Since the death of Celestis a project was under way to create a home that wouldnt fall as easily as the last, and could move out of harms way if needed, the project was named "HOME-1", the project included plans to build a mobile base that would hold the Calaverian population, scientists called it a " City in space", the project was going slowly due to lack of resources, but there were five Observers rapidly beaming up materials straight from other planets surfaces. These were being beamed into the correct places by the ships AI, which calculated perfectly. Home-1 has been in the works since the end of Celestis, so far, the project is 35% complete, but should be done much earlier when the other Observers were free to move, but this cannot be done with war almost being brought....

Station Name: Calaveras/AKA/HOME

Size: 500 KM

ENGINE: 1 Galaxy-NC/1 gravity engine(As powerful as a small sun)

Weopons: 1 enlarged plasma ping:effective against ships and planets:

Defense: 1 Hercules Mark-3 Shield generator(can with stand an enemy fleet of roughly 20 battleships glassing for about 3 days) 300 Plasma turrets(AA).

Hangars: 1 large hangar(can hold 1 Observer): 50 Hangars: 1500 probe fighters.

Interior: Artificial atmosphere enables comfortable conditions in the station, large portions of the inside are filled with plains of grass, and holographic skys. The stations most notable feature, aside from the weoponary, is the zoo, it streches over 30 miles and contains thousands of specieas....

The Dominion Starfleet's Corps of Engineers has been approved to assist you in your undertaking. We have been instructed to make available to you many of our advanced building materials including tritanium composite as well as holographic generators.

With your approval, convoys will immediately sent via wormhole to your location to begin the transportation of resources. We have also gained permission to use assets from the Antares Fleet Yards, including several million nanites programmed in construction and repair.

With nanites and the specifications you have provided, it should take about one year (NS, which equals an RL day) working around the clock with nanites. This dwarfs even our largest vessels and therefore will take some time to complete.

"North Calverian station, this is Captain Bryce Schumar. We're here with the first supply shipment for the station. We expect at least two more trips before everything's ferried over."

Construction plans were sent to the ships, the Observers continued beaming parts into place, beaming was a very boring thing now.

All vessels but the Laden turned and went back down the corridor, being kept open by the lead ship. They returned a second time a half hour later with more supplies.

Captain Schumar headed to the transporter room, "Send notice to the station, I'm beaming over."

A probe appeared. About the size of a desk, it was weighed down with cameras, sensors, scanners, message trasmitters and recievers, sample analizers, GPS, and much of the like. It propelled itself forward on it's two ion engines, curiously looking at this fleet of mismatched ships and loose beginnings of construction. The camera focused and began to transmit...

As components and materials poured out of Ruthless Slaughter's ships, a small probe the size of a laptop with basic tracking, radar, and electrical feeders (little wires that can be ejected into a ship/starstation's electric system) latched onto a small piece of wall. As observers beamed the piece into position, the probe tucked itself into the bathroom wall it was now a part of.

OOC: Roflpants. Sorry.

An Observer hulked past the probes, continueing the beaming proccess, the pieces were painted Calaverian white( the end project should look like a white deathstar)

It took quite a while for all the data to transmit back, and the probe was eventually destroyed when it wandered too close to a ship transporting raw materials. The data raced at near-lightspeed back to Xiscapia, but it took weeks. By the time it reached Xiscapia the probe that had sent it was obsolite for some time. But the data came in. A communications officer got more and more excited as he viewed the images. A messenger was dispatched to the Admiral.
OOC:Gotta go, but this will just move along.

HOME was now almost complete thanks to all the beaming and nanites, this was also because of the great help from other races..

Probe - Near Home-1

What an odd...contraption, thought the AI mind inside the probe. His human masters had 'told' it to record any important information on the Bugs; however, these were definately not Bugs. Still, though, it was important information, and the probe would do what it could.

It sat idly in space and recorded everything it saw. Every five hours, it sent data back to Fleet HQ in the Broostel System. The data, once there, caused quite a stir.

An Observers sensed the probe nearby and beamed it aboard in the hangar where it was met by 20 GOU troopers with Assault rifles and Plasma charged rocket launchers.

The Calaveran inspection of the probe, however, would have to wait. At that moment a fleet jumped in. Roughly fourty ships, Alversian and Xiscapian warships. Several hung back while the rest spread out, coming in a pincer formaton from above, below, at an angle, and straight at the "Home" and the Observers and builder ships crowded around them. A curt voice broadcasted a message:
Surrender now or we will destroy all Calveran ships and structures. You will be treated like sentiants should you surrender peacefully. If you do not surrender, we will kill all combat soldiers and destroy every ship, warship or not. Chose wisely.

Bennett watched from the bridge of the Eclypse as his Alversian warships spread out on either side of his Nano-Dreadnought.

'I shouldn't have left Krystal like this' He thought to himself sadly as the ship went through the motions of battle, 'When she needed help the most'

But the vision of his son lying dead on a hospital bed and all the suffering he knew this new Calaveran base would create should be justification enough from him to come all this way to ensure it's destruction. Too many Alversians and Xiscapians had been hurt by this Xenophobic race and now it was time to end this once and for all.

Krystal would understand.

...and she did.
She knew his pain, his hurt, his sorrow. She also knew his anger, his hunger for justice. His son had no murderers, he was not killed by sentiant hands, just a series of unfortunate accidents. But she knew that if he had to take it out on someone, if he had to purge his soul, the Calaverans were good canadites. She watched the starbase though the sensor camera, with the Observers clustered around it like ugly children to their mother. It occured to her that there could be civilians on it. She had never met a Calaveran civilian. She wondered if they were captives of their society and government, or whether they were just as uncaring an xenophobic as their military. Their guns seem to do all the talking and diplomacy for them. she thought wryly. Sadly we live in a galaxy where that's all that most seem to understand.

A hulking Observer began to turn towards the enemy ships and hailed

"This is captain Kevin of the Observer Marathon, what business do you have here?"

North Calaveran vessal Marathon, this is the Xiscapian Battleship Splinter in the Minds Eye. We have noticed activity in this sector and, due to a war between our nations before your homeworld was ravanged, we are displeased with it. Due to war crimes commited during the war, we demand you cease and desist, destroy all warships and weaponry, and surrender unconditionally. Do this and we will not harm you. If you resist, you will be destroyed.
Shields and weapons powered up, and the hangers opened. Fighters, patrols, LAM, HAM, and corvettes streamed out to form a defensive screen of small craft should the enemy send Probe fighters against them.

Kevin's view screened showed boxed pictures of multiple Xscipians and Alversians.

" This is going to be our home, it is not desighned as a weopon, leave us in peace."

Sor considered. The Calaveran had no intention of destruction or war? Very well. He turned on heel and dictated a message for the Communications Officer to patch though.
We will be watching this home of yours. Should you destroy, or attempt to destroy, anymore peaceful races, we will come down on this starbase and destroy it. I, Admiral Sor of the Xiscapian portion of this fleet, request a meeting with the head of the starbase in order to discuss recent events in both our species histories.
He then sent a message over to Rear-Admiral Bennett on the Nano-Dreadnought the Eclypse, who he knew had been also recieving all incoming messages.

" This is our space, you have no claim here, withdraw immediatly, you dont want bodys on your hands just as much as we do."

He then sent a message over to Rear-Admiral Bennett on the Nano-Dreadnought the Eclypse, who he knew had been also recieving all incoming messages.

Bennett watched the ensueing action with a dilenma on his hands, the presence of Observers were evidence enough that the Calaverans had the capacity to wage another war while their very ideology meant it was almost inevitable for war to be launched. It was too much of a risk...

...but those on Alversia had changed, surely these could also?

Upon recieving the message from the Fleet Commander, Bennett sent a cautious reply

Order them to dismantle their Observers and we will maintain a
fleet to protect your home from harm

"Dismantle our fleet, our Alversian you are funny, and why would i disarm my people, so you could crush us once and for all."

This was starting to irritate Bennett. It seemed like they were trying to delay him or just being awkward. Whatever it was, he was never a man for patience and his limited reserve was starting to run out with this cocky tramp who thought he could be cheeky to a full battlefleet. In truth, he could level that station with the Eclypse alone, but his inbred sense of honour prevented him from doing so. Instead he waited for an answer.

An Observer exited hyperspace at HOME:1, a new face appeared on the hailing screens, one to horrify most.

Kash, or as Xscipians called him, the butcher, appeard on the screen " I heard the news, Kevin hold your tounge, Alversian, what's your name and rank."

Sor snarled softly when he saw Kash's face. He was known on Xiscapia as Kash the Butcher, for the Xiscapian pilot he had had dissected alive. He was one of the most hatred figures on Xiscapia of all time. Sor would like nothing better than to blast the scum out of existance...and there were warcrimes Kash had not be tried for. However, diplomacy demanded that he asked questions before deciding to shoot. He opened a channel to Kash's ship and bowed as lightly and shallowly as possible. "Kash...welcome back." he said coldly.

But you escaped, or were rather temporarily pardoned. Your homeworld was ravanged, almost every Calaveran in the galaxy, dead. Only a handful of Observers left. The war stopped, of course, but you lot were still out there. We've been hunting for you ever since. And now, with the power of multiple worlds and hundreds of ships behind us, when you have no homeplanet to back you up, you want peace." He sneered. "How hypicritical."

Kash had a slight frown " I dont think we can live up to that, you see, if we do what your "oh so good" cause tells us to do, then we are defenseliss, oh ya, well what happens when you cant be there to help? we would be in turn your little play thing, and i know what playing god is like."

There will be a fleet manning the space around the Station at all times,
you would have no need for a fleet of your own. As long as the military

Bennett was starting to get agitated. The fact he was talking to a war criminal did not help matters and now he was acting every bit as obnoxious as his predecessor had. It was almost as if they were delaying for something. Was Kash stalling for time? He didn't have the time to think about it now.

Kash camly replied " We are not Alversians, diplomat, and i dont know if leaving my entire people in the hands of two other nations, surely you could just execute us all after we were in your cradle."

Sor frowned. This was pleasing, but unexpected. "Very well." he said finally. "Bring no one with you. Come unarmed in a single Probe fighter." He opened a link seperate to Bennett. "I assume you would like to attend?"

The GOU and Kash were beamed aboard the ship, Kash wore his combat gear, he never wanted to where the upper class suits, because he wanted to be with his men. They appeared on the bridge of the ship.

The GOU were permitted to beam aboard after being scanned for weapons and explosives. Upon their arrival they were met with thirty Marines, armed with rifles, surronding them. Sor stood behind the ranks of troops, along with his X.O. and a few Bridge Officers. "We will wait for Rear-Admiral Bennett. Make yourselves, ah, comfortable." he sneered. The Calaverans were in a cramped area, a little open topped room, bare on any controls or adornment. If they tried to resist, the room would become a killing box, the GOU shredded by blaster fire. "You will all stay here for the whole time, except Kash." A force field came over the top and over the door, seperating Kash from his men.

"Ae you that stupid? It's simple really. You came with an "honor guard", we only wanted you. So now we have only you." Sor grinned. "You can't just show up on the bridge of my ship with a platoon of soldiers during negotiations and expect no repercussions, now can you?"

Kash laughed and smiled " I guess this makes you a hypocrite now does it?" he said while licking one of his canines.

Sor narrowed his eyes. "In what way, Calaveran?"

Kash " Well it actually depends, am I your prisoner now, if so you lied about having peacful intentions."

"Oh, no, you've misinterpreted. You are a guest here, not a prisoner. Only your men are captive to us. You are a ambassador for your whole race, though you will still be under guard this whole time. You and your men are free to leave at any time, as long as your exit is off this ship."

Kash sighed " Then why do i need a shield?"

"To make sure no, ah, unfortunate accidents occur while you are here. To protect yourself as much as us. See, there isn't a kitsune on this ship who wouldn't dearly love to gut you whereyou stand with his sword. Least of all me."

Kash smiled " You put an Xscipian in this with me, I will make sure its final moments are filled with pain."

Sor laughed and grinned, one which didn't reach his eyes. "I'm sure you could try, couldn't you? Kash the Butcher, Slaughterer of innocents, Destroyer of worlds. Kash the Xenocide. We have so many names for you. But you are, as they say, only human."

Kash still grinned at the Xscipian " So, now what, would you care to chop my head off in front of my men, or get on with this."

"As I said before, we're waiting for Admiral Bennett. But I suppose we may start without him." The force field was raised to admit Kash onto the brdge, but lowered before any of his men could follow. "Follow me to the confrence room." Sor, his X.O., and four Marines went with Kash. Sor and the X.O., who was a short blonde female with gray fur and orange eyes, known for her temper called Salda, walked in front. The Marines walked in a box around Kash, one in front, one in back, and one on either side. They reached the conference room. The walls were white and seemingly lite from within. Eight handsome plastic and cushon chairs, black in color, had been brought up around the table. The Marines guarded the exits, two to both doors, which were located on either side of the confrence room. Sor and Salda sat across from Kash. Sor began the meeting. "So, you want peace. Please elaborate on the fact that you no longer feel suicidal tendicies involving the destruction of all that is not you."

He almost cracked up " Suicidel, hardly, my fury freind, and we dont want to destroy, we want to watch and learn, but sometimes we have to get rough. The only reason im actually asking for peace at the moment is cause of you boys keeping me from escaping and bringing a battle that would cost many of lives, including yours to start."

"Heh. So only watching was luring a patrol ship and two fighters onto your Observer, then keeping them all as prisoners, dissecting one alive and brutally shooting the other, along with dozens of other innocent species. Watching is only not attempting to communicate, but lying to us, then attacking, again and again before your home world was destroyed. Don't pretend like you care about lives, Kash. Don't pretend, either, that we haven't got you and your lot out there scared stiff, shaking in their boots. If we were to wipe you all out, that would be the last Calaverans to ever die, wouldn't they?"

He replyed calmy, he knew there were stil at least 5 other Observers at the rebel colony(same place as blackwater came from) " Yes, were all here and happy." he stiffend " As for being scared, you will find that we are not, our fleet has enough firepower to take you on, of course the balance is towards you though..." he smiled " Now what if i said, if i gave up myself to you for trial, would that bring peace?"

Kash frowned " Alright, but you must permit us to at least one Observer and its fighters, as well as ground forces aboard the starbase, then you got yourself a deal."

Sor snorted. "You really are a fool, aren't you? If you gave yourself up you'd be given a trial, found guilty of war crimes, and then executed. Then we'd just come and take over. If you stay here it's better for everyone. You don't die, the people still have their leader, and we don't have to fight you. It's really very simple, and I'll say this one last time: Dismantle your weapons, get everyone on that starbase, and surrender. I'll swear in blood that we won't destroy you, or let anyone else destroy you."

Kash stood up and adjusted his helmet, and lent out a cold hand, he smiled " I surrender."

A fleet will stay here at all times, to both protect you and watch you. If you send out your Observer anywhere, it will be escorted by Battleships." He stood. "I think we understand each other."

"Nothing. You are going back to your men until the Rear Admiral arrives, and I am going back up to the bridge." Sor walked off with his X.O. Kash was roughly hauled to his feet, slapped in plasma cuffs, and taken to his force field cell with his men on the bridge, where he was thron in. A screen came down over the force field, obscuring the bridge. One of the GOU spoke up. "So, boss, how'd it go?"

Kash sat up in the cell" What the fuck?" then turned to his man " Ummm, lets just say its a start."
The GOU nodded wisely. "Right. Seems like you got a lot accomplished." The soldier was being unusually insobordiante for a highly trained GOU.

Kash stared at him " Excuse me?"

Bennett was beamed quicky onto the command ship and now marching into the brig, escorted by two Grunts.
"Well, So I understand yuo have agreed to our demands?" He asked in a rather pleasant manner.

The GOU coughed and pointed to behind Kash at the Rear-Admiral Bennett who had suddenly appeared there. Sor stood behind him as the force field lifted, once again admitting only Kash and not the rest of the soldiers, so he coul breathe and speak more freely. The moment he stepped out two Marines stepped up to flank him, looming imposingly behind the Calaveran, blaster rifles on their backs but nevertheless ready to be leveled and fired.

Kash smiled " Ah, another human, nice to meet you admiral, yes i agreed the terms."

"So I noticed" The elder Rear-Admiral conceded, "You have agreed to dismantle all Observers and put your safety in our hands? That is a very good step towards peace Commander, well done" He looked around at the Marines "I think a joint contingent of Alversian and Xiscapian Marines should go aboard to maintain order and keep a military presence aboard your station"

Kash stood up " With all due respect, If i let your men aboard, somebody is going to get hurt, the only way i would let that happen is if we get to have military presences on Xscipia and Alversia."

Sor laughed. "You forget, you have no military under the terms of the surrender." he spoke to Kash, then turned to Bennett. "I agree with the Rear-Admiral, however, a small force of Marines should be kept on the station, along with a few ships to mantain order and keep an eye on things. I've permited them to keep a single Observer, with it's plasma ping taken out, and a small ground force, armed only with pistols and assualt rifles, no heavy weapons, and no post walkers."

Bennett nodded, "Those sound reasonable to me" He said at length "The men I would place on the station would only be a Company, they are good soldiers and I think it will benefit your people to have some outside contact for once"

"Its alot when you have nothing but a small army, oh admiral it does sound like occupation, this is OUR ONLY HOME, our last one was wiped out, and seeing as this home is Calaverian, Xscipian or Alversian presence should be met by Calaverian presence, and frankly your starting to piss me off with your terms."

We will grant you permission to garrison HOME 1 with as many troops as you wish but you will keep only one Observer and no heavy armour." "As disgusted as this makes me, Kash, you are free to leave, along with your men. Keep in mind, we are watching." Sor got directly in front of the Calaveran, right in his face, eye-to-eye. "If I ever get wind of any kind of attack on our people by your again, or anyone else, your HOME will be only so much slag floating in space and that will be the end of the Calaveran people!" he spat this last word, then turned on heel and strode away. Two Marines stepped forward. "It's time for you to leave, sir."

The Observers were controlled by a crew of 5 to each observer and these were sent to the lava world, they would then jump to the rebel base. Kash smiled and thought "stupid animals" he opend communications again with them " Admiral, I hear you are in some trouble at home, a civil war might be brewing."

The Alversian section of the fleet began to power it's weapons.

"Kash" He called over the commlink "I would like to put a torpedo into each hulk to ensure their destruction. And what of the Observer that is orbiting with the 6th Deadnought Squadron? It will have to be decommissioned as well"

"Yes, it will be disarmed and brought to home for recycling, but we will keep at least one Observer as was agreed."

The Dreadnoughts of the fleet fired a series of pale white torpedos into each hulk. At first it seemed that nothing was happening, then each seemed to disintergrate from the force of each explosion. There was nothing left but small amounts of debris

There was something about the smile that Bennett didn't like but it didn't matter, his fleet was now charged with the protection of the Station and they would follow that charge until the end.

The white death-star station hulked as it flew slowly in space, its massive engins were on all stop at the moment. Kash was beamed on board to his command post. " Admiral, I have agreed to let your men aboard the station, if we may have our Observer kept armed."

However, a fleet will be here at all times, and you still must dismantle your single Observer's weapon. Now, if I may get the name and serial number of the Observer you are choosing?"

Kash smiled " Certainly" he sent them the readout of the ship.

To my understanding, your HOME is mobile and can function as a gigantic Battleship. I'm going to send teams, along with the Rear-Admiral's teams, to dismantle or disable all the guns. You will let them in and cooperate. We've tagged every gun from the outside, so we'll know if you try and make us miss any."
In the hangers shuttles and drop ships were being prepped. Teams of demolitions specialists and technitions were being assembled, along with equipment.

A Colonle directed them to the massive machine, thousands of technitians were starting to dismantle it, piece by peice, the colone turned to him " We want this thing in pieces, but still workable, you get me" he signaled them to procceed.

The techs and demolitions men and women set forward to help dismantle it. "Colonle," said the Captain Marine, "the device will be workable, but we are taking the firing mechanism, the power core, and the targeting computer with us. Just a precation."

He nodded " Very well, now, get out of my sight." he said as the teams were beamed out.

Kash was still communicating, he was rather bored and tired from this whole experience, he began to drink a bottle of Calaverian whiskey. " You know, this experience has changed my life" he laughed.

Sor nodded to himself. "I believe that is the end of our negotiations and operations here." he opened a private comm to Bennett. "What, do you think, would be an appropriatly sized fleet to guard this station?"

Soon the Alversian ships for the fleet had arrived, there were a total of twelve included some heavy firepower.

If attacked, the fleet had all the bases covered. The Battleships had heavy firepower, the Cruiser was anti small craft, the Destroyer guards the other ships, the Drones for protection against fighter attack, and the Medical Ship, well that's obvious.
