marshal Trask eyed the massive amounts of equipment, APCs, Tanks and other Armoured vehicles being offloaded from cargo planes.
"Excellent. Prepare defensive positions in accordance with our Kurkistani allies. Have Colonel Odessa prepare sorties for his Squadrons. I want complete air-dominance."
"Yes sir."

Kurkistani Airspace, near the UH border
Captain Greene glanced an his radar screen. His gleaming new MiG-35 glinted in the sun. He made a sharp turn and clicked on his radio.
"Yellow flight, yellow flight. Ground-Contact bearing 1-0-5. Engage at will."

The UH Tank column crawled across the barren landscape as seven missiles sped towards them. The war had begun.

No one noticed the man as he walked up to the Upperhighland building. As he walked into the doors he noticed something strange they were not dressed as Upperhighlanders, but as Kurkistans this was bad very bad... He had to do something to protect the innocents inside. He left the building and said,"Change of plans there Kurkistans inside were going to slaughter them all to protect the officials inside.

As the man now joined by another man walked in one pulled out a flash bang and threw it while the other looks away. As they were blinded the man pulled out a UZI and mowed them all down. "That was is?" yeah that was it"

Today, we have to confirmation of the death of 11 kurkish refugee attempting to gain refuge in a govrnement building near the Kurkish border.

"I forgot my keys inside, so I went back inside to get them, I realized there where a dozen arabs and without thinking I went to get security and they immiediatly shot them down."

This is not the first accident, the state of panic and uncertainty is growing, we have reports of more then 5 accidents of the sort.Yesterday, a 15 years boy of kurkish origin was beaten to death by his schoolmate accusing him of beeing a terrorist.

The president looked up at the man in the eye and said: "Is this absolutly neccessary?"
"Yes, Sir. Unfortunatly it is."

The X-5 virus, develloped 3 years ago by mistake. Actually it was supposed to be the ultimate cure for Tumors. A bacterie that would feed on the tumor and then die. Unfortunatly, after there is no tumor it feeds itslef to the skin and then to the muscles and to the vital parts. The death comes within 9 hours, and is very painful. It is also extremely contagious and has a death toll of 99%. The 55 scientist working at the labratory where all killed by the virus, luckily, the governement intervined just in time to stop the virus from spreading further. This was classified UMBRA secret, wich is the highest level of classification there is.

A doctor is giving a shot to a men in his fortys affected of brain tumor.

The men starts to have symptoms, the skin reddens.
3hours after
We can clearly see that something has gone wrong, huge pieces of skin are missing on the mans face.

By that time the men is screaming in agony, almost none of his skin left
8hours after
The men is spitting chunks of his lungs, some of his bones completly exposed

Death is declared, the men is not reckongnizable.

A kurkish child, about 8 years old, was running towards a group of soldiers he knew where friendly. He is confused, about 1 hour ago, a group of men in white dress equiped with a masked had just given him a shot and let him go, they did not explain anything. Seeing the child, one of the soldiers takes him by the hand and brings him back to the group. They finaly decide to go back to camp and put the kid in a safe place.

Close to Uranium Fields, Kurkistan 1500 Hours

Major General Thompson arrived to command the operation. He saw how tanks and heavy artillery arrived to land. He was in charge of the 1st Armored Division, in charge of 300 tanks and complex artillery equipment. Colonel Fuji, commander of the 65th Tank Regiment ran towards HQ to meet MAJGEN Thompson.
"Glad to see you, General. We have almost completed deployement, we are just missing the 2nd Engineer Regiment and we are ready for starting the operation." Said Fuji.
"Good to know, Colonel. See me as soon as they arrive. Oh! Colonel, arm and place Air-Defense artillery ASAP, we must always be careful." Commanded Thompson.
"Yes, Sir." Colonel Fuji said.

3 Hours Later

"Sir, artillery is ready and the 2nd Engineer Regiment has arrived." Said Fuji.
MAJGEN Thompson saw the Uranium mines closely.
"Colonel, prepare defensive positions for now. But I want a squad to explore these Uranium mines. I want to know what's in there." Explained Thompson.
"Ummm, Yes Sir." Said Fuji.

Commander-General(chief of state) Harjaliz of the kurkistan couldn't believe his eyes when he saw the pictures of the 22nd infantry company. They where 484 mens in this company, and they are all dead. All of them where unreckognizable, there body had no skin attached to it and there faces where distorted by agony.
His phone rang, he awnsered
"We want full and complete surrender from your country, or we will be forced to spread the virus in your major cities. This is our final warning, you have 24 hours. If we learn that you haved warned in any ways the Rillorian Empire, we will not hesitate to take action. Don't worry we will notice it." The phone hung up.

"Those mines finaly are a true plague, I thought it would pull our country out of misery. Obviously I was wrong."

1 hour later the commander anounced the surrender of kurkish troops to his generals and the preparation started.

Our country has taken over Kurkistan's Army, most of the Kurkish troops have surrendered although some company who do not accept the order remains to fight alongside with the Rollirans. This is good news because the Uranium fields where defended by Kurkistan, it will not be long before Rolliras rienforces the mines, but it will still give us time to set up a defense. Heavy anti-air defense is being set up as we speak, no ennemy aircraft will be able to approach the mines in a 10 miles radius at least. I suggest that your nation start securing the formal kurkish sector, while we continue building up our defences. Our satelite have reported 2 entries to the mines, but there is no garranty that they are not more. Be prepared for heavy artillery, heavy assault.

Headquarters, Kurkistan

The squad sent by MAJGEN THompson arrived from a close inspection to the Uranium mines. Captain Gusky ran towards Thompson and saluted.
"General sir, pure Uranium. Nothing more." Said Gusky.
"Thank you Captain. Wait for further instructions." Said Thompson.
Later, at the radio room everybody started exclaiming. "They have surrendered! War is over!"
Thompson entered and looked surprised. He knew they couldn't lose those mines.
"NO! We'll stay here and guard these mines. They are too precious to just leaving them here. I suggest Air Staff members start building an air field. We will stay here for a long time."
Thompson prepared a Coffee and sat in his office.

We have report of an enitre Kurkish rebel Kurkish Company hiding in the mines, they are well armed and they know the caves very well. This is an Urgent problem, they could greatly comprimise this mission. We have set up an elite special force squad of 20 men to deal with them and we would like for you to do the same, they must be dealt with fast. You should protect your men with anti-radiation uniforms we can provide ou with, the levels of radiation are lethal. DO NOT BRING ANY EXPLOSIVES IN THE CAVES. There is no way of communication with our mens in the caves, so make sure your men know what they have to do.

MAJGEN Thompson received the transmission from U.H. He seemed surprised and glad at the same time. He knew he had to save those Uranium Mines from Kurkish rebels.
"Colonel Fuji, prepare Alpha Group inmediately. Mines have been raided by Kurkish rebels. It's up to you to participate with them." Said Thompson.
"I will sir, inmediately. Sir, why do you talk so mch 'bout these mines?" Questioned Colonel Fuji.
"Just curiosity we have to protect our surroundings. Go now, ASAP!"
Colonel Fuji and his men prepared. They received their Anti-Radiation masks and suits. They came in.

"The Bad Moderfuckers"

A group of 20 men where entering the mines at a slow but steady pace. They had been given a mission, and they will not fail. All of them have at leat 20 years of experience and have participated in other mission of importance, but this one was the true test of their abilities. Sergant Rown gave the order to his men to move in. First they had to find the terrorist, and then assault them. They had to be quick, if not the terrorist could trigger an explosion and that would be very bad, for everybody. "We may encounter Royals guys so watch your fire, terrorists are to be shot on sight. Common lets give them HELL."

Uranium Mines, Kurkistan

Colonel Fuji and his team were 20 meters waway from the entrance. Fuji saw its surroundings, everything was normal. Sgt. Major Richards looked behind and front in search of something abnormal. The 25 men entered the mine without doubts until they found the U.H team.
"Ok soldiers, get in. Watch your heads." said Fuji.
Corporal Anderson was the last of the line until he saw 2 vehicles behind him.
"EVERYBODY IN! Anderson's dead, GO GO GO GO!"

"Earlier today Kurkistani forces surrendered to Upper Highlands Command. With the use of biological weapons by UH forces, the High-Chancellor has ordered total and immediate all out war, condemning the attacks as barbaric and against the Geneva Convention."

Imperial Palace, Rilloria City
The High-Chancellor sat in his office. A man in an expensive-looking suit sat across. The man dragged on a cigarette and spoke, exhaling the smoke.
"We have initiated operations sir, as ordered."
"Who will be the figurehead?"
The High-Chancellor leaned closer.
"We've rescued several key Kurkistani politicians and military officers who are still loyal to the Kurkistani nation. One man, a former-governor, will do the trick quite nicely."
"His name?"
"William Greenslade."
"Perfect, help him prepare."
"As you command sir." He took the last puff of the cigarette and extinguished it in the ash tray on the desk before turning and leaving the room.

Office of Imperial Intelligence Command
William Greenslade, a native Kurkistani and former governor, stood at a podeum. A large Kurkistani flag hung in the background. A camera recorded his speech.

"I, William Greenslade, a former Governor of Kurkistan, do hereby take the office of President of the sovereign, independent nation of Kurkistan. I, along with several key politicians and military officials, will assume the offices immediately and, with the backing of our Rillorian allies, vow to rid our great nation of the invaders from the Upper Highlands."

Th transmission was broadcast all over Kurkistan, Rilloria, the UH and the general area.

"I, William Greenslade, a former Governor of Kurkistan, do hereby take the office of President of the sovereign, independent nation of Kurkistan. I, along with several key politicians and military officials, will assume the offices immediately and, with the backing of our Rillorian allies, vow to rid our great nation of the invaders from the Upper Highlands."

In response with the declaration, the president urgently ordered a press conferance.

"This message is adressed to all kurkistans. Our governement will not tolerate rebels, we assure you we are acting in your country's best intrest. However, anybody who joins this so called organization that promotes further violence will be seen as terrorist and severe action will be taken. Your contrie suffers from terrible povrety, practically no economy Upper Highlands can offer you great assistance, your nation will have an elected Kurkish governor that will represent you in U.H. parliament, and your religious belief will be respected. We are not enemies, think about the future of your nation, think about your children who will be able to go to school instead of going to work in a coal mine. Think of the future."
We can see that the journalists have tones of questions but, the president walked out of the room to his office without awnsering any of them.

"Sir what do we do now"
"I want my best diplomates all shiped to the UN headquarters, try to limitate the damage"

"I want to know where the leak came from, this is simply unaceapteble it was classified UMBRA secret how the HELL did it come out!"
"This means it comes from pretty high up, I can count the number of people who have UMBRA clearence with my two hands. This is going to be VERY bad, it will stain the government's reputation real good. Sir, I may need to use unconstitutional methods for extracting information, and I need your okay."

Rollirian Secret Agent was tied up on a chair and had several bruises and blood all over his face. Two mens dressed in suit where interrogating him.
"Now I am going to ask you one more time, who do you have in the inside?"

A men came in the room and brought a tv in, he opened it and on the screen appeared 1 women and 2 children tied up to a chair, besides them to men where holding UZI's.
At the sight of this the Rolliran started to scream out "Fucking Bastards if you touch my familly I swear I will kill you."

But it was to late on the screen one of the men shot the women.
"NO!!!"
" Now if you want to see your kids again you better talk"

The Chancellor of Intelligence leaned back in his chair. The office was sparsely decorated. He read the report on his desk.

He leaned forward and clicked the button located on his desk. A voice answered immediately.
"Sir?"
The Chancellor cleared his throat.
"Send execution code: Apollo."

UH holding facility
Apollo had broken, despite all of his training. He knew this was something that IIC would not tolerate. As his interrogators kept beating and torturing him for information, he knew what was coming. One of the men stopped momentarily.
"Ready to talk, spy?" asked the UH Officer.
Apollo just laughed and spit blood into the mans face. The clamps on his heart valves installed in all Imperial Operatives clamped when activated by the signal from the IIC. He writhed in pain for an instant, then went limp. Apollo was dead.

Somewhere in Kurkistan...
Provisional-President Greenslade sat at the desk of his Presidential office. He looked over the figures coming in of Kurkistani Nationalist militias and army units that were mustering to form units in the new Kurkistani Armed Forces. A man sat across from the president.
"Are these figures accurate Marshal?" asked Greenslade astonished.
"They are correct Mr. President. Roughly 80% of your standing military at the time of surrender has moved to support you as well as local armed militias and reserve units. Our military advisers are organizing them as we speak. Uniforms, weapons and equipment are being offloaded at the airport as we speak. The Chancellorship of Rilloras is eager to help you defeat these invaders."
"We appreciate your help Marshal, send regards to the High-Chancellor."

Headquarters, Kurkistan

MAJGEN Thompson had lost contact with the special team inside the mines.
"What the HELL happened, Brown?!" Said Thompson.
A tall, seriously wounded man had just arrived. "General Thompson! They've attacked us severly. Everybody's dead including the Sgt. Major. I could escape luckily." Said the man without air.
"GODAMNIT! I want everybody ready, an invasion may be ready to co--"
A radio transmission came in.

The president had just arrived from its meeting with the grand coucil of military staff. He walked to his office and suddenly his phone rang.
"President, it's General Thompson. The Vice-President of UH has died of a supposed heart attack. Kurkish Capital has been secured but there is too many rebel groups in the city, reported by Special Operation groups." Said Thompson.
"Well, you have my permission to do whatever is possible to calm down the citizens. Watch out for this new forming military, they may be not well equipped or badly trained, but they are lots. So be careful."
"Yes sir, I suggest you send another regiment to the capital. It seems more dangerous everyday." Instructed Thompson.
"Granted General, send Tank Regiments if possible." Said the President.

Colonel Hunde verified the area. Soldiers were on their posts with their M4's in position. Meanwhile Lt. Hares with two other soldiers checked a bus going inside the city.
"Sir, this city has everyday more minor uprisings. We can control it but they will become more aggresive each day." Said Lt. Hares.

Sgt. Major Richards was at the entrance of the caves. He had been severely knocked out by Rebels. He touched his neck and felt a big bruise. Looked around and saw the Division packing, while he ran he heard someone singing and then gas coming out from the Mines.

Our forces control roughly half of Kurkistan, we will hold this area with our military forces while allowing for training and re-equipping of the Kurkistani Nationalist Forces. When they are ready, they may begin offensives of their own."
The advisors and Imperial Officers looked at him, trying to figure out what he meant.
"Gentlemen. I do not wish to have a massacre on our hands. Even the combined militaries of the Upper Highlands and the Royal Union pale in comparison to our extensive, well-funded armies."
One of the Vice-Marshals spoke.
"But sir, we could easily crush both nations and restore the government of Kurkistan with our armies, do you remember the Urmela Conflic..."
"I REMEMBER IT VICE-MARSHAL!" interrupted the High-Chancellor shooting a piercing glare at him. He took a breath and continued.
"I do not wish to conquer Kurkistan. I want an independent Kurkistan, run by President Greenslade, or some other President of the people's choosing. Prepare defensive positions and do not order any more offensives. Concentrate on training and equipping the Kurkistanis. They know how to fight a war, just as we do. This meeting is adjourned gentlemen."
The table sat still until the High-Chancellor had left the room.

Kurkistan 0500 Hours
In the mountains Lt. Harris stood with his platoon. Nothing seemed to move, not a tree moved, there wasn't wind, water or sun. Seemed strange.
"Alpha 1 to Eagle 1, Over." Said Harris.
"Copied Alpha 1?."
"Eagle 1, there is no movement of enemy forces everything seems normal, over."
"Roger, Alpha 1 stay in position until further instruction."

At the Grand Council of Military Staff
General Brown received reports from Command Centre.
"What's happening? No action has been made by enemy forces." Said Brown.
The president arrived from a meeting. He looked at everyone and sat.
"Ok, what has happened until now?" Said the President.
"Nothing, Sir. Not one enemy soldier has moved."
"DAMN! We gotta eliminate them. General Fuzz, Air Force time has come. Prepare a massive bombing maneuver and then infantry and armor vehicles will engage." Commanded the President.
"Inmediately, Sir." Fuzz walked towards his office and grabbed a phone.
"Colonel Oden? Prepare a Bomber Battalion. We will raid the mountain."
"Inmediately Sir."

Kurkish Skies

The skies were suddenly black. 32 Class A Bombers raided the sky and went directly towards the infected mountain.
"Eagle's Nest this is Red Fox 2, preparing empty maneuver."
"Roger Red Fox 2, engage operation White Light."
500 Igition Bombs falled through the skies.

Meanwhile at land Lt. Harris and his platoon saw how rebels burned and fell through the mountain.

"Eagle's Nest, this is Red Fox 2. Mission Successful. Now it's up to Infantry."

Independant Kurkistani airspace near the border of the occupied zone

Captain Mironovich watched the Royal Union fighters and bombers strafing Nationalist positions in the mountains. He cursed the fact that they couldn't help. He looked to his left and saw the other three MiG-31s of Gold Flight, which he commanded. He clicked on his radio.
"Gold flight, gold leader. Descend to 7,000ft to provide cover to routed Nationalists, over."
Static crackled on the mic. The four MiGs began their descent from 12,000ft. As they came through the clouds, they saw hundreds of retreating soldiers and armour rumbling toward Rillorian lines. Quick on their tail were Royal Union fighter-bombers, wreaking havoc on the terrified soldiers. Rillorian AA guns blasted away and AA missiles filled the skies above the front lines, engaging enemy aircraft. A pair of Royal Union fighters accelerated into view.
"Gold two, gold leader. Break and engage. Target only fighters operating in Nationalist space, over."
"Gold leader, gold two. Roger, out."
As the fighters closed the gap, Capt. Mironovich got a positive lock from his targeting computer. He pulled the trigger. An AA-X-13 missile unclipped from the wing of his craft and ignited, speeding toward the target. With a tremendous ball of fire, it clipped the enemy plane in the fuel tank. Debris filled the sky. As he glanced downward, he saw Gold two being pursued by the other enemy fighter. Before he could react, the green blip on his screen vanished, leaving only a red one. He threw the plane on afterburner trying to catch the Royal Union fighter but it was too close to the No-fly-zone and made it back across safely. As the three remaining MiGs in Gold flight turned to head back to base, Capt. Mironovich swore he'd be back to finish the fight.

"Sir, figures from our skirmishes with Royal Union and UH forces are very positive. Our lines are holding remarkably well on all fronts. A certain...Captain Mironovich of the 13th Intercept Squadron scored our first air-to-air victory this morning."
The High-Chancellor sighed.
"Give him a medal then, Imperial Air Force Commendation Medal. What about Nationalist forces, how do they fair?"
"Well, several key areas held outside the Imperial zones were lost due to lack of equipment and supplies. We are still training many of the other Nationalist personnel and they should be a competent fighting force very soon sir."
"Good. I don't want to fight this whole damn war for them. Continue to hold our present positions and set up a meeting with Royal Union as well as Upper Highlands officials. Theres no reason we can't be civil and see what we can come up with in regards to this conflict."

All 32 bombers arrived from the massive invasion towards nationalist occupied zone. Colonel Oden walked to the field to recieve the pilots. He saw everybody and counted less pilots than earlier.
"Where is Lt. O'Connor? What happened to him!" Asked Oden.
Capt. Husky looked with a sad face towards Oden. He rolled a tear in his cheek.
"He's fighter was shot. They had AA weaponry, he couldn't escape. I'm sorry sir." Replied Husky
Oden looked at each pilot. He was a damn good pilot, better than anybody of you. He will earn the Red Cross, for gallantry and courage in the air.
"Damn those Nationalists, I will personally fly a fighter in the name of Lt. O'Connor." Oden grabbed a helmet and grabbed a phone.

The transmission had just arrived. The president's secretary arrived to the Grand Council and gave the letter to the president. The President read the transmission carefully.
"We've done alot of damage to Kurkistan. Maybe we should arrange a meeting as it states here."
Generals and Admirals looked at each other confused.
"Gentlemen, I suggest we must arrange a meeting but these peace negotiations must have some conditions. We can't just let them grow a big corrupt government again. We must impose some conditions." Said the President.

Enemy-held mountains inside Kurkistan, 0100hrs
The unmarked chopper glided through the valleys and peaks of the mountains like a shadow. As they reached the LZ, it touched down and six men disembarked. The helicopter then lifted back of and sped back to Imperial lines. The six soldiers moved quickly to coordinate. They were dressed in unmarked camouflage uniforms. They wore no dog tags and held no ID of any kind. Their hair was longer than regulation and some even sported short beards or mustaches. To the highest echelon of Rillorian Imperial Command, they were the elite of the Imperial Special Airborne Unit. To everyone else, they were ghosts, they didn't exist. These men were bred for one purpose. They were silent and ruthlessly efficient. To most they were a myth, the stuff of nightmares and the tricks of the mind often experienced by green troops.
"Black team, move." hissed the Sergeant.

Kurkistan, Royal Union held communications outpost, 0124hrs
Sergeant Krasnov eyed the target. It was a communications array and small compound captured by RU forces during the retreat. He signaled the rest of his squad and they silently moved into position. Corporal Keefe crept up closer then the rest. His eyed the guard closest to him, smoking a cigarette. He moved closer, waiting. Another guard approached, they stopped and chatted. As the second guard turned and began walking the other way, Keefe moved to strike. With a single, swift and quiet movement he grabbed the smoking guard and ended his life with precisely positioned knife strikes. He gently placed the guard down into darkness. He reached down and readied his silenced pistol. With a shot the second guard collapsed. Keefe reached down and picked up the casing. He then snuck forward and moved the second guard with the first. The rest of the team moved in and eliminated each of the guards with near-complete silence. As they moved forward into the camp, Sergeant Krasnov crept into the Officer's tent. They were soundly sleeping. He ended their lives, one by one. After all the camp's personnel were eliminated, they placed thermal charges on the arrays and equipment. Sgt. Krasnov ordered his men to get the bodies as well as collect the casings and any trace of their presence. This was their specialty, leaving no trace. They called for extraction. The chopper approached and loaded up the squad as well as all the bodies.

The camp was deserted. No signs of struggle, no bodies. A small amount of smoke rose from the destroyed arrays and equipment which had burned all night. Apart from that, nothing remained, not even evidence regarding the disappearance of an entire guard unit.

The President was part of the RU delegation with 3 other high class diplomats. He saw the surroundings, there was nothing left, smoke rose from everywhere he looked.
"Wow, we sure gavet them hell." said the President.
General Thompson saw the president walking towards the little farm. He grabbed his arm and looked at him with an angry look.
"Sir, communications outpost number 3 is down. There is no trace of officers in charge or anyone. We believe they were captured or assasinated. Sir, the people n charge of this were EXPERT there is no trace of cigarettes or even boot marks." Thompson looked suspicously at everyone.
The president was shocked he couldn't believe what Thompson had just said.

"Yes, my lord. Everything goes as planned. I also received a report from back home. The AIS raided a man's home and found a virus there. After 10 hours of torture the man revealed it to be the X-5 thing. Our scientists are working on a way to kill the virus. After they manage to kill it, we won't have to wait for them to attack first."

"Gentlemen, this summit must go off without a hitch. I want our forces on full alert. There will be no offensive action. The Imperial Grenadier Guard will provide security for the summit. President Greenslade will be escorted by four Kurkistani Presidential Guard chosen by his staff. Inform the other delegations that they will be allowed a maximum of four armed bodyguards. Any more and they will be denied access to the summit."
The High-Chancellor uncrossed his arms. One of his Marshals leaned in and spoke.
"Sir, what about the Pro Patrian nuclear threats?"

Before we start the negociations, here are our conditions to serve as a basis of argument between our nation. We are ready to give Kurkistan up, but only after a referendum regarding the sovrenity of the country. For humanity's best intrest, Uranium must not fall into Pro Patrian hands, so they would be excluded of any deal we make. The scientist responsible of newly founded X-5 program, Sebastian Krug, hadn't made much progress other than to determine the virus' properties and find a way to produce it on a massive scale to use for biological weapons.

So he went to interrogate the prisoner further. Accompanied by two guards and a camcorder he stepped into the holding cell. "Right. Tell me more about this virus. How do we kill it? How do we produce a vaccine?", Krug said.
"There's no way to kill it or produce a vaccine" was the reply.
"Tell me something new for a change or you're gonna spend a life time in slavery. If my superiors don't decide to execute you instead, that is."
The prisoner gave him the same answer again and again, and Krug lost his temper. He grabbed a baton from one of the guards and started beating the prisoner's face with it. "Bring me acid." he said.

Krug got his acid and asked the prisoner again, whose face was already covered in blood. In desperation, the prisoner started screaming and tried to free himself from his chains. With a swift kick in the guts from one of the guards, the prisoner was silenced. Krug took some of the acid and poured it on the prisoner, who immediately started screaming again. After Krug was done with his torture, he gave the prisoner a last kick in the face, took the camcorder and left.

The tape was sent to the Emperor and was included in a video message:
The Emperor was wearing his imperial robes as usual with guards on both of his sides. "Greetings from the Pro Patrian empire, Mr. President. I've been informed by my intelligence officers about your message to the Rirollas. The empire has no interest in your uranium mine as we have been blessed with several rich deposits, but my scientists would like to have more information about this virus you have developed. In exchange, we will release the prisoner we currently have in custody. Video footage from the prison he is currently held in will be included to assure you of him being alive."

The president recieved the message, he then took his phone and called Intel to have the prisoner's report. His name was George Mcfarlan, he had 21 years of experience and was extremely loyal to the country. The president knew he wouldn't mind dying for UH. He called his Presidential Elite Operation Unit, witch was Upper Highland's most experienced, most deadly and most feared combat unit that responded directly to the president and to no one else. "Mister president, is there something we can do for you."
"We have traced the location of a PPP holding facility, kill all scientist that are working on the X-5 virus, destroy all data on the virus, destroy all virus samples and while your at it free our spy."

22 hours later PPP Holding Facility.

The 10 men forming the P.E.O.U team had just breached the bunker, video camera where set on loop and everything appeared perfectly normal. Two men where garding the door, they where dealt with easly by the op's silcenced MP's. The first door required a fingerprint scan, so one of the men cut the finger off of the guard and scaned it, the door opened. The knew the map of the place by heart and Logistic had full acess to the security cameras so they where aware of the locations of the guards. The bunker contained 4 stories underground, all of it linked to the same air filter located on the 2nd story. They also didn't know the access code to the 4th floor containing the research facility on the x-5 virus, so they had to get it from the director on the third floor before they released the nerve gas. All of this had to be done without triggering the alarm. Silently they took care of the guards they passed and they seperated into 2 groups of 5 men Alpha and Bravo. Alpha was in charge of securing the Air filtering facility and to stand by for Bravo to extract the security code from the director. They came to the elevator and inserted the security code they where given by logistic, it worked. Alpha group got off on the 2nd floor while Bravo on the third. Alpha got off, they where heard by a group of security guard who ran in their direction, but they where all killed before they could fire a single shot. They used the most discret route the the Air Filters nd when they got to the door, two men where guarding it. One was dealt with bullets, while the other was taken from behind, a knife on its neck and a hand on its mouth. The men holding him whispered "The code". In response the guard bitted his hand "Sun of a bitch", the ops took his knife and pulled out the men's eye. The guard tried to scream in pain but the sound was covered by the ops hand. "Now you tell me the code or I will take your other eye." "6549218". He entered the code and the door opened, the five ops entered and one of them took his com and said "Sector 1 secured Over", Bravo responded "...we hear gun shots Our position is compromised, we are in the director's office, realease the gas now Over." One of the men went on the computer that controled witch room was filtered and sealed this room along with the director's office and the prisoner's cell. He then took a container out of his pack and placed it inside the Air Filters. 20 secounds later, the gas was released. On the security screen, logistic saw everybody falling down like dying flies. Bravo had just killed the last guard in the room, the director took a gun from under his office and tried to kill himself, but the ops was quicker, one of them shot him in the hand and he droped his gun. They attached him to his chair. One of the men pulled out a needle witch contained medecine capable of creating pain beyond imagination. The director was injected with it, and after a huge scream of agony, he relucantly gave the men the code. Alpha and Bravo immediatly headed for the basement floor. Everyone was dead, so they was no problem. First the entered the reshearch facility, inserting a virus on all the computers that would destroy all data. They secured the X-5 samples and destroyed it by imbibing the sample in high grade acid (ooc you can destroy the virus if it is in a sample, but once it gets into the human body it has no cure since the amount of acid neccessary to kill it is as lethal as the virus itself)IC They then went into the prisoner's cell to find the spy disfiguered, but allive. They headed up to the extraction point where a helicopter was waiting for them. The helicopter brought them to a improvised airport, where a civil plane was waiting for them. By the time PPP found out what had happened, PEOU where hundreds of km out of the empire's border.

The artillery returned fire with 180mm incendiary grenades and thousands upon thousands of cruise missiles (both chemical and normal) were launched from the Kaiser-type destroyers, their targets were the enemy artillery.

All this was done in perfect coordination with advancing tanks and infantry. As promised, the first attack wave consisted mainly of political prisoners trying to regain their places in society and other criminals, followed closely by supportive armour and legions from the regular armed forces. Some 200,000 men took part in the initial attack.

OOC 135 000 artillery cannons create an impenatrable barrage, so if you send 200 000 men, only 5000-8000 might survive. We have a very sophisticated anti missile system, and so it is impossible to target our major cities with them, maybe some small towns in the north where it is less protected. But the maximum damage would be 5000 to 10 000 civilians, and no millitary infrastructure (with missiles that is).

OOC: Yeah, your artillery can create an impenetrable barrier when they're being bombarded with 180mm grenades. Oh well, I'm off to bed, gonna post tomorrow.
Edit: Oh, and I'm not exactly sure how long the border is but taking into account that the 200,000 men would be spread out evenly along the border the artillery fire will either have to concentrate in a specific area or also spread out.

Meanwhile at UH border.

The soldiers laughed when they saw the ennemies charging. Blind blavery alimented their actions. Those men where falling like flies to their machine gun and artillery. The defences looked so impenetrable, soldiers felt invincible in their bunkers. In the original charge, the casualties are of 354 men, 556 wounded for the UH. On the other side, however, the deaths are much more significant. At the end, 4567 prisoners where taken. They where moved to a ennemy combattant prison where they are threated according to UFUH constitution.

"So, the first attack failed. No worries, gentlemen. If this 2nd attack fails, I've been authorized to use the Black Sun.", Hinka said.

The imperial artillery, backed up by the Kaiser-type destroyers launched volley after volley to the positions of the enemy artillery. With the ongoing artillery duel, fighters armed with sarin-filled missiles pounded the enemy positions for days.

"Uhh. Looks like they think that we can't reinforce our positions here just because we're 'pinned down'. Send a message back home telling them that we need more penal legions for crushing the enemy lines. In the meantime, continue the attack."

10,000 men from the regular armed forces attacked a weak point in the enemy line of bunkers, which already was severely damaged and under staffed due to the sarin attacks. The attack was supported by fighters and tanks. The positions were taken and secured - all prisoners were sent back for interrogation and trial. Through the newly created hole in the enemy lines, one million men were sent through to force the troops holding the bunkers into surrendering and to create a new frontline behind the bunkers.

In the imperial positions, the enemy artillery fire had taken its toll, thousands were wounded and killed, hundreds of tanks had been destroyed.

Secret Bunker

I want our men behind the lines to close down on ennemy force and put some fucking pressure on them." said Ex Venerate Commander Richard Surray who had been promoted to the Rank of Marshall General, he was now responsible of Land, Air and Naval command since Marshall General Lucas Fermen died in a air raid in a Northern millitary base along with another 11 234 men.

Behind ennemy lines

3456 tanks, 6789 apc along with 5 678 345 men where sent closer to ennemy positions, putting alot of pressure and pinning the ennemy even further.

Near the border

The F-16 took off smouthly and flew in direction of ennemy bunkers in the motherland. After 20 mins of flight, the pilot saw the bunker. He took the safety cap off the joystick and pressed on the red button which threw 2 missiles of great power flying towards the fortified position and its entourage.

Also, I want reports of damages and casualties caused by the F16 in 10 minutes." "It will be done, my lord", replied colonel Stever.

In the imperial lines, some 70 kilometers inland, the praetorian guard legions charged from their positions using POWs and civilians as a human shield and a fierce hand-to-hand fight started in the enemy positions after executing the prisoners and leaping into the trenches. The assault was backed up by the new radiation grenades launched into the backward positions of the enemy.

As far as I know it is possible to make radiation nades with modern knowledge.
It's a dirty bomb that more or less does the same damage to the guy who carried it strapped to his belt all day.

There is also a finite limit on how small a nuke (fission) can be, and that's about 50 pounds of readily fissionable substance plus a casing, not really 'hand grenade' friendly.

Waiting for UH's IC post o.O

Through sources...sources unknown, sources not to be disclosed...sources involved in biological research, scientists who interacted with others at the top of their field, especially other members of the ADAN alliance...word had come to light of a certain virus.
Not much was known about it beyond some clearly exaggerated claims about it's effectiveness, and a code-name: X-5.

This had however been enough to concern Incognitia's Intelligence services, and a quiet effort at gathering information had been begun.
The results had not been pleasing. Had not, in fact, been pleasing at all. It had proven extremely hard to infiltrate the relevant research facilities. Impossible in fact, with people of sufficient skill to know what they were looking at. However a security guard here, a janitor there, a bottle-washer somewhere else...and a broad picture had begun to take shape.
The virus existed, in Upper Highland research labs.
Some mass production had taken place.
And the scientists working on it were terrified of the damn thing.

This report had been filed, and left to slide for a while. After all, it wouldn't do to interfere in an ally's internal affairs, now would it? And young nations so often make mistakes.
Now however, with Upper Highlands engaged in a major shooting war, it had returned to the very top of the in-tray. Especially as their enemy, Pro Patria Puritania, was known to have WMD, and assessed as quite likely to use them if threatened.

So after the Intelligence Minister was finished throwing a temper tantrum (short excerpt: "WHY DOES THIS BLOODY STUFF ALWAYS COME OUT OF THE FUCKING BLUE!!!!"), he took it to the Cabinet.
And once the CAbinet had discussed it, heatedly, they decided the matter would have to be...dealt with.

A message was sent to the members of the ADAN, asking that the alliance rule Upper Highlands could not use X-5 without alliance approval; failing that, that it must NOT be used before an effective vaccine was both in existence and stockpiled.

A message was sent directly to Upper Highlands

We are concerned lest you use this biological weapon, the X-5 virus. We ask that you destroy any OFFENSIVE capability with the virus and focus a major research effort on an effective vaccine. In return we are prepared to provide conventional forces to back your current military efforts, and if necessary to guarantee your independence with our own nuclear deterrent. Biological weapons are not a tool for civilised nations.

An open message was also sent, to all concerned parties and released to the Press.
We have heard worrying reports of biological weaponry in the Upper Highlands/Kurkistan area.
We wish it to be known that any nation using biological weaponry that kills Incognitian citizens on Incognitian soil (i.e. if it spreads beyond the target area) will be treated as having made a WMD assault on Incognitia and dealt with accordingly.

We request immediately samples of the X-5 virus to begin working on an effective vaccine, or at least prophylactic. We are currently pressurising Pro Patria Puritania to dismantle their X-5 program, and if these efforts are successful, will expect you to do the same.

We ask of you to immediately destroy all samples of X-5, and end your weaponisation program. If you do so, we confidently expect to be able to induce Upper Highlands to do so also. If they do not, they will be the ones facing the threat of our nuclear weapons if they use the weapon.

"They want what?", Repke thought out loud after reading the message to the Emperor. "Hah. Tell them that we'll dismantle the program." said the Emperor, Julius Heide. "But..." "Well, we're not ACTUALLY going to dismantle it. We'll just move to operations to the Buchenwald bunkers."
"Oh.. I see. I'll make it happen."

The samples were moved to Buchenwald in heavily guarded convoys. The bunkers' construction had been finished only 2 weeks before becoming the new home for the virus. The slave barracks and the other necessary buildings were still intact and now they were needed again. The slaves were given two choises: execution or a prolonged life in the penal legions of the imperial war machine. Some 10,000 chose to join the army, the rest (around 2,000) were executed. The barracks and other buildings were occupied by the praetorian guard.

North of Upper Highlands

John Basson was the scientist reponsible for the creation of a vaccine for the X-5 virus. He has been working on it non-stop for 6 years with his team of 155 scientist. They're research program, classified top-secret and totally unknowned of the public, received an annual budget of 28 billion USD. In the 6 years that there had been researching, they had tested the virus on 6 787 234 mices, 444 567 dogs, 4565 chimpanzees and many other animal. But today, they had authorization of the president to use a human subject. The man being tested was Mark Cain, serial killer resonsible for the murder of more then 106 women and children, he was given a 10 time life sentance. The President had signed an executive order allowing the use of this man for testing. John belived that he was very close to finding a cure, and he needed to test his vaccine on a human subject.

John walked to the room where the subject was held. Three hours ago he was induced with the X-5 virus. When John arrived, the man was screaming in agony, bits of his flesh falling out and some of his bones exposed. He was screaming :"AAAAAAAAAA Kill me, kill me AAAAAAAA". They could not give anestetics because it would alter with the vaccine he was about to induce. The criminal was held in a highly sealed room and strained to a bed. John put his white plastic suit with his mask on and entered the room with a vaccine in his hands. The man was screaming and hitting his head in all directions, spitting blood while he spoke. John took his arm and injected the serrum. He then walked out of the room.

All of the scientist waited, anxiously for the result of the experiment. Four hours later, everybody was screaming in joy. In 6 years of work they had finnaly found a cure. The subject had stoped showing symptoms and was declared "clean". The subject was taken by two guards to a normal holding cell where he was kept. The lab was estatic and overjoyed. The vaccine was called the Basson Vaccine. At about 3 in the morning, when the party was over, John Basson left the reshearch facility to return home.

The research facility was situated in the North Highlands of the country, about 11 000 habitants in Forttown, where John lived. There was about 5 feet of snow outside and it was very cold, so Basson hurried to his car and drove quickly home. He arrived home extremly tired, he walked to his room where his wife was waiting for him, she was sleeping. John sat on the bed and started coughing very loudly. His wife woke up to the noise, she opened the light and said : "John, what's.. what's wrong?"
John turned around to look at his wife, she immedialty started screaming.
John hurried to the mirror, his eyes and his skin where all red. These where the first symptoms...

Meanwhile hundreds of scientist where returning home with red eyes and red skin. The virus had adapted to the vaccine very quickly. Forttown was ground zero for a massive spread of the X-5 virus.

President's office

"Mister President, two hours ago, we received reports of habitants of Forttown being infected with the X-5 virus. We have to act fast to stop mass panic and the virus to spread further. The only sure thing to stop it would be a nuclear explosion on the area, I assure you, sir, that there is absolutly no other way."

The president nodded and with no hesitation said : "Do it now, we have no choice." He knew the effectivness of the X-5 virus, and it would be FAR FAR more damaging then a nuclear explosion.

Executive order was sent to Millitary Command and a nuclear missile was sent in the area of Forttown. First time the country used nuclear weapons and it is on its own soil.

Forttown

Habitants could see a missile flying over their head heading towards the town. When it landed, a huge explosion occured, complelty destroying the town and the area was radioactive for a 100 km radius. Luckily the area was not very populated, the estimated death toll is around 15 000.

"Look, look. This incident in Forttown will not affect our plans here. Continue with the attack.", was Marshal Hinka's only reaction after hearing what had happened. His generals disagreed, but could not disobey his orders. They knew that there were thousands waiting to take their place. So, the attack continued. The loss of the operatives in Forttown was a necessary loss - and they weren't going to be allowed to return back to the empire anyway, they were only slaves after all.

"But, but, but... What about the promises of giving the slaves and criminals back their civil rights?" uttered general Löwe. "What? You dare question the Emperor's orders? This scum will never be allowed to return back to the empire, no matter if we win this war or not." Hinka screamed, his face turning red. "I always thought you were a true Puritanian but apparently I was wrong. How would you like to join your own penal legions? I'm sure your men would give you a warm welcome." "I apologize, my lord. Is there anything I can do to avoid your wrath?" "As a matter of fact, there is. You see this city on the map? I want you and your pitiful legions to capture it (ooc: Löwe has 15 legions under his command, 225,000 men, 6,000 tanks + aircraft and artillery) and execute everyone who won't bow to our great Emperor." "What about the Ingonitian inspectors back home? Do you think they'll find anything.. I mean, we did screw them in the eye when we told them our X-5 weaponization program was dismantled." asked general Würstenklauer. "Don't worry about it. If I know the good ol' Grand Marshal Repke at all, he'll make those inspectors eat out of his hands before executing them as spies." was Hinka's reply.

Only 10 minutes after the conversation, all of general Löwe's legions, tanks and other armoured vehicles, bombers and fighters took off from their positions and flew/marched/whatever towards the city whose skyline could already be seen. (ooc: insert city name, pls :P) Löwe didn't care about human losses - the only thing he wanted to do was to avoid being sent into a penal legion as a regular soldier. He would have his men kill every living being on the planet before being sent to a penal legion. After 3 hours, the city's skyline was burning and the attack rolled on...

Professor Samuel Jones was an experienced biological researcher, who had spent his whole career working with micro-organisms of various kinds.
In recent years, he had often collaborated with the government's Defence Research Organisation, in their work on detecting, preventing, and curing disease, specifically in terms of biological warfare (BW) agents.
He thus had a lot of experience with the means used to cultivate large quantities of bacteria and virii - after all detectors needed simulants to practice with.
In the time since they'd arrived at the "X-5 Production Facility" he'd gathered a few things, and one of them was that no virus had been produced in large quantities here.
Some preliminary steps had been made in preparing for production, sure, but then they'd been hurriedly removed.
That was a crucial point, in Professor Jones' opinion - they'd been removed, and no-one was able to tell him where they'd gone. All sorts of biotech firms needed equipment like this, sure - as did some perfectly innocent research done in universities and by government departments. So why was there no sign of all the expensive equipment?
And the officials...they weren't being honestly obstructive, but nor were they being honest. Information was slow and difficult to come by.
He wasn't finished yet...oh no, not finished at all; but the time had come to report in.
He typed up a report on what his team of five had found so far, linked his laptop to his satellite phone, and sent it in a data-burst.
No sign of X-5 production on this site. Possibility of X-5 production having simply moved elsewhere very much open. Local officials mildly obstructive. Troop presence oppressive.

Colonel Stever, accompanied by the science commitee's lead scientist, Hans Bügler and of course an entourage of men from the praetorian guard knocked on Jones' door. "Mr. Jones? Open the door, now." When there was no reply, the friendly knocking turned into pounding. "Open the door!" When a surprised Samuel Jones opened the door and asked what was going on, Stever replied "Surely you don't want to spend your time in a dump like this. Get your things, quickly if possible." After Jones was done packing, he was escorted into a limo where he found the other members of his team. "Where are you taking us?" one of them asked. "You'll see in due time. Care for some wine? The finest in the Empire.", Stever said while pouring himself some. After taking a sip himself, the foreigners took some of it too. "So, how was your day at the first X-5 facility? I take it you found everything to be in order?"

"Well sir, no, we did not. The equipment has disappeared, and no-one can account for it's whereabouts. This is expensive and specialised equipment - it won't have just gone anywhere, and only a real fool would have destroyed it.

I have reported my concerns on this account to my government, as though at the moment we have no evidence of foul play, we also have no evidence that your government has kept it's word.

Equally I am concerned as to why you have demanded that we leave the facility - dress it up as you will, this is essentially what you have done.

Yesterday, a nuclear bomb was sent, by our country, into our own border to Forttown. The United Forces of Upper Highlands is not a nuclear loving country and the only reason it was forced to use its nukes without proper authorization for ADAN was because the X-5 virus was accidently released. Since it spreads very fast, and that an outbreak would be catastrophic, we acted very fast and sent a nuke to stop the virus. As you all know, the X-5 virus existence is unknowned to the public, and we wish it remained that way. For that reason, we did not tell our citizens that we are the ones who nuked Forttown, and you can understand the sense of panic that would create. Instead we have fabricated fake evidence, and for our contrie's best intrest, we wish that all ADAN nations complie with our story and that no other version is given to the press. If this is not respected, it would create an assured crisis in our country and this is very damaging, especialy since we are in time of war.

The limo pulled over at the Grand Plaza Hotel (ooc: very original, I know. Couldn't think of a better name) which was rated best in the Empire. (Mostly because the emperor's daughter had said so in a magazine) Bügler stayed in the limo, while Stever and Jones' team went in.
"Wait here" he said to them and went to the reception. He took out a cheque book with the imperial crest on it and gave a cheque to the woman at the counter.

"Make sure they get the best suites you have."
"Very well, good sir."

"Here's what you're gonna do. The woman over there is gonna arrange you rooms. You go into them and sleep. If you're hungry, use the room service... I suggest you try the bouillabaisse. Everything's been paid for. We'll go and see the equipment tomorrow. Sleep tight, gentlemen." 15 men were sent up after the foreigners had gone to their rooms to make sure they don't leave, and to listen to their conversations (the rooms were bugged, of course).

Stever went outside and bumped into two patrolling policemen and immediately started screaming in their faces. ("Watch where you're going, retards!") He took his cellphone and called Rudolph Kleber, the man in charge of the operations in Buchenwald.
"Hi. Yeah, it's me. You need to change your equipment with the university of New Teutoberg. Don't ask why, just do it."

Sam Jones, the Professor in charge, and Esther Baz, his immediate subordinate, had met in Sam's room soon after they'd settled in.
"They're bugging us, aren't they?"
"I would assume so Esther. Typical police-state."
Sam, in his years as a WMD inspector, had visited several of the breed.
"It's not just that though - these guys seem to be worried."
"They are engaged in a major war with a power we are in alliance with, for all that the ADAN has not called us in to help."

"It's entirely possible. They caved far too easily on destroying the virus, it IS somewhat suspicious."
"But we're only five people, surely they can give us enough of a run-around to show us nothing of any facilities they have running."
"What you forget, Esther dear, is that all we have to take back to Incognitia is a reasonable doubt. If we go back and tell the Council anything other than 'we are certain there is no X-5 virus in Pro Patria Puritania' they'll be justified in working on the assumption there is."
"What was the point in coming then?"
"What we find modifies the uncertainty, between 'unsure but likely destroyed' to 'unsure but probably not destroyed'; this in turn affects how the government acts."
"What action will they take?"
"Likely if they fear it still exists, they'll step up attempts to get samples, and work on prophylactics, vaccines, the works. Possibly sanctions against PPP, but I doubt we trade much with them anyway. Nothing direct unless they use it, or there's a breach of containment in their research efforts."

He knew they were listening. He hoped what he said would be passed up the chain - inspection teams that worried their hosts had gone...missing...before, and it had rarely stopped short of open warfare.

Unlike Jones had wished, the conversation was only passed up to Stever, and he didn't pass it forward. With their conversation in mind, he woke Jones and the others up early the next morning.

"Good morning, gentlemen. I hope you got enough sleep, we're in for a long day.
Get some breakfast before we're off to New Teutoberg."

The equipment had been moved there during the night. Upon arriving some 4 hours later, a student riot was in full swing. Not to oppose the Emperor, they just wanted more money. Stever and the visitors were almost run over by trucks, from which heavily armed riot policemen started pouring out.
"Can you believe it? They get 3,500 reichsmarks a month and they STILL want more. The bio lab thing is this way."

They had been wandering around the university for some time.
"Esther! Anything interesting at your end?"
"Not as far as I can tell. Just need to cross-check the serials with your list."
They mated their two notepad computers with one another.
"Nothing - oh no...there's a match."
"On what?"
"One of the sequencing machines. Same manufacturer, same serial number, as one at the bio-research facility we were checking a couple of days ago. Except there it was put away in a store-room, and here it is, apparently in use at the university."
"Interesting. Whack a report home about that, then move to the next floor."
Esther spent the next minute or so typing up a quick report on the most recent finding, set her notepad to send it, then moved on to continue searching.

"You fucking idiot! You're gonna get hanged for this!" Stever screamed to the woman in charge of the lab. "There might be a way out of this, though. I need full access to your in/out records before they check them." Having access, Stever modified the timestamp on the particular piece of equipment. It now stated that the piece had just arrived that morning, when the others stated that they'd arrived a week before. "Phew, thank fuck for CCTV. Hope they don't get more suspicious, for your own sake."

The woman quickly ran out, lit a cigarette and wept.

"Mr. Jones! I've been looking all over for you. Certainly you've found things to be in order, just like I said, yes?"

"Broadly speaking, yes. I'm not sure what the need for the equipment was here for, and we've encountered one or two anomalies in the locations of equipment, but nothing conclusive.

In fact, I believe we've accomplished about all that we can on this trip. We will go back to our government with an inconclusive report, but frankly I don't know what more they expected from sending five inspectors."

"Well, I'm sure the Grand Marshal and the Emperor wouldn't be reluctant to allow more of your inspectors in. Anyways, have a nice trip home. My superiors in the biological weapons division would also like a copy of your reports."

OOC: Are my counter-invasion plans on hold until TI is done investigating those bio-weapon facilities?

OOC: Either way, inspections are now over and the inspectors are on their way home. Far as I'm concerned roll with it however you want; you can assume that our government would have kept you updated on the inspectors' location so an invasion/bombing campaign could quite easily go ahead, just avoiding the inspectors themselves.

Dalsville, Bunker
Ennemy troops where getting closer and closer to Dalsville, the fifth largest city in Upper Highlands. More then 1 million troops where outside the city to defend it, the ennemies where in artillery range and so they where getting pounded by more then 15 000 artlilery cannons. The objective of the troops where to push the ennemy out of the border, advancing right behind artillery barrage. General Markson was in charge of the operation. He was inside his bunker and was controling the whole operation from there.

The first section to go, right behind the artillery barrage, is the 33rd, 55th and the 61st tank Division, composed of 5678 heavily armored tanks in total. Followed by the 11th, 45th, 58th and 65th infantry Companies, made up of 406 567 men, all of whom are transported in LAV's armed with 88mm canons. The rest of the task force, 523 567 men, are put in flank position on each side of the ennemy. Just before the assault, 987 Elite Sniper's where airborned inside ennemy lines, they have camouflaged themselves and they coordinates where given to the artillery officers and due to the high precision of the artillery cannons, no shells will land in their precise positions.

The order was given to all troops and the counter-offensive began.

The suburbs of Dalsville
The attack wasn't going as well as it could have. Most of the spearhead had been bound into a firefight with 33rd tank division. The bombers dropped GBU-43/B bombs (ooc: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GBU-43/B_Massive_Ordnance_Air_Blast_bomb) at the defenders, power plants, civilian targets and random buildings. Löwe had also managed to convice Hinka to give him unlimited use of the panzer korps and 500,000 men (ooc: after the losses, some 36,600 tanks). Right after the dust settled, the ´15th, 60th and 43th panzer legions, supported by artillery and hordes of infantry charged into the city's key locations, such as bridges, roads, etc and managed to take much of them without considerable losses. The enemy snipers had been noted, and the praetorian guard was closing in on them by using heat-detecting goggles. The city would fall, sooner or later.

Dalsville City

As most of the ennemy troops where prevented from entering the city border, 35 000 ennemy troops have managed to enter and where behind the defences and where targeting civilians. The ennemies where at the south side of the city. Civilians where in a state of panic and downtown was in a state of near chaos. The mayor was in his office and was looking out of his window at the chaos outside, a shell landing every once in a while. The communication with the outside was somehow cut off. He had to do something, ennemy troops where targeting civilian and killing women and children and they where advancing with no millitary force to stop them since the where behind the defences. The mayor John Tompson said to his assitant: "I have to say something to the population, I want my message broadcasted on all screens and loudspeakers in the city." And so on every screen, tv and loudspeaker in the city the same message appeared: "Fellow Dalsvillian, this is your mayor speaking, today our city is being invaded. Millitary forces are unavailble since they are defending the city border. Ennemies have no moral consideration since they are killing women and children. I demand all men in fighting condition to defend our integrity and our honor. Rise up in arm and Fight those bastards!." As he said this, screams and applause where shouted everywhere in the city. Dalsville had a population of 14 million, of the 14 million, 2,3 million where participating to the fight. Fighting groups where scattered all around the city and where recruting more and more people as they walked across the city all singing the national anthem. They where armed with M-16, Ak-47, handguns, shotguns, snipers, some of them had grenades and molotov cocktails (guns law are non restrivtive in Upper Highlands). The men's moral was at its summit, all of them pumped up for a fight. Their extraordinary number contributed to the men's moral and the ennemy was heavily outnumbered. The 2,3 million mass charged the ennemy in all directions. Their courage will mark the history of the nation forever.

The imperial troops fortified themselves into buildings, setting up MGs so that they could fire from basement windows. Snipers (self educated) took up positions on top of towers and tall buildings. The highest ranking officer present, Major Breuer ordered airstrikes on the advanding masses with shrapnel bombs. Due to a mix-up the bombs weren't the shrapnel ones, they were the napalm ones. When they hit their targets agonized screams were heard inside the buildings the imperial troops were in. Some of the imperial troops died in the bombing as well, but the casualties were limited to those who were outside or inside a building that caught fire (about 2,300).

Dalsville

General Markson heard of the courage of the Dalsvillian and immediatly ordered air support and sent enough jet to prevent further bombings. They also deviated 124 artillery cannons to support the civilian operation. They couldn't send any millitary personnal to assist since they where preventing further ennemy troops to enter the city, defences where tighten and UH forces where advancing further, right behind artillery barrage of 13 000 Arty cannons.

Those bombs just encourage the mens moral, they just got more and more angry at the ennemy. The casualties where of 32 890. It was chaos, people where running in all direction, bloodthursty for PPP's. The ones who where captured alive where induced excruciating amount of pain before being killed. They had no chance, the mass just kept coming and coming. Some of the soldiers where fleeing or taking off their uniform and dressing as civilian to protect themselves from the crowd's fury. Artillery was sent in buildings who had snipers, and where highly precise to prevent any collateral damage.

OOC Snipers are near useless against a crowd of 2,3 million.

ooc: I know. They're there just to lower enemy morale and to spread terror. I'll post IC as soon as I get home.

"My lord, I can't get past the city's defenses. I need help from Würstenklauers chemical weapons legions!", Löwe managed to utter to Hinka. "So, you're a traitor then. I gave you simple orders, and more tanks and men, and you still can't do squat." he then nodded to the guards in the room, who dragged Löwe outside, tied him to a tree and cut his belly open. They put a sign next to him saying "I BETRAYED THE EMPEROR." "Now... General Würstenklauer. I trust that your legions won't fail me and the emperor, but I'm still going to take command of them and the late general Löwe's legions. It's about time we got something done right in this war for a change."

Information about general Löwes execution spread quickly and the men cheered. They viewed Hinka as the best military tactician in the empire, which wasn't entirely false.

As soon as the first 6 legions from Würstenklauers battlegroup arrived, a massive offensive was launched. Sarin and VX shells were fired into the enemy's artillery positions. After 10 hours of firing with these shells, the enemy's artillery fire started to become more and more scarce. Now the artillery fire moved down to the enemy's trenches, this time with shrapnel and phosphorus (sp?) shells. 400,000 men charged towards the enemy trenches, supported with recently arrived tanks (Exactly 20,000 were involved in this attack).

Dalsville

While the ennemy was charging the front line, the UH forces of 404 567 fresh men, 25 678 tanks and 65 234 APC's in flank position where closing in on them and the opponent was surronded on all sides. 555 234 mines where scatered in front of the trenches on top of the gunfire of 90 000 MG's and of 323 566 soldiers. It was obvious that the assault would fail. Meanwhile, the anti-air defence was also heavily reeinforced, and soldiers where all equiped with gas masked against chemical weapons because the imperium was knowned for its crual use of deadly nerve gas.

ooc: shrapnel grenades cause casualties. IC inc as soon as I'm with my Swedish assignment.

"Mines! Mines!" the soldiers shouted into their radios when they saw the first ones thrown up in their or die in a blast. "Go around the primary defenses. The tanks will be the spearhead of the pincer manouver." was the new order. The troops followed the tanks closely as they moved around the minefield and entered the city through something that once was a forest and quickly crushed the resistance with their overwhelming numbers on that sector. The soldiers noticed that the enemy was wearing gas masks and relayed the information through the chain of command to Marshal Hinka.

"What's the status of your cyanogen chloride supply?" he asked general Würstenklauer. (ooc: cyanogen chloride is capable of penetrating the filters in gas masks, causes immediate injury upon contact with the eyes or respiratory organs) "We're at full stock, we haven't used any of it yet."
"Good, good. Use it to kill off the enemy's strong points, specifically the trenches behind their minefields."

The prisoners taken were tortured and executed. The city was still burning due to the napalm attacks some time ago.

Officers used loud speakers to address the public. "Surrender now and bow to our great emperor and you will be spared. Any who fail to comply will be either executed or sent to slavery."

Dalsville

The ennemy forces where heavily engaged in all directions by UH forces, the ennemy troops where pinned down and couldn't move further. Artillery was also supporting the troops as well as F-18's effective against tanks. In the sector, at the time of the assault. 12 345 troops where present, in the assault, 6789 where killed, as well as 456 tanks. 4087 retreated and the rest where captured althought most prefered suicide to capture since they knew PPP's crual reputation with captured prisonners. On UH side, alot of soldiers tortured PPP prisoner since they knew what they did to there guys, but they did it under the radar, some of the regiments had an even worse reputation for torture then PPP's.


The UH regiment with the darkest reputation was the 23rd Infantry Regiment or the "Cold killers" as they where called. Once, a PPP soldier was found by his troops hung to a tree one hook one each eye naked with blasphemies against the empereor engraved all over his body and the number 23 (for 23rd infantry regiment) on his forhead, he was still alive. Since then, the 23rd regiment had a terrible reputation for both the ennemy and the allies, most of them would probaly be psycopaths or serial killers if they hadn't enrolled in the army. Officers where relucant to send them in battle because of the atrocities they committed. But today, they where part of the battle group in flanking position, just their name spreaded fear and the other soldiers where incomfortable working with them because they had a reputation for taking their own initiative and disregarding some orders.

ooc: what happened in your positions behind the mine field? o.O And also if over 50% of the troops on that sector were killed or captured and the rest fled, doesn't that mean that I'm in the city right now?

The brutalized soldier was found by a praetorian guard patrol. They took him down and used mud to cover the text. They kicked him in his private area several times and laughed. One of them urinated into his eye socket and kicked him again. Then they smashed his face in with their guns' barrels and bayonets. The man screamed in pain until they'd had their fun and shot him. This was done because allowing oneself to be captured was against the military laws applied to penal legions. The patrol threw him into a small pond and moved on laughing.

The casualties were some 20,000 men and 2,451 tanks. More men and supplies were on their way, though. 4,000,000 more men (ooc: the empire has 15,000,000 prisoners and slaves, not included in the census) 30,000 tanks and 10,000 bombers and fighters + more supplies including ammo, chemical weapons, food, etc. were being loaded into massive cargo ships and aircraft carries in the docks in Heidepolis.

In the city, random executions were taking place among those who refused to bow to the emperor. Those who weren't executed, were used as a human shield while defending as the city wasn't fully under imperial control. Some were sent behind the imperial lines to work as slaves. Engineers were busy laying minefields and putting out the fires caused by the napalm. In the city hall, the mayor was being interrogated by Colonel Schiller from the praetorian guard and his methods were... effective. The imperial flag had replaced the UH one on the roof of the city hall.

OOC by the sector I meant the forest, there are still about 800 000 troops outside the border of the city as well as 1 000 000 surrounding your task force.

OOC I don't see how your millitary took over the city??? They is only 35 000 of your troops in the city, and 2,3 million angry citizens armed with Ak's and such. Could we disregard the part where it says you took over the city, its my fault, maybe you thought I meant I had no millitary to stop your advancment sorry.

ooc: yeah, fine by me. Let's just assume that it was those 35,000 guys that I have inside the city are executing people and doing those mine things and that they took over the city hall. I'll post IC when I'm back from the liquor store :P

OOC the citizens are 2,3 million and are armed with automatic weapon, napalm caused casualties, but still, can you're 35 000 really take over the city that easily with such a resistance? Don't forget they still is enough air support to prevent further napalm attacks inside the city.

We are aware that you treat prisoners of war in a very inhumane way, since we use very humane conditions for your prisoners, we demand you cease immediatly crual treatment upon captured soldiers or we will change our methods as well.

ooc: if I'd have my regular army there the treatment would be more humane, as in 2 hours outside, 2 warm meals and less torture per day but since I've got my penal legions there the treatmen is much worse. The official policy is to treat prisoners well but it tends to be bent in the penal legions. The Emperor doesn't know this and even if he did he wouldn't do anything to stop it. Also you should remember that random civilians with literally no military training are no match against a trained, combat hardened military force + my troops only control the city centre.

ooc: literally everyone knows how to fire a weapon + even with mandatory military service you can't expect every (male) citizen to have completed it due to any possible physical or mental conditions and/or simply just being a pacifist.

Colonel Schiller used the same method as Dalsville's mayor had used when relaying a message to the city's citizens.

"You will cease hostile actions against our troops. For every imperial soldier that dies we will kill 100 prisoners and their lives will be on your consciense (ooc: sp?). Surrender now and I will personally guarantee humane treatment for you and prisoners."

OOC I know, that's why out of the 14 million in Dalsville, 2,3 million are in fighting condition and have, for the most part, completed millitary training. You should also note that a survey compleated in Dalsville showed that one house out of 3 had an automatic weapon and that 8 out of 10 had at least a handgun. That is whitout counting the weapons the police brigade has and who was made to the disposition of citizens for the event.

Thanks Tedd, here in Hamal, the situation is suprisingly calm and the population very docile. The few reports of terrorist attacks are by North-Kurkistanease, of the so called liberation front. General Trustman, commander of the UH army division for the whole of South-Kurkistan said earlier that " the population is very welcoming of UH troops. The problem is the oppressing minoritie from North-Kurkistan. " Some have even hung UH flags outside their house. People react very well to the upcoming referendum, Kurkistanease will have to choose between being part of the UH or keep the independance, on both case, South-Kurkistan will be seperated from the North because of tension and increasing islamic extremisim in the North. Loud speakers, radios and tv sets around the city were broadcasting the same message over and over again:
"You will cease hostile actions against our troops. For every imperial soldier that dies we will kill 100 prisoners and their lives will be on your consciense. Surrender now and I will personally guarantee humane treatment for you and prisoners."

Meanwhile, just outside the city limits 5 praetorian guard legions (ooc: 20,000 men per legion in this organisation) were preparing to punch through a small garrison guarding a minor road that would be capable of handling military traffic into the city. The legions had 5 flamethrower battalions and would be supported by the 67th panzer legion.

Some 10 hours later the attack was launched without artillery support as the attack was supposed to a be surprise. The element of surprise was the key here, as the tanks rushed in first spreading chaos. Some 30 minutes later the flame thrower battalions and the infantry legions came in and scorched the enemy's bunkers and trenches after suffering heavy losses (the flame throwes battlions as they charged in first) due to heavy MG fire. The positions were taken and secured, after which any prisoners taken were sent behind the lines.

Hinka lit a cigar, put his feet on the table and leaned back while watching the news report from Kurkistan. He laughed at Stain's obvious stupidity. The Empire and it's people knew what democracy was and despised it for all the bereuqracy (ooc: I know, I suck at spelling ^^) and slow decisions.

"Send that news network a public note. Tell them that the motives of this war aren't obvious for the UH goverment. But one motive is clear, the people of Kurkistan possibly can't decide for themselves wether Upper Highlands is a suitable country to be annexed with. We'll make them an independent nation.", Hinka said to his assistants.

"It will be done, my lord.", they replied.

The motives of this war are not what the UH goverment thinks. However, one motive is clear, your people can't decide if Upper Highlands is a suitable country to be annexed with or if annexation is the right choice at all on their own. The Emperor will make your nation an independent one free from oppression.

The commanders saw and anticipated the attack with the help of their beloved sattelite video stream. They figured out the best way was an air strike. The area where they attacked was compleatly evacuated of civilians, and so they would only suffer structural loses. They sent orders to the troops in the area to retreat. And so, when the ennemies arrived, they where greeted with a massive bombing with F-18's. The area was compleatly destroyed, but at least the attack was repealed.

ooc: does Kurkistan have a coastline? I'm thinking about invanding there with the additional men and equipment that are on their way.

OOC No its landlocked and you would have to send your men to North-Kurkistan (there are other forces in the area, but since there inactive we can pretend they are not there) since South-Kurkistan is compleatly and fully under UH control. Don't expect full cooperation from the terrorists since the organiztion is chaotic and it is impossible to control them fully.

Today, The former Dictatorship of Kurkistan was officialy divided. North-Kurkistan fiercly opposing UH forces. The South, however, showed itself very docile and friendly to UH troops. A referendum, in South-Kurkistan, gave the South-Kurkistanease the choice between independance or its annexion to the United Forces of Upper Highlands. By an astonishing majority of 76%, South-Kurkistan is now the 34th UH state. South-Kurkistanease can now call themselves proud Highlanders. This is also the creation of the first islamic state, and the official language and religion in this state will remain the same. South-Kurkistan will be a little bit more independant then other states in the country and will be allowed to keep islamic laws, and therefore ban alcohol. Increasing tension at the borders has encouraged to further millitary devellopement near the North-South borders.

I, Ahdal Mah Gharar, am the newly appointed governor of South-Kurkistan, now proudly the 34th UH state. I encourage all member of our holy land to endorse and support UH values. You have now the right to vote, which you never had before, and you're children will be put to school and a compensation for the work they would of done working will be sent to parents. It is today that our people can finally gain some respect in the rest of the world. Saddly, the problem is not entirely resolved, North-Kurkistan terrorist are increasingly hostile against our people. We must support UH forces and help them ,especially in defending our own land. That is why I demmand all young man 16 to 45 to help their people and join the UH army. You will be trained by UH forces and gain their expertise. I am also proud to announce the creation of the 203rd battalion, formed entirely of South-Kurkistanease, the Desert Eagles, commanded by Colonel Haraf Dalah of the former resistance army. OOC its in the middle of the desert, rivers exist but they are way to small for freigates or anything like that.

Seeing the F-18s on radar, MiG-35s took off to intercept the enemy planes. About a dozen were shot down on both sides. The damaged section of the road was rebuilt within a day, and tanks and more troops were now able to enter the city.

Dalsville

The airstrike was not as successfull as the comanders wanted it to be. It had, however, permitted more troops to fill in the holes in the defenses. Now, they where completly prepared and knew exacly what they where against, so prepared for it. Soldiers installed more mines and remote bombs that could take care of pretty much any Tank. They took cover in bunkers forming many thick layers of defense; the ennemy wouldn't pass, UH troops where fully prepared for this assault.

ooc: Can we make this more intresting? I could drop off a few legions into Norht-Kurkistan to help the terrorists fight their war against South-Kurkistani troops, if you're ok with it.

OOC ok, but first we finish with the invasion. And if we do it, could it be South-Kurkistan VS North-Kurkistan troops and both our governements would not intervine. So it would be like AK-47, RPG, kamikazee and maybe a few rusty tanks if thats ok with you.

ooc: I'd prefer to occupy the place, but without my troops actually taking part in the war.

OOC Yea fine, but the generals, commanders, soldiers and even governors would be Kurkish. We won't supply them with any weapons or training.
