The Grand World Order Military Ref. Thread

The Grand World Order
11-11-2007, 22:10
The following thread is a reference to the various units within the Federation Military. It is not an RP thread, but you are welcome to respond. And to begin, a basic definition of each force in the Military.

The Federation Army

The Federation Army is the main branch of the Military. Each soldier goes through advanced training, and the clone soldiers kill for advancement into the Army from the Academies.

The Federation Marine Corps

The Federation Marine Corps serves as guards, paratroopers, special operations troops, and are sent in to clear areas so that the Army can begin constructing outposts, et cetera. Marines are even better trained than Army Infantry, and are physically stronger than Army Infantrymen.

The Special Tactics Force

The Grand Commander's personal unit. All soldiers are clones, except for one man, who commands the unit, right under the Grand Commander. These soldiers are always constantly training or fighting; Warfare is all they care about. Anything else is rubbish to them. They are all fanatically, even suicidally, loyal to the Grand Commander. They serve as his body guards, embassy guards, elite forces, and perform operations that would be deemed morally, legally, and politically "illegal."

The Federation Air Force

The soldiers in the Air Force are some of the only troops who don't wear full HAZMAT undersuits in their uniforms. Obviously, they fly the planes of the military. They work closely with the Navy to perform warfare at sea. Marines and Army soldiers tend to dislike the Air Force.

The Federation Navy

The personnel who man the ships of the Federation Fleets. Currently attempting to gather funds for a spacefleet. The Marines are officially part of the Navy, but the only usual contact Marines have with the Navy is while they serve as the ship guards.

The Federation Engineer Unit

While the Engineers are Branch-oriented, they are officially part of the Engineer Unit. They build things, invent things, repair things, and blow things up.

Federation Equipment Standards

Army

Infantryman, Enlisted:
-MI-8 Carbine or FSIAAS Automatic Shotgun or EASR Sniper Rifle
-MI-P57 pistol
-PASGT-style helmet made of titanium and boron carbide with Kevlar "Helmet Skins"
-Federation Gas Mask. The most sentimental part of any infantryman's uniform, the lens are cameras, not glass. They project various info about the soldier and his surroundings into the screen on the inside of the mask. The screen produces an outline on any living thing it detects within range. It also changes the soldier's voice, so that all soldiers sound alike. This device, which looks like a filter between the two filters also serves as the radio and locator. Enlisted Army Infantrymen wear green-camera gas masks.
-Military Protective Undersuit: A layered system of protective clothing, worn under the outer uniform of the soldier. The top layer is an FWS-inspired "liquid armor" suit. Underneath it is a protective skintight suit that can quialify as a high grade HAZMAT suit.
-Basic Mess Kit with Rations
-2 Frag Grenades
-3 Smoke Grenades
-Basic First Aid kit (Medics carry field surgeon kits)
-Extra magazines, number depends on type and weapon
-5 Emergency Flares
-Basic Wash Kit
-Balaclava, worn over the head part of the undersuit
-Combat Backpack for storing any extra items
-Basic camouflage exterior uniform (When taking part in combat-uniformed marches, camo design is Federation Urban Camouflage, which is like average Urban camo without the white)
-Boron carbide/Kevlar vest
-Knee and elbow pads
-"Blitz" Combat Boots

Infantryman, Officer:
Same as an Enlisted Infantryman, except:
-Red Camera lens Federation gas mask
-Trench coat instead of normal jacket
-Some officers wear black berets
-Some officers use custom pistols if they are a high enough rank

Similar to infantry, except:
-Armor Communications Helmet
-Lack of vest
-Lack of Knee/Elbow pads
-Lack of combat backpack
-MI-P57 pistols only
-Lack of anything else "infantry-like" (I'm too lazy, sorry.)

Helicopter Pilot:
Same as Tanker, but with a lighter helmet.

Army Recruit:
-Snow-Blue Training Camouflague
-Snow-Blue Cover
-Black Training Harness
-M-16 Rifle
-Extra Ammunition

Air Force

All non-flight personnel wear either flight suits or dress uniforms (Which are black). All personnel have MI-P57 Pistols, anyone who is classified as Combat Personnel carries a P-90. Many members also wear reflective-lens Aviator glasses.

Pilots wear:
-Federation Flight Helmet (Squarish, rectangle window, sealed helmet with air pumped into it after being pressurized, contains radio)
-Federation Flight Vest (Small armor ability, contains air hoses, etc.)
-Federation "Fallschirmjaeger" boots modified for better ankle movement
-P-90 submachine gun, which is strapped to the emergency ejection seat
-MI-P57 Pistol

Special Tactics Force

STF Infantryman:
-World War 2 Style German-Style helmet, Officers w/ spike, made of current ballistic material
-Ballistic Vest with metal pieces arranged in a decorative pattern
-Red Camera-Lensed STF-Edition Gas Masks. Has lens shaped like eagle eyes, similar to Space Marine mask eyes for those of you who play Warhammer. Filter is integrated with the Vocoder, making a vertical "Wafer" design on the filter. Rebels call STF Agents "Darth Vaders" because of the mask.
-Federation "Curbstomp" Boots, a basic no-frills plated design that also serves as a shin guard.
-Pelvis Armor
-Thigh Armor (Different than Marine thigh armor)
-Balaclava
-Federation Protective Undersuit

The STF does not use special vehicles, so Infantry is the only class. The uniform is stark black, and "S.T.F." is printed in white on the back of the vest.

The Federation Navy

Identical to the Air Force, but with Navy logoes instead of AF logoes.

That's all I'm going to put for now, I'll update it later, if any updates do arrive.
